The grounds are lovely. Situated right on the lake, you can enjoy the sparkling blue water while zebras graze freely and monkeys frolic. The captive animals are quite stunning as well and easy to spot. My only criticism is that while most of the habitats were spacious and enhanced with trees and such, some seemed a bit small and lacked shade or greenery.

Beautiful place... I have seen the zebra and giraffe very close and the park is well maintained. It has very good area and it is all well directed with necessary sign boards and staff. No one will find it difficult to make a visit all the areas. Worth visiting.

It's a quiet, calm place to walk around. They have allowed the zebras to roam freely. Amongst the caged animals are, ostrich, Warthog, lions, leopard, monkeys, baboons and many more. The entrance fee is 250 per head for adults. You can also have a boat ride at the park.

Awesome place for a nature walk. A few caged animals with a history but not so much. Atleast the king of the jungle rules there. You can get a boat ride into the lake. Affordable rates. It's ok for a picnic but you may have to share it with the monkeys. It's not a big place to run wild but the air is awesome. Do not carry plastic bottles... We are keeping the place clean. Do NOT feed the animals. Oh.. plenty of hyacinths. Overall.. it's an awesome place for you and your family especially the children to learn a thing or two about animals.

For nature lovers, this is the ideal place in Kisumu to get away from the hustle bustle of the City and get to relax and soak yourself in the quietness of this green environment just by the lake. While taking a nature walk, you'll get to meet the zebras and sitatunga antelopes that are roaming freely in the sanctuary. There are a few animals kept; lions, warthog, ostrich, hyena, leopard etc. There's also an option of boat riding that ranges from around 15USD to 150USD depending on the time and distance of the ride. A picnic and campsite is also available but do not forget your mosquito repellents if you choose to camp. Catch the best sunset views at Impala Sanctuary.

This is a national park, conserving almost all of the big five animals in Kenya, I think they only lack the elephant. It is under the management of the Kenya wildlife service and they are well trained personnel who handle all matters wildlife. I always feel safe around the premise due to the friendly personnel who work hand in hand to help anyone. I've been to the place around 10 different times because of the serenity of the nature there, some animals like the monkeys, impalas and zebras are just free so you get to walk alongside them while the most fierce ones are caged. The experience is just intriguing.

Great place to see some of our wildlife in captivity. It's a bit expansive. Walking around the sanctuary took me about 1-1/2 hours so come prepared with water and a snack. It borders the lake so at most points you can see the lake. It has around 4 picnic sites with wooden benches to sit and enjoy a meal. You can also get boat rides onto the lake. There is also a railway line trail but I didn't go down the trail....

This is a must visit for all. The fact that you can enjoy a stroll right next to a zebra was mind blowing to us. The guides are very knowledgeable of the species they are safe guarding. Their park fees are fair for both residents and non residents.

This is a perfect place about wild animals outside the national parks. Lists of school from.the western region visit here and there are very informative tour guides to help you along at a small fee. For folks who may have been to the animal orphanage in Nairobi, it might be on the smaller side. For a time.out with young ones though, it doesn't get 9ld seeing wild animals.

Situated in the upmarket Milimani Estate, bordering Kisumu’s State Lodge, Kisumu Impala Sanctuary is a favourite for many visitors. It is owned and managed by Kenya Wildlife Service. The entrance fee is pocket friendly to both individuals and groups. The park has free roaming impalas and hippos. There are also lions, hyenas, ostriches, cheetah among others in confined areas. You can decide to take a meal at Eco Lodge strategically located inside the park but you must to part with many thousands.

It is amazing place located at the farthest end of jomo Kenyatta sports ground in kisumu,,next to it is the little park children do skating. There are various hotels with most delicious fish , ugali and local vegetables. Most of tourists who do kisumu city tour never misses this place as it is a unique spot within the city,,actually a pond in a city. It provides very beautiful scenery for photo taking and hangouts. N/B There is a large notice sign of NO SWIMMING.

Nice place to interact with impalas, zebras, monkeys, giraffe and many others, it's better than most zoos since some animals are free to roam and caged ones have a more natural habitat

The place is run down and barely maintained plus there weren't all the animals that we we told at the entry point. KWS should try to maintain the park and also shorten the payment procedure as you are told to login to ecitzen portal in order to make entry payment

Felt delightful as you walk through the woods. The scenery is great and the juices were natural and tasty😋 There are animals such as impalas, giraffes, lions, zebras and ostriches. However, I didn't see any elephants.

It is located approximately 3 kilometres from Kisumu CBD. It is a beautiful sanctuary that hosts impalas, vervet monkeys, the rare sitatunga antelope, buffalos, giraffes, cheetahs, zebras and other primates. It is also home to five campsites with spectacular views of Lake Victoria, the world’s second largest freshwater lake. The sanctuary is a perfect spot for birdwatching, nature walks, boat rides and hiking activities.

The small park allows also young visitors to experience Kenyan famous Lion, Leopard and Buffalo. A boat tour, not included in the entrance fee takes you to the close hippo place. The park is clean and invites for picnic or hanging out to relax and enjoying sounds of various birds in the trees.

I wanted my family to see the giraffe, only to find that the species no longer exists. Otherwise, we enjoyed seeing other animals such as the monkeys, buffalo, lions, zebras

This place is well kept though not as big as other animal parks, the tour guide was great and took us around while explaining and elaborating everything well i can say he really knows his way around the animals so well, a nice place to take your family

It's more a small zoo than a sanctuary. It has a nice situation at the lake. The hippos you can hear at night coming out and earn some fresh grass. It could be a nice stay, at the entrance you get shocked: for foreigners, the fee it's overprized. Half of it, and it would be okay. So, you get the feeling, got in a tourist trap.

There were additional animals from my last visit visit in 2016. The place is still scenic and lovely. The trails are still great. However, there was a platform that was now inaccessible/ dilapidated since. The impala lodge was also closed for renovation due to high tides. Pollution (resulting from visitors interference) like throwing yogurt cups and plates into the environment is also an issue. The management can start barring visitors from coming in with plastic bottles/ cups/ plates....

The park was great and worth the visit but honestly it's really racist they charge tourists 22 dollars and it does not include a tour guide. Locals pay only 200 schillings. In Europe everyone pays the same entrance otherwise the racism debate would immediately start.
