Worth it! Like most Zoos, Columbus features several hours of exhibits and animals from across the world. This zoo is an excellent attraction for families of all ages. Off season is the best time go, while it’s still a bit cold outside, to reduce the number of tourists. Likewise, arriving early will ensure that the animals are active and near feeding time. My favorite exhibit was the manatee tank! I highly recommend this zoo for many reasons.

Great zoo for the whole family. Lots of parking. Clean and well staffed. I saw EMS and security team members roaming the zoo. Many attractions have wheelchair access. Clean and kid’s friendly. Lots of customers but didn’t get overwhelming for me because the place was so large, everyone was well scattered. Lots of restrooms, small gift shops, drink and snack stands, and restaurants throughout the zoo. Lots to do. Lots to look at. Lots to buy. Affordable prices for foods, drinks, snacks and admission. Parking is $10 in addition to admission cost. Water park is also additional. Place is huge. Plan to stay a whole day or maybe even two days or else you’ll be rushing to get through the entire place.

One of the best days of our vacation was spent at this zoo! I would definitely come back again, this time maybe for The Wilds experience. We got there fairly early, not long after opening. FYI, there is a parking fee collected when you enter the lot, so be ready. We saw so many animals and had great views that allowed for some awesome pics. Definitely recommend spending the extra cash to feed the giraffes, too. I do this at any zoo that offers it and it never gets old. We covered most of the zoo in a very busy 3 hours, but if you want to take your time, you could easily spend a whole day. Oh, and I loved the Frosty cart, it was a great treat right before heading out. I haven't seen one like this anywhere else and it was a perfect ending to the day. Definitely recommend.

First time at the Zoo in the winter and it was Great! Hardly anyone was there so it was like we got the animals all to ourselves. Africa area is closed for winter so we couldn’t see gorillas, lions, or giraffes but plenty of other happy and active animals were around and able to be seen. Tickets are half price for the winter too so take advantage of that deal!

I hadn't been to the Columbus Zoo for a long time! So much bigger. The zoo and aquarium were absolutely amazing! Natural habitats we're well maintained. Animals seemed clean, well fed and mostly active. We all enjoyed the wonderful displays. Price was about $25 for the zoo and aquarium. They also had rides! I think you could pay per ride or maybe buy a ride pass bracelet (??). Also, they had a splash park! No info to give, just that I saw it as an extra part of the zoo area (need to buy a extra ticket for the water park). This attraction has a HUGE parking lot ($10 for parking...I highly recommend buying tickets online. Also, you should print your tickets before you go! You pay for parking at the same time). From the parking lot, there is a "tram" to get on to ride to the main zoo entrance. We had a great day!

We love close enough to go to the Zoo regularly and enjoy the beautiful grounds and education offered. The zoo doesn't remarkable job of encouraging conservation and understanding animal habitats. I am adding a review of the WildLights for 2023. The sheer volume of work that goes into this endeavor demonstrates the sense of bringing community together. It was awe inspiring - packed for sure. Things seemed to run orderly and for trip the weather was cooperative. If you haven't gone go- parking is $10 and then of course the price of your ticket worth it for a family outing to see lights and enjoy the sights...side note most all the exhibits close at 5PM.....so don't expect to see the animals..just the lights.

We went here for the lights and they were absolutely gorgeous. Pictures didn't do them justice. Such an awesome zoo and pretty clean for the most part. I would suggest getting there early if you also plan on seeing the animals as most exhibit areas closed at 5 pm which we did not know and missed a ton of animals. It was also very crowded if you don't enjoy being shoulder to shoulder with people, the line to get in as we were leaving was all the way to the parking lot.

This was my first visit to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, and I am sure it won't be the last. Even though the temperature was hot the park has several places to go inside for quick cool downs. The park is easy to navigate. The exhibits were informative and interactive. The animals were active or visible too. My son (10) had a blast in the stingray pool with several opportunities to see and touch them up close. Overall a great day and I look forward to returning.

This is a great place to walk alone or with family or friends. Easy way to get some exercise too. It is one of the best zoos in the Midwest. It is very well kept and there is lots to see. Exhibits are great and make it easy to get a good look. You can actually walk inside the kangaroo exhibit. The Manatee exhibit is pretty cool. They have a carousel for the kids. A boat ride that takes you through a few exhibits. It is a short ride but a great way to get off your feet for a few minutes. I believe the boat ride was $2 a person. There is a food court also, but you can also just pack a lunch (no straws allowed). You definitely can save some money by buying a yearly zoo pass, which includes parking.

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is enormous! Be prepared to spend the better part of the day there. The animal habitats are modern with space for the animals and a lot of enrichment. The zoo is organized by region. Admixed are themed rides and activities as well as dining options The African savanna is large with grazing animals (giraffes, ostriches, zebras, wildebeests, etc) in an open environment. Binoculars would be helpful to bring if you have. Be sure to visit Frankie, the baby Asian elephant, and his family. The zoo also houses manatees undergoing rehabilitation and is only one of a few zoos that has manatees. Signage is excellent and many exhibits tell you about their individual animals. Volunteers on hand were quite knowledgeable, as well Unlike other zoos we recently visited, this zoo had adequately staffed food services and had most items available. The vegetarian black bean burgers are good and a safe vegetarian option (the were cooked separately from meat).

We went for a school field trip for my first grader. It was a gloomy day but the animals were still out and about. Saw lots of staff cleaning up inside and outside exhibits. The way this zoo is set up makes it super easy to get around. All of the staff I encountered were super friendly and very helpful. Train ride was only $2.00 a person! Really enjoyed our day here.

By far my favorite zoo in Ohio. This is the first time we've gone this late in the year and it's beautiful with the leaves changing. Since it was cooler more of the animals were active which we loved!! The new underwater tunnel for the seals is awesome & one of our favorite things there this year. Wasn't crowded at all. The Zoo and bathrooms are very clean & the staff is super friendly, great with kids! They've added Adventure Cove since I visited last & it looked like it could be fun, but you can only ride a few rides with a Zoo admission ticket. We LOVE Sting Ray bay. The stingrays get super playful when you're feeding them!!

My visit to the Columbus Zoo was truly incredible. The diversity of animals and their well-maintained habitats left me in awe. From playful penguins to majestic big cats, it's a wildlife enthusiast's dream. The staff's knowledge and passion shone through in their interactions, making it an enriching experience for all ages. It was a Halloween holiday, so seeing children in different costume was a plus. A must-visit for anyone in the area and nearby state.

We love this zoo! Over all worth the money. I highly recommend if you go you make it in all day thing. We didn't even get to see half of it since we arrived around noon, but with that being said our kids had a blast and a memorable experience. *It was $10 for parking *One tip I would suggest is that when they offer to take your photos do it keep all the cards and at the end visit the photo station, I wish I would have been told that we could have got all the photos for around $30 for the digital copy for everything that was taken that day. We only took about three photos so it just wasn't worth it to me, but I did buy our group family photo since there are nine of us and unfortunately we did not take any pictures together besides this one that day. *The zoo is clean, the animals all seem happy and well taken care of. *You can bring your own food and drinks with you. We did this and took a break in the shade it worked out well for our family.

