If you are visiting Zanzibar, Beit-el-Sahel or Palace museum is a Must to visit which will take you through the time travel. Zanzibar authorities preserved the place very nicely. The terrace overlooking the sea is simply refreshing and shall make you melancholy.

It's an amazing place! In the morning, you'll probably get a chilly and misty weather, so pack a polar or a sweater. The tropical forest is beautiful, though, especially with all the mist and fog. Once you go down the caldeira, it gets warmer and sunnier, and the landscape is just wonderful. You'll see lots of animals (including the black rhino, if you're lucky), and the picnic that everyone seems to do by the lake is also very pleasant (lots of little colourful birds to photograph here!). It was really nice!

Another place people should see. It's full of wildlife and very beautiful. Have a good guide with you and it's an adventure one will never forget. Also LISTEN to your guide when they tell you don't get too close to the animals. It their territory. It's dangerous. Play it safe and just enjoy the animals from a distance. Wear safari color clothes too. I've seen others ignore this instruction. You don't want attention so wear the proper color attire. Also pack a sweater or thermals. It gets chilly in the mornings and evenings.

One of the most fascinating National Parks I have experienced. Just the thought that you are just ON a volcanic crater, impressive! We saw a mass of animals in such a small space, so close to the car. The landscape is amazing. We were in the park in April before the main season. Since the park is limited by the crater, there can be a high crowd of other guests. We noticed it especially at the picnic areas, it was very crowded - and that before the season. I don't want to know what it's like during peak season. Nevertheless, the park is worth it. One day was enough (for me) though.

Ngorogoro was one of several national parks we visited, and it was one of the best. More wildlife than I ever expected including lots elephants, lions, giraffes, hippos, warthogs, various ungulates, flamingos, etc. We also got to see a black rhino, though it was off in the distance.

Only thing not to love are the birds trying to steal your lunch nd the numerous safari vehicles. But is a reason they are there. Safari top notch and spectacular views.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Named after the Ngorongoro Crater which is the other crown jewel of Tanzania. Voted as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. The Ngorongoro volcano was active from about 2.45 to 2 million years ago. It is now home to approximately 25,000 animals including Hippotamus, Black Rhinoceros. The area is also home to leopards, cheetahs and spotted hyenas, all of which are a rare sight. Rounding up my experience in the Safari, I have seen 4 of the big 5 and 4 out of the 5 ugliest. My highlights here were the close distance from our lunch spot to the Hippotamus and a super zoom just to spot the Black Rhinoceros. The crossing of the wildebeest across the different plains and a lovely couple walk between Simba (Lion) and Nala (Lioness). Definitely a fruitful and rewarding experience to wake up at 6am and head for our game drive.

The Ngorongoro conservation area was one of the biggest highlights of our African safari. Our guides told us it has the highest permanent concentration of animals in the world, and you can definitely tell. From lions, to elephants, to zebras and hippos, you can see it all here. I will definitely be back to the crater (caldera) and will not stop telling my friends and family about the experiences I had here for years to come.

This UNESCO site sure lived up to its lofty expectations as a haven for wildlife. The world’s largest intact caldera teems with wildebeest, zebras, jackals, hyenas, lions and black rhinos. Come early to experience the morning light. The gates open at 6 am!

This volcanic crater is full of life and is just absolutely breathtaking. We got a chance to witness the big 5 (except for Rhinos). The drive here was beautiful as it took us up and around the crater ,you will go back in time as you witness what has happened here 2.5 million years ago . One can only say Subhanallah to such beauty, highly recommended. We came to Ngorongoro days after reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro with our guides whom partnered up with Lengasani Africa for our safari tour (sharing for informative purposes,non-promotional). Our guides offered an exceptional service and are very knowledgeable with this national park. Highly recommend adding Ngorongoro crater to your bucket list 👌 👍.For more information on the guide we used ,check them out on Instagram 📸@LengasaniAfrica Photo credit 📸 IG @Buddha.Ventura Follow my personal IG 📸 @Abdulyo313

A wonderful experience of the depths of nature. The best thing is that it is natural and there is no trace of human interference with it. Camping can be tried, and the hotel, which is equipped with clean energy, can also be used. We succeeded in the trip and were able to find most of the animals and take close-up photos of them.Worth the one time experience and it will remain an everlasting memory.

Absolutely amazing. The surroundings alone will take your breath away. I visited the Conservation area as part of a Safari Package we spent half a day in the park. You have a good chance of seeing the big five. In our case we missed the black Rhino but see the rest of the big five and other animals was absolutely amazing. I would recommend a two day two for the crater to get the best of it. I went with Suricata travels and Safari Soles Travel from Arusha.

