🍽 Food: 4/5 🤵🏽‍♂️Service: 4/5 🪑Ambiance: 4/5 📝 Villa Mama’s is a nice reminder of good home food. I love that there is a Bahraini restaurant at the heart of London 🩵 The new staff are really nice, I’m pleased with everything. The only thing that still bothers me after writing this review is that the prices for these dishes are REALLY EXPENSIVE. I understand that since they are the only place to serve dishes from Bahrain, but that doesn’t justify the fact that tikka should be over £20!!!!! Food is good, service is good, ambiance is good. Price is not good :/

Never been to a Bahraini Restaurant before, so it might be the best there is, however the food wasn't out of this world. My dish was the Tahcheen which was recommended by the waiter as the best dish on the menu. It wasn't anything like your traditional tagine. It was a rice cake with tasteless chicken flakes inside resembling something that came out of a tuna can! No large chicken pieces, just shredded, and was disappointingly bland. The menu does not describe the chicken as being shredded, half of the dish was left uneaten it was that bad. The lamb shank (Mozart laham) my friends ordered was quite good, although if you order with mashed in potato as one did you will get a better experience as their rice is very average. The Moussaka was the best dish by far. Quinoa Tabbouleh was a decent salad too. The apple mocktail I cannot recommend as it was awful, tasteless and overpriced apple juice with mint added for decoration, I added my friend's sprite to the drink just to add some flavour. The mango and passion fruit mocktail was excellent. I was bordering on 3/4 stars however the reason they got pushed down to 3 is due to them, on a Saturday night, serving the bills to all the tables without us asking for it, not asking if we wanted desserts before doing so, and at 11pm turning up all the lights to full blast in a not-so-polite gesture basically evicting all their customers! I have never been to a restaurant where I have been made to feel so unwanted at closing time. Most kitchens close at 11pm however it's very normal for your customers to stay on chatting for some time afterwards, as after all, they are there to have a good time, not just eat. The waiters were polite and nobody asked us to leave, however we felt so uncomfortable and subsequently left at 11.15pm, we were the last to leave as all others left immediately after the lights were turned up. Quite an unusual experience and left quite a bad impression. As mentioned service on the whole was good, just this last part of the day could be managed in a better way. Perhaps letting table know that you will close soon and if the customer wants to order a dessert to do so, giving a heads-up so that you are prepared so you can wrap up your conversation or go elsewhere to spend the rest of your Saturday night. Room for improvement here. I felt the menu was overpriced for what it was, add the 20% service charge, and the lack of etiquette when exiting your customers, 3 stars is generous.

The only Bahranian restaurant in the UK is definitely worth a visit. We met the team at The F1 as they were promoting the Bahranian Grand Prix - the awesome food at Silverstone was matched by their exquisite food in Chelsea. The lamb was divine and all the sides and starters were so tasty. Really nice team and a great setting for a lovely dinner.

Amazing food and service. Delicious dishes, I tried their branch in AbuDhabi, UAE but London’s branch is the best. Make sure you reserve online. Thank you Adam for the great service.

Delicious food, big portions and some unique kind of plates in here although it’s might sound like the typical Arabic kind of dishes but the flavors are well well executed in a unique way only Villa Mamas can provide you with. Loved the outdoor seating in here as inside it felt quite hot, staff were helpful yet can do slightly more smiling :) prices were above average but I found it reasonable for the above average portion size too

We loved our meal here. Every dish was seasoned to perfection. Our service was incredible thanks to the manager! But a personal favourite was the cocktails, would recommend the Hibiscus Lovers.

Food is nice at this place , no soup options in the starter’s, some on the menu items were not available , the rest of the selection is okay , staff are average, not too polite with customers, they don’t smile nor cheer visitors , grumpy looking faces , We used this place previously several times , it was better in our early visits . I think staff require more training .

Chargrilled tikka and machboos were dishes of the day. Must try um Ali dessert. Accommodated for gluten free where possible!

Came for early dinner... We knew it was a Bahraini restaurant but the menu was unexpectedly different from what expected... First thing hit me was the prices relative to its type and level.. they were expensive.. I have been to Michelin star restaurants and prices are at par with that.. Ambiance was good so we ordered mocktails and a couple of main courses and side dishes.. What a taste!!, all was forgiven.. loved the portions and the great taste... Although I think it is still expensive (hence lost one star) but I thoroughly recommend a visit at least once ..

If you're craving arabic/Bahraini food, this is the best place to go to. The atmosphere is so cozy and quiet, the food is beyond superb, everything was absolutely delicious, the dessert Um Ali is absolutely worth going for, and the saffron ice cream was so good. The customer service is amazing, they were smiling and very friendly. Thank you for the beautiful service.

One thing the manager didn’t understand about Gulf food is that the most important component of it is hospitality. Very rude manager, talks down to costumers with attitude that makes me swear never to visit again, al though food was amazing and the chef is doing a great job, but I’ll never go to a place to eat good food with terrible attitude. I can’t stomach it.

Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The atmosphere and decor is cozy, simple but elegant. Amazing service and super delicious, authentic dishes. We enjoyed everything we ordered and couldn’t have been happier with the whole experience. Some of our favorites: Eggplant explosion (starter), Moussaka (main), Um Ali (dessert). We will definitely come again :).

Best dolma i had so far , lamb shank was nice too , desserts were nice just the hummus kebab would have been nicer if the kebab was warm , kofta was tasty too . I will definitely be back !

Villa mama restaurant is very well known in London and Bahrain. I visited Bahrain branch and really enjoyed the food there. That was the reason for me to try Abu Dhabi Branch. I met with the owner and the chef. Havn't really tried London branch but it seems to be the best as I can tell from the pictures Food is really tasty, atmosphere and entertainment in general is good and the staff are friendly and kind.. Arabic treat from dates and arabic coffee once you set to the table.. Variety of food is acceptable especially when food tast good but some of the menu options are a bit over priced... You need to avoid ordering soft drinks...way more expensive that a hotel even..if I recall, one can price goes around 22 aed..

The name reflects in the food. Honestly this little restaurant reminds me of my grandma. From the decor to the cooking. Very authentic, the vibe is great, the people working there are sincerely really amazing and make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. The food quite different from other Middle Eastern restaurants. Its all about quality, the presentation and the taste. Thank you Villa Mamas team. Sooo good. I would highly recommend.

Thanks a lot for the amazing experience and excellent service. The menu is quite diverse with Middle Eastern and Indian dishes and each one looked better than the other. I went to the chicken biryani and was brilliant. Congrats to the staff to the attention to detail.

Lovely Middle Eastern restaurant very close to the King's Road and Sloane Square. Food was delicious and of high quality and the waiters/waitresses very attentive. We had the hummus with meat and pine nuts, quinoa tabbouleh, babaghanouj, lamb shank with rice and ghormeh sabzi with saffron rice on the side. Highly recommend it!

Such a great place to be with family/friends. Staff are so incredibly kind and also attentive. What makes it better is that food is great too! We ordered the Moussaka and Qurma Sabzi for mains and dessert was: mint tea, cake of the day, Muhallabia and Mama's Elba (crème caramel).

Great food! I was surprised of the extremely tasty food. I'm doing dry January and I enjoy very much the mocktails. I would say that it has become one of my favourite restaurants in London!
