If you've stumbled upon this review, congratulations because you've found a hidden wonderful rockin' diamond in the heart of Hollywood proper. From the romantically lit bar to the mysterious decor that inspires HBO television series vibes, Black Rabbit Rose Magic delivers a sensory experience on many levels. You'll be very pleased to hear that the centerpiece of this establishment is not it's incredible drink menu, but the music talent that graces the stage multiple nights a week. For my experience, I was lucky enough to be hired to take photos of artist Matthew Grant and the talented musicians that jam right along side him until almost 2am. Dancing, whistling, crooning, and pure awe were the major ingredients to that Wednesday evening (really every evening). Sample the cocktails, take your new profile picture, make your current friend jealous, and find yourself some new friends with fine musical tastes when you visit the Hollywood staple that is Black Rabbit Rose Magic. - DGA

Visited last weekend as a surprise and enjoyed everything. Cocktails were good, bar was cool and show was great. Somehow we were upgraded to VIP! Afterward, we ate the Thai food that is available inside the bar. The food was delicious. Great surprise and date night!

Funny and entertaining magic show. Great Date place. Being on Hollywood Blvd there is small quick places to grab something to eat or grab thai food inside at the bar.

A magical and immersive venue with a variety of live entertainment from magic show, to jazz bands and burlesque/ cabaret. This very kitschy baroque bar is worth multiple visits for a magic castle-adjacent experience. Choose your cocktails wisely, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

My friends and I loved this magic show 🀩! It was really quirky, fun and funny πŸ˜†! And it really felt like a cross between the Haunted Mansion πŸ‘» at Disneyland 🐭 and the aura at Harry Potter πŸ§™β€β™‚οΈπŸ§™πŸΌβœ¨πŸ¦‰πŸ§ΉπŸ» πŸ—Ί 🌍 πŸ˜‚! The magicians were so vibrant and lively πŸ˜„! We were very amazed as well by the lady who could swallow fire πŸ”₯ and razor blades! That is so crazy 😳!! The magicians really made this show such an interactive experience as well by inviting some of the audience members to participate in the show πŸ˜ƒ! My rating of 5 stars here is for the show itself πŸ™‚! One of my friends and I ordered the honeybunny cocktails 🍯🐰🍸. They looked nice and misty πŸ˜Άβ€πŸŒ«οΈ, very much how you would expect cocktails at a magic show to match the ambiance of the mystery there. But for the price we paid, we only got 2 sips out of each of our glasses, which seemed to have more ice than actual cocktail ingredients. They looked better overall than they tasted! So for our drinks, I would give a rating of 4. Our waiter though was definitely a five-star waiter πŸ˜ƒ! He was really courteous and friendly, and made sure he conscientiously took care of our drink orders before the β€œMagic Hour πŸͺ„ 🎩" started πŸ™‚!

Came here for a show (they do music during the week when there isn't magic). Places opens at 9pm & it was hard to gain access. There's an guy with a killer beard that lets you in. Zig Zag (rum w/ black currant) cocktail was great & their theatre was so cozy :) Will have to try the food next time & actually go see magic!

This joint is in the heart of Hollywood, smack dab on the blvd strip located inside the historic Hillview high-rise (now Hudson Apartments). When you walk in, you will observe a dimly lit small room with an L shaped bar area with a few booths. The decor gives "Speak-Easy" vibes with its slightly distressed wood and with some metal nick naks and hot sauce bottles on the wall. This historic building was actually a speak-easy at one point in the early days of Hollywood, even hosting stars like Charlie Chaplin, so the layout was pretty interesting. There are two small rooms separated by the Hudson Apartments lobby that looks like a Willy Wonky corridor headed to the Emerald City. One room is the bar area, as previously mentioned, and the other room is literally where the magic happens. Yes, this place is known for their famous magic shows on the weekends and their great live music nightly. I was there to check out an artist named Matthew Grant, and he and his band did not disappoint! The show was amazing and the energy was nice. The showroom is also dark and very intimate with very close quarters, but it definitely makes for a more personal experience. I'm sure the magic show is πŸ”₯. I would say the dress code, in my opinion, is not casual or dressy. It is "sexy/classy," if that makes sense. They also have a patio area if you need a little air while enjoying a nice cocktail. I definitely look forward to watching a magic show here next.