We decided to come here on my wife's birthday. The place was very nice with a lot to see and do. The prices were a little high for what you get on the meal side of it. But like a movie theater they have to find a way to cover their expenses so it's understandable. Overall outside of the 90 degree day we had a very good time. 👍

We drove here from Kentucky. We visited on a Monday in July. It was warm, but there is plenty of shade for cooling off. We did the Red Panda Experience and it was worth every penny. I recommend bringing a refillable water bottle with you and you can get water at the fountains but you can also get free ice at the snack stations. It was fun for 2 adults... I can't wait to bring my kids in the future!

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium exceeded our very high expectations. Every exhibit was well themed, spacious, and full of activities for the animals. The pathways were well-marked and well-laod out. Water cups were available at all drink and food stands with fountain drink sales. The animals were allowed to choose whether to be in their outside or inside habitats. There were many species we had not seen in person before including sand cats, several reptiles, and polar bears. The reptile house was expansive and impressive. Personally, I have never seen a feline that I didn't love and the number of big (and small) cats at the zoo did not disappoint. I have only great things to say about this zoo. A couple of tips we discovered; definitely buy tickets and parking online, this makes entering so much faster; purchase a refillable drink mug and enjoy complimentary refills the day of purchase; ride the Dinosaur Boat Ride (additional $3 charge, worth it); and if possible, ride the zoo shuttle from the nearby Park-and-Ride for $3 tickets. Finally, the zoo has been collecting cards for Jack Hanna and his family. Jack Hanna spent his life educating people on animals via his TV appearances, shows, and the zoo itself. He is stricken with advanced Alzheimer's disease and no longer recognizes the zoo that he helped to shape. If anyone is so inclined, there is a small mailbox in the guest relations building, inside the zoo, next to the turnstiles where you can leave a card or note for him and his family.

Attended the Boo at the Zoo (4p-8p)event. Was a nice early evening when we arrived. Lot more people than we expected considering the pandemic. Many did not wear masks as required. Treats for the children were not organized properly nor many treat stands set up. Not many animals out to be seen. We had fun nonetheless. However, for the price of admission for 2 adults and one child and parking, $65, was not worth the 3 hours we were there. We made the best of it and Allison was happy so that is what matters most. We will most likely purchase a family season pass next year when the weather is nicer and all the animals are out and available to be seen. We do recommend the Columbus Zoo to visit. Godspeed to all.

WE GOT MARRIED TODAY!!!!!!! Then after we spent the night with our children at the Wildlights. I didn't want to go anywhere else. I like it simple and sweet. It was gorgeous! They all had so much fun. It was nice to finally get them out of the house. The Zoo did very well with following the social distancing guidelines while in lines and the workers kept getting on anyone that had their masks down as well! The workers were standing all over the Zoo monitoring everyone. GREATJOB AT TRYING TO KEEP US SAFE COLUMBUS ZOO!!!! It was a perfect day! It also is our 4 year anniversary from when we met AND my husband's birthday today 🥰 Happy Birthday Jason Charles, I love you so much ❤

Came here as a date, it was one of the most fun experiences I've had. I've been to a lot of zoos but this is hands down probably my new favorite. There is so much enrichment for the animals and they all look so happy and playful. A real joy to be at. I was happy to feel like a kid again for a day 💖

We planned our vacation around coming to Ohio and to this Zoo. It was fun, fun and more fun! Buy your tickets and your parking in advance and go to the front of the line. Get there early and you can park close so that when the day is over you are able to be right at your car. We spent eight hours and had a wonderful time. I strongly suggest buying the all-you-can-drink Pepsi cup with attached straw. It was a little over $10 but considering one drink is more than $3, it was well worth it and you have a souvenir 2021 cup. I also suggest buying a $14.99 band for your child if they like to ride rides in the amusement section of the zoo or if they like to ride the train and through the dinosaur portion. You can also ride a pony and a camel included in the fee. It is well well worth it. The workers were great this year. Be sure and arm yourself with plenty of sunscreen. There are some cool off spots with water sprays which are enjoyable by all. Jack Hanna's influence on this day has been amazing. We'll come back again.

Wonderful zoo with a water park and carnival rides! All of the staff were very helpful. Several people asked if they could help us find anything. Even my 9yo step daughter said she really liked the workers because they were so nice! We were randomly picked to receive free wristbands (I believe they have a corporate sponsor), so all of the rides were available for free. It rained, but we still saw most of the animals. We loved how much room they have and how many animals have multiple habitats! The girls loved touching the stingrays too!

Love this place! It's been 10 years since our last visit and we made a spur of the moment decision to stop by on our way home from visiting with family for Thanksgiving. Zoo lights did not disappoint! So much time and precise effort went into all of the displays! The light displays are vivid and dance to the holiday music playing throughout the park. To our surprise several of the animals were able to be seen. So much fun and Frankie, the 4 mos old baby elephant was so cute! Our littlest one truly had a blast. We hope to be back in the summer!

Very nice facility. Really no complaints. It's just a shame we don't have anything closer to where we live. Grand kids enjoy it. Would be nice if they would offer a discounted rate for handicap to use their motorized scooters. No matter how long you want to use it, it's still $37.00! One day we had an hour until close and they still wanted to charge the full rate! That's insane. They should definitely prorate if they want to keep customers.

Came here for the first time for the zoo lights experience! Definitely didn’t disappoint on a Sunday evening. There was a large showing with misty families. Most of the animal exhibits were understandably closed but ones such as the indoor reptiles and elephants were open. The main attraction was definitely the lights around the pond synchronized with Christmas music. Otherwise the lights leading into the African and Asian animal sections were pretty cool and great photo spots. Will have to visit again in the summer for the animals. Definitely recommend going with friends and family for a fun and memorable experience!

Great place to take kids. Price is overwhelming when you want drinks and food for a families on a budget. They do allow outside coolers so you can bring your own lunch which is awesome. When we arrived we were told they were closing at 3:00 for an event. So that is why I gave 4 stars. This should have been posted before we paid 10 bucks to park. Glad we arrived early enough to enjoy the park before it closed. We weren’t able to see everything! The park is very clean and plenty to do and see. Tip call or check the website prior to making a day of it, since they apparently close early often.

I love going to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. They have so many great animals to see. I especially enjoy the Pallas' cats, the bears, the sea lions and seals, the reptile house, the penguins, the tiger, and the manatees. The property is well kept, and the habitats for the animals are nice and spacious. It's a great place to take kids or to just spend an afternoon. You'll want to allow yourself plenty of time to see everything, though, as it's a large zoo! Definitely worth a visit, or several!

