Amazing experience, flawless food! I am not a Italian food fan but since this restaurant is 100% plant based we decided to give it a try and boy what a good choice. We ordered the pizza Capricciosa which was absolutely delicious, well balanced, excellent crust, good sauce and such an amazing cheese (cashew I think), the potatoes come with this “Parmesan” cheese that got me speechless. Lastly, I would also recommend getting dessert there. The chocolate fudge cake is pretty amazing. Excellent service, nice ambience. It’s super busy and popular, I would recommend making a reservation ahead. Definitely coming back to this lovely place!!

Pura Vita will forever be my favorite Italian restaurant. I went for the first time 3 years ago when I first went vegan and it was love at first bite. You won’t miss “regular” Italian food because you’re not losing any flavor coming here. I go much more often now that I live closer and can afford it. Yes, it is very pricey if you don’t want to share a plate, but it is so worth it if you’re on a budget and come every once in a while. The carbonara, mozzarella sticks, and hard strawberry lemonade are my go-to order. The baked ricotta, meatball parmigiana, and black magic lasagna are also amazing! If you don’t know what to get, for sure get the carbonara.

Best Organic Wine bar in town! Pura Vita’s vegan restaurant and pizzeria is perfect for dining solo at the wine bar, date nights or meeting friends. They offer organic wine, natural wine and biodynamic wine selections. Their cashew mozzarella caprese is delicious, pastas and pizzas are good to share. The chocolate peanut butter pie dessert is my favorite!

The service is fast friendly and efficient. Every single person there was super sweet and very willing to help with whatever you needed. The food is fresh it is presented amazingly well. They use cloth napkins and real silverware. It's classy and yet fun at the same time because there's an aura of casualness built in just because of the location in West Hollywood. This is a woman-owned business which is always an amazing plus! And I cannot say enough about how good the food is. Like I would fight people in the street for this food.

Absolutely incredible! Everything we ordered was some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had (vegan or not). The mozzarella sticks and carbonara were our favorites. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!

This food is delicious!! The Black Magic Lasagna is to die for. Filling and delicious with every bite. Yum yum yum. I can’t wait to come back. The place was bustling so I sat at bar. Reservations are a good idea as this was just a Tuesday night.

What a wonderful dinner! The food was great but our waitress was freaking amazing!!! Best service I've had in a long, long time. You know when, at the end of the dinner, and you feel like your waitperson is your new best friend? If you love vegan food and exceptional service, you will not be disappointed 💗🥰

Delicious vegan Italian food! We enjoyed the meatball sandwich and black magic pizza for lunch. I love that the “meatballs” and cheeses are homemade and wholesome and not processed vegan meat and cheese products like you may find elsewhere. The food here is superb quality and taste. The pizza is large and filling (bigger than a personal pie and enough to share) and the crust and bread itself is really tasty. If you are on a no-oil diet though, this place isn’t for you as there was a lot of oil in the sandwich! ☺️

The food was incredible. The staff was friendly and attentive. Every dish we ordered was delicious. 100% vegan restaurant. Outside and indoor seating. Only street parking is available. Highly recommend you order a bunch of different dishes and share. This way you can truly enjoy the variety.

I really wanted to love this place, the reviews are incredible and I’m really not that picky so I thought this would become my new favorite restaurant but sadly it is not. We ordered bastocini di mozzarella (supposed to be mozzarella sticks), black magic pizza, carbonara and one of the pasta special (pasta alla vodka) I’ll start with the good things: table reservations was easy and we were able to still get a table even though we were over 15 minutes late, the mozzarella sticks were pretty good- they were crispy but not much substance but definitely a good substitute to the real mozzarella sticks. Now, the other dishes were simply not that good. The carbonara had a very strong lemon taste, the special was extremely salty to a point where I could barely eat two bites and the pizza claimed to have black truffle in it but I didn’t taste any of it. The dishes felt extremely unbalanced and needed some very necessary tweaks such as a pinch of sugar to balance the taste. The prices are also pretty high for the actual dishes that you get in terms of quality and quantity. So we left that evening disappointed and hungry :(

Great organic vegan italian place. Worth the one hour drive for outstanding vegan caprese and lasagna. I'm not vegan or vegetarian and I loved it. This place doesn't disappoint.

