La Taberna is an Italian restaurant in North London that specialises in Sicilian cuisine. I found the service offered by Mr Nino and his team amazing! They were friendly, welcoming, and knew their menu really well! I had the weekly special: Italian gnocchi in a spicy tomato sauce with mushrooms and Sicilian sausage. For someone who has been in lockdown since 2020, the pasta was a godsend for long neglected taste buds! Tasty, spicy, complex and wonderful sophisticated and evocative flavours! I can't wait to go back soon to La Taberna with my wife. In short, La Taberna is a fantastic Italian restaurant, run by Italians, serving great Italian food! I highly recommend it! You won't be disappointed! πŸ™‚

This is the best restaurant in Islington and the best Italian food we've had in the UK. It's run by a lovely, welcoming family. The place has a cosy atmosphere and is totally unpretentious. A hidden gem!

This is the first Italian restaurant in London where I felt at home. It’s not like the other pretentious Italian overpriced pasta places. It’s cosy, genuine, welcoming and the food is delicious! Super happy I found it, and will definitely come back. I had tortelloni with porcini mushrooms and a cream sauce to die for. But whatever your preference, make sure to try gnocchi al pistacchio as a dessert.

Absolutely amazing! My favorite Italian restaurant to date! Family owned, traditional, cosy and delicious. Me and my friend had to come back to London just to eat here again! 10/10 food (also the waiter/owner is the g.o.a.t)

Wow, what an incredible experience. It feels fee and far between to find a truly family run, authentic Italian place in London. This is the definition of a neighbor gem- I had the homemade gnocchi with spicy fennel sausage. The spice was really used as a seasoning that built really well throughout the dish, instead of some sort of punishment. My partner had the veal Milanese, perfectly done. Would highly recommend!

This is the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. Fantastic menu. I am not easy to please, however, every penny spent in this restaurant Is worth it. I have eaten here on two different occasions and the food is outstanding! It is family run, beautiful atmosphere and the service is attentive. If you haven't been here yet, go and support this local business, you won't be disappointed. P:S The pistachio gnocchi for desert is simply delicious.

Amazing. Truly authentic, the owner served us all night, true Italian don. Food was great, starts, mains and dessert. We had a few starters, and the lobster tortelloni, the pistachio gnocchi at the end is a MUST HAVE. LEGIT!

Passed by and decided to have a quick lunch. We were hosted by the owner who was very kind and also made the delicious food. We had a warm caponata and the cotoletta alla milanese which I strongly recommend. There were no other people in the restaurant at the time which really surprised us given the quality of the food. Definitely give it a chance. We will come back soon.

This place is a hidden gem and the best Italian restaurant that I have come across in London. Situated in a nice little corner of a residential area with not much noise around, everything from food to service is impeccable. You might have had bruschetta before but never with such freshness of tomatoes oozing out. So is the pasta and all other things that we have tried. Cherry on the cake is the very friendly Italian gentleman who greets you with utmost love and smile. This is our go to place every time we want a nice Italian meal in a nice little setting far from the bustle.

Discovered this place one week day when we wanted a quick lunch. One man inside- I think the owner, was italian, super helpful, friendly and served us, worked in the kitchen and sorted the bill and made it a great experience. What a fantastic little place, we will definitely go back. Also very impressed he also has lots of gluten free pasta too!

Had the most amazing meal here with the wife, bruschetta to start then the pasta, spicy tomato sauce and sicillian sausage, wife had the courgette and pasta. Food was unbelievably good, plentiful and very reasonable. Had the coffee and ice cream for dessert and again, beautiful. This was our first time here but won't be our last. It was like you was sitting down in someones house and being served the best homemade meal.

This used to be our local Italian restaurant. Delicious food prepared and served by a lovely Italian family. I especially recommend the wild boar ragu as the main and tiramisu for dessert, and the generously poured Aperol spritzs before the meal on warm sunny days.

I take my family to this lovely place a lot! This is the best place to eat. I go to this spot at least once a month. The food is of high quality, the workers are professional and the price is reasonable. I enjoy eating in this place for a rich meal.

Absolutely amazing, wonderful restaurant. Out of my 24 years living in London, I can honestly say this has hands down been the most delicious, authentic Italian restaurant I have ever visited. The staff are extraordinarily charming and make sure you feel absolutely comfortable and happy. Especially the young girl who makes an extra effort to put a smile on your face. My only regret is not discovering this place sooner! I will continue visiting this gem forever and ever!

The owner/manager (not sure which) is so friendly and welcoming, and to top it off, the food is beyond exquisite! I would highly recommend.

We dined here when our original choice proved unsuitable. The food was good, the service attentive. However, we were alone in the restaurant and that was possibly because it was fairly dear, for a simple eatery.
