Highly recommending people to choose other hotels rather than this one. Despite the meal provided is terrible (small portion and cold) , the room is old and not being cleaned properly. The worst thing about this hotel is the staff and their customer service. You can only order food delivery within certain time frame (10-12/14-16/19-21) which is already unreasonable. Food delivery takes more than 60minutes before being sent to the room. The staff is not willing to help and always find the ridiculous excuses to justify themselves for the slow service. For example, they have to clean the lobby before send the delivery up, there’s some people check in in your floor so we have to clean the corridor (which there’s no people outside all the time), staff is busy because need to handle the check in customer (which we saw 3 staffs were in the corridor and chit chatting before) etc. The time during hotel quarantine is already tough and they just make the customers’ life more difficult. It’s not asking them to do any rocket science to make the stay a little bit easier but just deliver the food. Stop treating people like idiots but just do your job properly. We have stayed in many hotels for the quarantine, even the Ramada (well known for not good in general) is still better than them. At least Ramada staff are friendly and helpful and bring the delivery up within 20 mins. Once again ,highly recommending people to choose other hotels rather than this one.

Stayed 7 days quarantine. Five stars for: 1) value for money. Can’t complain even when the room is dated and need refurbishment 2) prompt customer service and responsive. For instance, I ordered veggie meals first and is given one-off option to change to normal diet. They sent meals twice when they know they delivered a wrong meal. Room service and delivery come within 30mins. 3) food quality is better than expected 4) tons of food delivery nearby if the hotel food cannot satisfy your taste buds. 5) spacious room. 6) online streaming is generally smooth Though this is a standard room which does not have an open view and dated, again can’t complain given this reasonable price, spacious room, fair food quality and prompt service! Note: No baggage keeping on checkout @9am.

I stayed at this hotel in early March 2023, for 12 nights, at a friend’s recommendation. During this period, the hotel was undergoing major renovation, resulting in all in-house restaurants were closed, except for the bar. Upon check-out at noon, there was no luggage storage service available. My flight out was 9pm, I had to make special arrangements with friend to store my two pieces of luggage for several hours. And I was charged HK$7 for a local phone call, in a city that offers free phone service. The hotel is located far away from the nearest MTR station. There were at least 8 vacant rooms near my room.

Hotel staffs are rude. They knock at the door with a horrible manner. I had nose allergy from the bed sheets. Food is fine but doesn’t have drinks with every meal. Wifi is terrible. Hygiene is not great. Television has no internet. AC is cold and turns on and off time to time. Deliveries were only allowed during specific times. Even my friends who got food for me from outside said staffs were rude. Not a good choice for quarantine.

Stayed for 3 nights. The front desk staffs were extremely rude. Wanted to ask about hotel amenities using the room line but no one picked up the call. So I went down myself to ask, and I was told “I am working alone here. How do you expect me to answer with all the things I need to do here” in a rude tone. He then walked away from the conversation into the back room, leaving the front desk unmanned. Socket is built into the desk and has almost no space from the desk itself. Good luck to you if you want to plug in a 3 pin plug, you might have to charge your device at the corner of the room. Although the price is cheaper for this location, I do not recommend anyone to stay here.

Checked in yesterday, booked it based on past stay years ago and didn't bother looking at reviews until after booking (which was non refundable) still going to be here for 10 days. I was so stressed over all the bad reviews but I was pleasantly surprised, reception staff are helpful and rectify problems quickly. Our room though old, is clean enough for my kids, the size of the beds and room are super generous. Only gripe is the lack of hand towels!? You guys want us to use tissues over hand towels? Location is exactly what I remembered...close to basketball courts so kids can train while we're on holidays. Can't complain, MTR is a bonus for us, last time it was buses all the way. Also I possibly read in another review complaining about the smell of cigarettes, true for us (level 5) but I came prepared with air freshners. Let's be real this hotel is reasonably priced & in a decent location, for my use specifically we wanted to be near ball courts so we definitely will be back again. No ripped walls or blood stains or bed bugs with our stay....so far...;)

Pros: Booked 2 rooms for quarantine for a family of 3, requested connecting rooms and got them. Check in and check out was quick. Sufficient bedroom and bathroom space - bigger than we expected which was good. Coffee/tea/bottled water was more than we needed. Beds comfortable and clean. Rooms were well lit. Outside delivery were promptly brought to our room within a few minutes. Hotel meals delivery was always on time based on the meal delivery schedule. Requests (like ice) was promptly delivered. Kettle, mini fridge, hair dryer were provided. Staff were responsive each time we called the operator/front desk. Cons: Room cleanliness could be improved (glass and mirror fixtures had large watermarks) Internet had occasional interruptions/slow speed. Others: This is an old hotel and we knew it when making the reservation. It can do with a makeover to improve its appearance. The views from our windows were somewhat obscured - there are 2 layers of glass (soundproofing as this was an airport hotel decades ago?) - due to grime and condensation in between the glass panels.

Bit far from MTR station. Taxi stand is right outside the hotel is a plus. No restaurants within hotel due to renovation. You will find lot of thai restaurants around this hotel.

