We
travelled
Jan
24th-
Jan
31st,
2023
from
Toronto,
Canada
and
paid
$685
each.
The
check
in
was
smooth
as
it
was
only
ourselves
and
one
other
couple
checking
in.
The
desk
clerks
were
pleasant
and
efficient.
We
were
offered
a
nice
welcoming
drink.
We
stayed
in
room
8211.
We
booked
a
Garden-view
room
but
we
were
upgraded
for
FREE
into
a
Villa
with
an
Oceanview!!
The
room
had
2
beds,
desk,
luggage
rack,TV, 3
chairs,
small
table
and
2
end
tables.
The
bed
linen
was
clean
and
there
were
no
bed
bugs.
It
had
a
safe
but
it
was
broken.
It
also
had
a
fridge
but
it
was
never
stocked
with
anything
The
bathroom
always
had
hot
water.
There
was
complimentary
shampoo,
lotion
and
bar
soap.
The
bathroom
had
a
hair
blow
dryer
too.
The
door
lock
is
controlled
by
a
key
card
that
scans
over
the
door
light
but
ours
wasn’t
working
properly.
There
are
2
snack
bars,
1
bar,
1
buffet,
2
a
La
carte
restaurants
and
a
coffee
cafe
open
on
this
resort.
One
snack
bar is
open
24
hrs
and
the
other
is
only
open
until
1045.
The
snack
bars
have
NO
menu
and
there
is
minimal
choices
It’s
either
a
ham
and
cheese
sandwich,
pizza,
French
fries
&
banana
chips.
Much
of
the
staff
speak
very
limited
English,
they
speak
Spanish
so
basic
communication
is
very
challenging
on
this
resort.
There
was
one
restaurant
called
Benny
More
but
it
was
ONLY
for
the
Sunwing
elite
guests.
On
our
last
day
we
did
discover
that
a
BBQ
pig
roast
was
going
on.
The
buffet
has
90%
the
SAME
food
for
every
single
meal.
The
buffet
food
is
OK
and
you
won’t
go
hungry.
The
coffee
cafe
called
“Ashley
Coffee
Bar
Cafe”
has
awesome
coffee/espresso/ice
coffee.
The
one
and
only
bar
has
a
large
drink
list
but
they
have
barely
any
of
the
ingredients
so
when
you
ask
for
any
of
the
drinks
on
the
list,
they
look
around
the
bar
and
don’t
have
the
proper
ingredients
to
make
any
of
the
drinks
so
your
choice
is
only
beer,
rum
&
coke
or
lemonade/
juice.
That
was
really
disappointing.
There
was
an
entertainment
schedule
located
on
a
wall
near
the
front
desk.
The
entertainment
was
terrible.
It
ranged
from
a
Cuban
woman
singing
in
Spanish
to
a
“disco”which
was
guests
dancing
on
their
own.
It
was
the
worst
entertainment
I’ve
experienced
in
Cuba
0/5.
Others
things
to
do
was
darts,
a
ping
pong,
volleyball
and
Pool
billiards.
There
was
also
a
gym
(open:0700-1500).
The
tennis
court
and
mini
golf
areas
were
over
grown
with
weeds
and
I
never
saw
anyone
playing.
You
could
also
rent
a
bicycle
for
free.
Staff/clientele:
as
stated
above,
many
of
the
staff
only
spoke
Spanish.
Communication
was
difficult
as
we
only
speak
English.
Most
of
the
guests
appeared
to
not
speak
English
and
were
Spanish,
French
or
Polish
speaking.
The
guests
were
MANY
seniors.
The
beach
at
this
resort
is
apparently
public
so
there
were
locals
there.
Beach:
there
are
3
areas
of
beach
on
this
resort.
They
are
all
quite
small
beach
areas.
The
very
first
day
we
were
on
the
beach
in
a
beach
chair,
it
was
1630
and
we
were
unaware
that
the
guy
closes
the
beach
for
the
day.
Literally
at
1630,
the
worker
guy
walks
up
to
us
and
says
“TIME’S
UP,
TIME
TO
GO”
and
took
the
beach
chair
from
under
us?!
WE
LITERALLY
HAD
TO
STAND
UP
FROM
OUR
BEACH
CHAIR
AS
HE
DRAGGED
IT
AWAY
FROM
US”
?!
This
indeed
did
happen
again
the
next
day
with
a
different
worker,
we
were
told
the
chair
service
is
“over
at
4
pm”
and
the
guy
literally
had
us
stand
up
from
our
beach
chair
and
he
dragged
it
away
from
us!
Overall,
this
is
a
2.5
star
resort
and
it
feels
like
a
2.5
star.
There
were
some
good
things
about
it
but
many
negative
things.
Unless
you
have
very
low
standards
and
don’t
care
about
repetitive,
boring
food,
no
drink
list
to
choose
from
and
no
decent
entertainment-
then
this
is
a
place
for
you.
We
would
never
stay
here
again
and
DO
NOT
RECOMMEND.
