I used to go here often, but something happened with the food. There's no flavor in the food, it's bland. Even the spicy dishes lacked spice. My last dish I had was chicken stir-fry, and it tasted disgusting. It didn't even look or taste authentic. Not to mention, the little dining area that you enter through is so small with only 3 tables. I don't suggest going here if you're looking for good tasting food.

This was our first and last time trying Golden Sun. My husband thought the egg rolls were but, but otherwise our food was very bland. I added egg to my fried rice, but had I not, its just a few pieces of chicken with carrots. No green onions, sprouts, etc. There are far better places in the area.

This place is HORRIBLE! Explained my order 44 times and they STILL got it wrong AND then kept saying that's what I ordered. Food sucked everything cold NEVER AGAIN! DONT BOTHER going there if your starving!

Food was good.. all fresh ingredients, my fried rice was hot & tasty... The soup was thicker than usual Chinese soups but, it was filled vege's and meat... Delicious! Nice people, They said they are new owners and have nothing to do with the reviews over a month old... No Chinese tea, only can sodas... I need to go back and try some of the new exotic dishes!

Today ,l wanted to try new place . Never again !! This food has no taste, it wasn't even fried when l ordered fried rice. Meat was hard not even cooked. Never again 😒

Ordered through door dash. Food was never ready. Multiple dashers called apologetic but unable to explain why a simple order was not ready during a 3 hour ordeal. Called the restaurant multiple times, a manger was going to call us back. Never happened. Called again looking for some reason, logic or apology, however they wouldn't answer the phone.

We are regular customers, for their Chinese take out. Their food taste is consistent, order is made fresh and takes 30-45 minutes. We never had any issue with the accuracy of ordered items. Wish they had more vegetarian choices.

Supa awesome Supa good Whenever I'm in the mood for some Chinese this is my go to. Hits the spot every time and has yet to disappoint. 10/10 must-haves for all Chinese food lovers, hands down best Chinese food in the Homer / Lockport. If there was some kind of award I could give them, they would have thousands. Game-changers, can't beat them.

The food is fantastic and the lunch specials are very reasonably priced. I don't know what the negative reviews are talking about. I get the shrimp with broccoli lunch special frequently and it comes with large shrimp plus soup plus soda and fried rice

Sorry but the worst chinese food I have ever had in my life. None of was made like real chinese food. The rice alone had nothing in it.

Im so excited to post this. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE HAD BETTER CHINESE FOOD. Specifically i got Szechuan chicken and Hunan beef. Both were ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Their large portions are HUGE. One large meal could easily feed two people. I got vegetable fried rice. Omg i am so happy i found this place.

To me the Food is Pretty Good,I order takeout all the time and because of Covid the tables were taken out, so pics of food in black containers doesn't do justice! Try it you'll Like it!

Under new owners/mgnt.. Only resemblance to chinese food is the heritage background of workers/staff. Never again!!

Very very good chinese food. Their orange chicken, mongolian chicken, mongolian beef and chicken fried rice are amazing. Forgot to mention the teriyaki chicken aswell. Very fast service too. Love this place. Good job guys. Thank you

The food USED to be very good, but there must be new owners. Aug.2023: Ordered an egg roll & small beef fried rice for a quick lunch while on the road. It was $9.20!!! Decided to eat at the one table in the empty foyer, rather than in my car. My small beef fried rice was dry & totally tasteless + lacking green onion, bean sprouts or egg, (as others have noted.) Just dry beef slivers & dry rice & some peas & carrot cubes. Had to request hot mustard & only received 1 sweet & sour & 1 soy sauce. Both packaged egg roll sauces were subpar—watery, cheaply made, w/a wierd taste & color so I did not enjoy the egg roll tho it was at least hot. Never saw egg roll sauces this watery & cheaply made (& tasting) in my life. My first job was w/a very popular & reasonably priced Chinese takeout place in the Bogan H.S. Area. The chef was an incredible cook & taught me to make & appreciate GOOD Chinese food! He sold & eventually owned a successful & fancy place in NY before he died. Now THAT was good Chinese food—both near Bogan & in NY! The SouthWest Suburbs have few Chinese restaurants—especially for good carryout. I hate to criticize a restaurant during post-pandemic hard times, but if you cant stand the heat—get out of the kitchen! The previous owners probably sold you their recipes when you bought the place, but if so, you are obviously not using them as the food & quality have greatly declined. Golden Sun is now overpriced & tasteless. I arrived famished—so I reluctantly finished my egg roll, but threw most of my beef fried rice away when I got home. Sorry, but I will not be back.
