Honestly the worst possible 5 stars hotel in Hong Kong. This hotel brings the Marriott chain to shame. Disgusting room quality. Our floor board was stuck to our feet when we were walking around in our newly received room. What a scam this place is. They moved us to another room, only to be greeted with more stains and flimsy floor board. The lady on the phone was apologetic but reception staffs are just another level of disappointment. No apology, Dino’s attitude made us feel like we’re beggars at this hotel. Highly recommend to not book this hotel. At this price point for a premium product, there’s absolutely no excuse. Seriously regretting our choice. The view is not worth this level of disgrace.

A beautiful hotel, going through a few upgrades so will likely be even nicer in a few months, but my god was the service horrible!!! For sure the worst hotel experience I have had in a long time!!! First they refused to honour the room rate as they decided it was too cheap. I showed them the email confirmation. They refused to even accept that. We then called Marriott reservations who made the booking for us and they confirmed by email the rate was correct. Even then they struggled to accept that we were not lying and tried to insist I pay the higher rate and they’d refund me later once they were comfortable the lower rate was right. This whole process took well over an hour, it was a disgrace. After moving past the above, I then ate at the cafe and, as normal, I requested they charge my room. All went well, I signed the docket and left. Then they called and said for some stupid reason they couldn’t charge anything to my room even though they had my credit card on the booking and they requested I come back and pay directly. I couldn’t do this as I had a meeting to go into and then after the meeting I simply forgot. It gets to 9pm that night and I’m going to bed early because I’ve got an international zoom meeting at 4am and they proceed to call my room 5 times in a row until I literally had to unplug the phone. Then they come and bang on my door (despite the do not disturb light being on) until I yell at them that I’m trying to sleep and will not be coming down to reception. Out of annoyance, I checked out the next day without speaking to anyone and exactly like I suspected, they had no issue charging the $30 to my credit card. Honestly, it was pathetic service and I will never stay there again!!!!

As a quarantine hotel, we were very happy and had a great experience during our quarantine stay at Renaissance Harbour View Hotel. With the decrease in quarantine days we had a smooth rebooking process with the hotel. The concierge was very professional, helpful and made the quarantine stay relaxing. Very satisfied with the meals on the room. And the vie, priceless. I recommend being Marriott Bonvoy member and using the app to communicate with the front desk. We will definitely come back after the pandemic.

Very disappointed with my first visit back here after the pandemic, having been many times before. Unexpected £500 deposit asked for at check-in, bar (which closed at 9.30) not available as a meeting space with my colleagues (so we didn't have any), 90 minute wait for room service that arrived cold, items not replaced during room servicing. I hope it's only temporary and they sort it out as it's a good location. My room also looked straight into an open plan office 6 feet away.

Great mid-range hotel less than ten minutes from the MTR Wan Chai station, and right by the Convention Centre. You can walk there via the elevated walkways the whole way. Great views of the harbour as promised, and the executive lounge at the top two floors, while not the nicest or the best food/snacks, has a great view from the upper floor. The lobby is quite nice for a Renaissance as well. Rooms are more than adequate by Hong Kong standards.

The hotel is located at a good location. but the room is too small with no bathtub. also the view is nice here, but the club lounge is too crowded. also the happy hours food is good here. the sport center is very nice that at 11F of the hotel. also they have a outdoor pool that could not use because of bad weather. but breakfast here is nice lots of food at lounge but also too crowded.

If they are understaffed and not ready to become a quarantine hotel, they shouldn't have. Absolutely the worst quarantine experience ever. Front desk almost never picks up the phone, really bad meals, and absent service. When I order delivery food, it took 1 hour to arrive at my room from the front desk. Affordable hotels (Courtyard, Pentahotel) I tried offer far better services.

Excellent experience with evening wedding banquet (as a guest who was also helping newlyweds coordinate the event). Efficient and considerate service, well-maintained facilities, good food quality (Chinese menu), and easy to access for wedding guests with taxi-stand and nearby public transport options. Special mention to Alex, our manager that evening, who took proactive steps to ensure everything was in good order. Even when we had last-minute changes or requests, he was very accommodating and maintained a positive, can-do attitude. This made the whole event very enjoyable for newlyweds and guests.