Its rare to come across a vegan place that is not terrible and pretentious. Thankfully this one was one of them. Cleverly crafted pastas and great non alcoholic beverage options

My girlfriend and I went here for lunch one day, and ordered the marinated olives as an app. It was super tasty!! I ordered a cocktail & it was pretty sweet, which isn't typically something I go for. The salad I got was the best vegan caesar i've ever had. My gf's pasta was tasty too! If I ever return to the area, I will make my gf go out on a date with me here <3

Amazing food! The pasta and pizza are great, but the shareables (Fritti menu) are the real draw. The food is extremely fresh and full of flavor and most of the menu is gluten-free or gluten-free optional. The gluten-free bruschetta, by the way, has a wonderful, spongy texture -- we had to check with the server that he hadn't misunderstood us and served us wheat-based bread instead.

Pura vita has the best food in LA— not just the best vegan food. The best food. So many different and unique pizzas as well as traditional ones, amazing apps, amazing deserts, the pizzeria is great for takeout during the pandemic, order is ready super fast, friendly staff. A+ to this establishment 👍

As an Italian American, you never think anyone can top your cooking skills . Pura Vita takes classic dishes I make at home and modernizes them with a twist. Not only did I find the vegan options full of flavor but they are healthy. Gluten free, vegan, and high in protein... very rich and filling. I was so stuffed. From the vegan mozzarella sticks to the gelato, everything was delicious. I highly reccommend it. ONLY CAVEAT: If you have nut allergies, this place may not work for you. Italians put cheese in everything. Their cheese is a nut based cheese made of cashews. There are cheeseless options on the menu but just keep that in mind when you order.

The good news is - the food is very good. But the operation is quirky to say the least. Looks like one restaurant but - there are two different menus (one has the extra word "Pizzeria" on it). Same font, same "Pura Vita". AND, that one is not in print. You can only see it by using one of the QR codes pasted on the table. There are crossover items on both menus. And, if you order from both you get two separate checks. For a business segment that has the highest mortality rate - why add a level of complexity that detracts from the customer experience and forces the wait staff to spend time explaining it to EVERY new guest? I'm not sure why this situation exists but the owners need to kiss and make up.

This restaurant is not voted the best restaurant for nothing, wow! A fully vegan Italian restaurant, we haven't had that before! We tried some brunch items like the stuffed Nutella pancakes, which were definitely the best pancakes we've ever had, (no pictures, gone before we could), the Cornetto and french toast... plus the frittata and pasta carbonara are crazy good and creamy too. Please go and eat your heart out! The service is on point and the place looks nice. Bonus is the pet grooming nextdoor so cute doggies are looking at you while you eat😂😂

Was extremely dissapointed the last time we went. We ordered a calzone to go, and it was drenched in oil. The oil literally leaked through the container and onto my clothes. Inedible.

Soggy pizza with wet chewy leaking base but the crust was good. Something wrong with what I got served, maybe too much toppings? Won't recommend, lot of better pizza places around that area

What a delight… such a great experience here. Started off with a vegan Caesar salad which was soo good. The crunch of the chickpeas was on point. The Carbonara was super tasty as well, one of my favorite vegan dishes I’ve ever had! The ambience was nice and calm, with our waiter being very friendly and welcoming. I also enjoyed the vibe of the whole area Pura vita is located in!

I recommend this establishment to any lover of fine Italian food, vegan or not. They make a lot of their cheeses in house and import most of their products from Italy. And aside from their delicious offerings of pizza and pasta, they offer a wide selection of natural and certified organic wines. Visit with an empty stomach and leave fulfilled!

*licks fingers* where to BEGIN! Just a really delicious restaurant. I got their classic margarita along with the cacio e pepe. So classic, so good. I got so full but our party still split the chocolate cake with a raspberry drizzle. Yum, yum, and YUM! Also - they bring each table a bruschetta of sorts. Very garlicky, very good. Probably could’ve just been garlic bread, but I suppose the tomatoes on top were fun.

