OMG Lifesaver. After driving for a few hours finding Kaibur Coffee was a Lifesaver. The service of Kit was awesome!! The choices and omg my husband and I shared an "Egg" Sandwich with a Chick Peas " Chicken" burrito that's incredible awesome taste all real Vegan. Thank you so much!! You have to stop by. We are on our way to Indy( the Vegan food desert.) From Philadelphia and after we left Philly pretty much the options are tater tots or French fries. Go figure. So well worth it to get out of our route to stop here and also get some more great food for the rest of the trip.

Kaibur is one of my favorite spots in Pittsburgh. The coffee is solid, and the food is tasty. I like to get the vegan egg with a classic drip coffee. You get good service with an angsty diner aesthetic. The vegan donuts are insanely good, not to mention the restaurant's namesake reference is top-notch. 😋

This is a classic hippie hangout. Small-ish, comfortable and open with a tiny cooking area where they turn out a ton of great food. It does get busy, but only because it's so good. And I loved the local, friendly, homey vibe. As another reviewer said, yes there's a lot of people with tattoos, but no, you won't feel unwelcome without them. And yes, there's a room by the bathroom, but no it's not close enough to be offensive. And yes, service slows down when they get packed (and they did) but the they rocked it with a griddle and two people. This is an awesome, chill cafe that everyone should check out.

I think these reviews are fake. We came in fairly early a couple of months ago on a Saturday for some vegan breakfast food and they had absolutely nothing vegan. My husband ended up just ordering a black coffee and we had to wait like 20 minutes for it. The employees were just standing around looking at their phones the whole time. We felt like we were being pranked on a hidden camera show. Super weird experience.

So friendly and welcoming here, the flavors were great and everything was delicious and so much of it made in house! I was recommended the rose latte and it was soooo good 🤍☕

Bit of a dive, but the food was good except for the coffee which was some of the worst I've had in a while. Great place for vegan options, difficult to find parking.

This place is darling! The Star Wars themed artifacts and memorabilia were eye catching and made great conversation pieces. The food was delicious! My daughter is vegan and gave it her stamp of approval and the non-vegan items were yummy and left me with a good wholesome dining experience. The young person who artfully made our oat milk lattes did a beautiful job. It was so peaceful sitting there enjoying our meal and conversation. We could have sat there all day!

Absolutely the worst coffee shop I've ever been to. I live two blocks away and would rather leave the neighborhood for coffee. I bought a latte for almost 6 dollars and it was maybe 8 Oz. By the time I walked home it was gone. They sell avocado toast for ten dollars. I got a breakfast sandwich for 15 dollars. The regular coffee doesn't taste that good. It's extremely overpriced and closes too early at 3 o clock. Get it together. Not sure why people like this place. Seems to attract a bunch of rich yuppies and doesn't cater to people in the neighborhood. If it were cheaper and open longer I would go every day.

pretty pricey for a later breakfast/coffee spot but overall good experience. had vegan options that weren't just sad, unseasoned veggies on a sandwich and coffee was decent! small cafe - had to share a larger table with another couple & people kept coming in and walking out.

Best vegan breakfast spot in the city. Vegan breakfast sandwich has a great hearty tofu scramble on thick cibatta. The vegan coffee selections were widespread and well made. The vegan donuts were the best I've had super fluffy. The atmosphere was small and intimate with great rustic decor. Absolutely coming back

I came here for the dog friendly outdoor seating. It’s set under an awning that offers reasonable protection from rain (not 100%, but better than an umbrella set into a picnic table). The food was fantastic too. It was much nicer than I thought I might get, since I was just looking for a quick bite at a cafe rather than a sit down meal at a full restaurant. I was really impressed.

We got the Avocado toast and Vegan egg cheese sandwich with Gluten Free bread. The food was incredible, best gluten free bread I have ever had! We also had the Lavender latte with oat milk and chai. Both were incredible. Really awesome place for travelers to meet some new people and the staff were very friendly.

The vegan breakfast sandwich is absolutely one of the best things I've ever eaten. Their drinks are delicious and the donuts are TO DIE FOR. I seriously love this place!! Every time I'm nearby I have to stop in/take out.

  • 5/5 Sandi R. 8 months ago on Google
This is a small neighborhood Cafe with the best vegan options ever. I had the raspberry- chocolate donut and it was amazing. I tasted the cheesecake and sugar donuts and they were good and so moist as well. I had the vegan Tofu scramble sandwich with the bacon and cheese and the macha ice drink. All vegan. I don't have any complaints. I wish I could have taken more food with me. They also make their own almond and Oat milk. Definitely recommend this place. Sorry no pics. My phone has no memory.

I cannot praise this place enough. The staff was so friendly, the building was cool and really clean, and the vegan food was absolutely amazing. I had a vegan chocolate Chai doughnut, matcha with soy milk, and a vegan ham, egg, & cheez sandwich. It was SO good. I would eat there every day if I lived closer. But anytime I'm in the area, Kaibur will be the only place I'll go.

This is a cozy little coffee shop with really excellent coffee and coffee drinks, vegan food items, and some great local food items for sale including local honey. 10/10 recommend, just know that seating is limited, but worth hanging around for 😊

The breakfast sandwiches are amazing! (I get mine without mayo) The breakfast bowls aren’t great and the pastries are pretty good. The vibe is really great and everyone is super kind, but they’re always low on staff and the wait for your food is pretty long. Overall great hangout space and good sandwiches.

I had the vegan breakfast sandwich, and my boyfriend had the regular one. Both sandwiches were amazing, the matcha latte was equally good. Hands-down one of the best cafes that I have ever been to, and I work at one.

I was recently in Pittsburgh visiting a friend, and I needed a coffee shop near his apartment to get scones and caffeine. WOW! The coffee here is so good, crafted and customized for each order, that my husband and I came back the second day for more. And the Chai was just as delicious. Definitely seek out this place.

A must visit in Polish Hill. We’re staying in Polish Hill for a month, and my boyfriend has already frequented this place 3 times this past week. Currently pickup/takeout only but they have a little shaded patio outside to enjoy. You can order online or in the store. Their Iced Matcha is amazing and the people here are super nice - they wait till you’re in the store to complete the order (such as adding ice etc) so that it’s not watered down by the time you arrive.

The donuts were really good but the chai latte was not even drinkable, it tasted like I was drinking straight turmeric. Nice people but drinks sucked, definitely not worth 8 dollars.

Food: For the breakfast sandwich, the vegan seaweed bacon is by far my favorite interpretation of "bacon". This is also the only place I can think of that currently has a good consistent tofu scramble. The donuts are also amazing. The flavors change every day, which makes it a joy coming every weekend. My favorite so far is probably blueberry matcha ❤️. Service: This is a small neighborhood coffee shop. The people who work at Kaibur know me by name and I know them (mostly) by name as well. Super friendly, cool people. Atmosphere: If you like Modest mouse, punk, and cool grungy art you'll probably be happy in this coffee shop. Definitely my kind of place 🙂.
