REALLY ENJOYED my visit here! I'm a really big fan of Bruce Lee, so it was nice to see that the museum keeps his flame alive with all the interesting exhibits about him. Among the other amazing cultural displays, you can see paintings, pieces or porcelain, and an interactive opera exhibit. The exhibitions are updated periodically, so you never know exactly what you will find!

An amazing and free museum charting the arts and crafts of this amazing region. The porcelain was beautiful as are the other early pieces. The interactive displays are different and fun once we were shown how to use them ( a big thank you there to the polite and friendly attendants). The manga and Bruce Lee exhibits were worth it for the trip alone. A great day out and worth the travel on the metro network.

i went there for DunHuang - Enchanting tales for millennium, standard ticket $10 only, if you have museum pass, you can access for free. i followed a tour guide and she have very details illustrations on each sections. If the museum can show the tour guide schedule and organize more tour guide service then it would be great! HKD$10 is very inexperienced price and you can spend a whole afternoon there! excellent exhibition and i have a great time there! thank you LCSD, HKJC!

This place is free but if you're an HK Chinese entertainment fan then it's the place to be. What stood out is Bruce Lee had it's own section/area. Glad I went and it was based on Google searches and the reviews also helped. I was there for almost 3 hours as I took my time looking at the features. There's a cafe in the museum so that helps if you're hungry before or after the museum visit.

This is my favourite museum in Hong Kong. At the moment they have Muse fest and all of exhibitions are free of charge. Regularly they do have other exhibithions free of charge like Bruce Lee exhibition. That one is my favourite. Bruce Lee is best known person from Hong Kong. He left a lot of impact on Martial Arts and Martial Art Films. It is worthwile to chek this litle shrine of Bruce.

Highly recommended. At first I was planning to stay for like an hour or two but I ended up staying for half a day and there so much left to see and do. I say this is probably the best museum in Hong Kong. And the best part is it is FREE. Special exhibition are “pay to enter” though, but it is very decent price like 10-20HK$ I think. It is walking distance from Che Kung Temple and it was a very nice walk. The Hong Kong movie and Bruce Lee exhibition is superbly done.

(Translated by Google) Located in Tai Wai, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum is a comprehensive museum covering history, art and culture. There are 12 exhibition halls in the museum, making it the largest museum in Hong Kong. The museum has a wide range of exhibitions and programmes in permanent and special exhibition halls, and often hosts lectures, theatre programs and guided tours. The Cultural Museum collects various types of cultural relics and artistic creations in Hong Kong and adjacent areas. Historical collections can be roughly classified into local history, performing arts, folk art, and popular culture; while art collections are mainly divided into contemporary art, design, and Chinese art (Chinese paintings and ancient Chinese artifacts).

A very spacious and modern museum. Love the regularly updated new exhibitions. First, I visited the special exhibition: Tsar of All Russia. The treasures loaned from the Moscow Kremlin Museums, Russia are more in quantity, valuable and exquisite than I expected. Moreover the print art exhibition could not be missed either. The paintings were very colourful, interesting and informative. I learnt, in a video, that how print art is produced by different methods and the talented local artists who produced them. I wish I could come and visit the museum earlier in the morning because you are going to spend a good deal of time so as to visit all the galleries. A very nice experience.

想看巨星們如梅艷芳、張國榮和羅文的演唱會服裝嗎? Want to see the last costumes wore by our HK’s pop stars: Anita Mui, Leslie Cheung and Roman Law? and the astonishing and memorable HK films and vivid entertainment industrial history? Then, you should visit this exclusive exhibition and watch some video footages, document , posters, prize stands and related materials. Remarks: Photo-taking is NOT allowed inside the movie exhibition hall due to the copyright issues. Please ask the staffs before any actions. (in my view, the signage of “No photos” should enlarge its size) The museum occasionally cooperates with other museum abroad. They work with Russian Government recently and demonstrate the ritual belongings and military costumes of the Tsar. This kind of cooperatione is eye-opening and benefits all citizens.

The special exhibitions are always amazing. Just try go during weekdays to avoid crowds. If you are a family living in Hong Kong, getting an annual pass at 100 per year is a good deal. Bring your Disney or ocean park annual pass to get 10% off the annual pass. Don’t forget to try the cafe restaurant on g/f when you leave. It will be much less people than going back to the new city plaza where there will be crowds.

The Museum is free of charge and could not give a higher recommendation to give this attraction a visit. Very easy to follow out of Shatin Station and plenty of street signs leading to the building. There are multiple exhibits currently from very traditional Chinese to contemporary art. The Bruce Lee exhibition was definitely the highlight. The museum is very well kept, clean, and abundant of toilet facilities. Free guided tours are available and it was a shame that I didn’t look up the times beforehand for me to watch the Bruce Lee documentary that’s screening twice a day.

Since a lot of museums are closed (due to renovation) during my travels, this is the only museum that was opened and nearby the place I’m going to. I like how curated the exhibits are and they even have some special exhibits that they were preparing when I was there. I don’t know if the Pop Culture Museum will be for a limited time but it was the best thing to introduce Hong Kong media to the tourists and other enthusiasts.I really like it. I’m not a fan of Bruce Lee and I think they focus on that area too much? The only thing I regret was I went there late and I only had an hour to explore the whole museum. Also, please do the QR code surveys and you will get some freebies. I got a document holder with an amazing piece of art in front, a postcard, and a collection of envelopes with several pieces of art as well.

