Really neat experience. The ticket comes with a free audio tour device that's available in a bunch of different languages. The audio tour itself is really informative and is worth listening to. The house itself is really interesting and there is a fair bit of art displayed in the house. I wish there had been more Rembrandt work as a lot of it is contemporaries and students of his. There is a separate gallery that displays a rotating collection at the end of the tour.

Very interesting visit to Rembrandt's house. An audio guide (in different languages) takes you throw the different rooms decorated as if it was the XVII century. You will discover many histories about the master, his career as well as his prived life. It's worth to do a visit.

Excellent reconstructions of how Rembrandt lived as a famous artist, curiosities collector & art dealer. The audio / video guide is an excellent example of how to bring individual spaces, objects & artwork to life.

Very nice museum, beautiful paintings and objects from Rembrant's life. I recommend setting aside at least 3 hours for a museum tour. I also recommend that you buy a ticket online, it's more convenient and you can be sure that you will really see the museum at that time. the staff was nice and helpful. You can buy a themed souvenir in the small shop.

Impressive place ... You feel like you enter in the life and the drama of the great Rembrandt. You step on his footsteps, you breath his air, you feel his joy, despair, suffering, powerlessness, decay ... Loaded with paintings from the seventeenth century, with furniture and artifacts of that time, with its collection of antiquities and various things, in which a buried the money and led him to bankruptcy. With the air loaded with sadness of a house in which the children, the wives, the luck and the well-being lost...

Definitely one of my favourite museums in Amsterdam. It’s a small place, but the audio guide does a great job narrating Rembrandt’s life story. Although his most famous masterpiece, the Night’s Watch is not here (too big to fit in the house anyway), the museum has a nice collection of his other paintings and the eccentricities he accumulated over the years. Highly recommended.

Initially I wasn’t sure if I needed to visit Rembrandt’s house-museum but I’m glad I did it. Very informative and interesting! Audio tour is available in many languages. And I loved the workshop.

It was nice view of Rembrandt life and consequences in his paintings and life. The automatized audio device was perfect, really great stuff and easy to handle. It is for about an hour to spend and get to know more about this famous Dutch painter and art business man.

A must-see for fans of Rembrandt or anyone interested in 17th-century Dutch life. The museum is located in Rembrandt's actual house, which has been restored to its original condition. There are two demonstrations of how paints and etchings were made, and many interactive elements. Good value for money.

Quite a nice museum, offering a window into Rembrandt's life. The house was Rembrandt's home and studio from 1639 to 1658, a period that saw him create some of his most famous works. The home itself is luxurious and reflected Rembrandt's success at the peak of his career. The staff who worked there were helpful and seemed to enjoy working in the house. My favourite part was the etching demonstration that showcased the very technique Rembrandt used to create his renowned prints

I finally got to know his story more. I would have loved to see the timeline put early at the museum. There were too many paintings that weren’t Rembrandts but his teacher or others. I think if they had the text next to the paintings would save time. The quality of Audio guide was the best.

An amazing experience to see where this icon lived and created. I loved how it was restored to near-original condition. Takes about 1-2 hours to tour. You have to go up and down steep stairs, so not ideal for elderly or handicapped. Definitely stop in if you have the time!

MUST SEE MUSEUM - Definitely among my Top 5 museum in Amsterdam. You can use I Amsterdam card.for a free empty. Wery well prepared and in details fantastic adventure into Rembrandt's life. Great free audio guide and you can enjoy it on your own pace just by walking the house from the bottom to the top. I love this museum and definitely wait for the "workshop" of press printing in the 4th floor. It is funny, entertaining and educative. The gentleman was super.

Amazing experience. The museum provides Chinese audio guide. Following the audio guide, I feel that I am really seeing Rembrandt was welcoming guests, drawing, and living in this house. Highly recommend.

It was very interesting and it shows how he lived and worked and includes both his studio and the studio where he teached his students. Audio guide is included in the price. The only thing that could have been improved is is they offered a headset. You sometimes hear the guide from the other people's speakers.

