OMGosh! I am so happy we found this place in Canton!!! The chef is SUPER friendly with an awesome, positive attitude! He took great care in packing the food, separating our friends who has a food allergy. You can taste the love and care he puts into the food. The flavors were hitting on every level! My friend said the burger was juicy and delicious. The burrito was so satisfying and had all the perfect ratios of rice, beans, impossible meat, cheese, and veggies. It was seriously amazing! Since my husband became vegan a few years ago, he has been missing wings. They were one of his favorite meals and I have been trying and failing to find/make him some wings that satisfied his craving, but I kept falling short. Well, Atypical Vegan figured it out! Finally I know where I can get my husband some awesome wings!!! Now he wants to try all of the flavors, and I am not going to stop him! Definitely give Atypical Vegan a try!

Fantastic selection, hearty portions, and robust flavors! Not to mention, service with a smile! We absolutely love Atypical Vegan! And we're absolutely thrilled that the restaurant is so close to where we live. My favorite was the burrito, my husband loved the wings, and my daughter thought the fries were the yummiest. I can't wait to try breakfast. Oh! He should feature a bakery section because his cupcakes are THE BEST cupcakes hands down!! Thank you for bringing all of this vegan goodness to us! CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN.

Passing through Canton and was surprised to finally find a vegan restaurant! The owner was so friendly and the food was amazing! We ordered a variety of items for our group, the yardies, tacos, a burrito, some sides. And don’t sleep on the breakfast sandwiches or fried okra. So amazing! Everything is delicious and tastes homemade!! Get out and support this restaurant, we need more wonderful places like this in area! Can’t wait to come back!

YES YES YES! It’s hard to contain my excitement, happiness and gratitude that this place exists; as a vegan in Cherokee County, I don’t have many options for eating out, so I know I will be coming back here all the time! The food and service was great. Richard was so kind and welcoming. We tried the breakfast biscuit, potatoes and Rosarito burrito and everything was excellent. My husband and sister-in-law are meat-eaters and even they LOVED the food. Thank you so much, Richard! Can’t wait to keep coming back to try everything on the menu!

I’m a Cherokee county resident and never knew this place existed until my husband suggested if I was interested in eating vegan food. We enjoyed every single bite! I’m so happy that this place is in my area, and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much !!

Tried this vegan joint for the first time. The owner is very friendly and eager to make customers comfortable and happy. We tried the burrito, savage burger and papas fries. He threw in some deserts for free for us to try! The packaging was all.made from environmentally friendly materials. The flavors definitely had that home cooked touch and were filling- with healthy ingredients. We also support his mission of saving the environment and farm animals by helping folks to try vegan food and hopefully make the switch eventually. Will recommend to our friends!

😍😍😍 Glad you're so close to my new school Richard! I'm a Canton newbie, but a foodie. Not vegan, my sis is. Normally I just like trying out places / new dishes. I came in expecting veggies, but got a heck of a lot of flavor instead. I'm not sorry!! Even if you're a not a vegan- Come here. It's the best food I've had since moving to Canton. Keep rockin it!

The food is incredible! The owner is so kind and genuine. Hope everyone tries his delicious food and shows support. We need more people like him.

The last time I ate at a gas station the meal consisted of a frozen burrito and an oversized refill of soda- so my expectations were low when my wife showed me where we were having lunch. However, unlike before, the food I had this time equaled and even surpassed every vegan restaurant I've been to. For that matter, the food equaled and surpassed ANY restaurant I've been to, vegan or otherwise. Regarding the food, I had the shrimp and grits, one of my favorite pre-vegan meals that I thought I would never see again. But the shrimp and grits I had here was nothing short of heavenly. Everything from the 'fried egg' to the 'bacon pieces' were full of flavor, brilliantly textured, and cooked to perfection. And the touch of Caribbean cuisine made the meal something very special indeed. This was a meal deserving of cloth napkins, tablecloths, and an ocean breeze. Perhaps one day... Regarding the service, well, if there could be anything better than the food it was Richard, the owner and artist who created a masterpiece of a lunch. His laughter and friendliness is infectious, transforming the modest environment into an oasis of happiness and warmth. I went in with an appetite, and left with a friend. It simply doesn't get better than that. Although this vegan oasis is a formidable distance from home, we will be returning here again, and very soon. The only thing better than supporting an independent vegan restaurant is supporting one that you know will rise to great heights one day. And Atypical Vegan is just such a place.

From the customer service to the presentation of the food was A1 by far my best experience. The owner is a vibe he knows what he is doing! 5 star hidden gem!

Our food truck, Big Juice, had issues, AGAIN… and we ended up at a Chevron gas station that included Atypical Vegan Restaurant. Chatted with Chef Richard for a bit and decided to go with the Baja Buster Burrito with a side of chips and salsa. Absolutely beautiful food presentation, upon opening the box, but the food, WOW, so delicious! I have never had a better burrito in my life. This chef is obviously putting his heart into his food. My mother-in-law is a longtime vegan, and we can’t wait to bring her here. We are planning a trip back for dinner very soon!

