Visiting from Jacksonville,FL. Very intimate setting. Staff was friendly and very welcoming. Wanted to check out some comedy shows. Deon Cole was performing and he is one of my favorite comedians. My man and I had to check him out. To see him in the beginning stages was beyond my expectations. A rare form. We truly enjoyed ourselves.

Great spot! So fun. Cozy feel inside with so much history and so fun. Food was delicious. Stand-up Comics were funny. Drinks delish! Overall a great time. Street or valet parking available.

My new favorite comedy spot! After years of the Comedy Store, Westside, Largo, and UCB, I finally got to the Improv. Parking is…a you’d expect for the area, so be mindful of signs and meters. Once inside, there’s a bar if you want to drink before/after the show. You CANNOT take those drinks into the club, you’ve been warned. There’s a 2 drink/item minimum, but the fries were tasty and prices average for comedy venues. Here’s the thing, for the price, the lineup was fantastic. Great acts, quickly moved along with the host, and it came out to about 2 hours total time. I’ll definitely be back soon, and keep a closer watch on who’s dropping by. Nikki Glaser, David Spade, Ron Funches, Taylor Tomlinson, Fred Armison, Dana Carvey, they’ve got a good selection playing there often.

So worth seeing a show at the improv. Wayne Grady was awesome. It is a small, intimate place that adds to the fun. 2-item minimum is no problem as the drill and food options are plentiful. We arrived early and had a chance to talk to Wayne for a second and then hang out at the bar waiting for the doors.

You never know when you book tickets like these , but my gosh, I laughed my #ss off. It's a fun, small, intimate venue, meaning everyone can see and hear the stage and comedian very well. There's 15 minutes per stand up comedian and a host in between. Note that there's a 2-item minimum purchase on top of the ticket price. The food is not great, but the ambiance, service and comedians are totally worth all of it.

This comedy club is a great find, however your experience will vary widely depending on who is performing. It is very crowded inside and when the lights dim, nobody really enforces any masking (who can tell if you're actually eating or not). The audio system is very loud so be careful when a comedian yells into a mic. I would give it another chance, just most of the jokes either went over my head or fell flat the night I came.

Love the Improv. You never know who you'll see. Parking is usually ok for the late night shows. There's the Lab and the main room. I like the Lab because it's smaller andmore intimate. You get to be up close and personal. Always a good time here.

This is definitely the highlight of our LA trip. We managed to see a pretty stellar lineup with solid materials. Great crowd, super friendly service. Food is so so but hey, you're not exactly here for the food. We can't wait to be back again

The last time I visited this venue must have been over 10 years ago and it has the same magic flare! Ample street parking, easy entry and remote app ordering make it convenient and fun. They usually have amazing and renowned Headliners who are ever hilarious at all stages of comic development. I'd love to go back again and again, it's always a good laugh session!

Solid place to watch live stand up. They get great talent. Seating set up is ok not the best. The servers and hostess are some of the rudest people ever though. People come here to have fun and enjoy themselves. Meanwhile every employee in there is absolutely miserable. Super rude taking your drink orders it’s almost uncomfortable. It sucks for the customers paying a lot of money to see a show and try to enjoy their time.

Really loved coming here. My husband brought me here for our anniversary and we saw a lot of great comedians. There is the typical 2 item minimum but the food is really good so you'll reach your 2 item minimum easy. We kept it light because we had dinner plans and just got the seasoned fries and shrimp tempura along with the cucumber jalapeño drink. I will absolutely come back 😍

Great comedy club. On par with top spots like Comedy Cellar in NYC. Drinks and menu are solid. You don't need to seal up your phone. Staff is friendly. Great weekday experience seeing top comics try out new material (saw Patten Osawalt, Brittney Cummings, and John Mulaney all in one show).

Service was great and very organized. Everyone was nice too. A lot of places will get irritated if you don't know the drill. This was my first time here and they were very helpful and nice. It was refreshing!

