We ordered a takeaway - mild chicken madras for two with peshwari naan and raita. Like Jonathan Singh, we found the portions laughable for BBD75. Three small pieces of chicken each when we served it out. When we got it it looked very small so we asked if they were sure it was for two. “It is if you share it” was the sarcastic reply. So it clearly was meant to be that small or the staff were pulling a fast one. The peshwari naan was nothing like - no taste of coconut, almonds and sultanas in whatever was filling it while the raita was basically liquid yoghurt with nothing added. Very poor quality and quantities. I don’t know where all the high star reviews come from but they all mention ocean views and there aren’t any ocean views to be had in Coverley!!!

A great and unexpected find during an unforeseen one night stay in Barbados. After missing a connecting flight and a long day of scrambling to change flights, find accommodations this gem of a location with outstanding service and friendly staff graciously accommodated us. Went for the Indian fare and it did not disappoint! Wonderful!!!!

One of the most romantic dinner spots in Barbados. Service was great (thanks Diana!) and the menu has a lovely and wide variety of Indian and Thai dishes. Vegan and vegetarian options are available. Get there on time for sunset if you can.

I had dinner here with my family and I can confirm what some of the other reviewers complained about.Apsara Express Cafe’s portions are very small and pricing is high for what you get.When you order a dish which should be a main and instead is a small appetizer size portion then you know you are wasting your money.The butter chicken had 4-5 small pieces of chicken if that much.Even the chicken biryani was not worth the money they were charging.The prices are close to full service Indian restaurants and smaller portions so why would people dine at a cafe.I would recommend Tagore’s if you are looking for great Indian food with good portions and prices.

Beautiful setting, delicious food and great service. There is a wide variety of Indian and Thai dishes. The cocktails were fabulous and we had a great time watching the sunset. Definitely worth a visit.

Visited this restaurant two nights in a row. Had the shahi paneer both times along with various appetizers. Food was absolutely amazing. Great atmosphere and beautiful ocean views day or night. One note; the pricing is more like $$$ rather than $$ as rated on google, but it was worth it in my opinion. Will visit again.

Delicious Indian food with well food served on table as wound expect.

I used to be a regular at Apsara’s other location in St. Lawrence Gap which has recently closed down.Even though this new location is an express style restaurant which generally means it should be affordable,I find there to be no value for money at this restaurant.A few of us ordered the BYOB with chicken and after spending $32-$35, the portions we got were laughable.Maybe those bowls should be on the kids menu considering what they gave us.Other members of our large group had the same problem with the portion sizes for dishes they ordered and some even ended up having to buy food from elsewhere after finishing their meal.With this restaurant being situated in the same complex as Ross University’s housing you would think that their pricing would be competitive but that is not the case.Also the lack of seating capacity at this restaurant makes me wonder if they even want people to eat at the restaurant.The restaurant has seating capacity for maybe 3-4 tables so when our group went there it was so cramped.There are many other restaurants which offer way more value for money so I would avoid this one.

This place is amazing. You know it’s going to be good from the moment you walk in. And the greeting from who I can only describe as one very classy lady - who’s definitely well travelled - so helpful and knowledgeable and helped with our order. Very honest and gracious deterring us from dishes she didn’t feel represented value for money. The wonderful food came really quick and the packaging and presentation is superb. Got it home and just died and went to heaven. I’m amazed anybody can score them anything other than 5 star - but that’s brits abroad or uncouth fast food quaffing Americans for you. Give it a try you’ll love it

I have eaten here a number of times. The food is exquisite but is on the pricier side. You get what you pay for. In my humble opinion it is worth the price. Drinks are reasonably priced and the service is excellent. This is a special night out and the decor and surroundings make this place that bit more special. If you like hot food, ask for it hot, if not ask for it with a little less kick. The missus loves a madras and I have yet to find a hotness she is unable to endure, although the food here did make her sweat a little bit. Good portion sizes.

The restaurant moved. It is no longer at the beach, so those pictures are outdated. Food is delicious and really fast service. Naan is DELICIOUS!

While the food was okay, I felt quite disappointed with the portions. After spending $70 on what I thought I would be able to share (and was advertised as “large”), there was barely enough for a single individual to feel satisfied, particularly at that price. I would have been satisfied had the prices been 30% of what they were for how little food was provided. There are plenty of other affordable options in Coverley if you are in the area and need food.

My fiancé and I really enjoyed our Valentine’s Day dinner here. The food and atmosphere were excellent, but we never quite figured out who was our server and we felt a little abandoned at the end (thus the 4* rating). They had a price fixe menu, and we loved everything we tried (both Indian and Thai). Nice wine list with a range of prices.

It is one of my favorite place to go and satisfy my belly with some Authentic and Delicious food. And service is amazing. Specially the chef behind the scenes do their best to make the food delicious. Heads off to them and the Management of Apsara Express. 100 percent recommended Indian Restaurant in Barbados. Must visit if you are in Barbados. Cheers.

Gorgeous oceanfront view with good selection of authentic Indian dishes.

