I
went
to
this
facility
purposefully
because
I
thought
that
they
would
pediatric-focused
with
ample
kindness
and
a
gentle
nature.
Boy,
was
I
wrong.
My
9
year
old
hobbled
in
and
was
told
by
an
MA
without
even
being
evaluated
that
āitās
good
to
walk
on
itā
when
she
asked
her
to
unnecessarily
walk
unassisted
across
the
clinic
to
get
weighed
after
we
were
brought
to
our
exam
room.
Next,
we
saw
a
very
gruff
physician
who
said
at
first
(again,
before
any
evaluation
of
any
kind
or
imaging)
that
āshe
really
doesnāt
tolerate
pain
well,
does
she?ā
To
which
I
said
āIām
not
sure
what
that
means.ā
He
went
on
to
forcefully
push
and
pull
her
foot
without
ANY
gentleness,
even
as
she
had
tears
in
her
eyes.
He
then,
without
warning,
lifted
her
shirt
completely
up
to
listen
to
her
heartbeat.
Sheās
9
and
wears
a
training
bra
and
when
he
left,
she
said,
āMa,
he
didnāt
even
tell
me
he
was
going
to
do
that.
It
made
me
uncomfortable.ā
I
wasnāt
pleased
but
I
kept
my
mouth
shut.
They
took
X-rays
and
he
immediately
came
in
and
said
āall
clear!ā
Thereās
no
way
he
took
any
careful
time
actually
examining
the
X-ray.
Next,
someone
came
in
(a
tech
who
kept
talking
about
how
he
was
a
paramedic)
explained
what
a
wrap
bandage
was
for
about
three
minutes
instead
of
putting
it
on.
He
spoke
down
to
both
me
and
my
daughter
and
told
us
everything
we
were
doing
wrong
(how
she
was
walking
on
a
cane,
all
we
had
at
the
time
since
she
just
got
the
injury
at
school).
It
wasnāt
until
the
doctor
gave
me
her
note
for
school
and
said
āif
it
keeps
hurting
you,
you
need
to
go
elsewhere
because
we
canāt
help
youā
that
I
told
him
that
I
was
a
doctor
myself.
I
just
wanted
someone
to
tell
me
if
it
was
fractured
or
not
because
she
was
in
so
much
pain.
I
didnāt
need
someone
to
treat
us
so
demeaningly.
We
listened
to
them.
Even
after
all
this,
we
trusted
them.
But
I
shouldnāt
have.
We
did
everything
they
said.
It
still
hurt
her
so
much.
We
went
to
the
Stony
Brook
Orthopedic
Urgent
Care
four
days
later
and
guess
what?
She
had
a
fracture
in
her
growth
plate,
and
the
pediatric
orthopedist
there
showed
us
that
it
was
fairly
obvious.
This
happened
almost
two
months
ago
and
sheās
still
in
a
boot
cast.
I
hesitated
posting
this
but
I
am
sure
there
are
other
parents
out
there
like
me
who
think
this
place
is
better
to
go
to
than
a
regular
urgent
care.
When
it
comes
to
physical
injuries?
Avoid
it.
Make
the
trip
if
itās
not
ER-acute
to
the
Stony
Brook
Ortho
urgent
care.
