🌬️🌬️🌬️Let me just start by saying wow! It is in the city but once you get through those gates it is as though you are hundreds of kilometers away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is a serene environment and you get in touch with nature at its purest form. The animals are a sight to behold. What I personally enjoyed is the search for lions in the park. We drove around so much just to get a glimpse of the kings of the jungle but if I am to be honest with you, it was our fault for not going early enough because as I found out that day, once the sun is out, it is quite a task to catch a glimpse of the lions and if you're not lucky enough you might not get to see them at all. So what is my advice to you? Get to the park early enough. To be more specific, if you're able to be there at 7 or even earlier, the better for you. If you get there at noon , then I hate to break it to you but there's a very high chance that you'll miss out on seeing the pride of the jungle. The park has prided itself in maintaining a clean environment for the animals which is very commendable as it's a very vast area. At the gate you are handed recyclable bags to put your trash in so as to avoid loitering in the park which poses a risk to the animals. GO GREEN OR STAY HOME! Another thing I'd like to comment on is the beautiful picnic sights. It feels like ...ugh I can't even find the right words but once you're there my friend, you'll get what I'm telling you. The game rangers are very nice and very helpful. I'd personally advice renting a tour van for the Ultimate experience. Also the road there is a bit rugged on some parts so it might damage your personal vehicles. The tour vans are high enough. So why risk your priced possession when you can get a luxury tour van at an affordable price. We rented ours for ksh11000 for 7 people. For further inquiries please comment but for now,... if you haven't visited the park, what are you honestly waiting for? Take your family and friends and go make memories that will last you a life time!❤️🏞️

Definitely not the most picturesque park in Kenya, but a great option very close to the city. Your best opportunity to see rhinoceros as they can be very hard to spot in the other national parks. The park is a nice introduction to Safari.

Conveniently located Right in the heart of the city. So for those of you visiting Nairobi for a short period, this is the park you need to visit. Check migration dates etc before you venture out so that you aren’t disappointed. I was quite intrigued but he ivory graveyard and the governments efforts to curb poaching by. Truly commendable. Was so happy to see two lions as well. Thankfully they had just eaten, so were resting and we got a fairly close up shot of them. You definitely need a local guide/driver to take you in or else you’d be happy hire lost. Yes it’s a trifle expensive for non-residents

The park as a way to fill in a day between flights and wow was it worth it! Our first national park but was a bit hesitant as it was so close to the town but we were not disappointed. We did have some issues paying the entrance fee as their credit card machine was not working and apparently often has issues. Lucky for us, our guide paid with his own card and we paid him the cash directly As soon as we went through the gates we saw animals almost immediately! The city skyline behind was just mind blowing If you have been to the Serengeti or any of the other great parks, this isn't spectacular, however we did see Rhinos , buffaloes. If we need to look at the beauty at the National Park will see that more needs to be done for the animals to make them more attractive. It would be easier to track animals for easy spotting. Sometimes we drove aimlessly for minutes. Looked like it was waste of time and the zoo would probably be the best bet. Getting to see the animals in their natural state is exciting. so it as great to tick that one off so early Worth the visit it. We saw lions and Buffalo.

Nature is beautiful. Had an awesome experience here during an evening game drive. It was my first experiencing the wild and it was pretty interesting. Entrance was seamless, and was able to use a private car which made it even more fun. The most experience that capped it was the beautiful sunset. So beautiful!!!

It took 3-4 hrs to see the national park and animal orphanage. A wild animal habitat next to the modernized Nairobi. We couldn't see lions, but other animals were easy to spotted. Great place to visit next to the city and so relaxing and appreciate the nature.

A must visit the only city with a national park in the world. Easily accessible in Nairobi and you can use your own car (but you'll easily get lost without a guide or get stuck) or get one at the park that comes with a guide (which is cheaper than Tour companies). I recommend going in the morning or evening when the animals are out and about. But either way you'll have a great experience. Carry some snacks and water as it's quite a few hours of safari. Would do it again. ❤ Nairobi.

I just love the fact that it is right in the city!!! So you can just take a cab and go. You see the animals very close. Even though the park is huge you have 99% chance to see them all! What more to ask!!! Really a must visit if you are in Nairobi.

The only national park in the middle of a city!! It was so amazing seeing quite a number of animals even the rare species like Cheetah, ostriches, rhinos, gazelles those that you do not see very often in just one hour. Very easy to drive though on a rainy season you need a four wheel for it kinda gets slippery. Had such an amazing time there with friends. Lions are so close up for good photography. Quite herds of antelopes and giraffes not forgetting the beautiful scenery of the city from a far.🥰

Nairobi National Park is the only wild animal park in the whole world to be found within a city. Other than that record the place is a scenery and a wonderful place to visit with friends and family. Great Services are offered and you'll always have an urge to visit again.