Dave Yaden. Monday Nights. Grammys winner. More than one. Live band. Dave. Yaden. He's dripping sweat from how passionately and quickly and lovingly he plays piano. I call him the white Stevie Wonder. You shouldn't call him that though. Because his name is Dave. Of the Yadens. He's also a dad. But Monday Nights. Reserve a table if ya like. They write your name on a cute card. Look. FREE. You will be CHANGED and feel ALIVE AGAIN! If you haven't been feeling that way. Oh, bring your double mask. Lots of vaccinated peeps but I bet some aren't. No judgement. Just informing. They have a small smoking area outside, but I wish you all the best in letting the music soothe and help you let go of your nicotine fix for at least one night and love them lungs. No judgment, just support. They have a separate lounge area near a bar and the lounge area you enjoy the singing and performances in the stage. Great seating on the edge IA slightly raised so everyone has a mostly good view of the amazing action on stage. Yaden. Dave. Remember that name. Hope all of you are safe and sound and finding ways to still live fully with or without masks, but always with respect and care for each other. All love. πŸ™πŸΏπŸ˜πŸ˜ŒπŸ’šπŸŒžπŸ’«

Kinda of a disappointment! Read the reviews and even got a personal recommendation. I surprised my husband for his birthday with a date night here. Service wasn’t great- kinda rude and standoffish. But the main reason for the ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Was the entertainment. Sub par. I heard about magic with Fire? Nope. Just a guy telling jokes and doing some tricks with cards and a woman who sang. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless they step up their magic show- otherwise environment is awesome and the place is cool! If the prize was cut in 1/2, maybe worth it. Oh, and don’t order the hunny bunny 🍹- it’s terrible and after taste lingers for days?

What an interesting venue! The food was excellent and quite reasonably priced. Portions are on the smaller side but enough to satisfy. The eating area is more like a bar setting so if you are in a large group get there early and stake a claim for a group of tables. It was the 21st birthday party for my grandkids so we had a fairly large crowd. After dinner we attended the magic show which was really fun. It is held in another part of the building..a small speakeasy. There is an additional charge for the show but well worth it. They speak of the historical significance of the venue which is very interesting. NOTE: You have to be 21 years old to be admitted to the restaurant and show so no children.

Black rabbit rose magic show was amazing!!!!! Highly recommend for any occasion or just because. My hubs took me for my anniversary and I had the best time. The staff was beyond amazing and the drinks were out of this world.

I've never been here before but I will say that this place was awesome!! This past Friday I got to see Prince (not the actual Prince obviously) and his band perform and the vibe was amazing!! The music was jumping, the crowd was very much engaged, and each of the band members had their own solo riffs that they did to show off their amazing talent!! There were some known public figures that either performed and/or attended the event and overall it was a great experience!! I'd definitely would go here on a Friday night to catch a great act and some wonderful music! For those who like live music, make you way to the Black Rabbit Rose Magic and get a kick at what goes on there. Great Job guys!!!

This show is absolutely top-notch. I can’t say enough about how amazing the people in the show are and the variety of different types of tricks as well. The crowd involvement was amazing. The drinks were so different and delicious. I don’t see how they could possibly improve. It is literal perfection.

This is such a cool spot to meet friends or colleagues for a happy hour meeting. Mondays are awesome! I've been here on a Friday and Saturday also and those are really busy days. So it depends on what you like.

We saw a late Friday night Magic show. We got there early and found out that the entrance was off to the side, the one with flowers on the door. If you get there too early, you will have to wait at the bar until they announce they are now seating for the show. The website says to dress cocktail or evening attire but seen a lot of people not follow and they still let you in. They serve drinks before the show and not listed on the menu non alcoholic drinks. Just ask the server for them. The show itself was awesome, the performers we amazing. It was a great experience since they had the audience participate. I highly recommend trying to go at least once.

