Very interesting museum, a lot of things to do and to see. Special place for kids. Many different exhibits from all over the world. And it’s very quite. Fewer people than other places or museums in Rotterdam.

Wonderful! As we were short on time, and have no children, I should have prepared to skip the first level. However, once we started into the upper levels all was amazing! It's an immersive cultural experience which has something for everyone. Highly recommended. If you're in the neighborhood, stop on through. Students also receive a discount on admission, so, be sure to carry your school ID.

Spasious 3 floors with a lift and 4th floor for kids (4-8 y.o.) workshops to follow during summer holiday. General exposition will be seen within 1 hour maximum, kids will need adult explanation. Sealing is high and some exponants can't cleary be seeing under the protection glass. Videos with short films will be an addition to the theme. Inside & outside brasserie with self-service, gifts shop pricey but worth to buy some hand made items as a special gift from Rotterdam/Nederland!

Waste of time, I have visited the museum several times in the past 5 years. The museum was contained antiques, historical relics and a truly artistic pieces. But now there is nothing worth paying attention right there. Just trifles and absurdities and pieces of rubbish. I think the idiot who was responsible for this nonsense and this museum trash, was high or drunk. Do you call that art!!! A plastic vegetables stand or photos has been edited by photoshop app for people in a photography studio. Anyone can make this trash and open a museum. Disappointing and disgusting

Lovely building with interesting exhibitions. Two tips: -Would be more inclusive if they provide the text in both Dutch and English. -Text would be better to read if the lights are positioned differently. Now my shadow was blocking the information.

I had wanted to visit this museum for quite some time and was a little afraid that an expectation might have built up that the museum might not be able to live up to. But quite the opposite. It was even much better than expected. The children's section alone is fantastic and a spectacle for adults as well. The temporary exhibitions were definitely among the best I have seen in recent years: The ideas and concepts, the choice of objects, the arrangement, the contextualisation.... and yet it was not cerebral, but appealing, low-threshold, sensual. I am really thrilled and deeply impressed.

I always like to visit this museum, which introduces visitors to many other cultural information, with description displayed in both Dutch and English. Staff is friendly. A very good place for children to learn about people from different cultures, who may also live next door or among the local dutch population. When we understand the difference of other cultures, we can learn to accept each others too.

All depends what you are looking for. It was very interesting before the renovation. It was stuffed with a lot of history. Now compared to then its almost empty and is its a "museum" for modern style "art". Won't need to go back here.

If a ritual mask is displayed from another culture, I'd like more information about the ritual. How is it used? What does it represent? Otherwise the exhibit is just aesthetic and not educational enough about other cultures.

(Translated by Google) A small museum. Has 2 small spaces with exhibitions. It is not interesting. Unfortunately, a separate reservation had to be made for the play street, so we were not allowed to go there and visit at the same time. Too bad I heard that it was done nicely. I am curious. Let's see when will come visit again next time. (Original) Een klein museum.

This place will be interesting for people of different ages. On the ground floor is a great space for children. They can cook, draw, dance, play Lego, play shop, and make music there. Now there is Hair Power collection on the second floor which can be interesting for adults, but children can find some interesting zones for themselves too. The cafe is also great and provides tasty cakes and delicious coffee. And I should notice the cleanliness. My respect for the staff.

Extremely pleasant and informative. We did get kicked out 10 minutes prior but that makes sense as we were on the third floor, and the whole exhibition was not overwhelming at all, 1 hr is solid.

Took our child there and had The best time at the Superstraat programme they've got going on currently. We made a dragon for Chinese New Year, designed our own carnival costumes and then saw them dance across the stage, went shopping, built Legos and listened to the many stories of the people being featured throughout the exhibit space. The storage area was immaculate (it also gave access to persons who needed to use the wheelchair ramp). We also found a lovely book highlighting the beauty and culture of Rotterdam in the gift shop!

Loved the guides. They did their part well and were very sincere. As for the tour itself there was nothing really to see. You watch a total of three movies which repeat what the guides already discussed with us at the beginning of the tour. Very disappointing. There is more history to see by taking the Dom Tower tour. Be prepared for all the steps.