The decor of the restaurant gives you warm feeling as you enter, you then proceed to a cozy seating area which is full of Mahogany and traditional basket cane weaving furniture and, the walls are suitably lined with black and white photos of persons wearing what looks like traditional Indian garments . A few minutes passed and my party and I were seated on the outside of the building which was was an open aired terrace styled court yard which was illuminated by real candles giving the place a nice warm Ambiance, and while it was lovely, when it came time to view both menus (Either Thai or Indian style cuisine ) this lighting proved insufficient , making the the selection process a bit lengthy as the wording of the menu was obviously reflective of the chosen style, however our waitress came to our rescue answering what ever questions we had and made suggestions to assist us in ordering ... My party being a conservative one ordered exclusively off the Indian menu I followed suit and we were rewarded with quality Indian food which arrived in a impressively timley manner, the portions were also satisfactory in size and over all it was not a bad experience and I would attend this restaurant again to be a bit more adventurous in my selection of Dinner.

This is the most amazing Indian restaurant on the south coast . The atmosphere is awesome the food is scrumptious and the staff are friendly .

Been to st lawrence gap 3 times and only found this restaurant on this occasion, thanks to my hotel advertising it. And so glad I did! Looking from the outside i would have never have known how beautiful it was on the inside and out the back over looking the sea! The Interior is decorated beautifully and lights everywhere. The food was beautiful too!! If your not great with spicy food definately go mild! I will definately be returning! Also wanted to say a huge thank you! I left my handbag in the restaurant and one of the waiters ran down the street to find us and return it!! So honest thank you so much!

Beautiful restaurant overlooking St Lawrence bay with quality food and great service

The food, service and atmosphere are exceptional. We planned to have a celebration dinner in Barbados and when we asked, only an hour in advance, about serving a special liqueur that they didn't stock in the bar, Marie called around, found it and picked it up so that we would have after our dinner. Can't say enough good things about Apsara Samudra.

Great Indian food. Atmosphere is authentically Indian and by the sea. Service is great. Not much parking but it's in The Gap and in walking distance of all hotels.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time last night. your staff, especially our waitress Diana, made our time very special. Thanks for the candle and complimentary icecream for our birthday girl. We will definitely be back

5 stars for ambience, 5 stars for the drinks!! But 3 stars for the wait time on food, 3 stars for the flavor and portions of the food, 3 stars for the wait on the check. All averaging 4 stars. It was just ok in general. Oh 5 atars on service as well. The staff was friendly and chipper.

I'm going to have to give this restaurant a 2 and it pains me to but I have to. I loved their location in St. Lawrence Gap. The decor was beautiful and authentic and the food was delicious even if service was a bit slow. Because I loved this restaurant so much, I decided to give their little takeout shop a try. Now that they've downsized, they still expect to charge restaurant prices for takeout. The thing is, I enjoyed their food so much whenever I went to their restaurant, I would've paid the price but no one came out to even offer me a menu. It was sitting at the desk and I could see an employee just standing there and the cook in the back. The reception isn't inviting at all and neither are the prices. I'd look somewhere else for good Indian takeout. Tagores is worse though so beware.

I enjoyed my meal, but the time to serving was delayed almost twice as long as what I had been told.

Ordered take away from here. One of the best restaurants that I've been to in Barbados. All of the meat is halal and delicious. The staff was very friendly and very helpful with answering any questions we had. The portion size was more than enough for a dinner. I wish I went here at the beginning of my trip and not the end. Loved it!!

Ok, so I wasnt expecting much. An Indian in Barbados? I have been to so many great ones and often on holiday they are bad! However this was decent. Lovely setting, attentive and friendly staff and good food. Overpriced for an Indian but then again that's the same with every restaurant on the beach front. Would I go back. Yes.

The food and the ambiance were excellent. The waterfront view is amazing. But the prices are like Miami Beach. Expect to be gouged like a tourist. That’s what this place is all about - big prices.

Great atmosphere by the seaside, great food, great service, clean facilities

So far the best meal we have had in Barbados. We made reservations the night before. The decor was elegant. We were seated at a table directly overlooking the ocean. The food was good and the portions adequate. A great experience for our family.

I went here for my birthday and I loved it. I was a bit sceptical, as there are two menus - Thai and Indian, usually meaning one or both aren’t great, but we ordered from both and it was all delicious. The highlight was the thai Som Tam salad, which was the best salad I’ve ever tasted! Both menus have a vegetarian and vegan options, and understood what vegan was when we asked. The decor and setting is also lovely, overlooking the sea. It’s a bit pricey but a good place for a special occasion. The only improvement is the vegan desert - they said they’d get vegan ice cream in for my birthday bit didn’t, so they bought my candle out on some chopped pineapple.

Third visit here and fantastic food again. Consistently great food in amazing surroundings. Definitely worth a visit.

Food was good, service was terrible prices are insanely high. 2.5 hours for a couple regular dishes, Hello, Thank you for your reply, we were there last night and had a 8 30 reservations. Our service was just incredibly slow, I asked for a spicy dish got it mild, asked to get soemthing to make it hotter she never came back. After we were done eating she came back nearly 25 min after that still no spicy sauce. I asked to pack my meal with some sauce to go, she informed me that the fridges were now locked and couldn't get me any sauces. After that she worked on the bills and gone for another 20 min while the restaurant was empty. Only a few tables left at that point, we had to get up and leave thinking they forgot about us.

First time eating Thai food. Tasted wonderful. Excellent service and a beautiful atmosphere.
