I know it’s a bargain to have an ‘omakase’ dinner at $500 per head. But this experience wasn’t up to par as an omakase dinner. I haven’t had an tempura omakase without a shrimp head before this, which chefs usually serve the heads to show that the shrimp is freshly prepared. My friend’s shrimp even had the vein not completely removed. The squid was thin and without any fresh taste. And the whole meal was a bit of a rush and ended within an hour. The vegetables and tempura don were good. I understand the food quality might be adjusted due to the low price range and the rush might be affected by the recent COVID arrangement. But too much has been sacrificed and customer experience has not been taken care of. Overall an omakase experience was not delivered. Might be good enough if I was just going for a tempura don.

The seafood were fresh and the tempura egg was just a cherry on top. As for the unagi set, it was pretty much packed with the whole eel in the rice box, there must've been 7-8pieces worth of unagi on top of a bed of rice. Overall an amazing tempura experience if you enjoy fresh seafood and tempura!

Great tempura with good value. Had a lunch set, seafood tempura don, that cost $300. Love the sardine tempura -鱚 the most (crispy coating with soft meat). The staff is friendly and the place is clean. The room is filled with the sesame aroma, probably too strong for people with sensitive noses.

Authentic great food. Tempura was perfectly fried, batter was thin. Personally I preferred the tempura set compare to the tendon as the sauce was a bit salty for my liking. A small restaurant so expect there to be a queue. Also some oil smell does get onto your clothes

Delicious seafood tempura (fish, shrimp and squid), nicely presented in a Japanese style, overall a delicated lunch. High quality justifies a higher price. Limited seating of 10 person only.

Fantastic tempura place! You need to book for dinner but lunch is walk-in only and seats plus food are limited! I made a mistake and ordered the tempura don (still really crsipy, tasty and flavorful) but I should have ordered the tempura set. That way the food won't get soggy too quick since fresh tempura's quality drops quite quickly. Lesson learnt for next time!

Everything was well prepared and the service was good. The only thing I would have liked is if the floor was a bit cleaner. My wife stepped on something slippery under her side of the table and I had to wipe it up. This was even before the meal was prepared for us so it was left their since lunch service we assume. The food? Very good

Value for money place. The sukiyaki pot (addition to omakase menu) is a must. Tempura depend on ingredients, most of them are fresh.

The food was pleasantly decent, seatings can be a bit tight which is fine. I wish there’s better ventilation for the chef and us, and that the chef has a little assistant to help out instead of having to do both the cooking and cleaning himself.

Went for dinner, which only offers omakase menus. Was it omakase? Absolutely not. Just because you put out different tempuras separately doesn’t make it omakase. Just because they tell you which sauce (soy sauce vs. salt) doesn’t make it omakase service. If you are going to call it a tempura-special restaurant, you really gotta be more than average. Food was “okay,” but that’s not what you expect when paying nearly $1,000 per person. Service, they were “nice” but i really did not like getting keep interrupted, especially when they gave us the lunch menu brochure, advertising what they offer for lunch. Very typical salesy HK restaurant. Would never go again.

This was my first visit to this tempura restaurant. I went during lunch hours, it’s walk-in only. Reservations available for dinner. I ordered the Tenkai Tendon set with wasabi. It was delicious! The tempura was freshly-cooked, deep fried at the open kitchen. The tempura was very light, not oily or greasy. The meal was very enjoyable. The service was excellent too!

I've been there so many times, I always go there when I want to have tempura or a nice lunch. It cannot be booked for lunch but definitely worth the queue!

I admire the tempura master’s skill. I can’t feel their tempura is oily, although they are deep fried.

Good quality Japanese food. But I still like 一宝 more. Much cheaper in weekdays. Don't come on weekends, price double.

Overall is a decent experience. 10 diners would be served at the same time at counter table. Which is quite intimate experience. However, Be aware, you must be seated at or before 6:30/8:15pm (the dinner slot) as They would start serving at one go. Chef served us the freshly made tempura one by one and waiter would give us a little intro. We had the weekend dinner menu which is $1000 per head. My favorite dish is the Japanese mushroom. So moist and so crispy. Love it. If you wanna give it a go, maybe could try the weekday menu first because it is super good deal. I do like Tenkai, but it is a bit rigid dinning experience.

If you like Tendon, u must try. The queue was long however the wait wasn’t that long. Enjoyed it!

Overall delicious and pleasant culinary experience. It is a rare tempura omakase restaurant. Be ware of the fact that this restaurant requires guests to be punctual. All people in your group have to arrive until 15 mins past the reserved time, otherwise they actually ask you to leave. Although this may come as a bit rude but since this is tempura omakase they have to serve everyone the same food at the same time in the same order. Also the restaurant was also a bit hot from the heat of cooking. Anyhow, the chef is Japanese with craftmanship and some of the dishes were truly tasty.

food is very good! but had better queue before it opens for lunch. delicious but not worth to wait for an hour. I love the reddish pickle

Pretty good lunch spot. Limited menu options for food and no option for drinks. But the tempura is really good