Poor service and cheap looking rooms. If this was a 4-star hotel I would have been more forgiving of my experience there, but as this hotel is rated as a 5-star hotel my expectations were higher, and it proved a disappointing stay. The poor experience started from our checking-in, with an unhelpful receptionist who was all about following procedure though we didn’t quite fit with their normal situation. After taking way longer than was necessary to check-in, we finally got our room card and walked ourselves to the room. We got an upgrade, so I’d have normally been forgiving of the bad start, but when I saw our room it only annoyed us more. The view was not bad, but the room was small, a bit old fashioned, tiny bathroom with no bathtub, and an old and small flat screen TV. This was certainly no 5-star level of room. I called to make a reservation at their Chinese restaurant, but was told no tables were available, and it didn’t matter if we were guests at the hotel, they couldn't help. As we already arranged to meet clients at the hotel I personally went down to the restaurant to find that there were plenty of empty tables. I spoke with the manager there and he gave me a booking for 45 minutes later. Don’t know why they couldn’t have done that for us in the first place! The food at the restaurant turned out to be quite good, though priced quite high. Their gym there was well equipped, and the fact that they shared a pool with the Grand Hyatt Hotel, next door, meant service there was far better. I certainly won’t want to stay at this hotel again. Better to stay at the Grand Hyatt instead.

The room interior was great, with a comfy queen bed and a nice view. Housekeeping was always on time. However, the hotel corridors and room had a strong musky smell. The bed linen also left me severely itching every night. Technology in the hotel was also dated. On the outside, the hotel gave a feel of luxury but there's still a lack of attention to detail when it comes to service, cleanliness, food and amenities. I will not rate this a five-star hotel at all, especially for the rates you're paying. What you're paying for is the harbour view and good location, everything else is only decent.

Service, as always, was excellent. If they're available, pay for a room with a harbour view. It's well worth it.

It isn't a new hotel but with the relatively newly renovated interior, the rooms are very comfortable. This hotel definitely has one of the best views of Hong Kong!

The rooms are comfortable and pretty clean. The coffee maker is superb! The main restaurant is fabulous! My salmon dinner arrived promptly and was much better than I could have ever expected. Absolutely delicious! The service was prompt and polite. I dined alone, but was not uncomfortable, ever! This restaurant I'd definitely much better than most restaurants I frequent. I will definitely be back!

Great stay - great value, great service. Only thing to note is the pool is shared with Grand Hyatt and their current capacity management system does not make any sense. Room service was really good quality and fast service, same with the breakfast buffet

Great location with harbour view. Room is not big, Hong Kong size I believe. Haven't been in HK for long time, there is no light show at harbour anymore, how disappointing. Hotel needs update, most of staffs don't speak mandarin properly, service is good, the hotel treats their elite clients with care and attention, which is enjoyable.

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent stay at the Hong Kong Renaissance Hotel. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory, and I would like to bring the following issues to your attention. Firstly, upon check-out, the hotel did not release the deposit for the two hotel rooms that were reserved. The amount has not been released to my account, and I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter promptly. I have already opened a case with your support team and did not have any follow up. Secondly, my reservation clearly stated that I had booked two rooms with two twin beds each. However, upon arrival and check-in at 12:00 PM on the designated day, I was informed that the hotel had run out of rooms with two twin beds. Instead, my party was assigned a room with one queen bed in each room. This deviation from my reservation was highly inconvenient and not acceptable. I would like an explanation for this discrepancy and a resolution to ensure that such errors do not occur in the future. Lastly, I must express my disappointment with the overall condition of the rooms. All the assigned rooms had a strong cigarette smell, which was very unpleasant and violated the hotel's policy of maintaining a smoke-free environment. Additionally, the bathrooms in all the rooms were unclean, which further compounded our dissatisfaction. We had expected a high standard of cleanliness and comfort from a renowned hotel chain like Marriott. I kindly request that you thoroughly investigate these matters and take appropriate action to rectify the situation. I believe it is crucial to address these issues promptly to maintain the reputation of the Hong Kong Renaissance Hotel and ensure the satisfaction of future guests. I would appreciate a timely response regarding the status of my deposit refund, an explanation for the room assignment error, and a plan of action to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future. I trust that Marriott values its customers and strives to provide exceptional service.

Rated 1 star for the hotel location and the view (was upgraded to harbour view as a Marriott Bonvoy member). We have originally booked for 4 nights from 13 - 17 May 2023, decided to check out and move to another Marriott property after 2 nights. Room is definitely in need of a major overhaul. Upon entering the room, we are welcomed by a musky smell, doesn't help with a purifier in the room. Inhouse phone is dusty and sticky when held, same goes for the hairdryer - I have to use wet wipes to wipe them down. The worst is the mattress and pillows - mattress is soft and sinks down, pillows are just as soft and though we requested for firmer pillows but it didn't help at all. We had such bad sleep that we have to find another hotel to move out which is the first time ever in our travel. For the rates that we paid per night, we definitely can get a much more comfortable room elsewhere in HKG.

