Sometimes
good
things
happen
when
you
least
expect
them…
Last
Friday
night,
my
wife
and
I
went
to
Downtown
Miami
to
participate
in
an
event
which
turned
out
to
be
an
opportunity
to
dine
at
Morla.
I
found
this
restaurant
using
the
OpenTable
app
on
our
phone
and
decided
to
go
for
it.
We
found
public
parking
conveniently
located
across
the
street,
not
free
parking
though…
you
need
to
pay
through
the
metered
machine
on
the
lot.
This
is
convenient
knowing
that
parking
can
be
an
issue
in
any
city's
downtown.
The
front
of
the
restaurant
is
unassuming,
we
had
to
knock
on
the
door
to
be
let
in
by
a
very
friendly
host
who
welcomed
us
and
showed
us
our
table.
Once
you
walk
in
your
senses
are
going
to
have
a
feast!
Everywhere
you
look
there
is
something
that
catches
your
eyes,
the
place
inside
is
neatly
and
meticulously
decorated.
The
restaurant
is
run
by
the
owners
Sharon
who
runs
the
floor
and
her
husband
(the
Chef)
who
runs
the
kitchen.
They
are
a
power
couple
that
together
bring
a
modern
fusion
of
Peruvian
and
Mexican
cuisine
that
you
must
definitely
taste.
The
menu
had
14
tapas
to
choose
from,
they
all
looked
very
tasty.
We
ordered
a
couple
of
cocktails,
a
Tinto
de
Verano
($16)
and
a
Maracuya
Pisco
Sour
($16),
this
last
one
was
a
piece
of
art!
From
the
menu
we
ordered
the
Guacamole
with
Octopus
($28),
the
Fillet
Mignon
Anticucho
($30),
the
Roasted
Pork
Hawaiian
tacos
($23),
and
the
Pear
Pasta
($23).
For
dessert
we
shared
the
Lucuma
Cheesecake
($13).
We
enjoyed
our
evening
very
much.
We
had
the
chance
to
talk
to
Sharon
who
told
us
about
the
plans
they
have
for
the
restaurant.
So,
remember
if
you
are
in
downtown
Miami
and
feel
like
having
something
different,
set
your
GPS
to
91
SE
2nd
St.
and
you
will
find
MORLA,
a
true
jewel
of
the
Peruvian/
Mexican
fusion
cuisine.
However,
if
you
are
very
hungry
this
may
not
be
the
place
you
want
to
go.
Remember,
the
menu
is
Tapas
sized,
enough
for
two
people
to
taste
the
food...
There
were
no
entrees
in
the
menu,
we
ordered
4
tapas
which
was
enough
for
the
two
of
us
to
share.
Our
final
bill
was
$200+
which
included
a
18%
service
charge,
and
they
give
you
the
option
to
add
more
tips
if
you
so
choose.
The
restaurant
has
two
ambiances:
indoor
seating
and
outdoor
seating...
I
cannot
wait
to
return
and
try
more
items
from
their
menu
once
the
weather
cools
down,
their
patio
looks
amazing!