I want to share my amazing experience at this restaurant. I walked in and was greeting by the friendliest owner/chef I’ve ever met. Passion was flowing out of this man and I knew right then and there that I was going to have a positive experience. Nothing prepared me for the incredibly delicious food I was about to eat. Seriously, from the first bite Richard takes you on a ride full of complex flavors and textures that leave you planning your next visit. I can’t recommend this place enough (even though it’s all I’m going to be talking about at the barbershop) 11/10 incredible experience. Can’t wait to go back.

Best hole in the wall vegan spot! Hidden gem inside a gas station where you’ll meet the incredible father daughter duo behind the delicious food! There are tables and a chess board if you’re not in a rush (I recommend dining in as everyone there is really friendly & kind). Can’t wait to be back and to try everything on the menu! Umai! Food was amazing, we got the Yardies ( Vegan Patties ) Veggie and Spicy Jerk ( heat level is there so good though ) and the Papas fries were outstanding! I honestly was gonna drive back to get more 😭. We got the salt, garlic, onion, + seasoning. They also had cajun seasoning. The owner had a great attitude, very nice! We got a $1 scratch off for spending over $20. We will definitely be back to share the wealth once we hit ✨🙌🏽

This little gem has out of this world flavor!! My partner and I stopped here just to park and stretch our legs on our journey, and we were lucky enough to find this amazing eatery experience! The owner is absolutely wonderful! They are extremely friendly, informative, and they were the coolest glasses! The flavor of the food was stunning! Every bite was flavor explosion in my mouth! I am certain that our travels will bring us back by this little gem!

Nice hidden gem in Canton. Been here several times, and everything I've had was really good and plated very well. Always my go to spot when I'm in the area! The chef is a motivated and upbeat guy that really puts his heart into his food & service.

Just tried this place. All I can say is WOW! I am not vegan, but I will absolutely order their food again. So flavorful, so delicious. And portions are pretty generous too. Quesadilla has just the right amount of spices. Yardie with jerk seasoning is an absolute FIRE (quite literally, because jerk season will turn anyone into a fire breathing dragons). Cajun tarot tots - YES PLEASE! Burger is big enough for two meals. And we haven’t even gotten to the cupcakes yet. They’ll have to wait because we are too full to eat another bite and we still have food leftover. So glad we have this gem nearby.

We had a lovely dining experience, and Richard, the owner, was so welcoming, and so excited about sharing his food. My mom who is a big fan of chicken wings, was convinced she actually had a chicken wing until she opened it up and found instead of a bone, a small piece of sugarcane to resemble the little bone that’s in a chicken wing. She said they were outstanding. I had the burrito another friend had a Philly cheesesteak all plant-based products. It was a great dining experience.

I was already sold when I saw it was all vegan AND black owned. The daddy-daughter duo is DYNAMIC. Love them! Personalities are unmatched and the food is great. Very knowledgeable about the menu and will give you an enthusiastic, knowledgeable spill so you’re not overwhelmed. All made fresh to order 🧡🥹 they put love into the food. I’m all the way in McDonough, Ga but I would make the 2 hour drive just to come back and have this experience again!

Being dairy free for 15 years, this has been the first time I’ve been able to enjoy a big order of nachos again! So yummy!!! Richard, the guy who runs this restaurant is such a wonderful character too. You can feel how much he loves what he does. I already can’t wait for the next time I go eat there!

Finally!!! An all vegan restaurant in Canton. I’ve been vegan for over 15 years and it’s so nice to order freely from a menu! I had the Baja Burrito, Himalayan tots and Mango Lemonade. First of all, the burrito is huge! I could barely eat half of it. Secondly, my family, who is not vegan, loved it too. The Cajun tots had the best flavor. Everything was delicious. I can’t wait to order again soon!

Met Richard today, he was so kind & had all the good vibes. I’ve been wanting to try here for forever and was so happy i had the extra time because wow. I haven’t had wings in years and to finally have a plant based version was amazing!!! He explained everything and made me feel comfy. Can’t wait to come back and try more. 👏🏻

This place is amazing!!! The food is incredible. I got the grand rising biscuit with Cajun tots and my (non-vegan) bf got the chicken Philly. We were both so impressed! The owner is also so kind, he threw in a side of chips and salsa for us just because. I’m going to come back every week. I can’t add a pic of my food because I ate it too fast lol

Very cool experience! Went there with my mom and we both thought it kind of strange being inside a gas station. However, if you look past the atmosphere it was pretty cool! The owner, Richard was really nice and he gave us a free lottery ticket for spending $20. I'd say 20 dollars for two people is definitely a pretty solid deal for great food and great service. I'd say pretty great experience overall!

Service and food was amazing. The food was seasoned to perfection, the portion size was plentiful. It was worth the hour drive. We are a family of four and each and every one of us are very happy.

Our entire family loved our Atypical vegan meal. The wings were crazy good and the burrito and burger were very tasty. Everything had lots of flavor. Also, don't skimp on dessert. What a wonderful experience! I have been vegan for six years and the Savage Burgers smokey flavor was something that I haven't experienced in a long time. It brought back a lot memories for me personally. Even better than that was the charisma and passion Richard had for his food. You can tell he is an individual of quality. Fantastic restaurant!