A fantastic museum to visit and experience the life and history of Rembrandt. If you go early in the morning it is not that crowded. A good idea to book your tickets online. I really did not know that he was such a collector and had a passion for teaching students to become better artists. Well laid out and educational.

My favorite museum in Amsterdam. It feels more like stepping into the history of a home and artist's studio than a staged place. Recommend you book your tickets for the opening time and enjoy! Highly recommend.

It is interesting to acknowledge the deeper history of Rembrandt through this experience but was hoping for a bit more here. Goes for around 30 minutes and costs 28 euros each. Rembrandt, my favourite artist and was hoping to hear more around his piece, Night watch. Is it worth the experience? Yes, if you're a Rembrandt fan, but if not, just google his history or go experience a personal tour at the Reijks museum

The original house of the famous painter Rembrandt with audio guide in each room analysing all the paintings and exhibits. You feel the life of Rembrandt coming to life in front of your eyes. We made a reservation a day before our visit but it was easy finding tickets. A very valuable and enjoyable experience. Thank you very much.

Definitely recommend listening to the audio guide they provide in the lobby. It was great learning about Rembrandt’s life. Not much of his own work on display, but there are some nice pieces of art nonetheless.

This Rembrandt museum was Rembrandt house yrs ago. It is a good place to spend abt 1.5hrs here to know something abt this painter/trader. The entrance ticket is included by the Amsterdam city card and remember to book slot and q there, quite a lot of visitors. Some of the collections in this museum is quite interesting.😉

  • 5/5 Studio N. 5 months ago on Google
It was a fun, informative and definitely inspiring experience. Most of what you see is a reconstructed setting and that what made me hesitate but I’m glad I went for it and visited the museum. I think people will hate me for this but I think it’s an invaluable experience for artists to see what a real artist looks like. He experimented with all sorts of methods and tried many techniques, took walks and was inspired by his immediate surroundings and dreamt big. He collected objects and examined art books. He made drawings, etchings, prints. He taught art and dealt in art. Oftentimes artists doubt themselves and neglect learning about the “trade” of being an artist, I think being where Rembrandt once lived will inspire you to see a different path. It certainly did for me; and for that I thank god who brought me to the cafe next door (the Rembrandt’s corner) Long story short Wasn’t sure about the museum Had a walk, started to rain Got windy Changed my mind about the museum Headed back to the hotel Took refuge in the first cafe I saw Had a warm slice of apple pie Asked what the cafe was called Girl at cafe said it was Rembrandt’s Corner Do you happen to know where Rembrandt’s house is? I asked Next door she said.

When you visit the Rembrandt House Museum, you can experience the life of Rembrandt himself. The museum has carefully restored each room and furnished them with furniture and objects based on documentation of Rembrandts private collection. The best part are some of the original etchings from Rembrandt himself but the majority of the museum is to more so learn about his life than view his greatest pieces of art. This is a self guided tour where you'll be given an audio guide and you select the commentary based on the room you're in.

Great museum – the right size to spend 20 minutes or a couple of hours in. Well set up, nice selection of art from Rembrandt and other historical and modern artists. Excellent selection of etchings as well! Thoroughly recommend it

This was a very well put together audio tour through Rembrandt's house and life. They have some amazing pieces by Rembrandt and some of his influencers and his apprentices. Also, the staff was very responsive when I had trouble with my audio pack. Great stop!

Thoroughly enjoyed touring this home of Rembrandts that he lived and worked in. To see the rooms set up where he painted and did printmaking and sold his artwork AND painted the night watch was an amazing experience.

Great idea. Nice interaction in the highest floor with artists. Got a bit dizzy with headphones (not used to limit hearing) and the whole place was very warm for a Scandinavian 🔥

This museum gives a nice insight into Rembrandt’s life and the house where he lived during (part of his) time in Amsterdam. It is recommended to do the audio tour (which is free of charge).

I dont think it is must-see for a tourist but that does not change the fact this museum is a magnificent place. It is very well designed, and also equipped with (slightly) interactive workshops. Best way experience Rembrandt.