Very interesting experience getting closer to nature. I will advise you go early in the morning before noon or go later in the afternoon when the sun is about setting. The animals generally try to apparently hibernate in the afternoon. The park is so large that you could spend up to 3 hours driving round to spot the big 5s. Get a good tour guide. The entrance fees are priced reasonably

Beautiful park right near the heart of the city. If possible, I recommend going early in the morning ~6:30 to see the sunrise. Additionally, a car with a decent clearance will help. The rates for residents and citizens are a steal at 400 ksh. I've seen lions, hippos, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, and all sorts of birds. Still hoping to see a cheetah and leapord next time!

Nairobi national park left a lasting impression with its diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. The vast savannahs showcased the beauty of nature, and observing iconic animals like lions, rhinos and giraffes in their natural habitat was a truly awe-inspiring experience. The park's commitment to conservation and responsible tourism added to the overall positive visit, making it a memorable destination for nature enthusiasts.

The good thing about that it is located in the center so you don't need to drive miles away to see some animals specially if you dont have enough time and they have many animals in side the park.....my recommendation is to be patient and don't make the drive rush you to exit and keep finding and tracking the animal..enjoy :)

Nairobi National Park is a unique gem, offering an unparalleled wildlife experience just beyond the city's skyline. The juxtaposition of urban and wild is both surreal and spectacular. With a stunning array of animals against the backdrop of Nairobi's skyline, it's a photographer's paradise. The convenience of proximity makes it an accessible safari destination, making Nairobi National Park an absolute must-visit for wildlife enthusiasts and city dwellers alike.

Nairobi National Park is an amazing place to visit with your friends or family. You can also do solo travel and its just amazing. I've travelled this park 3 times and I never get bored. The park is big and the great thing about it is that, you can see 4 of the big 5 animals which are lion. leopard. buffalo and rhino. The only missing big five animal is the elephant. The best time to visit the park is very early in the morning. The leopard is not easy to find but on a lucky day you might see it on the trees staring at you. The park is surrounded with picnic sites where you can carry food or snacks and visit one of the sites after the adventurous drive. The best means of transport is a land cruiser. The tour vans can work but they will struggle with the rough terrain and ditches around the park. I always see, some people driving around with their sedan cars which is a waste of time and resources. I prefer a land cruiser for they are also fitted with radio where different tour guides communicate giving out intel of where some of the animals are.

If you have a bit of time to spare, visit this park! The number of animals you can see here is astonishing considering how close it is to the city. We took a half day tour and found all of the animals we were hoping to see. Lions, black and white rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, zebras, impala, eland, masai giraffe and much more. I also counted over 50 different species of birds including white-backed vulture and secretary bird. Two species I hoped to see.

Cannot recommend enough. It's incredible to discover such a large and well-kept park inside a big city. Over the course of one day we encountered a lion, several grey and black rhinos, countless zebras, impalas and elands, ostriches and many bird species. Make sure to book a good safari guide!

Had an interesting experience here, although I didn't see all the big five, it was still lovely to see the zebras, giraffes and antelopes. I advise tourists to do proper research online as regards tour guide services, on-site tour guides are a bit pricey.

Very good experience. A national park within a city is wonderful. Its natural and found many animals. Lion was not there that day, but well it wasn't a lion day may be... Entry ticket for non resident is little higher but well not very expensive. They charged us 35$ and 1400kes for car.

It’s definitely an amazing activity to do when in Nairobi . Although in my opinion or my expectation , I wanted to see more variety of animals . We saw one lion only and it was sleeping through out the game drive . But we saw plenty of antelopes , giraffes , buffalo , rhino , hippos , crocodiles, ostrich . I literally do this every year I am in Nairobi .

I visited the national park last Sunday using my 11-hour lay over in Nairobi quite well😄. It was exciting doing the almost 3 hour safari tour in the park. I had the opportunity of seeing the Rhinos, buffalos, lions, hippos in their natural environment. I think this is an experience of a lifetime which everyone should have. Kudos to my tour guide! He was so nice, polite and professional and jovial. I enjoyed every bit of the tour. Please take advantage of a visit to Kenya to see the place! You will not be disappointed 😁.

