2024 and still as wonderful as ever. Amazing Sunday roasts with incredible roast potatoes and all the trimmings including proper amounts of gravy! Wonderful local pub with extremely good rotisserie chickens. It is a nice cozy pub with various seating options. Food is casual and comfortable with options for small groups and walk ins. They've changed the chefs again and tonight the chicken was the best we've had there for years. They should include the gravy though and not charge for it like they used to and offer roast potatoes as an option. The brownie and flori Di latte was delicious, soft and creamy.

Had a fantastic Sunday roast here! The chicken had a wonderful deep, aged flavour like they had roasted up the original “Foghorn Leghorn” from 1946 by Robert McKimson! The cauliflower cheese was well cooked and with a hint of cheesiness leaving you wondering about the possibility of a gruyere fondue bath to plunge it into! (as a side dish)! The stuffing had great flavour but looked like a dried out, shrunken slice of meatloaf, left a little too long in the oven after an overworked suburban accountant phoned home to say he would be working late at the office! The carrots were long and yielding! Bugs bunny would of been happy! The broccoli was alarmingly threadbare, like a tiny army of lumberjacks had been deforresting random patches of the broccoli forest controlled by disparate, rival lumber companies trying to assert their right to logging but maintaining a tenuous agreement not to encroach on neighbouring territories! The Yorkshire pudding was like an amazing eggy cloud with satisfyingly crispy edges! The roast potatoes were awesome with thick, almost burnt edges giving way to a fluffy, white interior like a “Tunnocks Teacake”. The green beans were just beans; better with a little salt! Aside from my rambling hyperbole, this was a terrific roast, and I commend it to the Internet!

🚇Canonbury 🍺 £6.00 Pilsner Urquell ❤️ One of Islington’s favourites. . The Snooty Fox is located kinda sandwiched between Highbury and Newington Green. Canonbury Overground is just down the road and Highbury & Islington tube is a ten minute walk away. . This pub has a curved facade that links both sides of Grosvenor Avenue. This is a good size one bar pub which has some traditional and modern features. There are beautiful green tiles around the servery and a brass fireplace on the far wall. The walls are adorned with music legends including Tina Turner and John Lennon. Sticking with the music theme, there is a vinyl jukebox that spins old 45’s. . This independent pub has an excellent choice of beers including five rotating cask options. I had a Pilsner Urquell which was a lovely drop and average price. The food menu has a good mix of dishes including rotisserie chicken, pub classics and roasts on a Sunday. . The atmosphere was relaxing on this Saturday lunchtime and the pub was gradually filling up. I was served by a very personable lady who seemed to be the landlady, she was busy welcoming in punters and tending to their orders and running food. The clientele was a mix of young and old, drinkers and diners. . The @snootyfoxlondon is passionate about its beer and food and was recently recognised by CAMRA as North London pub of the year. I really enjoyed my visit here, this is a great pub for all occasions. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 15/10/22

Funky pub with a gravy heavy Sunday roast (we love gravy!) I’d suggest a few more greens. Love the prints on the wall. The only critique I’d give is the tight spaces. A little hard to move around

Lovely pub, a very enjoyable Sunday roast and a great atmosphere. The NSM City-2 jukebox hasn't worked in 2.5 years now to though, which is really disappointing. It's an expensive exotic light currently. Please fix it! It would be a great feature for the pub

We held the Total Eclipse of Ian Harte End of Season Awards Ceremony (TEIH) (EoSAC) in the function room upstairs at the Snooty Fox. The room comfortably sat 16 players around a large table for dinner, while Liam and his team were incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout the night. They even sorted us out with a projector and speakers so we could have our own music. Report from the Room: After months of rumour and speculation, Sean Breslin was officially declared the club’s new captain. The Boyer man is the third skipper to take the reigns, a source from inside the dressing room reported that the players are collectively “excited and relieved” at his “obscene power grab”. Alan Hughes took home the big fish in a small pond award as he was named Player of the Season, while O’Malley was named Player’s Player of the Season winning the popular vote. If you’re still reading it’s important to take a moment to thank Jamie Khan for his stellar leadership, overseeing the club’s most successful season to date. He’ll be donning the famous white many more times in the future. So that’s it, and since Breso organised last night’s party, I think we can all agree that TEIH is in a very safe pair of hands for 2022. God bless and Merry Christmas.

Spot on pub, beer Garden on thw front is small but if you get a seat it's somewhere you can sit and pass the hours in peace, with good beers on draft.

Great food, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere, bosh, done (words of the wife). Much better than The CPT. More heart than the Alwyne. Much nicer than the Weaver's Arms. Wife happy.

Vegetarian roast was pretty average. Dried Yorkshire pudding and HARD seitan. Service was very good though

Really enjoyed the Sunday roast, lots of options for meat eaters. However, my friend is vegetarian and has a nut allergy, and the menu on the website offered a roast seitan dish. Unfortunately, when we arrive they only had a nut roast for vegetarians. The waitress was really accommodating and offered my friend all the trimmings in lieu of a main. Would be 5 stars if they updated their menu online and had a few more options for vegetarians, but otherwise the roast, drinks and service were great and I'll definitely be back!