Wow, you get the real deal here. Big portions, high quality, all freshly made. No more words are needed. We tried the salads, Greek Goddess and Caesar. Both excellent. Then we had calzone, huge, stuffed with meatballs, pepperoni, and cashew mozzarella and it was really very good. The only thing it's pitty that they use white processed sugar in desserts, which I believe are very delicious but could be made healthier. We tried also mozzarella sticks which are truly fabulous part of the menu very close to original. Thank you for great experience, we will come back.

1000% what a vegan restaurant should be. All about the quality and taste not just the branding of claiming vegan food. Chef Tara has really put some hard work in and this place is one of the best places you can eat in not just LA but California. Please give this place a try. It will usually be packed because many are finding out about this gem. Heard they are opening a pizzeria next door soon also!

One of my favorite dining experiences in Los Angeles. The excellent customer experience and stellar service is surpassed only by the incredible food. Yes, it’s all Vegan. No you probably won’t realize it. I’m not even remotely vegetarian and I love every dish I’ve tried. Be sure to ask for the specials. The owner and chef Tara is a culinary genius and always has surprise off menu items waiting to be enjoyed! Awesome exotic wine selection too. If you’re going for an early lunch you might be able to walk in. Otherwise make a reservation. Pura Vita fills up quickly and is always packed for dinner.

Some of the best Vegan food in LA. Love that there are good gluten free non soy options. Could use a little more flavor in the seasonings of a few dishes and maybe a few more gluten free pasta and meatball options but overall my girlfriend and I really enjoy this place. Brunch is cool too! I had the nutella pancakes. The pancakes were not that fluffy , kinda dense but still tasted good. Lasagna was good too but unfortunately found a hair in our food today. They corrected the situation by replacing the dish and deducting it from our bill so that made up for it. I will definitely order it in the future though! Bomb gluten free chocolate cake though! Plus pretty good service. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good vegan Italian. ??

**Carbonara * Food * Atmosphere Quaint little vegan spot, with amazing pasta carbonara. We also had the bread, the rice balls, and one of the spicy pastas (red sauce). All excellent but I’m not sure if I could not include the carbonara in my order when I come here ?. Chocolate chip cookie was a great end to the meal. Little pricey but you get what you pay for.

The food at Pura Vita is beyond amazing and is better than the majority of non-vegan Italian restaurants in California. I tried the spaghetti bolognese and puttanesca and was blown away by the flavors. Portion was just perfect and service was super friendly.

My son is a super picky eater and he thought this was a good place. We've never eaten at any Pura Vita. Anything new is a challenge for my picky eater and he never skipped a beat here. The pizza was good, lemonades great, dessert even better. I had their new power pack bowl which was very tasty.

Cool vegan Italian place in West Hollywood. Visited on a Sunday night, and were seated immediately. Soon after we arrived there were a large number of people waiting. For appetizers, we had the cashew ricotta with ciabatta as well as the mushroom lentil meatballs. Both of those were great. Tried the pesto pasta for one of the mains, and found it average. Also tried a special not on the menu - the baked 3 cheese pennne with marinara, which was a little overwhelmingly creamy. Would recommend trying the restaurant but perhaps different entrees.

I'm not vegan, my son and his wife are. They are always inviting us to total vegan places to eat, most are not to my liking. Tonight was an exception. The food was outstanding, the music fantastic. The only negative I could find for the place is it's small foot print and limited tables. I am a Brooklyn raised Italian and love, love real Italian food but I gotta say, this was the best vegan food I've ever eaten. We live in Simi Valley, but it's definitely worth the drive. Ciao..

Amazing food, especially if you seek vegan/vegetarian cuisine. I had the the Ceasar Salad & Cabonara made with Shiitake mushroom bacon. It was wonderful! Friends had the lasagna and linguine both were excellent as well. I plan on going back again and again to taste all their dishes. Strongly recommend that you make reservations. The dining space is cozy. Hopefully they'll be extremely successful and open another location with a larger dining area and a smaller bar.

After my friend finally watched the documentaries" the game changers " , " what the health" and YouTube "dairy is scary". She is on the plantbased/vegan journey for health now! Yay! There are Gluten free option too! You can truly taste the quality of food , romantic ambience, great for dating , birthdays you name it!!

Pura Vita is incredible and wildly tasty. The sauce or the “marinara” tastes like being back in NY/NJ area with flavors of Italy. The meatball parm sandwich made from lentil mushroom meatballs and both of their lasagna choices are to live for!! Their TIRAMISU is the best version I’ve ever had anywhere both vegan and non vegan.