If you are familiar with Dom Tower at all it will be boring. For €11 'tour' you get: - A xenophobic guide struggling to find words in English - 45 minutes of child-like question time. CaN YoU GuesS HoW maNy PeoPle LivEd HerE? Just tell me. Its not 'interactive fun' and I'm not 7. This could jave easily been a 5min read on the wall, instead we are forced to stand in a small room with nothing to look at, but an adult man showing a stone and a brick. - 3 short movies with same information. Those were pretty funny, because they tried to look as epic as possible with the lowest budget. 2/5 The phrase "There was a man with an unusual hobby of building churches" was my favorite - 30 minute of 'explore the cave with a flashlight'. This could have been the most interesting part. But in the middle of exploring they stop you from whatever you're doing just to put you in the small space and show another badly 3D rendered movie with the same information. - Once you're back to exploring an old man will constantly follow you saying "we're closing soon". So yeah. The most interesting part was ruined by weird movie that we had to watch in between. There was no time to explore at your own pace. Information is repeptitive, and honestly €11 is not worth it to look at the couple of stones. My dissapointment is immeasurable.

Beautiful museum, just reopened after renovating. Focus is now more on themes than on objects, with currently a large expo on the Dutch presence in Indonesia. Very friendly staff.

Definitely following the less is more philosophy this great museum has a very nice, well presented collection. Simply one of the best I have seen this year. Be careful with your visit times though as it can get crowded.

A great place for a visit along with Rotterdam's other attractions. 20€ per person is a bit steep, although you can spend ages looking at the enormous collection and special exhibitions. We very much enjoyed the Rubens preparatory sketches currently on display Sept 2018).

One of my favorite museums in Rotterdam. They always have very good, elaborate and insightful exhibitions on interesting and current issues. I can highly recommend it!

The Wereldmuseum is a museum about people and offers a mirror image of 130 years of collecting by Rotterdammers for Rotterdammers. The Wereldmuseum Rotterdam is an ethnographic museum, situated at Willemskade in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The museum was founded in 1883 and shows more than 1800 ethnographic objects from various cultures in Asia, Oceania, Africa, the Americas and the Islamic heritage. Wikipedia I attended a very nice gala dinner last night. The environment and service was extremely nice.

Very nice insight of their collection in the third floor. The Superstraat part for kids is absolutely lovely. A very kind lady from the staff took me there to discover it, as I was leaving the museum without seeing it.. this space is great to see it for an adult, very nice museum concept... And also the museum has an excellent coffee.

A very interesting museum for the young and old alike. There are interactive elements such as making your own batik design on screen (Indonesia section) and popping tapes into a player (hip hop section) which makes the experience interesting. For children, there is an entire mini town at the ground floor which even adults would have fun at too!

The reception didn’t check my ticket, either made sure that I had one! Anybody could just sneak into it without issues. No exposition was well explained, everything looked very random, definitely won’t visit it again.

A pretty good museum overall, on the aspect of exhibition- the permanent one was nice but the contemporary definitely blew it out of the water, it was just phenomenal. As a museum though, it does do an effort to rectify the colonial nature museums have had with artefacts but it still feels like more can be done, but nonetheless at least they are aware and trying to do something, more than other museums. (also is has light chairs you can bring around which is really neat)

I expected a little different from the museum, perhaps that's why the impressions turned out to be rather negative - I found quite a few interesting things for myself. Suitable for lovers of contemporary art (although I would say that there are not very many such exhibits), those who study fashion and clothes (including national ones) will definitely like it - the bottom floor is all dedicated to it. The top floor is dedicated to the history and colonies of the Netherlands, but everything is described rather sparingly, in my opinion, not very interesting. But the building itself is very majestic and beautiful - it was once a royal residence. The staff is very welcoming and friendly - even the security guard told us some interesting facts. Can be visited for free with a museum card. We were also advised to come here during the night of the museums - maybe we will follow this advice next year.

This is such a nice building! It is a nice museum to visit, you will for sure learn more about the history of The Netherlands and Rotterdam. There are also some cool workshops that you might want to check out in advance.