An absolutely mind blowing location, it almost doesn't even seem real, it's like you're on a movie set of the next Lion King. The best way to describe the Ngorongoro crater is a melting pot of biodiversity with so many animals in close proximity to each other. It looks as though every animal is living in harmony with each other. If you're visiting the Serengeti, you should definitely go to the crater as well. It's amazing!

(Translated by Google) # Nongorongoro in Tanzania (conservation area of East Africa) ?️??? The Ngorongoro Conservation Area covers a wide range of highland plains, savanna, savannah forests and forests. Established as a multi-land use area in 1959, with wildlife coexistence with semi-nomadic Masai ministers in traditional livestock pastures, it includes the scenic Ngorongoro crater, the world's largest caldera. The region is of global importance for biodiversity conservation due to the presence of globally endangered species and the annual migration of wildlife, zebra, gazelles and other animals into the northern plains. Extensive archaeological research has provided a long line of evidence on human evolution and human-environment dynamics. Ngorongoro Conservation Area (809,440 hectares) covers a wide range of highland plains, savanna, savannah forests and forests from the plains of the Serengeti National Park in the northwest to the eastern arm of the Great Rift Valley. The area was established as a multi-land use area in 1959 with wildlife coexistence with semi-nomadic Maasai ministers who work in traditional livestock pastures. It includes the spectacular Engorongo crater, the world's largest caldera, and the 14-kilometer-deep valley of Alduai Gorge. The globally endangered black rhino lives in and around the Ngorongoro crater. Due to the annual migration of wildlife, this area is of global importance for biodiversity conservation. This is a very interesting stop for those who are history buffs, others may be a little bored by it. This is the original palace of the sultans completed in 1832 and was home to all of them, their concubines and family until the 12th sultan fled to the UK in the Zanzibar Revolution. It has period pieces and some copies on display of trade pacts, armaments, cars, furniture (most of the display is furniture) from the sultans. A few of the stops along the way have beautiful views of the ocean. Worth a look.

Nature at its best. The view over the crater from above is truly spectacular. Full of animals, plenty of action. Prepare yourself for long drives over very bumpy roads. It is worth it though. Many animals including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, gazelles, etc can be found here. The scenery is tropical with lush at some points. There is also a large lake where you can see hippos and flamingos.

We took part in a pre-booked safari to the Ngorongoro conservation area to visit the largest caldera in the world and enjoy the local wildlife. From the entrance gate to the crater floor is about one hour traversing rough, dirt roads which makes for a dirty and tiring day. The area is teeming with small game such as wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, warthogs, water buffaloes and many varieties of birds. We did see quite a few hippos, one rhino and two lionesses. The road too and from the crater foot provide the opportunity to view many elephants and some giraffes.

Because of its geography, you'll find it the easiest park to find the most diverse group of animals of most parks. You can basically see most of them in a single day. Didn't take but a few pictures since we had seen mostly everything in the Serengeti area. Can be chilly at times. Area is also very beautiful in many directions.

Wow! The Garden of Eden and Africa’s largest Caldera! Don’t miss it if you are in the area! Elephants, rhinos, warthogs, Cape buffalo, wildebeests, springboks, zebra, flamingos, pelicans, lots of other birds. Steep and winding road in and out. I’m glad I had an experienced and responsible driver and my safari vehicle all to myself! No hippos or giraffes. Absolutely fantastic. Don’t miss. Don’t worry about getting down too early — we left around 8 and worked out fine. Since most safari days start early, take advantage.

it's like a paradise for animals, in a semi enclosed area, the mountain is beautiful with clouds surrounded, we spotted a rhino here, the only one during our visit to Tanzania.

A spectacular and unique example of nature that should be on everyone's bucket list. I highly recommend splurging on accommodations, so that you can experience the crater in the early morning as the sun's light breaks through the overnight clouds to bring light to the crater floor. We stayed at the Serena, which was a lovely and very memorable experience.

(Translated by Google) Vast crater of an ancient volcano that has become the habitat of almost all the animal species present in Africa. To visit for sure: perhaps the most well-known attraction of Tanzania deservedly and the safaris are well organized given the great experience linked to the number of visitors every year and the richness of the fauna. Impossible to be disappointed: those images are indelibly printed in the mind. Generally after the safari you go (so to speak) to rest on the white beaches of Zanzibar or Malindi. But it's another matter entirely.

(Translated by Google) It is just a zoo where animals are released. The enjoyment of safari diminishes. The giraffe could not be loaded because it was difficult to ship. The Tanzanian side of Sappani says it obeys the rules, and cars only travel by road, so animals in the grasslands are rarely seen. Lions lie down all day and hyenas are burrowing and hiding in the ground. However, it is good to refer to the Maasai Mara side of Kenya, as the guides drive to the front of the animals.