OMG. I just drove down from Northern California this morning to visit a friend in LA and stumbled upon this place after a long drive (thank you google for guiding me there). That was possibly the best meal I’ve had in my 48 years of life, it was literally transformational. The chef/owner Tara is like some sort of angel (I was able to talk w her). She is a superstar, I’m predicting an episode of chef’s table (or something of the sort) in 3 years or less. If you want details about the food read the other reviews (I’m too busy blissfully digesting to share). The only thing I can say right now is that Tara’s food reminds me of the experience of seeing D’Angelo and Prince perform together live at a private show (yup I saw that). Other level. Life changing.

Such a cute little Italian restaurant. We came in on a Sunday afternoon. It wasnt super busy so we got sat right away. Our server was super nice and prompt. I dont remember the name of the appetizer that we got but it was the "meatballs" it started with a p that's all I remember. It was sooooo good. Pure Vita is the kind of vegan place that makes you forget that the food doesn't have meat in it. Didnt miss the meat at all. I ordered the carbonara. It was delicious. I could eat that all day honestly. My boyfriend ordered the lasagna and it was also delicious. I swear he took 2 bites and was finished with it. This place has really good food. Definitely give it a try.

first off-- the absolute MESSIEST pizza i've ever had in my entire life! about 4 stars for taste, 1 star for the texture. MUST be folded up to eat at all. by the time u tear into the crust, literally EVERYTHING squishes all over. beware, u will end up looking like a slob, with your hands covered in toppings.

Obsessed. The black magic lasagna - holy satisfying decadence. And the meatballs and carbonara - everything my meat free heart has been craving. Oh and the baked ricotta? So happy to have you in the neighborhood - can't wait to make myself a regular!

Absolutely incredible food. The only Italian food I've had that holds a candle to Pura Vita is in Italy. By far my favorite vegan restaurant in LA. I love that every dish is so carefully crafted, and the menu doesn't rely on the novelty of faux meats to carry it. And the gluten free options are plentiful!!! Thank you chef Tara Punzone for creating this fabulous establishment!

I recommend getting the Cesar Salad that was the only thing I throughly enjoyed, amazing flavors and textures. Strawberry Mint Limonata- heavy on the liquor and not very sweet, didn’t care for it Carbonara-sauce was unpleasantly sweet to me but the mushroom crunchems where good Pomodora- looked delicious, didn’t try Polpettine- great flavor and perfect with the bread and sauce but too soft, it wasn’t as firm as I’d like. Kinda mushy. Bread and dip- fresh bread, a nice crunch on the outside, warm and moist inside, didn’t like the dipping sauce it was heavy, very similar to hummus. Would have preferred to have it with olive oil to dip in or the red sauce. Black Magic Lasagna- very tough lasagna noodles, saw that the top was burnt under all that sauce; good flavors but the sauce was too heavy and its all to soft. I have teeth for a reason. Some fresh vegtables to add crunch would do wonders. Lasagna Pura- noodles were way better and I liked the composition of this more the the Black Magic version but nothing special or worth sharing. Service was poor but since this is unique times, I understand and appreciate they’re work and effort. Overall I’d love to go back for the salad and try some of the other pastas. Hopefully outside of the pandemic they have better service and serve meals hot.

Ambiance was fantastic, low lights, soft music... We had the deep dish pizza and garlic bread. The toppings were generous and very fresh but that crust was off the hook! My girl and I ALMOST put away a large. Out waiter was very friendly and prompt for the most park, he could have come around to check on us a little more frequently but that would be my only complaint. This a great little intimate place for a first date.

Simply amazing. We had 3 courses. I was able to impress an Italian carnivore foodie with this place. Expect to pay for what you get though, for sure. 5 stars can sometimes come with a hefty price tag. Came home with left overs. They don't serve liquor but have great spritzers(wine based cocktails), even kombucha(with and without alcohol).

Best chicago style pizza ever. And i've been to a couple good ones in chicago, too. Mostly i get it to go, but its nice little dive restaurant, as well. They got cool 80s on the jukebox, a bar with some tasty beers on tap, and decent salads. Did i mention their pizza is the best ever? I think i've had all the deep dish combos. Their thin pizza is good, too, but i've had better in NYC.