This place is carried by the magician. Below average cocktails and service, good food. For a prime location speakeasy spot. The actual drinks were half step from dive bar. Fishtail limes , no fresh mint and marachino cherries were the first red flag walking up to the bar. On paper the cocktails look crafty, plasticy cups and absolute absence of garnishes dont help these drinks. Or encourage an instagram photo. Freddy naft was far too harsh and had little to no tamarind flavor. Sad lemon peel garnish Dove tail was a nice simple whiskey sour but they made no attempt at a nice speakeasy bitters design. Infact a horribly ugly blob was the design. Zigzag lady just tastes like a glass of welches grape juice, no balance. Smoke and mirrors was the best cocktail, very good. My food came out 20 minutes before my wife's, we would have said something but thats how long it took them to return to the table. Drunken noodles were delicious and so was the fried rice. But the service team seemed like they were not on the same page at all, appetizers came half cold, and the second arrived upon letting them know we were also missing it. Pretty decor but I have no interest over food/drinks/service. Suuper fun magic show, Rovi was amazing and funny, I recommend this place for him alone one time. Just get well cocktails and ask the servers for your food sooner. Overall, it is not recommended for cocktail lovers. Just go eat at their thai restaurant for the food. If they could drop the price in half and just do tickets for the magician, I'd return.

The venue is really unique and the show was fun - good energy! Bar drinks were great, limited drinks in the show itself so grab drinks before you head in.

Amazing time! So much fun and the magic was great. Drinks are heavy pours and love the old speakeasy. Really fun night in Hollywood.

The magic show was very entertaining. Drinks were excellent. The host was very professional. I would recommend arriving close to show time unless you dont mind waiting in a very small bar with minimal seating. I had 930 tickets, we were not sat until 10. Dress code was not enforced. We dressed up only to see guys in tshirts and jeans. I really enjoyef the show. It was quirky and funny. They involve the audience and made sure to acknowledge special occasions.

The paid show itself was so much fun. 5 stars for the show. They really know how to engage the crowd and I was in awe throughout the show. The reason I’ve taken off 3 stars is because of the fact that we ordered 2 drinks but they charged us for 4. This happened at the bar when my husband paid for our drinks and they said it didn’t go through so they asked him to try again so he tapped his credit card again. We didn’t get a failed transaction receipt when we should have. We tried emailing the company but have not received a response for a month. Make sure to ask for a failed transaction receipt if that happens to you! Each drink was about $20+tips so we ended up paying a lot for the 2 drinks on top of the the tickets to the magic show.

Fantastic intimate magic show. Really amazing close up magic and mentalism, wrapped up with a solid backstory and characters. Highly recommend. Tasty drinks. Ideal for a date night.

This is a great venue for very late night music. I was a regular when living in the neighborhood and have a great time. The staff is lovely and crowd is unique. Music starts around midnight and magic show is earlier in the evening. For music, every night has a specific artist that is highlighted. Mario and Tony are two great bartenders.

Such a fun place to have a drink and catch a show! I attended Miss Tosh’s burlesque show on a Friday and upon entering, was struck by how gorgeous the venue was. The drinks are fantastic, the host was a pleasure, and the many entrances and exits make the venue deliciously spooky. I heard they have awesome magic shows here too!

One of the more memorable themed restaurant bars in L.A. The magic is mesmerizing, the magicians are clever, and the decor and presentation transport you for an hour to a bygone time. Food and drinks are good too.

Amazing experience! Bought the tickets on the fever app. Took my boyfriend for his birthday and he enjoyed it very much. Such an entertaining show, would go again.

Such a fun great experience! Get there early and have a drink. I do not suggest getting food. It was not very good and they were out of a lot. The show was fantastic! Everyone was awesome. Will definitely be back!

Chilled, relaxed spot serving up delicious cocktails and incredible live music performances. I'd recommend the 'Dark Arts' cocktail and any of their specials.

I've never seen a magic show here but the speak easy bar, where patrons are hanging out before the show, is one of my favorite in Hollywood. Great mixologists producing awesome Whiskey Sours and Old Fashions for a reasonable fare. Nice atmosphere and lots of random people that seem more than happy to engage in conversation.