Hidden gem of Hong Kong in the outskirts away from the bustling city. A mostly free museum (even to tourists which is really surprising!) filled with exhibits that are significant to HK’s arts and culture. I really enjoyed my time here and I will surely be back in future!

This is perhaps the most underrated place of interest in HK. It is definitely the best museum in HK, especially if you are into HK movies and pop music in the 80's/90's. The entrance fee is free, unless you want to go to the special exhibitions which are not expensive at all. There are exhibitions on 金庸 (master of Chinese kung fu literature), Bruce Lee, Leslie Cheung, HK pop music culture, Chinese opera, etc. I spent 3 hours there and still feel like I need to go back. Staff are very helpful and are passionate about what they are doing. Highly recommended!

Heritage museum with predominantly Chinese arts. The museum is famous for their exhibitions, at present an Russian Tsar exhibit with displays from the 16th to 18th century. Awesome gallery. Loved the Hong Kong print exhibition too. Great place to go solo or with families.

This museum is my highlight visiting the city. Worth spending your time here. Located at Man Lam Road, you may need to navigate a bit from Sha Tin MTR. A bit secluded to me. You can get a museum pass for only HKD 50 and you will able to access to many museums in Hong Kong. Was lucky to visit the "Miss You Much Leslie Exhibition", "A man beyond ordinary: Bruce Lee" as well as seeing Anita Mui's stage costume is truly amazing. Really appreciate to see the golden days of Chinese opera setup, mock-up and their costume. Maybe someone who can explain this to the visitor would be good. This theatre style opera is vanishing in the modern world and it will be really sad to lost it forever without achieving it. Besides, there is also a hall where they display the life work of Jin Yong (or Dr Louis Cha). This guy has done so much of magic in his work and his stories which hook many of us for so many years. Do not miss his gallery!

One of the top museum in HK I would recommend, so much better than the one at TST. The only problem is that it's in the middle of nowhere, not convenient for bus or mtr either. The good side of too inconvenience is that it's always quite and less people, which people could just take many time they like to appreciate the art. So spacious, so many varieties and well displayed.

My visit after the last Pixar exhibition 3 years ago. Current exhibition is Tsar of all Russia. Well worth a visit. The Hong Kong Print Art Exhibition also interesting. I also enjoy the exhibition on HK movies 🎥 n TV Shows. The exhibits at the TT Tsui Gallery of Chinese Art are also good. Good spot to spend half a day. Especially if u have a museum pass 🤣👍🏻

This museum is worth to pay a visit, not only for the DunHuang exhibits, but also the Bruce Lee stories and Hong Kong 60's. Fans of 金庸 and 趙少昂 should visit their respective exhibition hall as well. An added treasure is the Children's Discovery Gallery on ground floor, where kids can have hands on with the exhibits. Adults will also find it interesting at the heritage toys exhibition hall which brings back their childhood memories.

Came here to see the Dunhuang: Enchanting Tales for Millennium exhibition. It was wonderful seeing the visual replicas. I felt there could have been a more geographical based introduction to the exhibit as there was just an assumption you knew where these special caves were upon entry. They could have had a map pin pointing the world, China, the province and cave location. There was also a Cantonese Popular Culture exhibit that was really worth visiting as someone who has enjoyed Hong Kong action movies from the 1980s and 1990s. The building was clean, spacious, yet it felt rather old fashioned with everything segregated into separate halls with sparse hallways not exhibiting anything.

A great free museum to learn about the contributions of HK actors, artists, poets, singers etc to HK, the region and the world in general. The Bruce Lee exhibition was my main pull factor to go visit and it was just a fun interactive experience from the little clips of movies playing, to seeing his actual clothes and training materials to learning about his entire philosophy when it came to martial arts and life in general. The museum is also in the midst of preparing an exhibit for Leslie (famous singer who sang "Monica") so hopefully that will open up soon too and bring more of HK to the people visiting. While entry is free to all exhibits at this museum I do encourage anyone who wants to explore more of HK to get the HK Museum Pass. As of this post it is $50 HKD and gives you access to about 21 museums. Go check it out!

The Hong Kong Heritage Museum is an excellent attraction to visit in Hong Kong. Despite the crowds, which were likely due to a public holiday, the museum was incredibly spacious and allowed us to explore comfortably. During our visit, we were particularly interested in the Bruce Lee pavilion, which showcased the life and legacy of this iconic martial artist and actor. The exhibit was incredibly detailed and informative, providing a wealth of information on how Bruce Lee rose to fame and became an influential figure in popular culture. It was a fascinating experience that left us with a newfound appreciation for his contributions to the world of martial arts and entertainment. While it was disappointing that photography was not permitted due to copyright reasons, we still thoroughly enjoyed our time at the museum. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with additional information and answering any questions we had. Another great aspect of the Hong Kong Heritage Museum is its proximity to the train station, making it easily accessible for tourists and locals alike. It's an excellent way to spend a day in Hong Kong, learning about the rich cultural history of the city. Overall, I highly recommend the Hong Kong Heritage Museum for anyone looking for an immersive and educational experience in Hong Kong. With its detailed exhibits, knowledgeable staff, and convenient location, it's a must-see attraction for anyone visiting the city.

Nice museum with interesting exhibits. Worth seeing. Only 2 drawbacks: 1) there is not much to eat around there. There's one restaurant but that's it. The restaurant is very nice but it's your only option, and 2) signs everywhere say that no picture-taking is allowed inside the exhibits. You can easily spend half a day there or more.
