(Translated by Google) Located in Sham Shui Po, Kowloon, Hong Kong, at the junction of Boundary Street and Lai Chi Kok Road, it is very close to the Prince. It is a very well-preserved monument. There is a herbal tea downstairs. There are also some historical and related photos of Lei Shengchun on display. Upstairs It is available for Chinese medicine clinics, you can also register online to participate in the Lei Shengchun guided tour, and you can go upstairs to visit. It is a very good and very successful example of the activation and regeneration of ancient monuments. Photography enthusiasts often come here to take pictures at night The night scene and the rails are very conspicuous on the street, it is difficult to let people pay attention to the classic tenement building. Visit the Prince Sham Shui Po area, don't miss the benefits of classics, it is worth a visit! Lui Seng Chun (雷生春) was built in 1931 by Mr. Lui Leung (雷亮), who was one of the founders of the Kowloon Motor Bus Company (1933) Limited (KMB). The building is a four-storey shophouse with the ground floor originally used as a herbal shop selling Chinese medicine, and the upper floors used as accommodation for the Lui family members. The four-storey shophouse has a curiously shaped irregular plan due to its wedge-shaped site. W.H. Bourne, a local architect, was hired to design Lui Seng Chun. It is built in Western Classical style with curved colonnaded and balustraded verandahs on all floors. The verandahs extend over the public pavement forming arcades. This type of shophouse is classified as Verandah Type. Classical features on the façade include a curved broken pediment over the main entrance, urn-shaped balusters to the verandah balustrading and moulded projecting cornices.

One of the rare surviving examples of Chinese shophouse at a corner site with a curved design. It's historic background with the legendary Lui family adds to it's cultural value

Lui Seng Chun is a Grade I historic building situated at the Lai Chi Kok Road and Tong Mi junction in Mong Kong. This is a pre-war era shophouse (Tong Lau) that is a blend of Western and Chinese architectural style, a popular way of designing buildings during the first half of the 20th century. The building was constructed in 1931 by the Mr. Lui Leung, one of the founders of our local KMB Bus company (1933), for his family and to conduct business. What you see is a delightful curved facade with each floor having its own balcony. The ground floor pillars and urn shaped balustrade on the second and third floor are also unique. It appears that the building was used as a traditional shophouse until Mr. Lui Leung died in 1944. In later years, it was let out to tailors and was eventually deserted in the 1980s. The Liu family then donated the property to the Antiquities and Monuments Office of the HK Government in 2000 where it was given historic grade status (2003), ensuring its preservation and protection from sale or demolition. Since 2012 it has been repurposed under a conservation initiative and is now being put to use by Hong Kong Baptist University School of Chinese Medicine.

If you're in the area, take a few minutes to stop by the ground floor to visit the Chinese medicine museum and try some tea. Staff here are friendly and welcoming. The photos around the shop are interesting and tell the story of the building's previous owners. The iconic design is intriguing, and I'm thankful that the Baptist University has helped to keep it alive and well.

(Translated by Google) Lu Sung Chun was designed and built in 1931 by architect W.H. The brother of Lui Leung, who was the owner of the building, sold Chinese medicine on the first floor and used it as a residential space on the upper floor. In 2008, Hong Kong Baptist University was rebuilt with the government's financial support and became Hong Kong Baptist University Chinese Medicine University (Lu Sung Chun). On the first floor, there is an exhibition that introduces the old Luseongchun along with the herbal tea shop, so the general public can also enter and exit.

Finally passed by when the LuiSangChun building was open. Tried to apply for the tour but it was cancelled. Anyway, decided to get the tea for fun which was unsweetened but not too bitter. There were four different teas so it depends on how you feel but the lady there should be experienced enough to identify your symptoms and serve you the appropriate tea.