Lovely local pub, cosy, friendly warm. Nice Sunday roasts too with lots of different options, different meats and veggie options.

Lovely lil north London pub - the lamb roast was definitely decently delicious, pleasant selection of beers and ales. Sound staff and the fact that Covid is around means measures are in place which of course isn’t their fault. Good local spot

Amazing manager, food is quality, music and ambience are excellent. It's a truly lovely pub and worth a visit if you're in the area. Book a table on weekends - it's popular and known to get busy. They also host occasional wine tastings, open mics and quizzes so check their site beforehand. Love it here. 100% coming back again.

Lovely pub in the suburbs of London. We went there for a beer and lunch. We got a nice fish and chips, a vegetarian burger, mac and cheese and we finished with sticky toffee with ice cream. Not the best for food but it is in a really convenient place just outside the train station and with good atmosphere.

Sub par roast, yorkies came out burnt, potatoes were terrible, cauli/broccoli were mushy. Beef was chewy Table of 8 sat down 3pm Sunday, and didn't get welcomed or served for 15 minutes until we went up and asked (it was only half full)

Unfortunately the roasts were really poor - everything was dry and tasteless. The beef was so overdone that even my steak knife was struggling to get through it. One piece of cauliflower cheese on the plate (honestly, what is the point?”) 2 stars because the service was good, just let down by the kitchen

Very nice little pub. I attended the pub last week and it was very welcoming. The staff were very friendly and happy to help. I didn't try the food, although the menu looked great. Place is quite cosy but that's not a bad thing at all. Great service will definitely return to try some of the food.

Just had a meal with my family which included 2 children. We were served by Linda and she was extremely attentive. Very accommodating. Food was lovely and good value for Money. Thanks for a great experience

Great corner pub with good ale and wine selection. The roast chicken is very good; forgot to include it in the picture, but they definitely do not skimp on the gravy. Will certainly be returning to this local, but beware that it's a smaller pub and often fills up.

Cozy pub, friendly staff. Grilled chicken burger though was what prompted to leave a review. Outstanding - better than most burger places!

Lovely & relaxed, very generous food portions & friendly staff, only slight dissapoinment was no seitan option despite being on the board outside, that said, the nut roast was lovely. Would definitely go again!

Went in for a Sunday Roast as a table of 6 with 2 vegans in our party. The meat roasts were great - big portions and the gravy was really tasty, although the carrots and parsnips were slightly cold and undercooked. However, the vegan roast was an embarrassment. The waitress forgot to mention it doesn't come with the cauliflower cheese nor Yorkshire pudding despite them having a vegan cauliflower cheese as a starter available on the menu and the menu specifically says "All roasts served with cauliflower cheese & Yorkshire pudding". They only told us when they were putting the meal in front of us. The vegan gravy was so watery and the "Roast Vegan Meat" was literally a fried dry Beyond Burger. Not sure if this is the standard but for 17 pounds I would definitely recommend avoiding the vegan option.

Really good beer. Otter bitter was spot on. Food was very good. Camembert start was really good, duck cooked spot on! Really go spot to go to. Staff friendly and attentive, service is good. Would recommend.

Very nice pub, good atmosphere and welcoming, friendly staff. Stopped for a drink or two before going out to eat so didn't sample the food but the menu looked great! Nice buzz on a Saturday night - good vibe. I'd definitely go back and would order something to eat for sure

Me and a couple of friends went on the weekend. Amazing experience, food was amazing with a great price and a refreshing atmosphere. There was a minor complaint that the middle aged female server seemed rather gloomy and brought down the overall vibe, other than that it was great.

We went there as a group for Christmas lunch. The food was amazing, turkey with salad and gravy was very good, pints of beer tasted normal, and the desert was breathtaking. The atmosphere is olden style, i would recommend giving this place a visit.

Good pub near Canonbury Station and not far from the Emirates Stadium. 4 cask beers - and 1 cider - on handpump when I last visited. A few tables and benches outside. Not too busy after the North London Derby.

Love this little local pub. Great ales and food, lovely service. And place gets bathed with sun at the end of the afternoon which makes it lovely sitting there sipping a nice beer.

  • 5/5 James W. 1 year ago on Google
A really great local pub, really good service - I think better for real ales than modern IPAs - I'd love to see a more interesting modern IPA than Beavertown, but it suffices. Roast dinner is mostly very good - especially the gravy, which is superb. Yorkie was burnt on this occasion - they aren't perfect but they are loveable. And you get a proper warm, community kind of feel from this pub. Do give it a try.

Great neighborhood pub right around the corner from me. I’ve been a number of times and this is my first review! Love the ambiance, quite roomy, has outdoor seating, and a nice range of beers. Great spot to hangout with friends over a pint in the neighborhood! Its my go-to!