This zoo is one of the best I've ever been too. The animals are excellently cared for. They have zoo ambassadors at the exhibits to answer questions about the animals. There are multiple shows and demonstrations. The zoo offers private tours and experiences for an additional charge. It is huge and beautifully designed. There is a water park right next to it that I haven't explored. I have visited this zoo twice and each time I left completely exhausted. You could easily spend a couple days here to really get to see and do everything. They have food, alcohol and dessert available for purchase. The entire campus is non-smoking. There is plenty of parking, and a train inside the zoo and a shuttle to ride if you are parked far. The zoo has a couple of little rides. It's perfect and designed well for families or whomever to enjoy!

Christmas lights was one of the best displays I have seen bar none. Worth the trip for sure. If you are going to see animals go earlier in the day because a lot of displays of animals end about 5. The one bad thing I will say is if you go,plan on being stuck in parking lot for at least 2 hours or just camp in parking lot all night. No traffic direction to exit so therefore all night traffic jam

We had fun at the zoo. Fed the giraffe, petted the stingrays, got within 3 feet of a baboon (separated by a plexiglass wall), watched a lion posing for us on a rock, a hippo taking a bath, cheetahs strutting, and so many more active animals. It was a great visit.

Was visiting from out of town and decided to visit the zoo before heading home. LOVED it. The exhibits were wonderfully done. I loved how there were misting sprays and fans set up for the animals, all the employees were very friendly. The boat ride was very relaxing and enjoyable. Next time we are in Ohio, this definitely will be a stop again.

My first time to an aquarium and it was awesome! You are allowed to place your hands in with the doctor fish which was really neat. The second floor has more hands-on exhibits. You can touch sting rays and sea urchins. When going to shark canyon, the better viewing window is at the bottom of the down ramp. Also, right before going into the aquarium on the right hand side is where you can color a fish and watch it come alive on screen. It was free and really fun!

Me and my fiance took our 6 month old daughter here to see how interested she would be with animals other than our pets and bird feeders. Needless to say, she LOVED IT! Despite going during the winter months, she truly enjoyed her experience and we have always enjoyed the Columbus Zoo. Gorillas have always been our favorite so it's always pleasant to visit their exhibit. 10/10 would highly recommend for all ages. Educational as well.

It's a nice zoo. Kid friendly. Some of the animals look kind of sad or stressed. But most of them are pretty active even when it's hot out. The water park is massive and seems to be the main attraction. Good place for a date or to wander around. Parking is 10 dollars. Overall I had a good time and recommend it if you fancy a zoo visit.

Amazing Zoo! Animals appeared energetic, healthy with nice enclosures and great enrichment activities. Really enjoyed watching the animals playing and having fun. Fairly good size zoo, well maintained, plenty of RV parking, and great family activity. There is a parking fee. It was not very busy and after a couple of short rain showers the people pretty much cleared out but the animals were still having a grand time. A lot of baby animals to see at this zoo too. Even saw the 6 week old baby elephant!

What an amazing time this evening at Zoo Lights. Our little 2 year old was running around everywhere and having a great time. Bathrooms were super clean and when we were close to the s'mores experience, an employee named Felicity was super nice and offers some Graham crackers to our son. She and April were very polite and talkative as well as making sure we had a great family picture. Employees like them definitely make us happy to be Columbus area residents so we can come back again and again.

We went for the holiday lights and it was worth the 2 and a half hour drive for us. We also arrive close to opening time before it got flooded with people at sun set so that was a smart move. It felt like the entire zoo was ours. The downside was that half of the animals were gone but that’s completely understandable as no decent person would want animals to freeze for our entertainment. Regardless, we had a beautiful walk through the entire place twice. Once for animals and second time around for the lights. The huge LED Christmas tree is the star of the night as it is just a technology marvel to view. SO MUCH EYE CANDY! Follow me on maps for great photos and detailed reviews 😊

This was a great experience for me and the family. We were able to walk around the zoo close to closing time get some pretty good stuff from the merchandise store and enjoy some time together walking around. The only downfall was the attitude of the gentleman working the gate to pay when going to the carousel. That guy has a major attitude problem and probably shouldn't work in a place where he has to be around people if that's how he's going to treat people. It was unfortunate that we didn't get to see many animals but it was neat to see the new exhibit at the front of the zoo. This was the first time that we've gone to the zoo since covid started and the girls that were at the sea lion exhibit or extremely nice and friendly and intelligent when it comes to animals that they were looking after.

Its nice to visit the zoo in the Winter to help support them when they don't get the volumes of people during the nicer weather. Today was nice, sunny but in the low 30's. They have a nice amount of exhibits open, and many are inside. A nice way to offset the chilly weather. Looking forward to returning next ime we are in the area for a few days.

Love this zoo! So many different areas to see and do things. I felt the bathrooms and water fountain were very easily accessible throughout. I suggest mapping out what areas or animals are most important to visit on trip it could be very easy to run out of time or steam to visit every area in one day. I highly recommend this zoo.

Beautiful facility and expansive layout. The animals are all in well thought out habitats/living areas that make visiting almost like being in a tiny bit of their natural habitat. The camel ride for $7 was a huge success for a 5 year old and a 16 year old and they did not have to wait very long. The lines for feeding the giraffes were extremely long. With Covid-19 there is timed and limited entry but it still seems busy (we visited on a Saturday). Prices in the gift stores were surprisingly affordable.

This is such a nice zoo! It is very clean and the animals have a lot of room. The staff is wonderful! They spent some time with me answering questions about the amazing gorillas. There are several different areas to see animals. Plan on spending 4 or more hours to see everything. Note: I would not plan on eating here other than a snack. The food is mediocre and overpriced like most zoos and amusement park.

Lovely Zoo, brilliant day out, definitely worth the 2 hours drive there. Parking was fine, the parking lot is huge. Queueing was pretty much none at the entrance, thanks to time slotted ticketing system. Attractions were interesting, children definitely enjoyed them. The giraffe and elephant feeding was a great hit, too! Lots of lovely memories have been brought home.

We had such a good day there. So much to see and do. To go round and see it all in one day, is impossible. So we will be back soon to make sure that we do see it all. With so much going on round you, it's so easy to lose track of time and before you know it, it's time to go. There were lots of benches so you could have lunch and a quick drink. And caffe shops and reasonably priced too. We got to feed the giraffes, but unfortunately the battery on my phone went dead, so no photos at this time. Luckily, we had a camera so we did get planty photos. We were blessed with a beautiful dry day till round 4 oclock and than it started to pour down. All and all , it was a wonderful time/experience for our two little ones. 👍👍

I thought it was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was ample staff for the low crowds when I went. Granted, it was a weekday at 2 o'clock during covid season. Not sure how full the place gets on weekends. I can see that the price is a little high for some people, especially if it was busy in there. But having the place eventually to ourselves made the experience worth the 25 dollar admission. Took about an hour and a half for us to get through.