Great location, service, and the carbonara pasta is wonderful. My boyfriend who isn’t a vegan loves it!

Absolutely DELICIOUS ! I’m vegan, but I went here with three non-vegans, and everyone loved it! I usually dislike ricotta, but I LOVED the ricotta ciabatta here. I also recommend the potato wedges !!

Super disappointing. Salad doesn’t include very many toppings. Pasta tastes like overcooked cheap spaghetti. I had high expectations for this place, but it didn’t deliver. Their specialty lasagna isn’t served until 5pm.

    Pomodoro was great

Bon bon! So good. I would definitely bring non-vegan friends. They won't miss a thing

Two great locations to serve your inner Italian cravings plant-based style.

Omg my brother told me about this place because him and his gf went here and let me say it is AMAZING. I am a huge pasta lover but since going vegan, I have never been able to find a place that has pasta that is just as good. The hardest thing to make taste good vegan is cheese, and this stuff is sooo good!!!! I am so happy they have delivery and takeout available right now. I recommend trying the carbonara. Wow I am just salivating thinking about it!!

I ordered delivery from Pura Vita Pizzeria tonight and WOW. I'm so impressed. The experience was easy and the Cesare salad is the best salad I've ever had. This place is a healthier, more sustainable option for enjoying pizza without sacrificing taste and I'm thrilled to have found it

I brought 4 "meat eaters" along with me when I came to this restaurant. We all thought the food was really good. My only issue is that I think the portions should be larger.

This review is long overdue! I came here for a late lunch one Saturday to celebrate my birthday with a friend. I called ahead to make a reservation and to ask about the menu because I have food allergies which I know can often be difficult, daunting, or even just a hassle for restaurants to accommodate. The person I spoke with (who I think might have been the owner) was very kind and patient about it and confirmed that there were several items on the menu I could safely eat. I can't say enough how much I appreciated her response and how welcome I felt, because, as someone who dislikes causing extra stress for staff at restaurants, I will often avoid dining out altogether. However, I had really been wanting to try Pura Vita for a while and was so looking forward to finally having some delicious vegan Italian food. Indeed, the food was as delicious, as thoughtfully crafted and as well-presented as at any upscale Italian restaurant I've been to. It managed to strike an elegant balance between delivering on all the comforting flavors of classic Italian food while still incorporating that necessary element of creativity that lives at the heart of good vegan cuisine. Since it was a celebration, we tried items from almost every section of the menu, and can attest that everything from the drinks to dessert and in between was fantastic. My friend, who is not vegan, agreed that the food was excellent. The service, too, is something Pura Vita should be proud of. I believe our waiter's name was Omar. He was incredibly kind and attentive. He made our time at the restaurant a pleasure. And, though I didn't speak with the owner or anyone from the kitchen while I was there, they were, through Omar, incredibly communicative and open, especially when it came to my allergies. This is a business that clearly operates with a great deal of integrity. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable. We happened to come by at an off-peak hour (I am not fond of crowds), but I can see how this place easily fills up during peak hours and becomes a cozy wine bar in the evenings. Finally, I'll say that of the many things there are to appreciate and enjoy about Pura Vita, what I especially liked was having the opportunity to support a female-owned business. I hope to revisit many times in the future, and in the meantime, I will continue to enthusiastically recommend it to all my friends.

Absolute fire. Highly recommend for vegans and non-vegans alike. This is just phenomenal Italian.

The food was delicious and the service was great. We went during brunch time. I would recommend reservations if possible. I just so happen to get lucky and was able to get a table without reservations. Since this was my first time I don't know if that will always be the case.

Absolutely fantastic vegan pizza. Only wish they had more gluten free pizzas—especially with "meat" toppings. Maybe they should consider adding Beyond meats to their menu if nothing else🤷‍♀️

I was given the task of finding a spot to dine in around the area. Without realizing that it’s vegan I chose pura vita. I’m the only non meat eater in the group so I had doubts whether my family would like the gastronomical experience there. However, the food was great. I really enjoyed the tofu sandwich and their tiramisu. Service was great too (I don’t remember our server’s name but I remember that he’s Polish lol!). Definitely recommend if you’re up for an interesting vegan experience!