A nice experience but despite being out in the “safari” for several hours we did not see very many animals, at least not as many as expected. Be sure to book your ticket online prior to arriving at the park. You cannot pay at the entrance. Cell service is terrible at the park. Even on their WiFi.

I visited both the orphanage and the Safari Walk. Both places are family friendly and accessible to persons with disabilities. The orphanage features an array of animals from lions to wild dogs at a close range. On the other hand, the Safari Walk is more fun as the animals have a slightly larger area to roam about and the design of the walk is great. I would recommend partners to visit the Safari Walk but not during holiday seasons if you want seclusion and a bit of privacy

Lovely family outing plan.. Downside. Limited animals within park. Abit rub down and management isn't keen. Unfortunately,on our visit we got harassed by the rangers,as I forgot to carry my ID,having used one household car and even though I had a copy on phone, emails and documents, they almost ruined our family afternoon. The place is well,ABADONED.. Very few labels remain., not replaced. And income is streaming in

Luckily, I saw a lot of animals. (Some say they haven't seen many animals) It was hard to believe that there was such a large safari-park in the city. I hope the park is well preserved. Before going to Masai Mara, it's a good idea to go to practice take picture.

My family and I visited the Nairobi Safari Walk. We loved it there! I know it can be confusing but here it is simplified 1) Nairobi Orphanage - where you find caged animals with little free space 2) Nairobi Safari Walk- here the animals are still enclosed but they have much more space and it takes a bit of time to spot them. 45 - 60 mins 3) Nairobi National park - hundreds of acres of wildlife. Est. Time taken 2-4 hrs *All the 3 are in the same location * Estimated time is what we took. It is not limited. Closing time is 6pm It's easy to spot the animals, they have a wide variety and the walk is so therapeutic. If you like walks there is an entire bird sanctuary to explore. Great way to spend an afternoon.

Make sure to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and bring a mask if you have aversions to dust. It will get dusty. Only thing here is that you don’t get to go out as much. You’ll be staying in the car/jeep for the duration of the trip. Anyone with a bad back will probably not enjoy it as much. I suggest taking a trip to Hell’s Gate

Nairobi National Park is the only protected area in the world close to a capital city offering a perfect destination to view the wild animals while in the city. The park which is situated only seven kilometers from Nairobi city centre offers a distinctive ecosystem. Major wildlife attractions are the lion, Black rhino, hyena, leopard, cheetah, Giraffe, wildebeest, buffaloes, elands, zebra, and over 400 species which have been recorded here. Other attractions include the Ivory burning site Monument, the Animal Orphanage, Nairobi Safari Walk, and other walking trails at hippo pools. The size of the park is 117 Km2.

Nairobi National Park - Amazing national park located in the south of Nairobi, Kenya. It’s unbelievable that the wildlife can migrate between the park and adjacent plains. It’s was really wonderful watching the animals especially the king of forest "Lion" during the early morning hours and when the climate was drizzling. The guide was very much co-operative. It's a highly recommended place for tourist.

An excellent place to visit with family and friend after a busy week. Here, you are able to see wild animals (lions, rhinos, buffalos, herd beasts among others) in their natural habitat. The Nairobi city is visible in the horizon from the national park. It’s desirable due to its close proximity to Nairobi city, accessibility and all weather park roads.

So many gazelles, antelopes and alas, as many rhinos seen in the park as never before. Several families, most in pairs and a few in 5s were seen engaging in small territorial fights. But generally friendly after a sip of water at the dam. A couple of families took brief naps. Two lionesses seen with a sick baby lion. Many giraffes in different shades too. Good old warthogs grazing with respect to the grass on the ground as usual

It is surreal to think this is basically in the middle of the city, you really can see and find almost all the animals you can dream to see in a safari here. It being so close to the city kills a bit that feeling of adventure and nature but it is still worth it.

A national park just outskirts of the capital city of Kenya. The park hosts a wide ranges of wild animals in their wild. Some of the city buildings are clearly visible from the park. An elevated railway line passed through the park. If you are lucky, you can spot 4 out of 5 big five animals of Kenya here. I was able to find all of them except leopard. Black Rhino is a special attraction of this park. Safari cars are widely available for hire with driver. A 4-5 hours long tour from the city cost around USD 120 for car and driver. You will need to pay entry fee separately. Normally the trip starts very early in the morning, like around 4 am. As the day breaks out the animals hide into the bushes, specially lions. Other timeslot is in the late afternoon. Overall a very nice experience to visit the safari, specially if you don’t have enough time to go to some other exotic parks in Kenya which are quite far from the capital.