The aquarium was a fun and neat adventure for the entire family. Being able to see all the different types of sea wildlife was interesting. My kids favorite part was being able to touch sting rays and sharks. The time spent there was about an hour and a half to see all the exhibit exhibits. The only issue is that no one was social distancing. Being in close quarters with the amount of people who were there made it difficult. Union Station as a whole was enjoyable too. Having other activities, food, and a place just to soak in the scenery all in one spot was convenient. My family spent the afternoon and evening all there and time just flew by. If you are visiting St. Louis this is a place that is worth the time and money you spend.

I love St Louis it's my hometown so I got to give it five stars!!!! Saying that as far as new technological stuff the screens the ceilings best I've ever seen in an aquarium!! Tanks could definitely be better in the shark Canyon area. To this day the best shark tanks I've seen is Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg. Overall this is a wonderful must-see visit and a great addition to St Louis.

This is the BEST aquarium I've ever been to. I LOVED this so much. There are covid-19 restrictions, but you can still interact with the animals. Everything at this aquarium was AMAZING. If you love sea animals and creatures and want to know about their past there are plenty of employees at every station which were insanely nice, and there are plaques with information about every animal you see. I love this place

Cool visit, the African exhibit is really impressive to see, it looks like what I've seen before on Big Cat Diary and has lots of animals over a big area. The bears are impressive and the gibbons entertain. The kangaroo enclosure is a walk through and they could come out close but stayed off the path this visit. Missed going to Asia but the rest was really cool to see.

My nephew loves zoos, so when they came from Georgia, I told them we needed to go here. I grew up knowing about Jack Hanna and this zoo since I'm from Ohio, while also coming here as a kid. It's a phenomenal place and it really allows you to feel more interactive with the animals while really educating you about each animal along with how their environments have changed over the years. It truly is a beautiful zoo and you can certainly tell the love for the animals. I wouldn't not pass Columbus Zoo up if you're within the area.

I am an advocate of all animals being treated humanely and cared for to the best of your abilities. With this being said, although nothing compares to an animal being out in their natural environment, these animals seemed very healthy and well taken care of. This made my heart as happy as it could be while taking in seeing all these animals in captivity. And even though half of the zoo was closed for the winter season due to many animals having to be inside or moved to a warmer climate, I absolutely LOVED it and can't wait to go back when it is in full swing! We had such a great time! And the abandoned baby manatee they are rehabilitating is the cutest thing I've ever seen! And bring your walking shoes because it is big and has LOTS to see and venture through no matter what time of the year you go!

I really like this zoo. Not that I have been to many other (maybe 4) but it is pretty big. I have a small child so I cannot do the entire zoo in one big trip but in over 7 hours in 2 trips I still wasn't able to cover the whole zoo (to say nothing of the water park or adventure cove). Many of the observation points allow the animals to get rather close, but don't force them so. This translates to a few of the animals really sticking out in a trip. I liked it enough to get a zoo membership because it is a good way to spend a day off with the family without breaking the bank.

This Zoo was amazing! It was in the 30's today, however the animals that were out were so active! It was nice to see them enjoying the weather (bears, foxes, wolves, reindeer, moose). The indoor viewing platforms were clean and with less traffic we were able to take our time in the reptile houses and really view the animals! We had a wonderful time and plan to come back in the summer!!

Not sure I can give this too accurate of a review with seemingly everything being closed due to weather (even in late March). The manatees, seal, and gorilla exhibits were neat. Employees were very helpful and all over. I'm sure it's great in better weather but I'd avoid spending money on it during colder months.

While the zoo is still not fully open for the season, there was plenty to do and my kids had a terrific time. We were there for over three hours and did not come close to seeing everything. No birds are currently on display for the safety of the animals because of the high numbers of cases of avian flu in the wild. Again, there was still plenty to see. My 3 year old loved the play structure for kids. I, on the other hand, will be having nightmares for years to come from the caterpillar slide. The baby elephant was adorable. We had a blast and will definitely be back to enjoy Zoombezi Bay this summer.

Absolutely loved coming here with my family! We arrived at 11am and was wore out by 4pm. So we skipped out on a few sections. However, from what we did experience… it was fantastic. Lots of opportunities for photos, up close encounters and learning experiences with zoo staff. The Zoo is enormous and I highly recommend spending 2 days in the area if coming from out of town to experience it fully. It’s worth it!

They had so many different animals. Their habitats were very impressive with detail and were clean. They had staff everywhere and they were talking about the animals. We were even able to see them training the animals with the red and green cards. We were able to pet and also feed stingrays. Fed giraffes. Watched the cheetah run. Walked through the kangaroos (they were all laying down napping) and several bird enclosures for up close experiences. My spouse and I did the entire park in just one day, but I would suggest taking 2 days as it's a lot to see and a lot of walking. They also have scooters available to rent. You can also bring in food and drinks. It was everything and even more than I expected after watching the Columbus Zoo on television.

We had a great day at the zoo. They have QR code that you can scan to have the map right on your phone or they offer paper maps as well. They had great signage too so it was easy to follow and find your way around. There were volunteers at a lot of the animal viewing areas that shared information about the animals we were seeing. They have plenty of seats throughout for breaks. You can take in drinks and snacks too which is a great way to save some money. They do have stands throughout for food and even offer Great Lakes draft beer. They have a great food court too. The outdoor area is covered with plants so you get plenty of shade. We saw a good amount of animals. We learned a lot we didn’t know about different species too. I would recommend you check it out.

This was the best experience I've ever had. You may need more than a day to explore and see everything or have to be there early, but it's worthwhile. Be prepared for a lot of walking because it's a very big zoo. We weren't able to see a lot of animals due to warm weather as they were napping and / or out of sight, but overall, we had a great experience. Food prices are overwhelming, so if you're on a budget, it is better to bring your own food. The parking fee is $10. They also have rides and waterpark, which we didn't get a chance to check or ride. Will be back to explore whatever we have missed.

Huge zoo. We definitely didn’t get through the entire place in 1 day. The lay out and different zones were a really cool concept. I really liked how there were many different views and viewing angles for one exhibit. The aquarium was sad though, if we’d known that prior to we probably would’ve skipped it. I would definitely come back though to try and get the full zoo in a single day.

Not worth the drive from NH. This was one of the main reasons for our road trip but so much that we came to see was closed or not on exhibit. It seemed like it's staffed by collage kids so once they go back to school it's a ghost town. Definitely disappointed but glad we checked it off our list and saw the baby gorilla. The zoo is huge so it would be helpful to have a list of closed exhibits at the entrance so you don't waste time walking to them all only to find closed.

We visited to experience the Wildlights Christmas. The lights are wonderful to stroll and see. We visited to see the animals before the lights. Some areas were closed due to construction and/or weather. We still saw a lot of animals, though. The crowd was minimal during day light hours but picked up a lot for the light displays. Tickets are $30. Parking is $10. Definitely recommend visiting during the holiday season.

Our first time to the Columbus Zoo. It wasn't over crowded and we could walk around easily. If you're a Hot Chocolate fan I would highly recommend getting the souvenir cups that you can get free refills as you go throughout the night. Wait times at the food carts are not horrible either! And very nice staff members.

