This experience exceeded my expectations. The manta rays are amazing creatures and they swam right below us. Near enough for a handshake but touching is not allowed. You don't have to be a good swimmer or even a swimmer at all since you are holding on to a flotation board with both arms and with a pool noodle under your legs for additional buoyancy. The crew efficiently take care of you into position as well as helping you off and on the boat. There is light enough to see the rays but not too bright to bother them.

Amazing crew, Roy and Lena were the best. My wife and I were with just another small group, so we got to kind of go off track. We saw sea turtles, spinner dolphins, humpback whale with their baby. While on our way to our first spot Lena heard about a pod of pilot Whales in the area. So they asked if we wanted to check it out because they are rare to see. We all said yes and went out to check them out. I personally got to get in the water to view them. I am a Naui Certified Diver. While in the water we also saw a 9ft White Tip Shark. Dreams were made for me today. Best day ever and would use these guys anytime I am on the Island.

Great experience. The crew did a very good job making sure everything went well and moving us towards the mantas. Definitely the best snorkeling I've done on the big island.

We went on the Manta Ray tour with Captain Lena, Alex, Tiger, Mike and couple more crew on May 26, 2022 and had an awesome experience. The kids loved it and they took care of me and my wife as we had no swimming experience. This tour is one of the easiest and coolest ones you can do and make memories.

We had an amazing Manta Ray tour on August 22 with Captain Lena, Rory, and Peter. What an amazing crew! They were so engaged and aware of the ocean. Yes, we saw manta rays, but we had a pod of dolphins join us that Lena made sure we slowed down to enjoy them. They noticed and pointed out a school of tuna "bubbling" the water surface. Then there were 2 monk seals that joined the boat while most people were watching for mantas. It was an amazing bucket list evening of a lifetime!🤩🏝🌊🐬🐠

We took a ocean adventure midday tour with Lena, Laura and Connor. They were an amazing group! This was mine and my husbands first time snorkeling and they made sure we felt comfortable the whole time and checked in with us often to make sure we were still doing okay. They never made you feel pressured to get in the water and we’re always encouraging of all guests. Before we even got to our first stop we saw a whale shark! The crew was so excited and jump in and took a video on my phone. The love they have for ocean life is so apparent in every task! I would highly recommend this crew!!

Absolutely fantastic trip, crew was a blast! Within 3-5 minutes of being on we saw a green turtle and a pod of Spinner and spotted Dolphins. The captain did a few turns around the pod so that we could get good views. The snorkeling was even better, we were in the water for at least 45mins. Then they drive us out about 6 miles, 6,000 ft to look for a whale shark. The current was really fast, so it was too dangerous. They took us back to do more snorkeling.... Another pod of dolphins joined us too.

Amazing, fantastic night Manta Ray snorkeling adventure! By far exceeded my expectations. Lena and crew not only did a great job getting everyone in the water and situated, but the entire crew was super knowledgeable not only about the Manta Rays, but all the ocean life. One member of the crew even came to the bow of the boat where my husband and I were standing on the way back to show us the luminescent plankton, super cool! The Manta Rays put on a show for us and took our breath away. This is a must do activity and you don’t need to be a super confident swimmer to enjoy the experience. Thank you Lena and crew for giving us an experience we will never forget!

Shoutout to the amazing crew and team at Ocean Encounters! Just had an amazing snorkeling trip with our 7 and 9 year old and we were a bit nervous that we may have bitten off more then we can chew. But NOPE!!! This crew was phenomenal and not only helped build my kiddos confidence but showed them an amazing time and even found a star fish for the kids to hold and learn about! Can’t say enough good things, will forever use this company for all future snorkeling adventures!

Knowledgeable and friendly crew. They took us out to enjoy the ocean and we got to see manta rays swim by us. While in the water waiting for the rays to show us they regaled us with their facts about rays and what we may or may not see. We were very happy with the experience. My daughter even got to steer the boat back to dock. This a copy from the "Bite Me" boat charter. There are the same guys. Our trip started from the "Bite Me" storefront at the boat launch.

This was an amazing experience. When we first left the docks we saw a few dolphins. We then went out into the large ocean and saw a momma and baby whale who came so close they went under us! On our way back to the docks we saw a sea turtle lounging. All in all this was an amazing experience a lot thanks to our captains Noah, Rachel, and Lena.

Our family booked a Manta Ray sunset snorkel and it was incredible. There was me and my husband and our 17 and 12 year old boys. The water was calm and the sunset was gorgeous. We were in the water for an hour, we only saw 1 Manta swim by quickly in the first 20 minutes and thought that might be it. Our guide moved us about 30 feet away from the spot and we were in Manta Ray paradise. There was up to 6 at a time right under us doing barrel rolls. One touched me as it went by and another ran right into my teenager. We had a 30 minute show and they were so close that we could have reached out and touched them. Our guides and captain were awesome and told us all about the mantas and their behaviours. They obviously have a passion for what they do. I don't have anything bad to say about our experience except maybe if everyone that is going would show up by 5:30, which is mentioned in your reservation. It is frustrating when everyone is ready to go and a family shows up at 5:45 and still has to get geared up. The bad reviews about not seeing anything is not the fault of any company, it's nature. They are wild mantas and will show up if they want. Our guide had told us the last 3 weeks they barely saw anything and that we we lucky to have such a great show! This was definitely the highlight of our trip and well worth the money for such a close encounter.

We went on the Mid Day snorkel tour. Boat ride were great. The staff was very good with all ages (we had little kids on our tour.) Everyone was super comfortable. The staff knew how to handle any situation and the whole boat had fun. Water was clear and plenty of fish. Thank you

The manta ray snorkel is a must do! My wife had virtually no snorkeling experience and the crew (captain Lena, Alex and Connor) made her feel extremely comfortable. There were around 10 different mantas and a ton of fish also. Such beautiful creatures! Our trip had the full range of ages from kids to senior citizens and the crew gave everyone personal attention. You can tell that they love what they do; funny, caring, informative and still professional. If you want to see the manta rays up close and personal, this is the crew to go with!
