Wilderness
with
varied
landscapes
in
this
northern
part
of
island
to
explore.
The
"emergency
rescue
access"
of
the
Ngong
Ping
Cable
Car
is
good
for
the
prepared
hikers
and
tourists.Linking
San
Tau
village
and
Ngong
Ping,
this
trail
is
one
of
its
kind
in
HK.
Cutting
through
hilly
forests
of
the
Nei
Lek
Shan,
this
timber
paved
trail
gives
you
breath
taking
views
over
the
CLK
airport
and
Tung
Chung
new
town.
It
is
well
equipped
with
maps
and
distance
markers,
but
you
may
simply
look
up
and
follow
the
cable
cars
above
your
head.
Not
easy
to
get
lost
anyway.
Those
going
for
serious
training
may
depart
from
Yat
Tung
Estate,
walk
westward
along
the
coast
then
start
the
climb
northward
from
the
coast
up
some
two
thousand
steps
to
reach
the
NP
cable
car
station.
There
is
a
small
helicopter
landing
field
a
bit
further
up
the
number
three
turning
station
of
the
cable
system
-
why
not
stop
here
for
rest
and
reward
yourself
with
spectacular
panoramic
views
of
the
area
after
a
strenuous
steep
ascent.
Or,
you
trek
the
path
in
the
reverse
direction,
say
after
spending
the
day
sight
seeing
in
the
NP
highland.
Time
it
right
and
you
would
enjoy
beautiful
sunsetting
scenery
strolling
down
the
path
in
the
evening.
Much
less
requiring
physically,
it
is
therefore
a
very
pleasant
decent
preferred
by
local
folks
and
even
foreign
tourists.
If
making
it
late
and
getting
dark
on
your
way
down,
a
torch
or
led
light
from
your
cell
phone
will
help
you
negotiate
the
steps.
Once
landed
on
the
villag,
street
lamps
along
the
shore
will
guide
you
back
to
the
new
town.
