Really fantastic porridge, super smooth and tasty! You must get a table first before ordering, and there are several English menus for you to refer to. We love the porridge and also the fried dough stick with the steamed rice roll. Highly recommended!!

My friend took me to this place and said that it’s a very famous place. I order the fish belly congee魚腩粥, and the Chinese donuts with rice noddle roll, 炸兩. I really like this one, because the donut has to be crispy to meet my standard. It’s great. My friend tried the raw fish skin with ginger and onion, he said it’s very good, but I m not really a big fan of Chinese raw fish!😂 Congee is good.

There are so many positive comments of Mui Kee Congee at the cooked food centre of Fa Yuen Street Municipal Service Centre. Mui Kee's popular dishes are grass fish and pork offal in congee. Tried porridge of fish belly and bladder, fish head and pig's intestine. Mui Kee used traditional cooking method by quick frying the fish first. The congee is very yummy and sweet. The fish and bladder were also delicious. Must try. However, if you are MSG sensitive, please be cautious and cause you drowsy after the meal. Also tried steamed flour rolls with minced beef and pickled mustard roots. Freshly prepared. Yummy. Chinese Churros are very well prepared, no oil, crunchy and fresh. It is even better than fish congee.

This place is special. The Congee base has an unique taste to it. The ingredients are fresh. The Congee is smooth and silky. Lots of seating space. Spring time is cool and breezy here. Price is a little high for this kind of eatery. Other sides and drinks could be order from the store. A good place for Congee.

Added fish belly to my pigs organ Congee. Very good! More on the watery side. But very tasty and ingredients are fresh. Fish belly & liver is super good! The fried you tiao are super crispy. Goes well with the watery Congee and We ordered another serving..The fish skin is 爽口,not bad..their Congee is Definitely better than SG branch. Beef cheong fun is silky smooth as usual and has my fav szechuan Preserved vege inside too! Nice breakfast place to visit in Hkg! It is just situated in their "hawker centre".

Love the congee. It has a unique wokhei from the reboiling. Even the youtiao has the charred flavour I don’t know how to explain. So good. Only downside is the congee is def high in MSG, quite thirsty after eating.

Still the best price and best authentic congee (正宗生滾粥) place in HongKong. Over the years I keep coming back whenever I am in Hong Kong. Their ingredients are so fresh that you could pick any kind of meat to go with your congee. This time I had fish belly+ pork meatball+ pork liver congee for only $58. All the meats were 10 out ot 10 from the taste and freshness, but I found the congee was not as good as it used to be.?? Rice noodle rolls (腸粉$17)& Fresh cold Fish Skin(爽魚皮$30) were excellent too. Sadly there is not many authentic congee place left anymore. I highly recommended Mui Kee for the authentic congee lovers if you don't mind eating on the table that is wrapped with white plastic on .

It used to be one the best & longest history congee restaurants in Hong Kong. It’s located in a covered food market where one can still feel such a mass market delicacy. It’s known for congee made to orders & fish belly congees. Fish was fresh & tasted good after it’s pan-fried a bit. Congee base was sweet & smooth but not sticky of which the texture was just good. Trace of MSG was not strong. Re-visited it today but was fairly disappointed as fish bladder was NOT FRESH, fish belly was ok but meat portion was a lot less than before. Seemed more MSG than before.

They do congee and that is what they do quite well. They have a good selection of ingredients and you can add more if you want for 7 dollars extra. Also worth trying is the century eggs with marinated ginger. The venue is also worth exploring so come early to eat and then look around and maybe buy your vegetables in the wet-market.

A typical food court style breakfast same as Singapore with people queuing. Rating is based on Singapore experience, some people might not like the market experience where washing of plates & others are just in-front of the store. The store should be doing well as they have taken 2 units no. 11 & 12. Food wise, A bit salty, overall not that bad for a simple breakfast. Century eggs & lean Park congee 41 HKG with a crispy dough fritters wrap with rice roll (I think)

Located on the 4th floor of the fresh market. Congee was nice, freshly made one by one. The Chinese dough was crispy, unlike other congee restaurants. Lots of people recommend the fish belly but I tried and thought it was just so so.

We gave the pork with century egg congee a shot, and it was just okay, nothing extraordinary. The serving size could easily feed two. On the flip side, the pork rice rolls were quite tasty. This joint is more of a food hall with loads of other food options/stalls, making it quite spacious. Unfortunately, the table we snagged wasn't cleaned properly. Still, all in all, it was a pretty good experience!