This is an amazing experience. I cannot say how amazing this zoo is. It is very large, you can easily spend 5 or 6 hours here. It is spread out so you don't feel crowded. There were many food and drink stations so you had lots of items to choose from. The zoo was broken up into different areas. The animal enclosures were huge, but you were able to see the animals very well. Anyone who visits Columbus needs to make their way to the zoo. You will enjoy it!!!

We had a blast visiting the Wildlights at the Zoo over the holiday break! Such a great atmosphere, even during covid! Beautiful holiday lights and cute animals! Ok, the bats, not so cute...interesting maybe. The stingrays were awesome! I have never seen stingrays that literally acted more like dogs or cats coming to be petted, they literally would turn around and come back to the first person instead of keeping in the giant loop around the whole pool. They seemed to have personalities or someone gave them catnip for fish?! Not sure, but maybe because it was after 5pm? Anyways they were really active when we were there. The bears were out cold, but we got to see them, both the polar and the brown (?) bears. It was cold, but so fun!

What an incredible zoo/aquarium! Everything you'd want in this place! Go during their "holiday" lights display, and brave the cold for fewer people and closer interactions with the animals! Plan on spending ALL DAY - you'll need it, and you'll be happy you did!

The zoo is always a wonderful place, even in the dead of winter. Make sure to block out at least 4-6 hours to see all the animals. They're doing pretty well at social distancing right now, however I would still suggest coming at a less busy time (week day early mornings are probably the best bet, if you can), there's only so much they can do once there's crowds of people. Even when it's snowing outside there still can be quite a few animals to see. Though still pay attention to the exhibit closings, all of Africa is closed in winter, and parts of the Congo and Asia as well I believe. Either way it was a wonderful time and if you plan to visit more than twice a year a membership is the way to go.

I have not been here in probably 6-8 years, but I went for my birthday back in December and I was amazed!! This zoo has come so far and I got to see so many animals being active that I've only ever seen sleeping before at other zoos. I absolutely love the Columbus Zoo! We have been members for 2 years now and they never disappoint us! The young lady working in "Africa" last night could use some lessons in her manners but that's honestly the first employee I have came across that has ever been rude! We will continue to enjoy the zoo, for years to come, hopefully!

This is a fantastically compact zoo, suitable for all ages. Everything is easily accessible. The staff are always friendly and you can get right up close to most of the animals. Set in the beautiful Essex hills, it's a place to escape to for the day. Themed in such a way that it could feel a little like an amusement park, rather than just feeling like a huge field with fences around animals. Well worth the yearly membership.

This is one of the best zoos to visit. Please support it when the lockdown restrictions are lifted. It costs so much to run the zoo and every penny counts. An amazing place for young and old to get up close to some of nature's most wonderful animals. The work and development of the zoo speaks volumes for what they are trying to achieve, we have been many many times and there is never a dull moment.

Attended Colchester Zoo today with family, greeted by friendly members of staff who checked you in. Everyone compiling with face covering in the indoor areas. One route round the Zoo which allows you to see everything. Toilet are clean, as is the eating areas. Some true remarkable animals here. The kids especially loved the elephants and rhinos. Would highly recommend a trip here.

Fantastic zoo! Saw so many animals looking happy and lots of enrichment. Great to see good spaces for their animals and viewing areas that let us get up close with the animals without intruding on them! Top tip.. What a brilliant time was had here for my daughter's seventh birthday treat. Such excellent value for money. Lovely animals loads to do for kids and excellent facilities. The many cafes in site were so clean and full of choice and priced very good. Have a lovely day here and can't wait to come again even though it's two hours from our home. Very helpful friendly staff and all the animals and enclosures were well looked after. We learnt a lot of facts too. Would recommend everyone visit here. Would give a hundred stars of I could. Definitely buying a season ticket gold card. Thank you for making my daughter's birthday weekend special. Covid safe and plenty of places to wash and sanitise your hands. Well done Colchester zoo xx

A great day out for the family. The zoo has a wonderful collection of animals with new arrivals throughout the year (helping conservation). Our favourite area is the African animals where you can see Rhino (including 2 babies), Giraffe and Elephants. The facilities are well looked after and the catering offering is good. Currently there is a one way system in operation to aid social distancing. You do need to pre-book - social media channels will let you know when tickets are released. Definitely worth a visit.

One of my favourite zoo's. Nice and big so you can easily spend all day here. I have been prior to covid and again this year in October. Previously it has been very busy, but lockdown has made the mass of people less, which has made it nicer to walk around the zoo. I have children ranging in ages 4-9 and they all love the zoo. Lots of walking and areas to stop to have a munch. The parks are good for the children too, which I leave until last so they're definitely knackered 🤣 the only disappointing thing is that you don't always get to see all of the animals, like the bears. I haven't seen them both trips I have made to the zoo, and I walk around the zoo several times when I have visited. But I'd definitely recommend a visit

Pretty good aquarium experience. The jellyfish and seahorse exhibits were amazing and absolutely worth visiting. I didn't expect that some of the exhibits would be outside though (the weather was freezing during the winter). Their polar bear exhibit was under renovation at the time of our visit (December 2019), so we didn't get to see polar bears. Their bistro cafe food is also quite decent. You can get a sandwich with 2 salad sides or soup for 12$.

  • 3/5 Andrea H. 3 years ago on Google
It was fine. Kinda like when you ask your wife if she's ok and she tells you she's fine. Decent Covid19 prevention. Clean washrooms. Kind and congenial staff. The sea horse exhibit and and jellyfish were awesome.

  • 3/5 Anthony S. 4 years ago on Google
The aquarium here was fine. It was clean and easy to navigate. Unfortunately when we were there the polar bear exhibit was closed, which would have been amazing to see. It felt a bit on the smaller side compared to other aquariums I have been to as well. I enjoyed by time there, but I would not go back again. If you have about 3 hours to kill, it is worth the time to go. Just do not expect to be blown away. There are a ton of hands on exhibits for kids in the different buildings, so children would enjoy it much more than an adult.

  • 4/5 Patrick A. 3 years ago on Google
The fish are so peaceful and calming to look at. Very nice walk, indoors and out.

  • 4/5 David T. 3 years ago on Google
Great experience the kids love the place. The animals are active and the place is well maintained. My kids are big fans of the jellyfish which there are a ton there, the playground and the small water park are very nice too. Only thing is the largest building is crowded with a massive line which takes literally forever to get through I left my wife and kids to play while I did it otherwise It would have been impossible to have the kids wait patiently. But overall a gear few hours experience if you're not stressed by time.

  • 4/5 Tareq N. 4 years ago on Google
I have been in many aquariums around the world and this one was really good but I expected more polar animals such as polar bear and others but there was not many . The garden outside was amazing with a lot of sand sculptures and colorful flowers, and nice pools for the seals. Some of the animals inside need more space and better way of displaying. Something was amazing and I really like is the teaching and the scientific purpose of every thing inside, a lot of helpful information and fun facts all around which they deserve appreciation for.

