The security guard seemed to exhibit severe racial bias and a tendency towards violence. I am sad that my favourite place is rude by this security. I will never come back again or recommend this place to any non-white people My friend and I, both Asians, joined a queue to enter a dance floor, observing everyone else doing the same. A blonde security guard approached from the bottom of the stairs, bypassing all the white people in line ahead of us, and singled us out, instructing us to leave. When I questioned why she didn't speak to the white people, she reluctantly told them to leave, but upon their loud refusal, she turned and forcefully pushed us away. My friend, caught off guard, fell to the ground. Safety Concern: The security guard's action of pushing people on the stairs to the floor is extremely dangerous. A fall in such a place could lead to serious injury. Racial Discrimination: The fact that the guard only used force against Asian women, ignoring the white women in a predominantly white queue, is a clear instance of racial discrimination.

I was assaulted at this bar by the pathetic RACIST ginger female security. I encourage anyone who had similar experiences with this bar or this person to contact me, and I will jointly report to the police (can already see similar reviews). My friend suggested going to the basement for dancing, so four of us joined the queue on the stairs, but a very overweight white female security guard arrived, asking everyone to leave as the basement was full. Some white girls provocatively challenged her, rolling their eyes, saying they were not leaving. Instead of addressing them, she turned to us 4 Chinese girls, asking us to leave. Before we could even respond, she immediately grabbed me, pushing me onto the steps. I said don't touch me, but she continued pushing and pulling me intentionally. I called the police, and even during the call, she persisted in her absolutely unnecessary violence. I stood up and said I could walk by myself, but she pushed me down the stairs again purposely so she could drag me up. Two white girls witnessed everything and stood up for me and had an argument with her. But they were too scared to wait for the police to come and said they didn't want trouble and left, which is understandable, especially when I see how the police reacted. When the police (all white) arrived, this female security guard quickly went with them to review the CCTV, likely embellishing the situation. She seems very experienced with how to get away with this sort of situation. We explained the incident to the rest of the police officers, but they liked to believe the security guard over us and the surveillance lacked audio to prove our side of the story. The police said that private property allows the use of reasonable force if someone refuses to leave (which is a total lie because we didn't even say no or have the time to say no), and they said bars like this tend to do it. Even though it is very clear that the pathetic ginger security took it out on us 4 Chinese girls who said nothing, while not even daring to respond to the white girls challenging her, they said because she didn't say anything racist, there's a lack of evidence that this is racism. I have consulted a friend who's a lawyer, and they said what the police said was ridiculous. We are 4 girls working in universities, investment banking and big fours, and we never treat anyone in the workplace like that. It's shocking to see people so unprofessional, rude, aggressive and racist can still be employed by this place. It's probably because I wasn't injured thanks to my thick down jacket, so the police couldn't be bothered to do anything. If a smaller person has been attacked by her, they could be hurt because she is very violent. The police said they would recheck the footage, but they were busy with fights and couldn't immediately prioritize our case. They also stated that they wouldn't arrest the security guard due to lack of evidence, and while they would file a report, the outcome was uncertain. They said maybe record videos next time because the CCTV wasn't very clear, but then they said maybe not because it's private property. This blatant bias towards racism and the security guard's exploitation of legal loopholes left me speechless. I have had random teenagers saying racist stuff at me in the past but this time physical assualt happened. I am still shaking from this public violence and insult, and it's been one day already. Do not go to this bar. They are doing this because they know they are the only lesbian bar in London, and they can get away with it. New edits: I have spoken to many people, and actually, a few other Chinese girls experienced very similar things from this same uncivilised overweight ginger female security. She is famous for violently targeting Asian women and getting away with the "they refuse to leave" line. I can't believe She Bar supports this racism and violence. Anyone with an ounce of self-respect should avoid this place.

This place is full of lies, violence and discrimination as I witnessed the whole incident on Saturday night. They’re still lying at this point because from what I can recall the security did not ask people to leave “multiple times”. She only said it once to the people in the queue (including myself) and we did not even have any time to react. Then suddenly the violence happened and I was too scared so I ran out immediately. I did not feel safe during my stay at this bar and will never recommend it to any of my lesbian friends. Such a shame to the lgbt+ community 👎

My very first bar I HAD to stop at when I was in London. So damn cute. I wish I could have stayed longer or returned during my trip. Maybe next time. Thanks for having NA beer options!