Old style porridge right in their food centre...very delicious and was loaded with ingredients. Tried their pork liver, century egg, pork meat and intestine with an additional egg. Very good quality and tender. Fried dough is crispy as well.

We tried many items on the menu as the Hong Kong main branch has a more extensive selection as compared to the two branches in Singapore which we frequent. As this outlet is located on the third floor of a food centre the prices are rather reasonable (about $50 HKD for a bowl of congee on average, though it depends on what condiments you select) The food is quite good but must say that I would have preferred the portions to be a little more generous. Tip: Do order the rice rolls (肠粉) with crispy dough fritters. Mui Kee does it very well compared to many of the other establishments - soft on the outside and crispy light dough fritters on inside. You can give the the fish skin a skip - its not up to mark in my opinion as the fish skin, though intended to be springy, can be tough for some. It would be better if the fish skin had been julienned into thin strips (maybe the owner can consider this variation). The stall was manned by 2nd and 3rd generation owners who were very friendly and helpful as well.

All the Ingredients are fresh. Porridge is smooth and watery, and some maybe over salty. Can side order Fried doughsticks or fish skin if you want some crunch.

You shouldn’t miss this, the best congee in Hong Kong ❤️ as a local, congee is just the common food we would put in our dining table, but this one is really stunning because the congee is cooked with rare handmade copper-pot, it makes the congee base a bit grilled-smell yet sticky tender, perfect match with fresh fish belly!

Delicious way to start the day. Got the fish belly congee and added in the century egg (which is a must in any congee!) with a side of you tiou (crispy dough fritters - also a must for congee!). Every bite was a joy. I’ve never had fish belly congee before but it was lovely and tender plus they must char the fish belly a little because there was the most delicious smokiness.

Fresh fried dough was great, pork liver and heart finger is outstanding. Must come again. Order at the counter and paid first. Enjoy! 2nd time Fun roll smooth, order beef and spicy pickle or plain Must order fishbelly and meatball congee

If you love HK congee, this is a place you cannot missed! We visit here every time we are back in HK and never once been disappointed.

The congee is so smooth and delicious. They also provide a menu in english. Still, the ambiance is not good, there were mice running around.

Their homemade pork balls are awesome. Porridge is just slightly watery but still it taste good! Ingredients used such as pork liver and fish belly are super fresh. Love their yao zhar kuai too! Best perfect match with their porridge. You can try their fish skin with finger+scallions as well as the century eggs with pickled ginger. Authentic.

My most favourite fish congee! The porridges texture is different from other congee restaurant. Not so thick. Here is more broth. Fish is so fresh.

The fried dough fritters are one of the best I’ve had. Airy, fluffy middle with crispy skin is perfect to dunk into the congee. I got the beef congee and the sliced beef were fresh! Perfect to keep you warm on a cool winter morning in Hong Kong

Breakfast at Mui Kee. The congee (porridge) is very smooth. Ordered the beef, pork balls and pork liver congee. The beef is the star as it was very tender. The dough fritters (油条) soaked in the porridge was delicious. Really must go. However, this is in a no frills place (very similar to any Singapore hawker center). But the food is really really worth the visit. Congee is always my comfort food.

On the third floor this place is open early and closes at 2:00pm according to the sign at the market. Mui Kee has a sign saying it closes at 3:00pm so I’m not sure. They have English on the menu 👍. The congee comes out piping hot and their version is definitely one of the better congees I’ve had since arriving here in Hong Kong. If you’re near Mong Kok it’s worth trying.. Pricing is very reasonable.

Local, fluffy and delicious congee. Their yau ja gwai (fried dough stick) is super light and not greasy at all. We always get the beef and mustard greens cheung fun too, it's got a great texture - soft with a little chew.

Tried it after seeing a recommendation. Taste is good, I like the taste of the soup/congee base. And the fish tasted great as well. First time to order Fish belly instead of sliced fish at a congee shop. I read about wok hei in their congee, and I could really tasted it. If you're willing to pay extra, then come here, cause price is higher than normal congee shop. But for me, other congee shop will suffice. One thing to point out, I don't like the excessive use of plastic here, even the need to line a disposable plastic table cloth on each table.
