> Kitchen opens only after 7 am : I woke up early the first day and went to restaurant for a cup of tea but it was closed and one of the guy who works there said restaurant opens only after 7. So, you have to wait for your tea/coffee in case you are early riser. Restaurant service is pretty slow. Its like you need to wait for entire 30 mins to taste all breakfast varieties. Idly was good the first day and by the third day it had become little sour and hard. BTW, I hear non-veg food is decent. Power outage : , It is not guaranteed that your room will have light during a power failure. We had 5 rooms and only 2 had lights during power failures. Let's not even get started on bugs and insects . > Water on Demand : Every evening we had to remind them that there is no water and wait till they switch on motor. > Personal Details : Owner of the place thought it is good idea to get details about families (like name, age, location , phone numbers) from children rather than from the adults sitting on the next table. (our table was 5 steps away from kids table). > Leaking Roof : Yes during rain the roof leaks and if you are lucky it don't leak on your bed but you can slip and fall anytime. Roof of our room leaked at 4 places and we had to keep towel to soak water. > Ambience could have been good if the property had been maintained properly. The pictures that you see currently are taken a decade back and trust me that current condition is not very good. > No every room was given enough bedsheets, towels, or toilet tissue. > We felt that cleaning room is on demand not a routine. > most of the room did not have locks . So you just need to leave your room as is in case you are traveling to visit some places. Only good thing there were few pets which kept the place lively .

It was a random booking for our two days Yercaud trip. Just by seeing the google reviews, I confirmed my stay. The place worth more than the reviews, 7 acre property with beautiful cottage and individual rooms. It’s a serene place to stay and visit. Especially the man behind the regent resort Mr. D. Visu kalliappa, one of the genuine and loveable Person I’ve ever met in my entire life. His way of handling people and providing hospitality is next level! Please do visit this place without any expectations. You will be blown away by their behaviours 😍 The people who work their are not staffs, they are family. One of the best place to stay and enjoy the vocation. - The staff people so friendly and we can feel like family members - They will always serve freshly cooked foods. - Usually we will not get sleep during hotel stay at least on first day due to new location/place. Here we can feel like our house and get good sleep. - Very safe place and do not worry about anything safety - We can enjoy with birds (talking parrot) - The resort owner Mr.Vishu Kaliappa is very friendly - Lot of trees, plants and nice environment

We were stayed a couple of days such a great ambience... enjoyed a lot .. food was so tasty especially batter crab 🦀.. & Salamon fish fry 🐠... Apart from all we met a nice human being that's DR.vishu..chairman of the property.the man of simplicity no words to explain about his hospitality to the hill he will serve the hospitality... Soon we will be back brother...

This place is so good!! The whole place was built by Britishers in 1879 which gives us this anitque look and feels, and I love such places hence I loved it!! Apart from that their food and their services were to the point!! Zero complaints with them!! And for those who love dog, birds or has a pet animal for you this place is gr at choice!! And it's better you come here with your loved one and only loved one!! But for family also this place is good

This is one of the best places I’ve stayed in all my years of traveling and exploring. The place is filled with exotic trees, bonsai’s, royalty breed dogs and birds. The rooms have been beautiful designed and painted to give you a great ambiance.

The meaning of Family holiday was redefined, thanks to the amazing accomodation and hospitality offered by Mr.Vishu. This is not your regular boxed hotel room kind of accomodation, so if you are a fan of such boxes, don't read any further. The rooms are beautifully designed and set amidst the most serene setup. They are spacious, yet elegantly designed. We stayed here for 3days, and never once felt like going out to tour the city, because the place in itself was all lush green with a lot of trees and plants and thanks to the August weather, was just amazing. All the while during our stay, we felt the presence of nature all around us. This i believe, is the only pet friendly resort and even if you don't have one, there is a lovely kennel built, housing different breeds of dogs. You would also find a lot of beautiful birds. Trust me, if you are planning to Visit Yercaud, this is where you should be.

The Regent Hillside Villa and Resort is such an amazing place to just relax and have a good time. The place is filled with plants, it's like walking inside a mini forest. The Host and staff are so welcoming and so kind. There are so many dogs you could go and visit, super friendly, such dolls they all are. This place is just like heaven on earth. Must visit.

This resort is my kind of place. Being a nature lover i thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent here. It's a no pressure all pleasure place. The ambience is awesome. All the staff are so caring and affectionate. I think the owners gentlemanly approach towards them and life is what makes the difference at this unique and magical place.

