An amazing park with a lot of elephants, zebras, … It was a lucky to see lions lying in the Tangagire river. You are not allowed to get out of the car so just stop and have lunch right next to zebras, better than at picnic site.

Amazing park filled with a tremendous amount of biodiversity. We felt lucky to see so many animals throughout the day, and despite a light rain shower in the mid afternoon, the game drive was still perfectly enjoyable. Bonus points for the clean bathrooms at the park entrance with soap and toilet paper.

Fabulous wildlife viewing everywhere we went. And the Tarangire Lodge was THE BEST! Elephants were in camp at the water hole in the morning followed by zebras, warthogs, deer and others.

Tarangire National Park, Tanzania. There's a marked difference between the safari operators in Kenya and Tanzania. In Kenya they are punctual and give full time to the tourist while in Tanzania they are less professional as regards managing the tourist time. Starting from Arusha, some 140 km away where they pick you up from the hotel, it takes about four hours to enter the park. Worse, your game drive in Tarangire will only last close to four hours. That day we entered the gate at 1230 hr and exited at 1620 hr. We could have had two more hours of game drive if the operator had managed it better. However, that's how they do it. The good thing is that in Tanzania they have only the Land Cruiser jeeps, no vans. Though all the big five were nowhere to be sighted, I enjoyed photographing some eagles like the Martial Eagle and the Serpent Eagle. There are probably no Rhinos in the park. Cheetahs and leopards are hardly seen in the park. Overall, it was not a good experience. Maybe if some lucky travellers find a professional operator, their experience could be worth writing home about.

Do you want to see Elephants? This is the park to visit. We saw many elephants. Probably well over 100 in the two days we were there. We saw two different lion families and numerous other animals. Obviously, being animal park what you see and experience will be different from anyone else but it's an amazing park.

At the beginning I thought that Serengueti was the only safari that worth’s. But after read and watch some videos made my decision and preferred Taranguire. Amazing national park, you will see animals everywhere and if your driver or guide is good, he will stop when you want. We saw Zebras, elephants, giraffes, pumbas, impalas, cheetah, monkeys, ñu, buffalo, amazing birds and eagles. Takes two hours from Arusha to the park, starting at 7:30 am arrive the park at 10 am and finishing at 16:30 aprox arriving Arusha 18:30. We made a full day because of time, and we chose a private safari car because is comfortable and not to much expensive than the group one. The normal price of a full day in Taranguire is 200 American dollars per person it includes transportation from your hotel to the park, entrance, food (lunch), water and transportation back to your hotel. Tip: take some tanzanian money because on the way to the park you will find some guys of the masai tribe and if you wan to take pictures or buy some local stuff you will need money. Give some tip to your driver/guide because they work a lot and usually they are amazing very kind people, so think about it. Is better if you bring some sunscreen, I thought there would be a lot of mosquitos but no, nothing. Also you can bring your camera or phone charger because the safari cars have plugs to connect. You can’t fly a drone, is forbidden. Bring more water just in case. When the safari starts, the guide opens the roof of the car and gives you binoculars. I totally recommend this safari.

Tarangire National Park. A national park in Tanzania and my first Safari game drive experience! The circle of life was in full bloom for us with our initial encounter of the wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, lion, elephants, warthog, vultures and marabou stock. Yes that kinda cover most of the big 5 and the ugly 5 of the safari. Hope I get to see the rhinoceros and hyenas next.

This is a very nice park, a must in my opinion, to all travelers to Tanzania. You can find most of the big animals here like elephants, giraffes, baboons, zebras, buffaloes etc. When you take a break to eat your meal, watch for the monkeys because you can loose your food.

Tarangire is one of the best Tanzanian National Parks. It is only 2 hours from Arusha City. They have an option of a day tour or 2 days tour. The tour guides are friendly & knowledgeable. The hotels here are nice and clean. Very easy to see all the animals they have. I will surely visit again.

One of the underrated safari parks in Tanzania. We went in April and could see masses of elephants, zebras, wild beasts, and buffalos. We also saw cheetahs, lions, leopards, and jackals. The park is quite big and not as crowded as other parks in Tanzania or Kenya. We were 3 days in the park and have not seen everything. The landscape is so different, so beautiful. There are different places to eat with toilets that are well maintained. You can eat well at the tables, but beware, the monkeys try to get food at every opportunity ;) Tarangire was an absolute highlight of our tour, highly recommended!

Incredible park with active wildlife. We went over Christmas and saw lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, buffalos, a number of different Gazelles, warthog families, monkeys, Baboons and a number of beautiful birds. And lots of majestic baoab trees. As this is the small raining season the park was very green and lush.

(Translated by Google) Tarangire National Park is included in almost all Safari programs. This park is mainly famous for elephants, huge elephant families come very close to cars. Of course, there are also lions and antelopes, and monkeys steal the pre-packaged chicken from the usual box at the designated dining area.

One of the best parks in northern Tanzania. The dry season, July to October, brings large densities of wildlife due to the permanent water of Tarangire River! The rest of the time when it's green, it's beautiful with beautiful landscapes, wildflowers and amazing birding!