This is the best lesbian bar I’ve ever been. Even though the place is not spacious, it gives you a sense of warmth and comfort. On Wednesday, they have a karaoke night, and you can order whatever songs you want to sing. The staff here are friendly and welcoming. It’s definitely a place I will visit again and again every time I return to the city.

Lovely staff and welcoming atmosphere. We really enjoyed our visit (maybe a little bit too much). Drinks have the usual london prices but are delicious. The venue is well maintained. We can’t wait to come back soon. There should be more places like this around.

Cool staff, good drinks, cute vibes. We went early in the night on a Thursday so there was not many people but it’s always nice to be in a lesbian setting. The staff was super chill to talk to. Would definitely like to visit for a full night out. Drinks were decently priced, not too high.

Great experience! I liked the vibe and the fact that it’s only people who identify as female or non binary inside (men are allowed when they come with women apparently and I saw few of them) The dj (who is very pretty) plays very good music! Too bad the place is like sooo small :( No menu for drinks… I don’t really like that because you don’t have prices nor choice, you have to know what you want to drink and trust them for the price. I payed 7,5£ a gin tonic which I think is alright, I would pay a bit more in Paris so no surprise for me. Also entrance is 10£! And there is a cloakroom for 2£ per item I think Otherwise the atmosphere is cool and even when you come by yourself you’ll not stay alone for long

Great place and alright music the vibe is great. Recommend making the most of the cloakroom because it gets STEAMY! Not in the way you’d like 😂. Music is okay drinks are London priced and the queue was around a hour at 11 we came from Manchester so not used to the long queues but worth a visit. Love that the staff on the door were active on protecting this queer space! Made for a great vibe once inside!

We went to SHE early this evening. At the door we were looked up and down and the security rudely asked my girlfriend, my friend and I, how many of us identified as male, when I said only one, she continued to look at my girlfriends and friends cross area, which is insanely disrespectful. While very intimidated by this unprofessional security guard, we went in feeling uncomfortable. It’s not okay to get wrongly gendered for looking androgynous, in a bar made for queer women and non binary folks. After not even 2 minutes inside, we left, because of the rude security. You can not call yourself a bar for queer women and non binary folks if you’re looking at appearance to assume someones gender.

Extremely over priced drinks.£10 entry for a tiny room and overpriced drinks. Rude male bouncer went into the toilets to get my friend of the toilet and was banging on the door as she was “taking too long”. He was incredibly aggressive and shouting making us leave. Another bouncer was very nice and handled the situation professionally talking to me and asking me what had happened. Him and another woman gave us a full refund and we left. We will never be back.

We got to the door of SHE, the bouncer saw what she assumed was a female and a male, and refused entry. Absolutely shocking behaviour, in all places where one should feel safe and accepted, the bouncer was not accepting of us. We were two white people, who knows if it were different if we were not. Shocking, humiliating, and actually rather disgusting. I only hope this bar hires more accepting people without stigma’s, it completely ruined the experience of Soho, and an iconic bar like that should know better. Not fair, not right, absolute prejudice. The surrounding bars were far more accepting, and that pains me writing that, as I had high hopes. I’ve seen men inside SHE before, having a great time, but this was an absolute abuse of power from a unjust door person.

Great place for girly gatherings. You are surrounded with beautiful ladies 😁The drinks are priced reasonable but not cheap. In Soho. Boys are not allowed unless they company girls. Formerly known as a lesbian bar. 🥳🥳🥳Their music could have been improved😅😅😅

I loved She Soho! This is a bar specifically for LGBTQ women and the people they bring with them. I felt very safe in this bar, and the music in the dancing area was amazing! Although the space is pretty small, there is a great community here and I would love to see this business grow.

I’m a 20 year old girl and I absolutely adore it here. I feel safe and love the vibes and it’s a great place to meet other LGBTQ+ individuals! There are certain nights where it is just girls (anyone who identifies as a female and non binary individuals welcomed). The drinks prices are high , that’s expected. The music is great and it’s probably my favourite club. The Cons are that it is small so not a lot of people can enter I recommend getting there around 10pm to enter on weekends. The toilets are also very small which can be an issue too, as Queues are long. But I definitely still recommend going here!

