SoHo stands for South of Hollywood Road. So, you reach this place/ neighbourhood by alighting at the Hong Kong Central MTR Station and taking the D2 exit. Asking people for SoHo doesn't always help. People are blatantly unaware of the existence of such a place. Asking for Hollywood Road would help. The place is quirky and certain walls are covered with graffiti against which amazing pics can be clicked. The place is also lined with variety of shops......but this neighborhood is famous for the sheer density of cafes, beer bars and eateries it houses.

The Soho district of Hong Kong is indeed a vibrant and popular area, known for its lively nightlife and daytime markets. Located in the Central district of Hong Kong Island, Soho (short for "South of Hollywood Road") offers a unique blend of entertainment, dining and shopping. Here's what to expect: Nightlife: With numerous bars, clubs and restaurants catering to all tastes. Whether you're looking for trendy cocktail lounges, live music venues or lively sports bars, Soho has something for everyone. Lan Kwai Fong, a neighboring area, is particularly famous for its vibrant nightlife and is within walking distance of Soho. Daytime markets: During the day, you can explore the various markets near Soho to indulge in shopping and local culture. The Central-Mid-Levels Escalator, the world's longest outdoor covered escalator system, connects Soho to the bustling street markets of Graham Street and Gage Street. These markets offer a wide range of fresh produce, local delicacies, clothing, accessories and household items. In addition, nearby Hollywood Road is famous for its antique shops, art galleries and curio shops. Here you can find a range of unique items including Chinese artifacts, vintage furniture and contemporary art pieces.

This was a great area for sightseeing and taking a walk. There are an amazing assortment of restaurants and stores along the way. We ate at a little hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant that was absolutely awesome.

Not the same like a decade before, and even only a fade copy of the years before pandemic. China tries it best to kill Hong kong, and the 3 years of horrible pandemic rules gave the rest. You have still some nice restaurants and bars here, and it is still a good place to meet... but it is not a little bit like 5 or 10 years before. Everything is feeling like waiting for the final end. And China will do. There are more little houses are demolished to build sky scrappers no one needs anymore, because the best times of Hong Kong and also the best times of Soho are past. Maybe you should visit before complete end, but maybe no need anymore. Imagine a dying riff in the ocean. There are still some Corrals, there are still some nice fishes... but the brilliance and life is already gone, and the left over know, they need to leave... but can't... that's my feeling here. And still you will use your googles and submerge into and be happy about the things you can sill see.

It's got a great vibe. Pavements are narrow, high and stepped so you often find you're walking in the road but definitely visit for the bars and restaurants. There's an M&S food store there too.

Definitely worth a wander around. Lots to see and all from a moving escalator. Few good spots to stop for a drink, too. And generally a but cheaper than the centre.

This place is either flat, or the incline in unbearable. Is how I'm starting this review. It can be said, this area is party central. Where you will find clubs at each corner, and every other ground floor apartment, this will include drunk people, drunk singing people, and ravers, I think I was the only person who actually walked though the mayhem. After nearly stepping in vomit 3-6 times, I was dragged into clubs, forced into bars, or I was just trying to avoid a stampede of alcoholics trying I find the way to the cheapest shots. But if you like heavvyy bass and cheap liquid, and lots of people. This is the place for you.

Always fun in Soho, i love the escalator from Central heading up Soho. So many food choice, night life is awesome. Note that you will meet a lot of Filipino's working all around HK especially in the FnB businesses. I live in HK for almost 19years...4 months shy. I worked at FnB for a good 6-7yrs... met so many people from all race. Definitely visit Soho, you'll have the best food, authentic and unique food.

Soho has sophisticated crowd as compared to LKF. The restaurants are well known for their food. People are on streets here as well. Seven Eleven is again crowded and people prefer drinking from here. Quieter and up market as compared to LKF. Longest escalators are here. Also just a walk from LKF

Good place to walk and have fun over there. A lot of clubs for drinking and dancing. Good food and variety of food. Many brands are nearby so can easily go for shopping. As it is up hill so there are escalators for going up.

I had a very short time to look around so i hope to go back and see more things. My best part was finding emack and bolio's icecream store. Night time is more beautiful.

As a tourist, this is a nice place if you have extra time to relax. However, you may find some streets are steeper than the other, not really safe when rainy season comes or for those travelling with children.

If you're on Hong Kong island and you're staying overnight, this is a place to visit. Great night life vibe, plenty of restaurants and no shortage of bars and music. Grab a bite from some of the grill shops around and make your way up with stairs crowded with people or even escalators running 24-7. A very small walk from CENTRAL and not more than 30 mins walk from the furthest metro stops.

Good area in Hong Kong overall to go out and chill -whether you prefer that be over good food, drinks or both. Some places here also show sports games, and there are plenty of cuisines represented. Do prepare to spend a bit more, and getting around in the crowd here can be tiring, or nearly impossible if you have mobility restrictions.

The SoHo (Chinese: 蘇豪; also 荷南 and 荷南美食區; formally 中環蘇豪區) district in Hong Kong is an entertainment zone located in Central. It borders Lan Kwai Fong and Sheung Wan districts. The name is derived from its location: South of Hollywood Road. The Central-Mid-Levels escalator was built in 1993; the now vibrant character of SoHo is attributed to the creation of the escalator system, which at the time was the longest escalator system in the world. Prior to the escalator construction, the area was populated by many elderly locals, old go-downs and porcelain shops.

  • 5/5 Alex B. 3 years ago on Google
I absolutely love SoHo. Try the longest escalator system in the world to go up and walk downwards from there and stop so now and then to get a drink at one of the great pubs/cafe's along the way. Great views on people walking or taking the escalator. Side streets are also nice to explore. This area gives a real Hong Kong feeling and also many opportunities to take great pictures. From the residential area on top it is also possible to make great pictures.

  • 5/5 Chin L. 3 years ago on Google
