Everytime I make the journey to LA I visit this uniquely wonderful gallery and shop... oddities, books, clothing and amazing art all under one convenient roof. These pics are from a collaboration with another gallery as well as their own collection. La Luz De Jesus Gallery Tierra del Sol Gallery Collaboration event. ❤️

Whimsical fun. Things you didn't know you needed accompanied by art that you'll revel in; spent a quite of bit of time looking at EVERYTHING!

Quirky and off the wall. It is a blast to go there. They have all kinds of bizarre odds and ends to buy. And what's even better is that they always have local art on sale in their gallery. They also do occasional shows. La Luz is a must go to place if you love the contemporary art scene.

I am at a 4.5 but rounding up for all the amazing shows in past years. I love, love, love this place for decades, I don't particulaly love the last few shows. I am a low brow art dan and this gallery has exposed me (through the years) to some the most famous and also lesser known but amazing talents in this space. Art is subjective but when art looks like my 6 yo niece has more artistic merit than some of the artists of late (see Oct 2023 show for context), you lose credibility. The quality of artists on exhibition has gone way down since reopening after nearly a 1.5 year lockdown/semi lockdown (minus the Everything but the Kitchen Sync show). I still enjoy shopping the best curation of niche art books and trinkets, etc.. I guarantee you will not get such a diverse range of small run books in CA. In the event you see a book there, buy it because you support the store AND you may not find it anywhere else. I personally always shop local for just this reason. Buying books online is soulless. You enter La Luz and you are in another realm. There is quite literally a category for everyone. I always make time in my visit to browse (also buy). Great place to shop for your friends and family with more eclectic tastes. Very unlikely that anything you gift here will be given by someone else. Lots of affordable and UNIQUE gifts. You would be hard pressed not to find something for everyone here! ***Extra points if you visit and catch a glimpse of Billy Shire in all his incognito greatness. The third photo is sooo kisch that I had to post.

the best! I have been visiting this establishment since their original location in the 90s. They just keep getting better. practical jokes to tapestries, original atwork to fanzines, Tshirts to halloween masks!! Everytime we are in LA we go!!! A must see!! Keep on truckin'!

A picturesque and quirky place. There’s an interesting gallery in the back and everything you could ever want to purchase in the front. There are books, tarot cards, and lots of other amusing things. Definitely an eclectic place you must stop at when in LA. Michael Jackson used to go there, if you ask you can see a receipt of a purchase he made days before his death.

It was a interesting visit to the Art Gallery, I think there is art to every person. One room was drawings of whatever the artist had in his mind at the time of his inspiration. Room 2 was a very distinctive paintings of cats , very colorful and unique. I don't think i will pay 6,000$ for a painting of a cat ... but who knows. Beauty is in the eye of the behold. And that was not in mine.

One of my favorite places to stop by in LA. A great combo of a gallery space showing fun art + cute gift shops. I can easily spend 1+h here, and it’s a great spot to find cute little souvenirs 😊

This is my all time favorite Art Gallery, I've been a fan of it since the early nineties, when I was in art school, classmates of mine told me about it, I haven't stopped going over there since, and looking at their shows and also at their books, toys etc..which they also sell, they have the most interesting and unique artwork. And I've had the privilege to have exhibited there a few times. So if you're in the LA area stop by check it out, It will be worth your time trust me, this place is really something!..a lot of celebrities like to go there too🙏🙌👍🎨🖌

La Luz is ALWAYS an interesting, stimulating, thought provoking experience. Spoke with a lad in the gallery, very informative. Front desk folks are always nice

I had never been here before but I came for a book signing. I was pleasently surprised at how cute this place is. They've got a lot of crazy niche items. I can't wait to see what artists they have in the future.

So excited to see, in person, the works of some of the best artists I currently follow in the lowbrow and popsurrealist, etc, scene. All in a tiny little amazing hallway! And a pretty nice main gallery room displays the current show, or two, in a well-lit casual atmosphere. This place is not fancy and you won't feel uncool or out-of-place coming here. Plus the store that houses the gallery is a knick-knack collector's godsend.

Sloppy. Limited-edition print arrived poorly packaged, mailed in a stretched-out envelope sandwiched between two hand-torn pieces of cardboard that barely covered the piece. Arrived with a small crease in one corner. I've ordered much cheaper art that came way more carefully packaged. As a certificate of authenticity was not available, alternate documentation of the piece's provenance was promised but never sent. Gallery didn't respond to follow-up inquiry. Can't recommend, particularly for online purchases.

If my brain had a store, this would be it. Crammed with trinkets and treasures from jokey to arty. You can find a great coffee table book, satanic socks, and vintage themed toys for the littles. This store has continued through the ages of L.A and is a gem. There is usually always art to look at as well in the gallery. Great service, parking is hit or miss.I love Wacko.

This gallery is inside one of my favorite stores in LA. They have so many cool things to look at. I mean art books, postcard, and sooo many other interesting items. Possibly the perfect place to find a curious weird gift. The gallery allways has something out ot the box to showcase. Funnnn place to visit for sure