The vibes? Impeccable. The drinks? Very nice. From someone who was pretty nervous going in woth no expectations having never been to a place like his before, I was absolutely surprised (for the better) with how great of a time I had there. I'm just visiting the UK but I will absolutely be sure to be back next time I come! Very kind staff, lovely decorations, and popping in on karaoke nigt was a sweet bonus! Everybody was friendly and down to earth and it was so nice to have such a welcoming experience. To anyone worried about going in like I was, dont sweat it. Go in, have a drink, and start a conversation. And then dance til your legs give out! Thank you to everyone involved in keeping this place the miracle that it is.

If I could leave 0 I would. I was at the bar for two hours with friends. I went outside to meet my girlfriend and waited 45 mins in the line and was rudely spoken to by the security who made us pay again and then got kicked out for going to the bathroom and asking for help from my girlfriend with a sanitary issue. Like, come on! It’s a girl issue! Surely you can understand. Huge digression from creating nice spaces for women to come out and party. Why would we cause issues in the toilet for nothing. HORRIBLE NEVER GOING BACK. BE WARE!!!!! SECURITY NEEDS TO BE FIRED!!!!

I find She to be a bit hit or miss depending on the DJ - it’s quite expensive, small and I didn’t realise it shut at 1 which feels quite early. The problem is that its clearly so expensive and crowded because they are the only exclusively lesbian venue so you can’t really fault them for that, but it does impact the experience a little bit imo. Great staff and usually a good night out! Once had a man be very homophobic whilst we were in the smoking area which upset my group, but staff were pretty on it and comforting. I’d love to come during the week for one of their events :)

I was at She Soho with some of my girls last Saturday night. Honestly every single song was amazing - the dj, Izzy, honestly made our night spectacular!!(Also the guy greeting us at the door was super nice too- all the staff was really) It was the best music back to back that I’ve ever experienced in a club. It made dancing all night so much fun and the atmosphere was great. It would be a hard night to beat.

I have been to this place several times and I have had some memorable times but the entry fee went up from £3 to £5 and now £10 for such a cramped up tiny place. Nothing has improved, the music could be better and toilets are so filthy. The door staff are sometimes so rude to customers queueing up!!!

She Bar is in the heart of Soho. Nice and friendly place, but in my personal opinion the drinks are too pricey and not the bedt quality. The place is too small for dance, but if the DJ is good you csn have an Incredibly good night!

Came to She two nights running during our stay in Soho. Door staff - especially Rafael were lovely. Drinks are on the expensive side but the amazing bar staff made up for that ☺️ DJ on Saturday night was 10/10. Great service from Liv with the curly hair on Sunday night too! We will be back to Shebar whenever in London! 👍🏻

It was one of my best experience with a bar. There’s a security guard at all time, the whole space is really safe and comfortable. The drinks were amazing, and the staff and the other guests were so kind too! Recommending it very much, really really safe space, thank you!!! ❤️

Had only one night in London while on holiday and happened upon this cute "underground" hole in the wall bar/club. The bartender recommended me a lovely drink that was low carb (I'm diabetic and don't drink much), much appreciated. Met some lovely people. The music was good and not played so loud that people had to yell at one another to have a decent convo, which was great. Good mix of young and old crowd, and the staff was friendly and non-pretentious, very "down to earth." Clean place. I had dinner plans elsewhere so I had to bolt just as things were perking up. Should I ever be so blessed to visit UK again I'm def stopping by again! Cheers from the States!

My first ever Lesbian bar as a Transfemme. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Beth on the door was fantastic and gets five stars just for her. She made me and my friends feel very welcome. Will be returning. XHertfordshireCrewx

The bouncer ladies were pretty rude and full of themselves. It felt like they were on a power trip, telling us to walk around the queue line even we were the only people there, no other people waiting or approaching the venue. Pretty hefty prices. Tip: just walk up the stairs and pay less for your drinks

The security was really rude with us didn’t explain very well why she did not want us come in, and also push me out because I had a bottle of coke inside of a bag, if she tells me in a nice way that I couldn’t come inside with that I would understand, never coming back.. if she was that rude I can’t imagine how the staff would be.

I’m always greeted by the lovely ginger security guard who never fails to give me a warm welcoming smile upon entering , when you get down stairs there is such a warm and welcomed atmosphere , the music is always a 10 and I would definitely recommend this place to every lesbian I know ! Echoing another review, the experience can be quite hit-or-miss depending on the dj :). Off-pace music most weekends with unrecognizable songs..last friday was a definite blast with dj varja however and everyone was having the best time, will be keeping an eye out until they come back! Staff are always very welcoming and helpful and the venue is nice and cozy xx