Good location, lots of free parking on the street after 6pm. There is a two item minimum, so bring an appetite with you because the food was really good. Also seating is limited so the first come get the better seats.

Once a month, Brian McDaniel (TMZ, The View+) hosts one of the BEST comedy events in LA. McDaniel Mondays takes place in the cozy -Improv Lab. McDaniel Mondays is a party. Brian is a comic sommelier- the picks for McDaniel Mondays crafted for fun. Lots of regulars in the audience- including some high profiles from the entertainment world! Two item minimum- no hecklers.

Got really crammed in this venue for my show, almost uncomfortable cramming like I was forced to sit next to a girl and sometimes we would bump and I was uncomfortable I can only imagine how she felt. The service is quick and they are nice. Prices are kinda spiked like everywhere else, a bottle of Heineken was like $8. Really small stage but good for up and close!

Firstly i’m just going to start with i love comedy and this is by far one of my favorite spots to go to. Like literally i go to a show 3 times a month now if i can. one of my therapies and i will forever recommend people to go to the Hollywood improv. The comedians are fresh and are on the come up and you sometimes get the occasional legend. just an incredible experience! remember don’t sit front row unless your ready for friendly roast and expected to have high level of energy! Highly recommend this place for fun with friends and or a date (sit in second row). So you pay for a ticket and you have to get two item minimum when you’re sitting so do not forget that and pre plan expenses for the experience. Definitely worth it and you can always just order two cheap items or save an appetite and grab a bite. Check out the list of comics as they change regularly! Have fun!

I love it here!! I’ve been so fortunate to come on nights to see the GOAT Dave Chappelle, Tiffany Haddish, Craig Robinson, Deon Cole, Donnell Rawlings, and more perform. It’s always a good time and you never know who will get on stage.

Always a fun night out. Loved seeing nikki glasser! She always make me giggle. Great line up last night!

  • 3/5 Jabari R. 9 months ago on Google
Paid 25 cover charge with a 2 item minimum, which is all fine but they did not have enough tables to accommodate such restrictions. I was given 2 chairs with no table I had no where to put my drink or food. This was very unfortunate.

Had a good time. Clean throughout. Bartender super fun. Server during show was on top of everything and super nice. Wish I could remember her name right now. Drinks and food were great. Would definitely return. Be sure to arrive early...the line to get into the 2nd show was ridiculously long.

  • 4/5 luvzpln 2 years ago on Google
We had a great time ! Just 2 suggestions...the burgers were dry...still had great flavor and loved the fries. And, the bartender in the silent auction area made an EXCELLENT margarita. The 2 ordered during the show were not the same at all...3 Cadillac margaritas all differently made. We were there for the Stand Up for Pits event. We laughed so hard....thank you for hosting an awesome event.

It was incredible! I attended 'Niki King and friends' show and it was more than incredible. All the comedians on the stage were amazing, really funny and connecting to the crowd,Niki being most memorable, and I laughed my eyes off! If you haven't had a chance you have to go to Hollywood improv and treat your soul with something magnificent. Thank you everyone, amazing job done!👏❤

Good show as usual. Typically a 1st class line up at not an unreasonable price point. I like the no heckling policy. Nice organized helpful stuff. Don't have to give a credit card when you sit

Had a BLAST here. Great comedians world class entertainment. They have a cool way to order and pay for your food /drinks. Show starts on time and your guaranteed to have an amazing time for a cheap price. Plenty of awesome restaurants on this street to go to before or after your show.

I went to my comedy improv show at Hollywood Improv. I don't normally watch comedians or stand-up comedy, so I was skeptical that I would have a good time. I sat down at one of the tables and ordered my drinks. Each comedian had their own bit and they were very good with their piece. I actually laughed at some of the jokes. Some examples of their jokes were based around being a mom, being Asian, being an immigrant, being a husband, a lot about Covid-19, being Australian, etc. The crowd was pretty engaged and the comedians definitely picked out a few to connect to. At the end, we had a surprise guest: CRAIG ROBINSON! Darryl from The Office! He did a little singing and piano piece. He seemed to just chill on stage and do his thing. It was a nice little surprise. I'd say to try out Hollywood Improv because you will most definitely laugh from their array of jokes, but also there are small surprise like celebrity visits!

