Unfortunately the aviary is "down" for the count.... It's currently closed for extensive renovation until the end of 2023. But you could still visit the "lesser" bird exhibits there and other attractions like the Tai Chi garden, art museum and the ever so nice tea museum. Or just head over to the Hong Kong zoological and botanical garden next door - literally a small zoo that is free of charge.

Experience birds come fly in front of you up close. Must visit part in Hong Kong Park. These birds are friendly and not afraid of visitors

The aviary is fantastic, and I feel I am on a tropical island and walking on a tree top inside the aviary. I love how we can see the birds closely and enjoy the nature at the same time.

I find this Aviary better than the one in Kowloon park because birds were able to roam in a larger better conditioned area. Although the bird’s variety were not as “exotic”, it was still a really nice walk on the boardwalk. It is a very popular attraction for families with young children. The birds will fly up close to you, so be careful!

It's a great place to see some amazing birds up close. If you are lucky the birds may even come closer to interact with you. Beware though as they may bite you so better keep your hands and fingers to yourself. It is now closed for renovation until at least the end of 2023.

A fun place for kids. Some of the birds are harder to spot than others but it's quite a enjoyable to observe the movements and sounds of birds. No entry fee. A great aviary in the centre of the city. Elevated Pathways and sign boards help us a lot to know about the birds.

A must-go place for bird lovers where they can enjoy a close up view of many species of birds. Just remember to take a camera or mobile phone with decent zoom capability to capture some nice pictures while not disturbing the birds' life.

Under maintenance until December 31st, 2023. But the caged area is still open and the horn bills were cute.

A good place to look at birds up close. Also good for people who like taking photos of birds. It is not a big area and can be done in a short time.

If you have a spare hour and have never been, it's worth the experience. Situated in Hong Kong Park, the Aviary has been open to the public since 1992. The raised platform design gets you nice and close to some of the beautiful birds, whilst on the floor below you, there's always something to look out for. Even if you aren't a bird lover, it's still very cool. Worth a visit.

(Translated by Google) The Hong Kong parks are well maintained and maintained. Entering the park is like being in a tropical rain forest, surrounded by different kinds of birds. It is also a bird paradise. . . Watching the birds fly and eat, suitable for families, couples, traveling alone and having fun. . Wide open spaces, 20M ceiling and 10M above the ground, this aboral walkway is well designed. No need to chase after birds, just pick a spot and wait.

This is a bird lovers paradise. As a kid I loved birds and this transported me back into my 10 year old self. It gave me the same excitement as if I was opening a new packet of Pokemon cards, I wasn't sure what I was gonna to get and having the hopes of getting a shiny. Walking into this aviary gave me that and much more, seeing the birds in an environment that gave them that much freedom and care really allowed me to enjoy the whole experience. There is a nice variety of parrots, ground birds and unique species that are native to HK and imported. Some of the lorrikets are tame enough to come up to you, but they will nip you so be warned. Highly recommend coming here for a visit, especially if you're a bird lover and so surprised that this was free entry as well!

Absolutely love it except the caged birds. They look sad and depressed. But the large enclosure of rainforest was just birder’s paradise. You can see birds up close which usually hide at the top of the canopy.

The aviary has just reopened in time for the new year and it is better than ever! It is definitely a place to go to if you are in the area. The birds in there are very friendly; they are not afraid of humans at all. One bird even understands what a camera is and will literally come over to you if you have a camera pointing at it and start striking poses. It was wonderful and unexpected to have birds fly around you in such a busy city.

Having walked through hordes of mainly Philippine women lining the sidewalks, either selling merchandize, such as pocketbooks or clothes or looking for a bargain on this late Sunday in early November , it was very nice to reach this quiet public park. Its main attraction is the aviary near the center, although there is also a rather complete children's playground, too. It's a bit of a climb to reach the top where the netted area enclosing the aviary begins, but it's worth the short hike up.

  • 5/5 Jochen H. 4 years ago on Google
One of the most beautiful aviaries I've seen anywhere. There are tons of paths and even tree-top walks as well as obviously thousands of birds. Entry is free of charge.

  • 5/5 Zachary R. 4 years ago on Google
Free aviary located in Central district, near Hong Kong Park and Admiralty metro station. Great place to walk around and relax for a 30-60 minutes. Great for kids, couples, or anyone who likes birds or wants to get out of the busy Hong Kong city environment for a little while. Local exotic birds that are use to people and not afraid of a close up photo. A must see for tourists. Who doesn't love a free aviary?

  • 5/5 Péter H. 2 years ago on Google
I just can't have enough of this place. Mostly tropical / sub-tropical birds totally unbothered by human presence. The parrots are especially chill.

The Best place for urban birds photography with lots of different kind of species and very colourful too! Free admission but closes at 5:00 pm so be there early for more enjoyable time and photo opportunities! The aviary is inside Hong Kong Park.

lots of birds in the aviary! never have to spend a lot of time finding each one! you might see them super close range on the walkway if you are lucky!

Nice quiet aviary in the middle of a concrete jungle, but be warned, birds will deposit a nasty little surprise as I found out on a recent visit.

  • 5/5 Andrew L. 3 years ago on Google
Had the time to walk through slowly the other day and it is quite amazing just how many different birds are there. Did not have my DSLR camera with me so the phone had to do. A lovely place away from the hustle and bustle down the hill.

My first time at this place. As soon as you enter the place it feels as if you have entered a whole new world. You come across different species of birds. Some are playful. Some are naughty. And some just don't care 😀 The experience was mesmerising. You just forget about the real world. The noise, pollution and stress just disappears. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves birds. 👍👍👍

A very nice place for visiting the bird's home. There are many kinds of birds which is quite rare to be found in HK.

If you really want to experience a bird park, go to kuala Lumpur bird park, where the birds large and small are roaming everywhere and get really up close and personal. Here in the hk aviary the variety is limited, they are small and the bigger birds (very few anyway) are on the grounds below, only aviary staff can access.
