People come here usually during Chinese New Year or other traditional festival. In 2019 CNY, as usual, the place was so crowded that there was lines everywhere, in front of toilet, waiting to take selfie, etc. Other than these busy days, it is a relaxing place where could hang around for an hour or two.

A very festive place during the Chinese new year! Numerous people gather around the tree, making wishes while the atmosphere gets all colorful and happily chaotic with hawkers and small stalls selling foods, crafts and souvenirs. Great place to take in the essence of the new year!

Long time not being here, after the real tree was down It's not much more commercial than before, the car park is unreasonable expensive, different expensive package for wishing. Some politian on the stage keep spreading fake news, it's annoying. Now, they are using the plastic tree and reusable toy orange for wishing, I think it's good for the trees. And bus exhibition and special foods at the same place, it's good for visitors.

This place is quite far. No MTR station near the place. The nearest MTR station is Tai Wo station or Tai Po station and you have to take a bus to get here. I have been here for 2-3 times and I used to like the peaceful atmosphere at this place. But my recently visit is not a good memories. The male staff with glasses in the temple is slightly rude unacceptable and have no manner. The peaceful of this place is almost gone.

A meaningful place for local people. It has a big tree that allows people throwing the lucky pack onto it to show the wish that want to come true. There is also a big drum that you have to knock before throwing your wish on the tree as you need to acknowledge the goddess. Beautiful and nice cultural place to go when visiting Hong Kong.

Fascinating experience during Chinese New Year! We were surprised to learn the tree and oranges were not real, but that didn’t take anything away from feeling like we enjoyed an authentic CNY experience.

This is the historic Wishing Tree at the Fong Ma Po village along Lam Kam Road conveniently served by bus route 64K between Tai Po and Yuen Long. The age old tradition of throwing placards and red cards tied to ribbons into the tree ended nearly 20 years ago in order to rehabilitate and preserve the ancient tree. But tradition lives on in the 'Well Wishing' festival held every year around Chinese New Year. These days, the Lam Tsuen Wishing Square behind the old tree and beside the historic Tin Hau Temple are setup for festivities and include several artificial trees which worshippers will travel from all around Hong Kong to partake in the old Wishing Tree traditions. The Tin Hau Temple is also nice to see if you are interested in Chinese temples and Qing Dynasty architecture. It dates back to the late 18th century and is in good condition.

Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree’s pretty meh as an attraction if you’re not into the supposed powers, but the place comes alive for the Lam Tsuen Well Wishing Festival during Chinese New Year. It is an interesting spectacle watching folks toss placards with their wishes tied to mandarin oranges onto the faux wishing tree, while there are also stores selling knickknacks and various performances including lion dances.

This is a country side village at Tai Po. It's famous in making your wish to a BIG tree ! Now it has became a tradition for people to go there to make a wish at the first day of Chinese New Year. Nice to see the museum there.

Came here by driving by 1130 am. Official parking HKD100 for 2 hrs, within walking distance. Quite a bit of crowd already by managable.

Simple tourist attraction. First time here and unfortunately the actual wishing tree was taken down and replace with an artificial one. Nothing much there except there are shops beside that you can enjoy some snack or food.

Not like how it was before. Quite disappointed. We reached before the closing time at about 3plus. But it’s locked. The old tree has fallen, but there seem to be a tree replanted? (Not very sure), but all fenced and locked.

According to legend, anyone's wishes would come true. I visited Lam Tsuen once and found that it was small. But yesterday, I found it very popular with tourists, families, and friends. I'm so happy to be back here again, and this time, I made my first wish.

Famous tourist spot and worth checking out. There is really nothing else beside the tree though.

A bit disappointing that the actual tree area was closed for the public, and there was no notice/info around a closing season online. Still, it was nice to make the trip there, and the street food was very tasty!