This is a small resort run by a gentleman with passion.He runs it with great care. No vegetarians are allowed inside and there's clearly a board at the entrance.There are a lot of lovely dogs. The resort is a heritage villa in a vast area of wilderness around. A very calm and serene place

We had a serene and tranquil stay at The Regent Hill Villa & Resort. It is located in a prime location, close to many attractions and restaurants . The detailed elements and elaborate design of the place is special. It stands out and holds its own unique energy. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean, bright , airy, artistic and laid back. The colonial style villa with it's intricate details, a walk through the greeny arenas kept us engaged and entertained from the start. The restaurant “Sweet Rascal” serves delicious food in a cozy environment. The Owner, Vishu, has a welcoming energy and a great sense of humor. He is helpful, generous, and an amiable host. I would definitely recommend The Regent Hill Side Villa and Resort.

Had a wonderful stay here. Our shih tzu coco enjoyed playing with the other dogs in the resort. It’s a huge colonial paradise building very well maintained and aesthetically appealing. Lots of lovely trees and beautiful gardens all around. Very rare birds also in this resort.

Wow place. The owner Dr vishoo is an amazing person. He spoke to us so well. He took personal care throughout our stay. The cleanliness of the rooms was very good. This is a truly different place that's unique in every aspect. The resort is filled with antiques and curios all collection of the owner. All meticulously restored and kept in mint condition. The collection of dogs and birds were also very surprising to all of us. The kennels are huge and plenty of room for the dogs to play. Cash and bubble played with us. It was a memorable experience.

This is not a regular kind of resort. It's a place filled with surprises. It's in the middle of a tropical garden. It's paradise! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the hospitality was exemplary. The villa is ann old heritage place restored painstaking ly and is very authentic. Their restaurant sweet rascal serves really nice food.

Our business trip turned as Heaven, First & Foremost our big Pranams to Dr Vishoo Kaliappa and his beloved Team, OMG we all today learned one more dimensions of Hospitality and Guest Services. one of the best stay in my 18+ years industry visits to all over India. Extraordinary Food / Stay / Hospitality its their Signature I believe, Luckily Ive happened to Dine with one Educationist who is very regular patron to Regent hill Side & his restaurant named Sweet rascal, They way he explained and given an intro of Property owner Dr Vishoo kaliappa Ive overwhelmed meeting such people. Being Property owner he attend his every guests at his restaurant take personalized orders and he goest kitchen for all the orders been taken he curate menu and deliver to the table no ego etc etc... he want addictive to serve and make them happy i believe. truly admire and respect such humble people. Sweet rascal Restaurant is an Outstanding food.... No msg no added flavors / colors etc etc, purely with all hygiene measures. His squid OMG.... Ive never been so dramatic but is indeed... I wish Dr Vishoo to reach his desired aim. love to visit again, and with due respect thanks to you for giving an intro of TN Top Educationist in without even thinking in sec and sharing few contact which helps to improve my businesses. We stayed in the Resort for 3 nights, the stay was very pleasant, rooms were of vintage type and we liked it a lot especially my childrens felt like home. The resort is in very prime location, but very quite and peaceful and very near to tourist attractions. The booking can be done only through phone, My special thanks to the Com Dr MR vishu kaliappa who was very friendly and helpful in booking the rooms and guided us a lot in visiting tourist spot near by. The staffs were very polite and really helpful, Hospitality was very very good. Sweet rascal restaurant: The Resort has its own restaurent sweet rascal where the breakfast is complimentary and was very good. The restaurant manager called us before check in for lunch on the check in date and preorder was done and the food was ready at the time of arrival which was really appreciated. We have to pre order food for lunch and dinner and it will be made ready in given time, the food was excellent and unique and it felt like home and we had two children's 1 year & 5 year old and they liked the food a lot and they have not felt uncomfortable after having it which was really amazing, which made our stay much more comfortable. The Resort has good private parking area and they have a unique taste of bird & dog breeds my childrens liked it a lot. Overall it's a very good stay and this place is very suitable for family stay especially with children's. Our special thanks to Com Dr Mr vishu kaliappa and staffs for this memorable experience.

A wonderful experience which made our vacation stay wonderful. Colonial type rooms with antique nature. Felt like staying in a neighbour's house. Surrounded by nature will definitely will be a treat to nature lovers. Everything is simple and basic which makes us comfortable. Don't keep your expectations much like that of any luxury hotel as this will be an entirely different experience. When you accept the theme with which it is designed & built and when you accept the conditions he has given during booking, you will simply pass by inconvenience if any you face. Got a wonderful room with open garden in the backyard. I believe only our room Belmont has that wonderful backyard to the forest behind. As a family spent our valuable time by having our own seating arrangement with a morning tea and snacks sometimes in that foggy weather. You will also have surprise visitors named maggi and Sophie- the very friendly puppies. You will have a wonderful complimentary veg breakfast in the morning at "Sweet Rascal". The entire property is built with a theme to encourage you to love nature and pets. This Hotel is pet friendly hotel and definitely you will get like minded people staying near you Thanks to Dr. Vishoo for his selection of guests. There is a kennel inside with variety of dogs and variety of birds. The boutique hotel also have a small boutique Library and dining showcase which will definitely make you spend more time. Though there is lot of scope for improvement , I believe it may be an expectation which comes out of the conflict between your "needs and wants " Overall a wonderful experience. Tips from my end: 1.For early morning tea or coffee either have a flask to buy tea near Lake or have a morning walk @6/7am and have tea with Vada near to the Lake. 2.Try to get extra blanket if you need 3. If you habit of watching TV , check it once while you check-in. Mostly you won't need 4. Don't hesitate to ask them if you need anything 5. Nearby we have SBI ATM & a supermarket 6. Place your lunch and dinner orders well in advance. 7.Last .. Always stick to the conditions Dr.Vishoo has told you in advance so that you will neither have complaints nor regrets. The Regent Hill is truly a remarkable place to stay at. I am ineffable at the moment as I am writing this review. The owner is a truly unique gentleman and I would proudly say he is honorificabilituditatibus in all aspects. His design was exotic and yet home spun. The cleanliness of the villa was impeccable. Dr. Vishoo was a gregarious person and we loved his wit and hospitality which was from the heart.