It's better to buy the tickets online,,, because of the covid-19,,, there's line up for tickets and indoor aqua. But the aquarium is clean and fun without crazy line up,,just feel a bit small,,,At the end ,i want to buy some souvenir, but the line up was crazy, feel a bit sad

My family enjoyed our visit at the Aquarium of Quebec. They've got a quite large variety of large fishes. There's even a tunnel where you will see yourself surrounded by them. Surprisingly, they also had other animals (walrus, dolphins, wolf and owles). The best part was the jelly fish exhibit. It was breathtaking. The only shortfall is that the visit in the acquarium itself felt kind of short.

I think it's a bit expensive for how small it is. It also says they would prefer you to buy online due to Covid and you choose a time slot. It was still really packed and we were in line for about 30 min after the time slot. I did like the learning exhibits that are upstairs where they have certain creatures and they tell you about them, they were very knowledgeable which is great to see.

  • 5/5 Chloe J. 3 years ago on Google

This was a fun little aquarium. I did not feel that there was enough here to make it particularly enjoyable. Our toddler enjoyed many of the hands-on exhibits. Awesome experience! They had so many different fish and other ocean animals there it was fun to be able to see them all. You could bet some smaller sharks and stingray as a part of your ticket as well as two floors of aquarium! We can’t wait to go back and try out some of the extras there as well

  • 1/5 Amanda B. 3 years ago on Google
Extremely rude staff. We were harassed by a worker after we left the mirror maze and were figuring out where we were going next that “We weren’t allowed to just be up here without tickets to anything”. Really great treatment after spending over $100 on 45 minutes at the place. Sold tickets online to parts of it that weren’t even open. Awful experience. If it was run better I’d probably be giving it 5 stars because the aquarium itself was pretty well done.

  • 3/5 Angelica E. 3 years ago on Google
It's just too expensive for what it is. Kind of a one and done thing. This will be our only time attending. Period. The entrance is so beautiful it kind of sets the rest up for disappointment because it's unlike any other aquarium. It's small, not a lot to do at all. If it costs less we would come again, but at this price no way.

Didn't really seem like employees knew what they were doing...started at the ticket booth (took forever and tickets wouldn't print), the mirror maze (no instructions posted for any sort of protocol, so not sure how they can holler at people), and rudeness going on at the ropes. Slightly disappointed.

It's a large zoo so plan your trip and download a map so you don't miss any of the awesome animals. The docents in every region (people in the red shirts) are very helpful and knowledgeable so don't be afraid to ask them questions. Try one the specialty tours, sunrise on the savanna or after hours tour. Take your time to explore all the areas and learn about the animals. Have fun!!

We went in the dead of winter, most outside animals were not available. But there was still alot to see. The staff was friendly and helpful though there weren't many around. It was nice moving around the zoo with no huge crowd. But becprepared to walk, it is a big zoo. My only negative comment is you have to sit down to take drink if water. You are not aloud to walk and drink, or eat.

I absolutely loved it here. It was very cold but you can walk building to building to keep warm. We spent over 5 hours walking around and I am sure we missed a lot too. My highlight was the Polar bears. They have a wonderful set up for viewing. You can look through the glass and see them or go downstairs and see them from under the water.

I have always loved this zoo. But today (early March) a LOT of things were closed, both exhibits and eating options. Some off this is covid related and will change in time, but it's a bit disappointing. Right now, it is best to bring your own food.

  • 5/5 Sarah S. 3 years ago on Google
We had a great experience at the zoo! I appreciated that tickets were half price because it is still off season and many animals were not out. However, we felt like we still saw so much! Zoo is well laid out and precautions for covid are well organized.

his is an exquisite revel in. I can't say how amazing this zoo is. it's miles very massive, you may without difficulty spend 5 or 6 hours right here. it's miles unfold out so that you do not experience crowded. There have been many foods and drinks stations so that you had lots of objects to choose from. The zoo become broken up into one-of-a-kind areas. The animal enclosures were big, however you had been capable of see the animals very wel

I always had a great experience at Columbus zoo. Been to various other zoos in Texas, Maine and few other places. Columbus zoo has been always our favorite. We do have a family member ship and that's always a bonus. I would highly recommend to get a membership. There is always various events that takes place there. Winter lights has always been our favorite. We don't miss it. African safari is the best.

This was my first visit to this zoo. One of the biggest plus is that it’s a very walkable park. I would have brought my elderly parents. The biggest downside is during this time of year 60% of the attractions are closed during the week because students go back to school. The first day we went most of the animals were sleeping or nowhere to be found. The aquarium is very small. My son did enjoy the Dino boat ride. We ended up going back the next day thinking we could see more animals. We went during the end of the day thinking I could save some money since the zoo would be closing in a 45 mins. Not the case, parking and admission full price. My son is a huge zoo lover and we weren’t impressed. Cincinnati zoo is much better from what we saw.

  • 5/5 Ahmad 2 years ago on Google
We had a great moments here, it was Sunday, 70 f cloudy and crowded! My kids enjoyed in all rides. I wouldn't recommend families to visit this zoo only one day! At least you need 2 days. Definitely, we'll visit it again.

  • 5/5 Mark M. 2 years ago on Google
Great zoo; below average aquarium. You can feed the giraffes at a high rise platform they have setup for a few bucks. My wife loved it. The leopards were out and about, very interested in a service dog that was nearby. Bring your walking shoes though. It takes a long time to clear all the exhibits while dodging the crowds. The aquarium portion of the zoo is really small and really not that impressive.

I failed to take many photos from our trip here last Saturday, but had a truly exceptional experience. We came as a group for the second anniversary of our business opening, and the whole staff had a great time. We had an awards ceremony and food banquet at the private event space near the carousel, the space was breathtaking and very accommodating. I love this zoo and its various programs, conservation efforts, and generally the space itself. I could not recommend it enough. If you’re from out of town and looking for a great time with the family, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is word class.

  • 5/5 Carolyn F. 2 years ago on Google
It's a fantastic zoo in every possible way. It's so big that it's really hard to see everything in a day. We spent 4 hours there moving pretty fast and, due to how hot the day was getting, to skip all of Africa. So it's definitely worth a trip but just be aware that it isn't a quick half a day thing.

  • 5/5 Norm Bour -Travel Y. 2 years ago on Google
The San Diego zoo is considered one of the best in the United States and since I used to live an hour away I was there many times. But, I must say that the Columbus zoo out shines it. It has lots of space to walk around, and it flows very naturally. High praise for the people behind it.

  • 5/5 Cynthia F. 2 years ago on Google
Some of the animals were put up when it rained thank goodness but over all it was a great experience. I would recommend getting the souvenir cup because the day your there it's free refills. After that they are only .93 cents.