You get what you pay for. We got rooms for $444HKD a night so you're only allowed rooms on the lower levels that are older. The place is old and had one pool of rust in the bathroom but it was large and generally clean. The location is so great so with the price I pay, there is no complaint. Wifi was really bad though. Can you fix that please?

If you want clean & good value for money - you really can't go wrong staying here. Rooms cleaned and towels changed daily with water & tea/coffee suplies replenished too. 10 min walk to MTR via some interesting streets & shops. We used this hotel as a base for our 5 night stay and were not disappointed. Thank you.

Outside look old but inside new, I think there have been refurbished indoor interiors. A bit far for underground transport but is close to bus station, overall not a bad location. BTW, nearby have recreational park that had a very old history building on Hong-Kong

Stayed here in 2019 and it was wonderful so we decided to stay here again this time but the quality seemed to have worsened. The rooms we got this time were a lot more disappointing than before. Appeared more run down where paint on the walls were chipping and furniture was worn out. Windows are tinted so you can’t look outside. Sheets had some stains on them. The shower was weird. There is only one glass panel so when you shower water gets everywhere else in the bathroom. On the first night the water was cold so we called to the front desk. Turns out their water boiler was off? But they fixed it immediately. The wifi was so spotty we just couldn’t use it at all. Also the TV kept buffering and would oftentimes mute itself. Couldn’t watch anything. This happened in both of the rooms we occupied. It was pretty annoying. The lady that would come clean our room was pleasant but front desk wasn’t too helpful when we had questions. I don’t know if I would come back. If you’re looking for convenience this hotel is near plenty of public transportation, shops and restaurants but if you want to be comfortable I would opt for another place to lodge.

Stayed in this hotel in April and it was decent, pretty good for my needs. As other guests mentioned this is an older hotel so it’s not as fancy as newer hotel, but room definitely more spacious than newer hotel and it’s quite rare in Hong Kong. Hotel room was clean and good enough for us. They have self-serve laundry room so you can pack lightly and just do laundry there, I like this a lot. Near the hotel there are a lot of restaurants and stores so this is very convenient for travelers. Front desk - my experience with them were good, I do have to mention that Eric was very helpful and he helped me when I need to delay my check out and with my wifi issue. But I did have not so pleasant experience with the female front desk she wasn’t helpful and not willing to help.

This hotel was part of a deal so we did not book it directly , but we were very happy with it. As a base for sleeping , which is what we used it for, the location was great, just a short walk to the station. We used the local restaurants for breakfast and some evening meals so did not try the catering in the hotel. The rooms were clean and functional ( if looking a little tatty and dated in places ) and the shower was lovely to ease our aching bodies after a day of sightseeing.

Stayed here during the quarantine a few years ago it was a good experience. Also stayed here again recently and the rooms seemed to have gotten worse. Standard rooms only have one socket and the temperature control isn't great. It's quite cold. On a positive we got an upgrade to 14th floor. The rooms are hugely better and worth the extra cost. The staff here are quite friendly and great. Transport here by bus is quite good.

Alright location but not a great hotel. Staff are condescending and unfriendly. They did not honour a regal voucher they had issued us! Rooms are in an old, worn out condition and were not clean when we moved in. Hairs on floor & mirror, stained & torn sheets. AC is very dusty and inconsistent. Wifi gets quite slow in evening. Housekeeping forgot to give us towels once but they were much kinder than the reception.

I'd have given it a 4 Star, but unfortunately all the restaurants in the hotel are closed! The cleaning lady is very helpful and friendly. The room is bigger than the newer modern hotels. So it's 2 Queensize beds and a good size bathroom. Near to bus stops, but takes about 45 mins to go to Causeway Bay shopping areas. Good WiFi in room.

The worst experiences, no left luggage service even if you will come back one day after, no check out later but you must wait for the room till 15:00 in lobby when you check in, yes, they are all right but no temperature. oh, I forgot to mention the lobby doesn’t offer bathroom. Imaging you along with some big luggages waiting for room and want to use the bathroom…

Absolutely rubbish 4* hotel and absolutely rubbish service! We were staying for a long time, all we asked was to exchange beddings for Tuesday (few days in advance) at first reception didn’t understand English so needed to translate what is “bedding,” but as punishment for this “request” hotel till our check out one week later didn’t change any towels, didn’t empty bins, didn’t give complementary water, didn’t add toilet paper, there is no toilet brush nothing. Just for this one request such punishment? Not to mention that their in-room fridge not working at all, hotel offered us ice, but that’s not good enough for dairy. Location is not good either- you must walk minimum of 15 minutes for MTR which is every 7 minutes and it’s very likely you’ll need to change this MTR for another line unless you really need these unpopular stops, so prepare for walking & walking. It’s also constantly cold in our room- I immediately put maximum setting of 30C and it’s around 17C for all our stay. Maybe HK summertime this fits better but not now! There’s also a massive I mean massive A/C in the corridor on your way to your room blowing arctic 🥶 air at massive power. I had to run past it to avoid getting cold & sick. when you take shower there’s no shower curtain. That glass is only half way so you’ll still get your floor and slippers wet! hotel feels old and “tired.” All windows are locked permanently you can’t open any windows or access balcony. Wi-Fi is really slow and unstable. It’s good for browsing but forget watching any videos. For comparison we stayed in Macau hotels- Wi-Fi is literally everywhere and super high speed, in-room fridge was super cold everything was awesome. But not here. As a long stayers we asked for late check-out which was denied. They’re rubbish this hotel!!