Probably the best National Park in TZ to see large number of African elephants. Dense forest and wooded park. The famous African Baobab trees are everywhere in this national park. One can also see Giraffes in large numbers. Also there is Tarangire River inside this park. Definitely worth the safari trip through this national park.

(Translated by Google) A magnificent national park near Kilimanjaro, in Arusha, northern Tanzania, with a small variety of wildlife! You will enjoy the wonderful nature with the unique Bao Ba trees and the unique animals that live freely in the park! Families of elephants, giraffes, gazelles and wild pigs! Orchids and magnificent rare birds complete the animal kingdom of the park! At the entrance we were greeted by the park's "kleftronies", the monkeys !! Several flies made it difficult for us to enjoy the animals moving around! It takes at least 4-5 hours to cross it! Beautiful park with abundance of wild animals: lions, giraffes, cheetahs, elephants, boars, impalas, gnus, zebras, buffalos, you name it! You don't even have to drive further than a couple of miles from the entrance. All the roads are unpaved, so be ready to be shaken a little and for the dust. The park also has a few very nice picnic areas with restrooms.

I couldn't have wished for a better way to start my 3 day safari. The landscape is pretty dry in the park so spotting cats with similar colors as the ground and grass was something for the trained eye but thankfully our guide was very good. I did the tour with Suricatasafaris. Lions, Elephants, Zebra, Wild beasts, wild hogs, bird life, giraffe and loads more. Great place to visit. Quite happy tanzania conserved their wildlife

Best out of 3 $45 parks in Tanzania (of Arusha, manyara, tarangire). For 2 people gonna be $116. Very expensive. Minus one star for that. Seen some wildlife, no Lions. It has tons of zebras. Roads are so-so, when you cross dry river, your non 4wd car stops in sand. But it's better than arusha and manyara. Ask for map when you pay at the gate. They have to give it for free. Drive is easy, along the river. It has plenty of tse tse flies, be careful. I think Kruger is better park, with better roads, maps, signs, phone sightseeing app and cheaper.

(Translated by Google) Immeasurable experience, they say that it is the smallest place to see Baobabs in Tanzania and it is true that there are dozens of them. The experience of seeing a small migration crossing the river is also unique, while lionesses stalk. Great place to get lost wandering around and looking for wildlife in its purest form. (Original) Inconmensurable experiencia, dicen que es el menor sitio para ver Baobabs en Tanzania y es cierto que los hay a decenas. Nice Park Tarangire National Park is a national park in Tanzania's Manyara Region. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. The Tarangire River is the primary source of fresh water for wild animals in the Tarangire Ecosystem during the annual dry season. The Tarangire Ecosystem is defined by the long-distance migration of wildebeest and zebras. During the dry season thousands of animals concentrate in Tarangire National Park from the surrounding wet-season dispersal and calving areas. It covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers (1,100 square miles.) The landscape is composed of granitic ridges, river valley, and swamps. Vegetation is a mix of Acacia woodland, Combretum woodland, seasonally flooded grassland, and baobab trees.

Lovely game drive! Very well organised for game drive passes and even though it can be crowded at the entrance, the park is so vast you really don't mind other safari cars once you start your drive. We saw so many elephants, as well as zebras and giraffes. It's amazing how used they got to safari cars and how close they pass by.

Dirt roads throughout this park make for a bumpy ride to visit the animals, but it is definitely an oasis for elephants and giraffes. They can be spotted everywhere munching on the acacia trees that are spread throughout the landscape or digging for water at the river bed.

Man weiß nie, was man zu sehen bekommt. Die Tiere lassen sich nicht bestellen und das Wetter kann gerade in der Regenzeit schnell umschlagen.

Despite it being one of the small game reserves, the game drive here was awesome. In just a few hours we were able to locate all key animals. Lion, elephant, giraffe, etc. We even attended a lion's 'wedding'. If you are on tight schedule and budget - I would recommend you consider the game ride here. It is just about 2 hours from Arusha city and so you can always catch your next flight or bus out of the city. Please remember this is a seasonal game, check with you tour guide for the best time of the year, for maximum game enjoyment. Cheers!

Tarangire NP is full of beautiful sights from large elephant herds to rivers cutting through the terrain. If you love elephants, this is the place to be as there are supposedly 1.5 elephants per square kilometres! During my visit, I didn't see many big cats nor carnivores, but the herbivores were very prevalent. These include but are not limited to: antelope, elephants, various birds, monkeys, baboons and mongoose.

Tarangire National Park is a national park in Tanzania's Manyara Region.

This park has a huge number of animals to see and a variety of landscapes. We visited after a couple of stormy days so there was a lot of water around but we still managed to see 3 lions, 50+ elephants, 50+ giraffes, hippopotamus, numerous gazelles, antelope, wildebeest, zebra, mongoose etc. The bird life is amazing also. We stayed at Honeyguide Tented Lodge within the park which was an excellent experience. Highly recommended.

Tarangire park is smaller compared with other parks and I felt that it was more touristy place. We were not so lucky at our visit we haven’t seen much. A lot’s of antelopes and zebras, some elephants and giraffes. We have seen pair of young lions on a “date” but we barely see them thru the bushes. We visited with Altezza and everything was well organised. During the lunch time in the picnic area, there are a lot of scavengers monkeys that are trying to steal food from your hands, so be careful.