We absolutely had an amazing stay here at this place in yercaud. The ambience and the place was very naturistic with more than 28 dogs in the kennel. All of the dogs were incredibly friendly and playful despite its scary outlook. The staffs at this place were extremely courteous at serving our needs and we didnt even face any problem or issue during our stay. The tamed umbrella cockatoo that loves being scratched and the the other exotic birds are such a pleasent and beautiful scene to admire at and I totally enjoyed short holiday stay and it was more than what I had expected so I am incredibly statisfied.

Had wonderful stay and very good breakfast complementary. Thanks for vishu sir and everyone. Plastic chair and table could have better in the cottage room. Salmon fish was excellent. Soon we will come back with family.

We went to sweet rascal cafe at this place. It's kind of a pure non-veg place. Food was awesome. Their fried salmon was really delicious. One thing to note is that you need to set an appointment before actually going there to eat as they basically prepare everything fresh and take moslty advance booking.

This place is for an experience in time travel to the good old British days in the hill station. Perfectly maintained old English villa. Regent hill side reminds me of Taj Savoy hotel in Ooty. But Regent came with a better experience due to the hotel owners interaction and guidance to local attractions. The international exotic dogs kennel in the property was a treat for dog lovers. The restaurant has a very tropical ambiance and a cool vibe. The property looks best at night. Right next to the lake. (No Lake views though)

It was a great stay with my dog here.. Located in walkable distance to the Yercaud lake. Just 4 rooms and a cottage with enough parking space. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The host is just amazing. It's a huge property where you can let your dogs roam freely. For breakfast they served crispy dosas with a variety of chutney and Sambar which was complimentary. For lunch and dinner i tried mutton, fish and prawns. All were tasty and reasonably priced. There was just one issue with water which lasted for 3-4 hours which was disappointing. Regarding cleanliness it could be improved, there were many webs in my room. I felt the room rates were on higher side but it's worth for the experience.

We never knew about this place till we came to their restaurant sweet rascal. We walked inside the property and found out about the rooms and on request booked for the next day. The owner Dr Vishu sir is such a lovely person so caring and knowledgeable. You can sit and talk anything under the sun. The resort is an old English villa with amazing decor and a fantastic collection of antiques. We had a great time here and the food was delicious

Very spacious colonial type rooms and must mention spacious clean bathroom. Well preserved and we'll maintained property takes you to old golden days of Yercaud. The dishes we ordered were fresh prepared and served. Awesome retreat for your pet too and the owner is an example of hospitality. I have never seen a owner taking care of your stay personally. If you want to relax and soak in goodness then this place is a must to stay.Worth it.

Unique place to stay. Warm & Wonderful - This is the second visit to this place where we stayed this time. Earlier we had a food at this place. - The place is quite big and the resort is a building built during the British time and its being maintained still now. - The stay was really good, and rooms are different from how the traditional resorts rooms are. We will definitely notice the difference. - The food here is superb! I don't think we will get this kind of food in Yercaurd. - Dr Vishnu looked after and really took care of us. Much thanks for his flexibility. - Lot of dogs and birds. - People at the resort, they are friendly and we felt like they are family members.

This is a must visit place for everyone who comes to Yercaud. The very concept of this place is unique and quite refreshing. It's a refurbished British bungalow tastefully redecorated. The owner and staff are very warm and welcoming. The food is unlike any other hotel food, it is as good as having a meal at your friend's house. This is not a place to experience luxurious 5star stay, but where you will feel welcomed into a friend's house. Our stay and food here was excellent.

This place is truly unique and has a very different character. It reeks of class and fine taste.. When they call it a boutique resort,it truly is one. fantastic collection of artefacts and very well displayed and elegance par excellence. The hospitality is truly astounding. I've not been to this place yet. But wanted to mention here that owner was very helpful/friendly in understanding our emergency and helped us to change the booking dates to a future month.