It is best to visit this place ONLY IF you are in Kenya for few days. Because this is a small park and has less number of animals compared to other national parks obviously. First timers will like this place. But if you really want to see the wildlife, go to Masai Mara and other national parks. That is the better experience for 300$. Nairobi national park for 100$ for few hours of game drive is not really worth it.

Nice park. Animals. All that. Regrettably the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) failed to honor published park entry rates for our group. On their own website, rate for nonresidents is $35/adult. We were surprised when they tried running our cards for $43. We were told rate had gone up. Why is this not reflected in advertised rates on website? Why was there no notice of January 1 rate increases in advance of January 1? That is basic business protocol. We presented website rates at ticket office and requested published rates be honored. We were shown an internal document stating 23% rate hike. Tourists are not privy to KWS internal documents. We escalated to manager who likewise refused to honor published rates. In my country, this is called fraud. Our group paid higher rate. However KWS unprofessionalism was not the first impression with Kenyan parks we’d hoped for. We felt scammed. It’s fine to increase rates. However if tourists base decisions on entry fees advertised by the government then show up and get charged a different amount, that makes for a poor experience. Our grievance has been been filed officially such that accurate rates might be reflected online. I wonder how many other surprises we’ll encounter should we continue exploring Kenya’s parks. I am far less enthusiastic now than yesterday. VISITED: 2 January 2022; $43 USD/adult; credit cards accepted

Best Destination In Magical Kenya for a Safari while in the Capital Nairobi. You get to spot the 🦁🦁 Lion's, Black & White Rhinos, Buffaloes and the Elusive Leopard if your very lucky. There are no Elephants at the main park but you can spot the Baby Elephants at the Shedrick Wildlife Trust between 11-12 Noon ensuring you spot the Big 5. There are more animals still to spot while at the park Accommodation is available at Nairobi Tented and other lodges by the border of the park. Great Place for Weddings and event's at the Picnic Spots it at the Club House.

I don’t expect the park should have high ratings for the following items: 1. You don’t get the right guidance for the timing neither what you should expect, a small flyer about the park with a map could help all of us 2. Diversify of animal it is not exist and even it is a wild they should take care of such animal where I have not seen that 3. I am not sure what are the safety and security measures taken but I can say non 4. Cost vs value doesn’t make any sense I would rather drinking mango 5. Pricing based on your nationality some how it is good but now always an indicator for affordable tourism Definitely it is a nice idea to have such park in the middle of the city where you can see some towers during the trip but this park could be much better in term of procedures and processes

Fantastic national safai park in the middle of the city! Amazing place to see wild animals in their natural habitat. We experienced giraffes, lion, lioness, Cubs, zebras, rhinos, gazelles, buffalos warthogs and array of birds. There is also a few picnic spots to enjoy lunch or snacks before or after your safari drive. Would suggest bringing sanitiser and toilet roll handy in your bag/car as the toilets aren't in the best of conditions unfortunately so come prepared to either hold it or bear the stench!

I visited this park in September, 2915. I still have a lot of pictures. Just wanted to share with you guys. This safari is about 100+ square kilometers. Tremendous amount of wild live. Need to spend a whole day there. Make sure your car/truck does not breakdown inside the park. It is scary to have that thought cross your mind. Definitely recommended.

Nairobi National Park was an amazing and adventurous experience! The close proximity to the city allows for a unique blend of wildlife and urban landscapes. Seeing lions, giraffes, and zebras against the backdrop of Nairobi's skyline was truly breathtaking. The game drive was filled with thrilling moments, and the park's conservation efforts are commendable. A must-visit for any nature enthusiast!

Absolutely worth doing!!! We had an experienced driver who took us to nice spots and explained the things around. We did a half day tour and for me it’s enough, to be honest. Mostly you drive around the bumpy roads and stop for a while to a lot the animals > that’s what it’s called game drive. ATTENTION, in general, the tickets are not included in the tour. When arriving the main entrance (east gate), you need to buy the ticket online. Therefore, you have to register on https://kws.ecitizen.go.ke/ KWS-eCitizien and set up a profile (tourist). After that you also have to upload a passport picture and type in your passport details. Once you signed up, you’re able to make an online payment thru their website. If you’re unable to do so, one of your mates shall do the transaction for you and you pass over the money to him/her. It’s tricky, but it’s not possible to buy the ticket at the counter. Please coordinate with your tour guide. Good luck and enjoy it 👍

Really sad to rather see some kind of construction site than a national park. The railway straight through the park is visible from almost every location there. The sound of airplanes from the near two airports is more present than animals. I assume this is by far the worst park in Kenia. I feel really sorry for the animals trapped in there.

