Excellent French cooking - I would definitely come back again next time, especially given their HSBC Premier buy-1-get-1 free offer. My favourite dish is their signature caviar appetizer with lobster jelly and uni.

Amber is certainly one of my favourite restaurants across the globe. This is the first time here after renovation, the foods remain extraordinary with delighted cooking technique. Really enjoyed the Aka Uni, and the Red Deer Loin was also marvellous.

I want to write something nice about Amber, but I CAN NOT. We went for dinner with such great expectations. I recall the Amber back in 2014. These are 2 different experiences back then and 2023. 2023 Amber is a tourist trap catering to Mainlanders. Including the chef kitchen tour and photo op with the chef. The glaring lighting in the dining room, odd background music, it was manufactured atmosphere. The tourists wearing tennis shoes, their shopping bags, t-shirts. Some came in what looked like sleepwear. The wait staff, we had a matronly Philippina waiting on us (as she was the designated English speaker) with her loud booming heavily accented voice announcing each dish's title, with no comprehension on how it was made, where the food was sourced. Her every announcement herald another dish which we were yet again disappointed with. Each plate was social media worthy but leaves your taste buds wanting. The food came in uneven pacing. The wine list has a 200% mark up and if you study the list, which we did in advance, it is not Michelin worthy. The push was really to buy the 2013 Dom P. We ended up with an understated bottle of Meursault, retailing at a wine store for $1200 HKD but we paid the 200% mark up. The food was consistently bland. With all the spices available here in Hong Kong, the predominant flavor was salt. What a shame. The best part of the meal was the baked sour dough bread. The overall flavor pallette reminded me of Priority Pass airport lounge food in Amsterdam. I knew it was not a good start when the amuse bouche was thinly sliced flavorless rabbit food coupled with what tasted like Knopf beef cube consomme. While the food was well plated and presented, what we came for was not show and share but a promised Michelin quality meal. It was not that. Would I return to Amber? No. My hotel executive lounge has far more ambience - no gestapo style lighting, servers there are discreet, and the food there is by far more engaging, because it has flavor. Yes, this is a harsh review but after spending $19,000 HKD worth, my time and 1 evening, let's put it this way, I paid for the privilege of writing this review.

A place for the special occasion. Been to Amber a few times but is certainly impressed by the new menu. The highlight for us were the caviar ,with a cream of corn, crab meat and a seafood based jelly; as well as the veal tartare with black truffle. The risotto with veal and lobster was also spectacular. Service and atmosphere were the usual five star standard, intimate, attentive and professional. A great place to spend some quality time with your date. Best to put your phone away and just enjoy the food, wine, and your company.

We came here for 8 courses full experience and felt very disappointed. Only two dishes are good while the rest 6 are either mediocre or bad. Service was also bad. We ordered earl grey but gave us coffee? I think the first two dishes are too salty and creamy. The main course is well cooked but without a wow feeling. Desserts are disaster without a balance of flavours - either too sour or too dry.

Came for farewell dinner. Their courses are very caviar-heavy. Love the service, food, and ambience. Portion is not too small per plate. Starter bread with olive oil was delicious too. Would recommend for special occasion.

Visited for my boyfriend’s birthday, and we were blown away by the service, food, and overall atmosphere. What we really enjoyed was their attention to detail and ensure the best experience for any customer. I had some dietary restrictions and wasn’t too fussy but mentioned it in passing as I booked online but they were able to recommend and even suggest alternative options to ensure that I enjoyed it as much as my not-at-all picky boyfriend. They even provided such a wonderful cake for the birthday celebration that made it even more special. What’s also great about the lunch was that it included 2h free flow which seems so worth it with al the different alcoholic/non-alcoholic drink options. Thank you Amber! We’ll definitely come back in the future!

Amber is a once in a lifetime kind of experience! Indeed, it's quite pricey but the set menu is creative and very qualitative. All the dishes were well presented and delicious! As part of the experience, you will be invited to eat one of the dishes inside the open kitchen area where a cook will serve you the food and explain what's in your plate. It's very interesting to see what is behind the scene! Overall, the service is top notched (as you could expect for a Michelin star restaurant) and you will exit the venue full of joy!

Classic restaurant in hk. Loved loved loved! Got the Extended Amber Experience and it was stunning! It’s a 2 michelin stared and a green stared as well and it was so delicious. One of my favorite green stared restaurant. Worth every penny. If you are having a celebration, this is the place. Would love to come back for dinner.

This is our second time having lunch at Amber. Every time being here has left us the best memories. Relaxing ambiance, top-notch service and quality food. The food is seasonal and always fantastic with splendid presentation. We throughly enjoyed every aspect of the lunch arrangement. Staffs were delightful and very considerate. A big thumb up to the entire staffs for making my friend’s birthday distinctive and memorable. We’ll definitely be back again and love to recommend Amber to everyone.