A good deal overall, around $50-60 for a room with a double bed and reasonable size. I commend the staff here, they worked with me to get booked in a new room just after my old one had thermostat issues. The location was mixed: easy access to kowloon city, and in turn the buses that service it. The MTR was a bit of a longer walk than ideal.

Did my quarantine in June 2022. Bad service here. Poor food quality (but you are "forced" to accept the quality). The reception has no empathy to COVID +VE patients and I am forced to pay an extra night because relevant authority doesn't release me. Highly not recommended.

The room is very cold and there is no way of turning the aircon down. All the restaurants in the hotel are closed.

We stayed in this Kowloon City Hotel for over three weeks. The housekeeper Miss Annie Au Yeung was very friendly and efficient. Not only she tidied and cleaned up our room properly, she always had a big smile on her face. Job well done and keep up your good work, Annie.

Not sure why this hotel has such a low score. Did my quarantine here. The room was big with big window. Didn't really need to ask for something, can't comment on 'special requests' However, have to agree one thing is particularly bad - limited time slot for room deliveries. Bad for people with jetlag. I've ordered a fresh juices to do a body cleanse. Those were delivered at 9am but it took almost 2h to have it delivered to my room, absolutely unacceptable. Also, I've had my quarantine shortened, but there was a lack of information what I'm supposed to do. Called a reception and was told they have to wait for the government to tell them I'm free to go. I was told they will call me with new info. Nobody did that, I've called them again and someone else told me 'of course I'm free to go'. Very chaotic. Anyway, for 1k a night it was a good choice, considering three meals a day (way better compared to the Regal @ airport).

This review refers to my 3 day quarantine experience in September of 2022. Regal orient hotel has long been a quarantine hotel since the start of the pandemic back in 2020, it's in operation and high demand ever since. It was always hard to secure a room since it's reasonably priced with spacious room. Since the start of 3 days quarantine, it became much easier to book. I arrived here on a designated quarantine approved self paid taxi. I was welcome by the staffs who helped me with my luggage. Check in was a breeze and pleasant. At 7pm, they even reserved that day's dinner for me. I got a dekuxe5room with king bed. I was happy with the size of the room, the comfortable bed, good clean working bathroom, reliable free Wi-Fi. Deliveries are allowed from 8am to 10pm. 3 large bottle of water, tea and coffee, garbage bags etc are provided, and more than enough for 3 days. Very soon Hong Kong will reopen completely and no more hotel quarantine, I guess this hotel will need to find new ways to keep the business going.

Rooms are spacious but need lots of maintenance. Food was downright awful and staff also ignored our requests. Plastic on pillows was a major annoyance during the night and WiFi was poor. Edit: The amount of plastic waste generated could fill a landfill. Meals were served in plastic bags and containers and plastic cutlery was given every meal. Regal Oriental couldn't even go to the bare minimum and supply paper bags instead. Staff gave cutlery and meals even when specifically told not to

Check-in and check-out procedures were very efficient. Staff were responsive to our needs. The room was clean and quiet. We enjoyed our stay so much that my daughter would not mind staying there for another 4 days.

It was a grand hotel according to standard 30 years ago. If you are a Hongkie, you know this hotel is value for money for the space you get. You will not get 5 star service, the place need some patch up. If your expectations are high, other hotel are better option. Stayed here for 7 days, no complain.

  • 4/5 Dalia U. 1 year ago on Google
We stayed in the hotel to do mandatory quarantine after entering HK. We enjoyed the size the room, which accommodated two queen beds and had a large window sill that was pleasant to sit on. The beds were conformable, and the blankets were soft. There was also enough space for a yoga mat in the entry way. When we ordered food, it was delivered to our door by the staff very quickly. It was a comfortable stay overall.

Rooms are spacious, clean and tidy. Food was good and delivered on time. Meals are prepared in-house now and not out sourced, so quality has improved. Wifi speed is acceptable. Staff was courteous and service was efficient. Overall a good stay.

Guest stayed there for government mandatory quarantine in July 2022. The room was spacious and clean with a newly refurbished and modern design. Food provided was unexpectedly good and all meals were still warm when served. Speedy delivery of takeaways which all of my deliveries were sent to me within/in 30 mins. No complains for the bathroom and toilet. Wifi was a bit slow but acceptable. AC was slightly too cold so it was turned off from time to time. Staff was nice and helpful. In general, it was a happy stay, thanks!

Spent a pleasant quarantine at Regal Oriental. Front desk services were prompt and food delivery was speedy. Foods provided by the hotel were pretty good, especially the Chinese cuisine. The room was clean and equipped with all necessities but the AC was too cold. But overall, I’m satisfied with their services :)
