The rooms are incredibly small and filthy. The first room we checked into smelled like strong sewage and smoke, even though the staff claimed it's a non-smoking hotel. Could barely walk into the bathroom, much less take a shower. The staff let us change to a less stinky room but it was even smaller than the original one. We were told that they don't take the trash out of rooms because of covid, but it's March 2023 and the covid restrictions are over. There's even a sign downstairs saying if you get covid while staying here they will charge you $4000 cleaning fee. Would never stay at another M1 hotel as the management / owners rip you off.

Everything about the hotel is small. The room and shower space are cramped with poorly maintained facilities. The overall design of the room was not well thought out. The staff at the front desk were generally unfriendly and cold, the housekeeping staff loud and uncouth albeit friendlier. However, it’s worth pointing out that the hotel is conveniently located near two MTR exits and bus stops. Food offerings are plenty and key attractions are within walking distance. It is also very convenient located to a waste collection centre - to the left of the entrance, and a coffin seller to its right.

One of the worst hotels I've ever been to. Rooms are microscopic, dirty and smell cold tobacco. Bathroom pipes also reflux this smell of sewage so the two smells blend together in the room in this hellish smell cocktail. There is absolutely no room service so moldy bath mats are not being changed and garbage is not being removed from the room. They charge luggage storage for every day, to be paid in advance, and you have no choice since the rooms are too small for several luggages. Deposit is incredibly high, and there is a no refund policy. Absolutely awful, avoid at all costs.

Small and it looks very clean, but at night I caught a cockroach while I was sleeping... The cockroach was walking on me. Staff was very polite, fast and easy check-in. Very near to the train station. Next and important step was the breakfast. The breakfast area is heartwarming. The variety is minimal but satisfying. If that cockroach was not walking on me, I would strongly recommend the hotel but now sorry, I am not recommending.

I wish this hotel was a bit cleaner and had more light. It has been a while since I have been in a "wet" bathroom where the shower and toilet share the same space but it is manageable. The location is great for walking to local shops and restaurants. It's also easy to get anywhere by bus or train from here.

Very very very bad hotel. Rubbish place. Can’t even rest for few hours!!!! Room is small. No service at all. Bathroom did not separate dry and wet part. The fire alarm kept ringing in midnight, at least 5 times!! Rang from 1:30am and kept ringing until I guess 4/5am. And in the morning 7am.. it rang again… drive me crazy….. We called to front desk but they do nothing beside checking…However the alarm did not stop. Can’t sleep in these condition… Crazy.. We asked about the reason in the next morning, they just reply “someone smoking in the room” but no any apologies and compensation. It is ridiculous! If someone was smoking then they should stop him after the first alarm…..but no. The alarm rang for multiple times. Sound isolation is so bad as well, can hear the noise when people go out and come back.

Service is super horrible. Staffs are rude and do not speak English well. I booked a king size bed room and they gave me a twin size room because apparently "I checked in too late". I went alone expecting to rest on a nice big bed and instead I had to stay in a room with two small beds. Not quite sure what they want me to do with the spare bed. Also. the room is very small, dirty and smells of sweat. Overall experience was so bad. Don't book this hotel; will definitely ruin your whole travelling experience!

Service was the worst- would give 0-stars if we could. My elderly folks travelled as a duo and flat out refused the use of a bathroom, despite being a guest who’d just checked out on the same day. No compassion at all nor sympathy or alternative suggestions for most requests. Supposedly cleaning is on demand only. No adaptors to loan, flat out rejection to assist older travellers. Avoid this place, unless you like condensation and disrespect.

Only good comment is the location where it is just a street away from Temple Street. Hotel is sandwiched between 2 coffin shops, 1xrecycling collecion centre and 2 restaurants. The small lobby are crowded w of the the many luggages left by the guests w 2 servicing lifts. The twin sharing room (+toilet) is small and dirty and a medium size luggage can ony be opened on the bed. There is only 1 towel rack inside the toilet for hanging your clothings. Only ventilation for the toilet is by opening the 2 small windows. Not recommended w the price paid and there are many better hotels in Yau Ma Tei area. Initially wrote to the hotel to make the room booking but their reply was not welcoming so I ended booking through Agoda w a better price. Customer service needs to be improved as I ve personally experienced it during my stay. This is the 1st time where I don't take much photo of the hote and room as it was disappointing. Only took 2 photo to feedback to the hotel on the ventilation fan inside the toilet that is not working.