As one of the most iconic fine dining restaurants in Hong Kong, Amber is also one of my top favourite restaurants. I have had some many special occasions here - for birthday, for work celebration and etcetc. Amber by Chef Richard Ekkebus has also been proudly recognised for 15 consecutive years with two Michelin-stars and The Michelin Green Star since 2022. The consistency of delivering a high quality dining experience is just incredible. I had my 5th Amber experience lately and it was amazing. The kitchen experience of the Full Amber Experience menu was such a highlight! I love the "immersive" and interactive experience- the Amber team would showcase how they curated the dish in front of you and share about the philosophy. I just couldn't wait to be back again!

I had the Amber experience lunch here to celebrate the anniversary. The restaurant is so cozy and elegant. We tried the Amber experience lunch $2088 per head. First come with appetizers, which is the cold soup - very delicious! And the one bite foie gras lollipop is unbelievably good! So creamy and rich! The Aka UNi cauliflower lobster is one of their signature dish, it is very creamy with flavor of UNi, lobster and caviar, simply umami!! Pair it with seaweed crackers, very very good! The blue lobster is another highlight of the day. The soup is so rich in flavor and the lobster is very fresh and bouncy, this dish is really as good as the signature aka UNi cauliflower lobster dish! The veal Tartare is smooth and light , good for summer. The duck foie gras is very smooth and it is not greasy at all. The lamb loin very really tender and juicy, I don’t need to chew much at all. The chocolate raspberry cake got a nice balance of sweet and sour, just the right amount without getting too sweet. The restaurant made us a small peach cake to celebrate anniversary, thanks so much! And the petite four portion is generous. Overall we had a memorable anniversary.

It was a function and had a private room. The tasting menu was superb with the paired drinks. With a comfortable ambiance and with those attending appearing when you needed them and quietly slipping away when there were done. Didn't bust the bank, but all relative I guess. Great evening had by all the guests.

We also ordered a Dom 2010 champagne for our dinner. It evaluated our dinning experience. When you order champagne, you will also enjoy an free extra dish with it. That course was also wonderful. I highly recommend you to try it if you want to have a try of this extraordinary dish and champagne. Amber is a great place for foodies. It deserves a Michelin 3 stars. “Worth for the spent!” Celebrating my friend’s birthday with the full amber experience menu, whole experience and all the food are just amazing. None of the dishes we had for the night could we challenge for improvement, nor the friendliness of staff introducing each dish with humour n passion. Really by far the best n thoughtful French cuisine in town!

Our travel party of 5 had the Amber Extended Experience enable us to sample the seasonal menu available on Aug 8, friendly maître d' welcome us through the dimly lite entrance into the bright dining room with our spacious booth seat our dining party, enjoyed this causal dining ambiance, food was nicely platted and taste fresh as expected, special highlight will be the caviar lobster served with cracker. The parting chocolate is a nice souvenir to end the experience with a sweet note.

Superb lunch menu. Took the entry level 3-course set lunch and everything was serviced perfectly and with precision. With the amuse-bouche and petit fours, it felt like a 5-course lunch. The service was invisible, but incredibly polite informative and timed to perfection. A great experience!

Came here for a birthday lunch. Exquisite fine dining at its best. You have to reserve with a credit card. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was welcoming. I am not sure if the food was worth the price but it was delicious and my husband definitely enjoyed, which was the most important thing.

Had a belated Valentine's Day lunch with husband and opted for Amber's Full Experience. It was a fantastic 3 hour experience - Service was impeccable, food was absolutely delectable, and the atmosphere was pleasant. They were also attentive with accommodating my pregnancy food restrictions. Very much recommend Amber if you're looking for something for a special day or just feeling like treating yourself well.

We’re a bit disappointed after the chef chosen to go for dairy-free dishes because the flavours were simply not as good as before. After 10 months, we went again & so happy that the execution & quality have improved a lot, almost comparable to the good old days. Nice & cosy dining environment & impeccable services with gorgeous wine pairing recommendations.

Amazing French restaurant to go to for special occasions. My favourite was definitely the aka uni with caviar dish and of course Amber’s signature madeleines. These madeleines are extremely delicate and effortlessly dissolve in your mouth, with a thin, crispy coating on the outside and a soft, warm, buttery texture on the inside.

The Food is still outstanding as usual. The taste, the doneness and the texture of Quail was perfect! None of dishes disappointing us along the whole meal. With their great service, definitely will come back again and again!

Meet expectations as a Michelin 2 stars restaurant. Overall good food n wines. The reception staff are les friendly but the restaurant service attendants were friendly with good smile. The Weekend Wine Lunch menu would be a good choice for first time visitor. Personally think the starter and middle courses were good, but the main course was less impressive as I would prefer more selections of red meats than white meats. And, the transition course and desserts were sort of duplicate as both use strawberries .

The decor inside the restaurant is beautiful but they will undergo a renovation soon. The service was wonderful. Every course was beautifully presented. The overall dining experience was exceptional. Would definitely come back again.

The menu is Japanese inspired, and there are so many subtle touches throughout the dining experience you can't help but say wow. Whilst it isn't cheap, it's well worth the experience.
