Made a reservation in advance to have a special night for a birthday celebration. Server was very obviously not trained and very clueless. He tried to put us by the front door right in the middle of all the foot traffic. They also must have not gotten the memo that Covid isn't spread by touch, because they forced us to use a QR code menu THAT DIDN'T EVEN WORK. After barely greeting us we were left to wait without being served drinks for awhile. We're used to high quality sushi restaurants with amazing service. This was not the case. When he finally decided to come talk to us we ordered the special Omakase menu that was the entire reason we made the reservation. The waiter said that the chef didn't feel like making that for us tonight. He didn't feel like it? Are you serious?? We left. And ended up at a sushi restaurant that knows how's to treat their customers and are so happy we didn't end up going to this place. Read my other review if you want to go to a quality sushi restaurant that knows what they are doing. This is superficial restaurant without substance. Spend your money elsewhere.

Cute authentic Japanese restaurant on Melrose! The servers were adorable and the chef was fantastic. Great ambiance! A few good vegan options. Would return again!

We were trying to find a really good spot to eat slightly more elaborate rolls and the place seemed great from the pictures; however, the rolls selection was limited to some very basic ones (maybe because of COVID) and the quality although good was really nothing out of the ordinary. Got the Cod in soy sauce as a warm entree but for $34 dollars you get a very slim piece of fish with “leaves” of Brussels sprouts as a decorating element. Tasty and good food overall with courteous staff but the starvation portions and the average quality rolls wouldn’t make me want to come back. Spent $120 in two and left VERY hungry.

Wow, what an amazing atmosphere as well as dining experience. Very cute and cozy sushi restaurant. Such an above exceptional experience! The waitress, Young, was so kind, friendly and attentive. She made great conversation and had an interest in what we had to say! She made great recommendations and described our inquired menu items perfectly! Excellent service by her! And the food was unbelievable! Great quality fish and portion sizes. Definitely worth the price. The chef definitely knows what they’re doing. Over all great experience. We will be coming back next time we’re in the Hollywood area!

Sushi and Japanese dishes. Everything is prepared with care. The shishito peppers had shaved salt (not salty at all), Wapa (wooden boxed rice dish), sushi assortment, and crispy rice with baked crab pictured.

Best sushi of LA! So close to the Japanese tradition! Food is high quality and the service is amazing… it’s not the American style that they rush you out of the door… I hope you guys are still open…

Grabbed the mixed sushi plate, an umi shiso roll, and an oshinko roll. (I got the Sapporo at the liquor store on the corner.)This restaurant is EXCELLENT! I worked at a really great sushi restaurant in Seattle for 6 years, so I’m pretty picky and often disappointed. I was happy to see some Saba, bonito, scallop, and kanpachi in the selection, not just the Omakase staples of salmon/tuna/yellowtail. I also appreciate when sushi restaurants have the light colored ginger vs. the pink colored kind. :) I ordered to go and think they are only offering to go right now since no one was in there and the door was locked when I showed up. Though, I did see in Google that you needed a reservation. This is probably how they are handling the vaccine card requirement, as many other businesses seem to be doing. Anyhow, the only small thing was that the miso soup warmed everything up a little, but not enough to make it a big deal. I was impressed with the thoughtful way they stacked the food… cardboard under the miso, then the veg rolls, then the fresh fish, doing the best they could to keep the miso away from the fresh fish. Oh! And, I loved that the miso had whole chunks of mushroom and large pieces of seaweed. It was a great way to end the meal. :) Domo Arigato!

my absolute favourite izakaya in Los Angeles. Authentic delicious food, good portion size that allows you to try different dishes. Wonderful and thoughtful service. 11/5 !

Amazing quiet sushi place in west Hollywood. Absolutely delicious. The chef is incredibly talented and our server was very sweet 😊 happy we stumbled upon this place for dinner. We ordered another round to go as soon as we were done!

Gave the 18% before looking at the food. Bottom line, another toilet of a restaurant. Overpriced, they say Japanese but more Korean/ Mexican. They don’t even know what Sashimi is let alone Udon. It’s not supposed to be pasta…..everything is a complete failure, no quality control, just incompetence. Ordered (1) Salmon & (1) Spanish Mackerel sashimi; (1) roll tuna sushi & Udon soup with tofu. ….& a root beer. Receipt attached but obviously aside from being cheated, got vomit in styrofoam & a napkin

Anniversary date night meal, and it was fantastic. You can taste the freshness of every dish. Excellent example of less is more, will definitely return!

Extremely good tasting food. I had low expectations. My friends dragged me here for an early dinner and the restaurant was empty. A few dishes later I was in heaven. This quality is very very high. I eat a lot of sushi and this is above average fish. Very premium feel to each dish. Nice contrast of character among dishes as many ingredients aren't reused giving every dish a unique feel. Highly recommend!

Some of the best sushi I have ever had (including several other places in LA and NYC). Yong was an attentive and courteous waitress and the chef took time to explain the origins of the fish when I asked. Their sushi lunch ($27) was the perfect amount of food with a variety of preparations and flavors. Would come here weekly for lunch if I lived nearby.