The cup has brown stain on it. There are a big brown human nail on the floor. The toilet is so small that you have no room for shower.

Really nice little hotel. The staff was supper helpful and combined the two booking so I didn't have to change rooms.. I had 2 different bookings, one done by my company and another by me as I intended to spend some extra days in HK.

I hope i can send picture on this app, I took a photo of some ants got in my backpack, in the morning when I woke up check something in my backpack, then I saw bunch of ants crawl over my backpack. And the room is quite dirty, luckily my air condition is working not like the other people said. But hey, this is my last minute choice, and with this price, you get what you got.

Room was okay size, not much leg space for one to walk around bed. Flooring felt quite damp, probably moisture accumulation overtime from AC. Bedding looked clean, no mould. Lighting could be better in bathroom. Pros: Close to MTR, proximity to sights/activities and eateries. Very affordable - when on sale. I paid around NZD90/night. Cons: No water bottles provided, no turnover service whatsoever during my 6 day stay, bed was rock hard, dirty bathroom and unhelpful concierges ( for the record all I needed was a paperclip to use as a sim ejector ... simple request, nope - it was too hard for the two ladies working on the day ).

A lot of dust enters the room, will feel nasal burning and difficulty breathing. See the dust clinging to the air vent clearly. On the floor of the room, the corner of the room was so dusty that we had to use wet tissues to wipe the entire floor. Even after wiping the dust on the floor, when you go outside and come back into the room again, you will immediately feel a burning nose again. Luckily it was only a one night stay and it was a bad experience. Said for people with allergies who are allergic to dust should not stay here. So tonight, I may have to wear a mask to cover my nose and sleep all night.

Really decent for the price. Considering it’s Hong Kong, the rooms were actually nicely sized (you can’t expect huge rooms in HK). My room at least was clean and there were no insects throughout my 5 day stay. The location is great, with MTR exits and bus stops. It’s walking distance to main tourist spots like Mong Kok and Temple Street market. It’s nice that it’s just off the main street so you still get a bit of peace and quiet. However, there were a couple things to be improved on. The hospitality left a lot to be desired. Front desk’s english is not the best and they are generally unhelpful. I asked simple questions like “where around here can I do laundry?” and was met with unprofessional/unhelpful replies like “i don’t know, i don’t live here.” Late check out also does not exist here. I booked a king sized bed that turned out to be two twins pushed together, creating a very hard center of the bed. I feel that a topper could’ve been put on top so it didn’t feel so obvious. Despite these things, I slept pretty well here and would recommend this place if you wanted a budget friendly hotel on Kowloon side with a convenient location.

Bedroom and the rest room are both extremely small, hard to move around if you have one or two luggages with you. Don't expect a chair and a desk!!!

We had a horrible airbnb reservation that ended up being in the chunking mansions. We moved out of it as soon as we got there and looked around for a nearby alternative. M1 was everything we wanted and more for a great price. Clean rooms with great views, a soft bed, quiet walls air-conditioning and city noises. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we were happy the whole time we were here to have a nice modern clean place to retreat to and call sanctuary.

I stayed this hotel for 6 nights. The hotel air conditioner wasn't working properly even though they fixed it. Due to covid restrictions there were no room service but someone entered my room without my consent and put my shampoo, facewash and towel in the basin. I was surprised when I was back in the hotel at night. I cannot trust this hotel and feel like it is unsecured to stay over there.

Highly recommended for its good value and comfort at £40 a night. A little cramped for space but otherwise all good. Reception spoke English which was a big help when asking for directions and for when we had a slight problem with the plumbing system which, I have to say, were sorted very quickly. Close to plenty of places to eat, both local cuisine and western style with a 7/11 on every street for snacking. The hotel room had a kettle and cups so take your own coffee with you! The bed was comfortable but only one pillow, the bathroom neatly laid out with towels. The hotel was very clean and staff helpful and friendly. We stayed 4 nights and would definitely stay there again..

Really ridiculous services. Towels are only changed every 4 days, no room cleaning and no gar taking out. I need to take out the trash from the hotel room to public garbage bin by myself. The room is far smaller and dirtier than the photos presented, especially the washroom. There are also noise 24/7 even in the midnight. The staff refused to check the noise which is a complete non-sense. There are also workers performing iron-cutting work in front of the very small main entrance of the hotel which is exceptionally dangerous. You are completely crazy if you still choose this hotel after reading this comment.

Bed is hard. When you shower, the entire bathroom will be wet. Great location.