We went to the animal orphanage part of the Nairobi National Park and we saw all kinds of animals, from lions to cheetahs, hyenna, water buffalo, monkeys, civets, mongoose, guinea fowls. It's a great attraction for tourists and seems to attract a lot of children too. Different entry rates for nationals and foreigners. Didn't get to see the actual national park though. There's also a gift shop with loads of souvenirs and a small group of Masai tribes men who will clothe and dance with you for a small tip. Lovely experience

A good option if you want a half-day safari. We started very early in the morning and it was best, as we could experience a serene sunrise and see many animals and birds: rhino, hippo, lion, ostrich, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, crocodile, the secretary bird, kori bustard, Guineafowls, vulture, heron, flycatcher, and so many beautiful antelopes (including wildebeest, impala and Thompson’s gazelle) and more water and predatory birds. On the other side it was heartbreaking to see how the train track crosses the park, as well as how so many noisy airplanes disturb the animals and their ecosystem.

In addition, the Itigi thicket is a vegetation type particular to areas around Lake Tanganyika. Some of the isolated beaches along the Lake are stunning and only accessible from the Lake. A great place for the adventurous.

A park meglepően jó volt, nagyon sokféle állatot látni, az oroszlánok és az orrszarvúk nagyon közel jönnek az autókhoz. Covid idején is nyitva!

I made a one day game drive in Nairobi National Park with my guide Peter (from Abupet safaris). It was a great safari, allowing us to see: - predators, including two groups of lions (males, females and cubs), spotted hyenas, black-backed jackals - other mammals, e.g.: zebras, giraffes, buffalos, gazelles, Cape elands, waterbucks, bushbucks, hartebeests, warthogs… - many birds: the park is the habitat of 400 bird species Taken together, I highly recommend to visit Nairobi National Park

What wonder's of creation! All praise to the most high. Isa 42:5 "This is what the [true] God, Jehovah, has said, the Creator of the heavens and the Grand One stretching them out; the One laying out the earth and its produce, the One giving breath to the people on it, and spirit to those walking in it"

Definitely worth a visit if you have a short time to spare in Nairobi, the tour takes about 5 hours. Entry fee is USD 60, (plus you would have booked a guide for another USD 60). The park is very nice and close the city, it’s better to go in the morning to see the animals because they rest during noontime. We were fortunate to see Lions, lionesses, lion cubs, zebras, giraffes, rhinos, antelopes, hippos, buffaloes, and many gazelles and ostriches! Highly recommended.

It was perfect day to go to the park. We then let them half an hour, we came across an old lion resting by the roadside and a lioness sleeping in the middle of the road. A little further down was a herd of zebras and buffaloes, giraffes, and rhino. I had a perfect day.

Being here was a magical experience. The animals were so close to you. The environment was beautiful even during dry season (feb), but we saw almost all kinds of animals-even a lion! It was tears of joy throughout this experience and we used Kenya Bush Expeditions as our tour company. Being here at this national park shows you how harmonious animals and humans can truly be. Even if you just have a layover like we did, please do NOT deprive yourself of a safari experience. We had 4hrs inside the park and we truly saw these awesome animals of Africa.

Nairobi National Park is located just a short drive from Nairobi's city center. Despite its small size, the variety of wildlife in the park is surprisingly big, with lions, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, and many species of antelopes. The park's location make it a fantastic destination for anyone seeking an authentic African wildlife experience, without the necessity to drive outside of Nairobi.

It's always amazing to visit the Nairobi National Park, though it's my fourth visit, I always feel like visiting for the first time. This time arround citing the big cat with their kill was a great experience.

Beautiful place for game drive, saw different wild games my favourite being the giraffe but seeing the Lion pride was the show stopper 😊

It was so wonderful as it was my first time on a safari in the wildlife. Seeing those animals live was definitely an experience. However, I feel visitors should be informed about the best timing. We didn't see a lot of animals because it was afternoon and most of them had gone to rest away from the sun and heat. Apparently the best time to visit is early in the morning and in the evenings. I managed to learn a couple of things about the lifestyle of lions, zebras, and rhinos. It was really fascinating. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd like to visit again to see more animals in their natural habitat.

Nairobi National Park is one of a kind for it is the only National Park in the middle of a city. With the right tour guide you can get a unique experience reaching to hidden spots within the park, and animals get real upclose for good photography. Had such an amazing time..I definitely recommend it for both resident and nonresident citizens