The Sultan's Palace called in Arabic as Bait As-Sahel is one of the main historical buildings of Stone Town, Zanzibar, Tanzania. The palace was built in late 19th century to serve as a residence for the Sultan's family. After the Zanzibar Revolution, in 1964 it was formally renamed to People's Palace and used as a government seat. In 1994, it became a museum about the Zanzibar royal family and history.

This historic monument lacks the preservation and conservation such a place should have. Fabrics are exposed to the elements, the furniture is run down and a shadow of what a Sultan's Palace really looked like. No effort or funds are invested in this property and in a few years, nothing will be left. Very sad. Contains loads of pictures and furniture and some old cars which tell their own stories. One of the things Stone Town is known for and the story of the Princess who married a German is interesting

What an amazing place to visit, the view from above is breath taking, and the animal concentration . My only negative is the sheer number of people sometimes 5 plus jeeps all lined up near one animal. Despite the crowds it is an experience never to forget

Just writing to express our great appreciation of the fabulous team at Bantu Pori Journeys for their outstanding safari support during these crazy Covid challenging times. It has always been a dream of ours to visit Africa and do a once-in-a-lifetime safari so about a year ago our group of 4 couples embarked on a mission to find the absolute best, most reputable safari company to travel with. After doing tons of research, we choose Bantu Pori Journeys to plan our trip to Africa in February of 2020. We plotted & planned every safari detail with Bantu Pori Journeys for our Migration safari. With the pandemic raging our first fantastic safari was postponed to February 2021. We couldn't have asked for any better resolution to our situation and we'd also like to send a huge shout-out to our travel planner Baraka, who has endured our seemingly endless emails back and forth during the planning of our trip and through the duration of the Covid situation. Throughout they have been so supportive, positive, completely compassionate, professional, and willing to work with us, giving us incredible confidence. Our 7 day and 6 nights migration safari was well organized, our driver guide Kante was excellent. The parks were unforgettable. Day one: Tarangire National Park Day two to Four: Serengeti National Park (Ndutu and central area) with a balloon ride Day five: Serengeti National park to Ngorongoro lodge Day six: Ngorongoro crater Day seven: Lake Manyara National Park with bridge walk All in all a really personal experience that you wouldn’t receive with a bigger company. For those looking for a good agency to make their safari dream come true, I really recommend this one !! See you next time for sure !! :-)

A surprised gate at what you see as a highway on map. Asphalt road end and it's all gravel ones. Nature starts right away. The amazing road takes you from rainforest to NguruNguru. Then landscape change to more hills and open savana all the way down to Serengeti. And wild life is all the way. We could see Zebra and Wildbeast from the car and until the end of view. And the candy is Serengeti. All the stories came true. Don't miss the small ones like birds, small mammal etc. Jiraffes, elephants, Zebra, Wildbeast, lions, lapperd, Chita, gazzle. Nature in motion. Recommended!

Very well Managed facility. Beautifully Manicured and with eateries to take care of the visitors. Great place to take your Kids. For the Grownups, the Zip line and Boat rides comes in Handy.

  • 3/5 Kevin Ian M. 3 years ago on Google
It is a neat place and I had wanted to see it for myself following the rave reviews. The trees, grass and paved walkways are unlike Machakos and its "dry" tag. There is even a man made pond/dam/water feature though, it is slowly drying up. There is a Zipline for those who want the thrill, a bouncing castle for the young kids as well as a maze for older kids. A restaurant and a bar are also included herein. Overall it was a good idea though, its location from the town could be a hindrance to some.

It's located in Machakos county next to new governor office. Has got expansive compound, ample parking and a serene environment. It's good for family outing over the weekend. The park has got much to over from bicycle ride, horse riding, camel riding, archery etc. The climate here is generally cool

  • 5/5 Dennis M. 3 years ago on Google
The large space and cool environment makes it the best for walking and taking pictures. Children and adults would enjoy this place so much

  • 3/5 Brian M. 3 years ago on Google
The park is a great recreational space. With ample space and lush gardens, the People's park is a good place to unwind. It has an artificial lake which is a good place for boat rides. There are enough amenities such as loos, restaurants and an upcoming conference centre. The grounds could also host events. If well managed, it could be a money maker for Machakos County.

Truly breathtaking conservation park this time of year... we saw such an incredible abundance of wildlife. Plenty of zebra, lions, wildebeest, hippos, ostriches, warthogs, cape buffalo, gazelle, impala, etc. all mingling in the vast green crater. Loved it!