The lineup could have been better, however, other people were enjoying themselves. Perhaps I'm particular to certain types of humor. Also... A famous comedian who shall not be named showed up for an impromptu set and totally redeemed the evening with her savage honesty and humor. I had fun. If I could give this a 3.8 I would. Edit: I want to make sure I add that the part of the venue that our show was in was cozy and intimate. I liked that. And all of the staff members/employees I talked with were very friendly. I've decided to bump my rating up to a four, because 3.8 is really closer to that.

Really cool vibe and venue! The lineup was great, staff was courteous and considerate, and the host had a great energy. The main caveat was that our food took awhile to arrive, and when it did, there was quite a bit missing from the dish. Drinks and appetizers were totally fine, and waitstaff was very considerate and informative about the situation in the kitchen - so ultimately, no hard feelings 👍🏻Great experience overall, just maybe don't order any entrée items and stick to drinks and appetizers instead

LA has the best comedy club and the Improv is one of the top three. Awesome friendly service from the waitstaff and the hosts. They try and keep a pretty diverse line up of comedians, we had some great laughs and went home in a great mood.

  • 2/5 Lj J. 1 year ago on Google
Solely based on the bar experience (pre food) the gentleman at the door I get you Security but its a comedy club / bar a bit of a welcoming vibe and presence would have been great ! ...now for the Bartender ...his personality for a Bartender especially at a comedy club was just as weak we wont talk about the cigarettes smoke that comes through the big open window and door in the front smh...food was good although the bill had some sort of "add on tax" as stated on the bill another "scam" by businesses...when they pull that i don't tip ! the actual server (a young lady w/long ponytail) made up for her co workers lack of customer service

Had the best night. Great atmosphere and great shows. Saw Jim Jeffries and he was amazing !! Even the warm up acts were great! Will be coming back!

  • 4/5 Alfredo L. 1 year ago on Google
The staff were all incredibly sweet & helpful. The space and bathroom were nice and clean. I'd suggest showing up early (even before the time listed when doors open) because they do let you in earlier -- it was a full house but we showed up early and got really nice seats. And while you're waiting, you can just order food (since they enforce a two item minimum for each attendee). I'd recommend the loaded fries, the honey bbq boneless wings, and the chocolate lava cake.

  • 4/5 Marcus G. 1 year ago on Google
Service was a little off but I think something happened just before our show so I am not too concerned. Deray Davis is too funny as a host to care! Drinks couldn’t be stronger hahaha I had a good time for sure

  • 3/5 Angel 9 months ago on Google
Went to see Trevor Wallace tonight! He is awesome!! The food on the other hand 1/10 My tacos were cold and bland and my tortillas even fell apart when I tried to pick them up so I had to eat it with a fork...my nachos were cold as well and everything was outta the Can. Don't order food here it's not worth it! Just get water bottles or drinks!

  • 5/5 Laura the E. 1 year ago on Google
Really great show! Couldn’t believe what an intimate setting it is to see such big names. The food and service were great as well. There is a 2 item per person minimum, which could include merch. We really enjoyed the spinach dip.

  • 5/5 Michelle H. 11 months ago on Google
My daughter & I saw Tiffany Haddish perform after Chris Spencer & others warmed up the audience. I've attended 3 times & it's always been good comedians with great sets. They have a 2 item purchase requirement like most comedy clubs & the food was good. The Improv is always a good time.

  • 5/5 Ron M. 9 months ago on Google
The improv it's a comedy joint go there be prepared to laugh high-tech bar service is very convenient you order from your phone and your drinks pop up at your table! Nice staff nice atmosphere go there be entertained. Parking is a little weird couple of lots around the corner on the street You're on Melrose so you're on the edge of madness and Beverly hills at the same time. Watch yourself crossing the street cuz they will run you over!