Historic house consisting of three floor with interior being conserved as it was centuries ago. It is hard to believe Dutch people were actually quite shorter few centuries ago.

My man suggested we should go here, I was a bit skeptical due to that I’m not that interested in art and history. But it was a really cozy and interesting tour. It was definitely worth it!

  • 5/5 Henk W. 2 years ago on Google
Quite exciting museum. It is the real place, obviously reconstructed, but creates the atmosphere to expect the painter in the next room. Good audio tour that provides optimal info. It will take not more than an hour, it can be easily combined with other Amsterdam highlights in the neighborhood.

  • 5/5 Felicia H. 2 years ago on Google
Great museum to see where Rembrandt used to live, there's two part of the museum, the modern wing and the old house. Free guided audio tour provided and it adds so much context to the museum. It took around 1 hour to go through everything and very enjoyable to visit even if you are coming alone.

Nice museum. You will see how the master was living and a you will learn a bit of his history... but unfortunately not too much painting from Rembrandt.

  • 5/5 Vika Z. 5 months ago on Google
This is definitely one of the best museums I have ever visited! The audio guide is a must. It's included in the ticket price, so please take it. It has many exciting stories about Rembrandt’s day-to-day life. The etching demonstration was very interesting. The painter who facilitated the demonstration was super friendly and his presentation was very engaging! He gladly answered all our questions and it was obvious that he knew what he was talking about! Now, this museum is in the top 5 of my favorite!

It was such a nice time to experience the life of one of the great Dutch painter Rembrandt in his own huis. Will definitely recommend this museum to everyone as it's very eye opening on how we approach to things on a daily basis and it's not that big where you have to spend your whole day 🙂

  • 5/5 Sebastian M. 1 year ago on Google

Defenitely a must place to visit in Amsterdam, wether you love painting or not. This place located behind waterloplein flea market. The museum has lot of Rembrandt's collection and also the biografy of himself. Entering this house, will take you to the 16-17th era of renaissance. This museum also has the collection of Rembrandt which were not only painting, but some antique and "weird" stuff the he bought from different countries. He spent a lot of money to buy these kind of "weird" things! 😘 It's quite close from Amsterdam Centraal, you can just walk via The China town to Nieuwmarkt area. Or take the route from Double tree hotel, cross to Prins hendrikade . There are a lot of cafe nearby this museum to hang out, or just checking the antique shops

  • 5/5 Shari L. 1 year ago on Google
So well curated and displayed. It was so fun to feel like you're seeing a day in the the life of Rembrandt.

  • 5/5 Jim C. 1 year ago on Google
This was a cool museum, in that it was his actual house and was furnished the way that it would have been when Rembrandt live there. There are not a lot of his paintings in the museum, but there are several of his original etchings and many reproductions. It was cool to see his work as well as a 16th century home. There are steep steps, and I did not see an elevator.

  • 4/5 Ahmet Selim B. 1 year ago on Google
This is the house where Rembrandt lived between 1639 and 1658. It was restored once in 1911 and the second time in 1911. The house is now a museum, entry is charged, it's got 4 stories, but please keep in mind that there is no elevator and the stairs are very narrow. Once you reach the top floor, you pass to the next building and use the elevator to go down. Personally I rank the House of Rubens as no:1 and the house of Rembrandt as no:2. Enjoy.

  • 5/5 Credible C. 11 months ago on Google
The house of the most famous son of Amsterdam. Most of his works were hung in other grand museums; here his life is shown in his own house. One would get the gist of his life, how he lived and worked. The house illustrated this point very well with many original artifacts of the period. The audio program was very helpful, telling vivid stories of his life and how he earned his living. Very nice museum with very good supportive staff.

  • 3/5 Vishal A. 10 months ago on Google
A very interesting place to understand the life of Rembrandt but the disappointment for me personally was the lack of his personal artworks. There was only a single original painting of his present in this museum. If you buy tickets as a student is 10 euros, that's not a problem. But if you have to pay full amount I would recommend to skip this for sure.