Although the flavor was great...phenomenal... , the pizza was just too floppy for me; the dough in the center is not stable enough to hold all of those toppings and it was also very mushy and soggy and ultimately I did not enjoy my meal. 😩

**** ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! **** VEGAN / PLANT BASED OR MEAT EATER.... ummmm this place is for YOU!!! Don’t miss the chance to experience such. High Quality pies in the heart of weho!

good to see so many vegan options - pizzas were a bit overwhelming though, heavily crowded with toppings, would be better with less Tiramisu and vegan mozzarella sticks and meatballs were perfect

This place is off the charts. The Amelia 100% tastes like it has greyere on it and that chocolate chip cookie? Best one in the city, not a doubt in my mind!

We went on our anniversary date here. The interior of the restaurant is very moody with dark walls and black seating. We ordered a margherita pizza, pomodoro and two appetizers. The pizza is a bit overpriced for what you get and the center of the pizza was droopy. The pasta was cooked well but could have been even better. Both the appetizers had ciabatta bread and they were burnt in some places. The pizza underside was also a bit burnt. Our experience could have been much better if not for those. Also, parking is hard to get during the lunch rush.

Uhm wow . Googled vegan food near me and this place popped up so we decided to try it out. It’s a restaurant and pizzeria side by side . Our server was so sweet ( great service) we ordered an amazing Caesar’s salad and their pizza ! Oh my goodness - they do not skimp on the toppings . Thin crust and just full of flavor .. this place did not disappoint!

Excellent vegan pizza and pasta with quality and fresh ingredients. Staff is very friendly and service is fast. The vibe indoors is a bit more interesting than on the curb terrace. I recommend their calzone.

Delicious vegan Italian food in West Hollywood. Ordered a pizza, a lasagna special, and a ricotta ciabatta appetizer. All was very tasty. Good service, nice environment with outdoor dog friendly seating

Amazing experience all around!! We sat in the Pizzeria which had a nice moody intimate atmosphere. The service was phenomenal! Our server, Edith, was extremely friendly, attentive, and gave us amazing recommendations. The entire staff was kind. The food…probably the best vegan food I’ve ever had! We tried the Carbonara, Calabrese and Black Magic Pizza which were all delicious. The Carbonara was the favorite out of the three. It had a nice sweet and tangy taste to it. I’m definitely going to crave this in the future. We had the Pistachio gelato which was super sweet and the perfect dessert after our amazing meal. Overall, it gave real main character vibes and we will definitely be coming back in the future!!

AMAZING Italian restaurant and 100% vegan. They have glutenfree pizza too and everything tasted amazing. The staff is very friendly, but the prices are STEEP. I paid $35 for a normal pizza, so it’s more of a date night kind of place than a casual hangout. The atmosphere is beautiful and I will definitely be back.

Outstanding vegan pizza. Would give it 5 stars but a little overpriced.

I indulged in this delicious Italian food today and it is totally worth the hype! The prices are steep but the food you get is absolutely worth the price. I had an Amelia (arugula and white sauce) pizza but I added pepperoni and yes, that's the secret recipe. This food tastes so fresh and clean and NOT full of chemicals and trash. I am absolutely going to try everything on this menu systematically. We are so lucky to have this delicious Italian food at our fingertips here in LA! Thank you Pura Vita!

The most amazing vegan Italian food I've had the pleasure of eating, and a huge number of the dishes can be made gluten-free too!

  • 3/5 Juhi S. 4 months ago on Google
We ordered Baked Cashew Ricotta and PENNE ALL’ARRABBIATA. The baked cashew wasn't very flavorful. It wasn't cheesy at all and tasted like cashew paste. The bread that came with it was tasteful. Perfectly baked! The penne was also okay. Looks like they just mixed the tomato sauce and pasta. The flavors were not at all strong. The service and ambiance were nice. But, definitely not worth the price. I wouldn't go to this restaurant again.

Been here a couple times and really enjoy the main pasta dishes. Carbonara was my favorite and in my opinion a must order. Also had the avocado toast but wish the bread was toasted more. Apart from that, no complaints here and can't wait to go back to try more pasta!