For many years a very good hotel. The location right next to the exhibition is perfect for visits of the fair, close to the Station and lots of entertainment around. Breakfast is great. Special is the team of super friendly and helpful bellboys.

Loved my stay here at the Renaissance! The hotel is very nice and the location is great. Very close to the ferry terminal and subway station to get where ever you want to go. Room was comfortable and clean. Excellent service everywhere. The lounge and the breakfast were both very nice. The pool area was also awesome. Not complaints. Would definitely stay here again next time I am in Hong Kong!

Great Hotel in the heart of Hong Kong, with exceptional value for money. What makes it an experience to remember, is the staff! From the reception staff, to the room service and the housekeeping as well as the pool and bar staff, they are well-trained, focused to make our stay very pleasant. And we will definitely stay at Renaissance Hong Kong Harbor View Hotel again when in Hong Kong. My suggestion: to top it up, consider harbor view when booking.

This is our second time spending a night in Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong. We chose this hotel again as the staff here gave us such a welcoming and satisfying experience. We’re here this time to celebrate our wedding. We’re so surprised for the delightful hospitality received from the staff, especially the loyalty supervisor Kay Cheung, who greeted us with such a warm heart and sweet smile. She is not only professional and efficient but also went out of her way to make us feel valued as a guest. Her attention to detail and willingness to assist with any inquiries or requests was remarkable. Whatever difficulties we had encountered, she truly spared no effort to solve them and created enjoyable memories of the hotel for us. I have to say, from the moment I arrived until the time of my departure, every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. Furthermore, we enjoyed buffet dinner with a number of guests at Café Renaissance. The staff Alison provided us helpful assistance to create a pleasant dining experience for our guests. And I must say that the quality of the food surpassed our expectations. It was evident that each staff we encountered was dedicated to creating a memorable experience for guests, and their positive attitudes and professionalism truly set this hotel apart. Overall, our stay at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional, and we would highly recommend it to anyone seeking outstanding service and enjoyable stay.

No fuss and simple hotel. It’s pretty worn out and my bathroom flooded on the second night, but they were quick to do some damage control. Lack of strategically located power plugs (I.e. near the room or by the table). They could really do with a pillow menu too. Pillows provided are way too soft and I had to stack up a few for neck support. I slept really well here though so I’m pretty happy overall :)

Fantastic location, super helpful and friendly service, big room with marvelous view. Be prepared for high humidity. The breakfast on M floor is really with big variety of different food but around 8-9am takes long to have an elevator from the room to the breakfast or reception.

Well run hotel with great amenities, sufficient supply of bottled water and very stable wifi. Easy walking bridge accesses to Wan Chai neighborhood and ferry. Baby friendly room design (provides bed rails and/or crib upon request).

It's a nice hotel. The rooms to the harbor side offer full harbor views, great. Firstly, all staff is very friendly and kids friendly. That was great to see. However, from the environment, it might be more suitable for business people than for families. Having said that, there is a shared outdoor playground, a shared outdoor pool with the Hyatt and for that weekend there was some electric car area setup as well. The playground got extremely crowded at some times and during the stay of two nights we didn't manage to use the pool as you need to get a ticket starting 30min before each session due to the limited capacity due to the pandemic. However, we made it on place 5 of the waiting list once. Another time we were told people started to queue more than 1h before the ticket distribution time. I think that overall concept is questionable when guests have to spend such amounts if time just to get a ticket. A part from that, the breakfast had on Sunday larger waiting time, but a least we managed to get in in the end and were able to finish without being in a rush. Another point about the restaurants. The Mirage and the Dynasty are both great. Food is very tasty and service is excellent as well. Overall, if you setup your own program with kids, not only relying on hotel facilities, then it's a good option to stay. Also for business people it looks very suitable. Last point is about the sports facilities. The gym is very well equipped. There are also two tennis courts. You may book them 7 days in advance through the hotel to have a court available for your stay. The courts are shared resources. You can also book rackets. The court and rackets are to be paid extra (not free of charge).

I got a musty room, and the table was dusty when I checked in. This room disappointed me as I have nasal rhinitis. Glad that the hotel arranged another clean one and I would move in three hours later. The front desk was helpful and friendly.

One of the most professional and helpful concierge I have ever spoken to. Samuel Tsang was the main concierge to help me with my problem with a quick and efficient solution. He was very courteous and even notified me of any upcoming promotions Renaissance was having at the moment. He went above and beyond which really made me enjoy my time with Renaissance. Because of him, I am planning to rebook a staycation with my BF again in the future!