  • 5/5 Dean T. 2 years ago on Google

We always have an amazing time at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium! On this visit we had the pleasure of watching the sea lion show, it was spectacular! The bond that the trainers have with these animals is heart warming! The level of dedication these ladies have should be applauded! Truly awe inspiring! Please add more shows like this so we can see the bonds the other animals have with their trainers! This is why I love the zoo so much❤

  • 5/5 Jessica D. 2 years ago on Google
One of the best Zoos I've been to. Lots of places to see, easy to navigate, train available, handicap trails available, and lots of little pop ups for treats, snacks, drinks, beer, gifts, and face painting. Wear some comfy shoes but pathways are very nice. I wished they had an octopus.

  • 5/5 Craig B. 2 years ago on Google
Probably best to visit during the week. Gets crowded quickly on the weekends especially when the weather is nice. The new seal and sea lion exhibit is wonderful.l recommend buying a season pass if you plan on going more than once. This will save you money and time.l know their has been talk lately of some bad dealings committed by the owners and representatives of the zoo. Okay. File it and enjoy this place. I'm going to put some photos of the Christmas display on here.

A fun night for the whole family! Decorated very well for the Boo at the Zoo! And its not too scary so it's perfect for younger kids. They could have been a bit more generous with the candy for the kids (kids stood in a ridiculously long line for one piece of candy, at all 13 stations), but the animals were wonderful! The carved pumpkins were amazing too! We had a great time all in all. (We let the kids hit the candy stations a second time too!) Would recommend!

  • 5/5 ERICA B. 2 years ago on Google
I can't ever say that I've had a bad day at the Columbus zoo. There's always something new to see every time you go. They host many events throughout the year seasonally and reasonable prices! If you go early the lines are much quicker to get through in the areas that you have to get in line for. And it's absolutely humongous and will take you an entire day to get through the entire park.

  • 5/5 Mark D. N. 2 years ago on Google
We love visiting the Columbus Zoo there are so many beautiful animals reptiles and all kinds of creatures there. One of the best things about it is they give the animals enough room to freely move about and live comfortably in a good environment many others use don't do this. The African plains and Cheetah run have to be my favorites. Although if you go into see the stingrays and pet them it's quite an amazing experience They love being pet.

  • 5/5 Jessica H. 2 years ago on Google
The Columbus Zoo is absolutely top notch. I've been to several other zoos and this one is by far the best! The animals are well cared for, the grounds are well maintained, the staff is friendly, and there is always a good time to be had. The zoo is so large you really can't see it all in one day without rushing through all the exhibits and skipping at least a few.

  • 5/5 Timothy P. 2 years ago on Google
Lions, tigers, and bears and many more at the Columbus Zoo. We had a awesome time at Boo at the Columbus Zoo with our family that lives in Ohio. It always fun when we get to visit with my brother's family. The Boo at the zoo has plenty to do for young and old. This Zoo is massive and will take you all day to see everything. There is also a water park and amusement area that was closed when we went. Staff was very friendly everywhere we went. Only complaint was the bathrooms weren't that cleaned but it comes with Zoos and amusement parks.

Lots of fun animals and cool exhibits. Great place for all ages! Love that they are open all year. The idea of camel rides was super unique and neat. There wasn't many food options to choose from, and the indoor food court was at the far back on the left side. We had to skip a lot to get there to cool off for a moment and get away from bees. The size that you see when googled is including "the wilds safari" so the zoo itself isn't actually 580 acres of walking around and exploring exhibits. The aquarium was underwhelming, considering it being advertised we expected a lot more. But over all a wonderful experience.

  • 4/5 N K (. 2 years ago on Google
Very nice zoo! Majority of exhibits were open and animals seem well cared for and happy. It’s a huge space so expect to spend at least a few hours on your feet. However for you convenience benches and respite stations are plentiful throughout. We went during weekday and found they were still moderately crowded.

Perfect place to spend a day with kids and family. Enjoyed the Dino ride and few other rides. The aquarium was very small. We have a family pass and we go often during weekend and my kid really liked this place a lot. We went during weekend and enjoyed a lot and the place was little crowded. My kid always enjoys feeding giraffe and we just need to pay three dollars for single basket. We also went on the boo at the zoo day and kids were dressed in Halloween costumes. Kids enjoyed collecting candies

Absolutely amazing people work here. On our red panda experience: Tom, the woman who was helping him, the red panda keeper. On our twilight golf cart tour: our driver Joy and her young lady helper (and Tom again!) And a HUGE thanks to Brianna who fielded more phone calls than anyone should ever have to with grace and patience. Let me explain. I have an adult daughter with mobility and vision deficiencies and trying to figure out what she would be able to see and do was a bit of a challenge. Brianna served as liaison between us and the keepers so my girl got to experience something "normal" (her word, not mine) people get to do and she had the time of her life!! Through a ton of teamwork the zoo staff arranged for a folding chair to be brought into the red panda exhibit, helped us guide her through the twisted trail up to the exhibit door (she had to be out of her scooter to make this 30 ft walk) and then maneuvered her through the double safety doors so she could sit in the chair and participate in the red panda experience. Then reverse the process afterwards. WAY ABOVE EXPECTATIONS!!!! And then, after that awesome experience, we get on the tour with Joy and she gets us into the most amazing parts of the zoo and with the best close up views of the animals. We were so close to the cheetahs my daughter could see their spots! It was wonderful!! I can't say enough good things about these people. It was so obvious that they love their jobs and care about not only the animals but the people who want to see and learn about them. Definitely worth your time--be sure to check out the special experiences you can do!!

We have been Zoo members for a while. This year's Boo at the Zoo was good! The Zoo looked nice, all dressed up for Halloween. The candy stations had obvious enter and exit signs, attended by zoo workers, who kept things moving in a (COVID) safe manner. We'll be back next year!

  • 5/5 Misty T. 2 years ago on Google
We went there for my youngest daughters birthday this year. I highly recommend buying a wristband for the carousel, Pony, camel boat, moose and train ride. Is you buy it it's much cheaper than paying individually. A few animals weren't available for viewing due to covid but its was still very fun.

The zoo is so nice! The polar bear exhibit is my absolute favorite. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The food court area has a lot of different and delicious options. I love that the gift shop sells prints from one of my favorite local artists, Dino Nemec. All around great experience!

  • 4/5 Matt M. 1 year ago on Google
Great family place and yeah we all know about inflation, but even before 2021 the prices for a simple drink is $4! $2.50 - $3 I could do/understand. They should go with quantity over $$$ bottled water! (Plus food is $$$ so expect Disney World prices) Sell a LOT more that way, guarantee. Other than that nit-pick is it's great, but if you got young ones, try to avoid super hot days. You'll most likely only get to see 1-2 exhibits. A+

  • 5/5 Trey F. 1 year ago on Google
Really an excellent experience. The zoo staff was extremely friendly and helpful, offering advice about upcoming events and interesting animal facts. We got there right when they opened (9:00) and started until 4:30, we almost made it through the whole place! Our kids had an amazing time even if they were exhausted by the end. If I had it to do over I would take the shuttle to Africa and work my way back instead of walking that area twice. In any case, we will definitely be back, in fact we plan to finish the rest of the zoo tomorrow morning and spend the afternoon at Zoombezi Bay.

  • 5/5 Deb A. 1 year ago on Google
We had a wonderful day at the zoo. It wasn't too crowded so so we could see the animals easily. We spent a lot of time with the primates and will need to visit again to see the areas we didn't get to. Beautiful zoo, well kept. We also love the TV show!

  • 4/5 Ken S. 10 months ago on Google
It's a very large zoo! Prepare for a lot of walking. It was in the 90's when I visited, and many of the animals were seeking to be out of the sun and therefore out of sight. The grounds were nicely maintained. Plenty of places to get food and drinks. My seven year old grandson was entertained and enjoyed the experience, that was enough to go here

  • 5/5 MG s. 9 months ago on Google
Excellent Zoo! We traveled 9hrs and camped at a nearby campground to come to the Zoo and The Wilds! My son wants to be a Zoologist and has seen every episode from "Secrets of the Zoo" and got a chance to meet some of the staff from the show... Not only were they extremely friendly, but went above and beyond by allowing us to go behind the scenes to talk and show him what it means to be a keeper!

  • 5/5 David McSpadden H. 10 months ago on Google
Best zoo I have ever visited! All the animals have large habitats and we loved seeing every one of them. All the landscaping was excellent. Plenty of shade as you are walking from one area to the next. I recommend you pet a stingray.

  • 4/5 Hiba R. 10 months ago on Google
Definitely a great zoo and decent selection of activities and experiences. We went on Mother’s Day probably something better to do in the summer with the water park. A little too much like a theme park than a traditional zoo. Still a great place to take your family. A lot of nice playgrounds and picnic spots.

Incredible zoo and water park! My family and I paid for two of the behind the scenes events (Jack Hanna and the Safari Ride) and these were so amazing we want to go back. We also fed the sting rays which was so fun. Very affordable considering everything we did that day. My only suggestion is to get there early or spend two days there in order to see everything. One of the best zoos I have ever been to. 🦓🦒🦚🦡🦛

This is by fair the biggest and best zoo I have ever been to. We went here on our way down from New York and it was a great decision. We spent 5 hours at the zoo saw plenty of animals. The zoo was very clean, staff was helpful and friendly and they had a lot of displays and beautiful landscaping.

Zoo is clean and the exhibits always look maintained. Probably not going to see everything in a day, because there's a lot to see. Food/drinks are way overpriced, definitely recommend bringing a water bottle. For a family of 5 we spent $90 on burgers (singles) and kids meals with drinks. All in all, it's good time, just be mindful of food/drink expenses.

We've wanted to go for years and we finally decided to do it on our trip down south. It did not disappoint. We enjoyed all of it. We could barely walk by the end of the ay as we made sure to see everything. We did a the Animal Health Tour and that was fascinating. Would love to go again.

This zoo/aquarium is amazing! One of my favorite things is the attention to detail, putting everything in a theme of where the animals originated. There's so much to do and see that it could easily be a 2 day thing. We will deff be back to explore.

We love going to the zoo. The Columbus zoo is hands down the best zoo in the state. The people working are always so kind and informative. Stingray Bay is always a huge favorite for the kids. They love petting the Stingray. This is free with admission, not an add-on like other activities. There is so much to do that you can spend all day there and still not see everything.

I frequent the Toledo Zoo more than Columbus and I've found that natives to NW Ohio have this thing where the Toledo Zoo is somehow "objectively" the best when it's not, not at all. Definitely not in the state of Ohio. Columbus Zoo is larger, better newer exhibits, more entertaining displays (Cheetah display is worth the trip alone) and a much larger variety of species. We travel a good distance once or twice a year to visit this zoo because it's just that good. This time my oldest 2 had an incredible time and are looking forward to doing it again.

Was fun. So much to see and had little time to see much due to time constraints. But, I did see the main exhibits on my list which were the seal and stingray exhibits. They were both fantastic. Especially the seal exhibit. You literally walk through the tank. So awesome!

This zoo is one of the best zoos in the USA. We had a blast here. It will take you all day if you want to see everything. They have lots of rides and a 4d theater. (Which wasn't very focused when we was there, the animals had 4 eyes!) We went on a Wednesday an it wasn't busy at all, although with school being in session now most the rides are only open on the weekend. I wish they would have made that clear on their website a few weeks before so we could have planned accordingly. Other than these 2 things, the zoo is very clean. They have lots of staff that are knowledgeable about the animals and will answer questions and give info. To get discount tickets, buy them at the local Krogers. It will save you alot of money 💰

I loved the zoo and aquarium!! A lot of walking but well worth it!! Seen the trainers feed the sea lions and they took time to explain things to all of us that stopped by!! Employees are informative and that enhances the experience!!

The Columbus zoo may not be fancier than other famous zoos in east or west coasts, but it is a pretty one. There are various animals from land to sea, from tropical to cold regions. Also, here often has live shows, lots of friendly staff and food places. Thanks to all who work here with their utmost passion and love to make the zoo amazing. For Buckeyes, the discount tickets can be bought in Union for 10 bucks per person.

Columbus zoo is a beautiful zoo with large and spacious habitats for the animals there. All animals were very active. I was also impressed to learn that Columbus Zoo and Aquarium rehabilitates manatees and once they are large enough, releases them back into the wild. Love to see a Zoo making a real difference in saving species.

This zoo is MASSIVE. I mean, I usually only go to the Toledo zoo, and it doesn't take too long for me to get around and see all of the animals. This zoo took us 7 hrs to fully explore, and we really enjoyed it. The only thing I'd say was lacking is the aquarium. I do like Toledo zoos aquarium better. Other than that, this zoo earned its 5 stars.

We bought the Columbus city pass and the zoo was included! The 5 of us spend 7 hours here on a weekday (which was the best choice we could’ve done because there was no waits for anything and hardly anyone there). The zoo is massive with so many animals and experiences. We fed the giraffes and stingrays - so much fun!

One of my favorites ZOO's in all of the USA. The Wildlights display is awesome and so colorful and entertaining. Make sure to understand that if you visit after dark, many of the outdoor animal exhibits will be closed off or too dark to enjoy the creatures. Still a great time to visit the Columbus zoo.

Even if you come in the winter when lots of animals are in their shelters, you can still spend hours here. There’s a lot to see and they are expanding. They have volunteers here who are very informative and friendly. It’s not a world class zoo like San Diego, but it’s good.

👍👍 Fantastic place to visit! We went to the walk-through and drive-through of this location and bothwere great! The animals are well cared for and happy. 👍👍 Nature-filled walk that takes about 30ish minutes via trail. The crushed-gravel path is part wooded and part open. You can take your pet but must be on a leash.