Excellent long stay hotel It’s a great hotel, great location, great facilities, excellent concierge service, great house keeping service, great Victoria harbour view, great Chinese restaurant Dynasty, great value for long stay (over 30 days), etc…. The down side is the building sites surrounding the hotel but that’s nothing the hotel can do… Try to get to a higher floor to reduce the noise… The front desk is slow and lack of accuracy when dealing with billing… So you need some patience on that…

Do Not choose the hotel for your critical trips. Mine quarantine package (1 suite room) booking gets canceled 3 days after receiving confirmation email and SMS. I’m traveling in Aug 2022 to HK and booked a 7-day quarantine package online. I strictly followed the booking procedure and provided credit card information. The credit card is accepted and I received both email confirmation and SMS. The booking site told me the prepayment is being made. For the next day, I actually called the hotel to check about the booking, everything seems to be fine at this point. 3 days later I was told the booking is get canceled, only via email. I called customer service, they told me it was because I missed a payment confirmation email....Yea they did send me such an email, like 1 day after the confirmation email, but sorry I think not many people will still pay attention to a hotel’s email after they have provided credit info, received the confirmation, and thought the process has been completed. It was completely not expected. Initially, I thought I probably overlooked some critical information, but I checked through every single word on the booking website and the confirmation email/SMS, no mentions on another payment confirmation email need to be expected. Also, there are many chances they could call or maybe just send me an SMS for the reminder, but they didn’t. Even during my call to the hotel the next day of booking, they mentioned nothing about this payment confirmation email. And the worst part is, in the end, they just secretly canceled the booking and only bother to inform me via email. Again, tot even bothers to SMS. It could have gone to the spam folder, I could have missed the email, then what, I landed in HK without a legal stay for quarantine? I tried to call customer service many times, and they keep handing me over to different service teams. Throughout the process, I am not sure if they are logistically incapable or if they are just being misleading on purpose.

First room we stayed. The shower has a leak. 5 mins of shower in exchange for a pool of water everywhere. The staff were nice enough to change to a better room for us. Due to Covid, everyone had to bid online to use the swimming pool. My family tried from the moment we checked in until the next day morning, still cannot make any bookings. We talked to the staff, but there's nothing they can do. I suggest they should scrap the system. I was hoping to swim and play with my son in the summer, obviously this is not gonna happen.

Great services and fantastic view. Paid extra for the yoga mat and resistance band. I read about the plastic cutlery but it’s not a issue for me. I have phone them for my different requests and they are very patient with me. It’s on the pricier side among all the quarantine options but it’s worth it. A few small things that’s not so nice: I had an injury before coming so I need some bandages. But they don’t have proper first aid kit, but only have small finger size bandages; the way they knock the door gives me a heart attach every time, I requested to ring the bell.

Didnt really understand why people give 1 star for the quarantine booking Food was top notch and very on time, portion was great you do not need to order any additional delivery. People questioning about the customer service was dumb, remember you are in quarantine and they wont come to you, everything you need just do it by qr code. Remember check your emails and follow the instructions, including setting up the meal plan, plan your arriving time etc. It helps you save time and avoid confusions.

Worst experience ever made, we spent our quarantine week in this hotel, zero assistance, nobody answers in the reception, horrible meals different from the written Menù they send. Missed a bed in the room, one of us slept on the floor without a mattress. Don't go in this place.

Stayed for quarantine. This hotel is shockingly terrible. Called for service and front desk on several occasions and waited 30 mins before someone answers. If you have an emergency you are in a lot of trouble. No one to help you. Please avoid this hotel at all cost. The government should not allow such irresponsibly managed hotel on the quarantine list where service and help from hotel staff is critical as one cannot leave their rooms. Lives are dependent on the hotel staff helping guest here. The management should themselves stay in these rooms and they will realized how horrible their service is. If the government is reading this, please take action before something terrible happens. These people are not fit to run a hotel. Let alone a quarantine hotel. Beware potential guest. You have been warned.

We had a 5-star experience at the lovely Renaissance Hotel in Wan Chai. The hotel staff were friendly and they were able to help us with early check-in. The room was clean and we had a beautiful view of the harbour. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely come back.

An excellent hotel I would recommend to everybody. A great location close to harbour and Metro station. I had a nice, quiet and clean room, with a breathtaking harbour view. Hotel concierge was very helpful in planning our tour through Hong Kong. What is very important, whole personnel spoke very good English. The Menager on a duty at the reception desk presented high level of the culture and was very helpful during check in. Very High-quality service. I would like to go back there.

Cafe Renaissance on Mezzanine fl. is spacious and clean. Staffs are courteous and friendly. Food variety is somewhat limited, especially the hot dishes. No complaint from HK$300+ that gives good price performance.
