A solid 5 stars. One of the best staycations I’ve done. The gold standard customer service you’d expect from a legit 5 stars hotel from the receptionist, waitstaff, catering staff to housekeeping. They are just doing everything right. Amazing room with the victoria harbour view. The interior is beautiful with the classic style and almost every conner is impeccably clean. Didn’t try their dinner buffet unfortunately as not feeling well. However, had a chance to try their set breakfast at the lobby which was of high standard as expected. We didnt want some of the items on the set menu and the staff offered to change which was nice. After doing staycation on more than 10hotels in hk, Peninsula is defs on the top 3.

What an experience this hotel is. From when you depart the airport, right until you are re checking back into the airport, Peninsula hotel staff and right there with you, even loading the bags onto the Airlines checkin belt. (If you use their transfer service) This hotel is just pure opulence. The way they have inserted modern technology into this preserved historic building, is very impressive. Check in happens in your room, not at the desk. You don’t need to be out at 11am! Flexible checkout times! Like seriously? Facilities are next level. The only thing I would say, the pool would be even better outside. A stunning piece of art. Shout out to Charles on the egg station at the breakfast buffet - he remembered us every morning. Tried to find the “Archive” room - newsflash, it’s not what most of us would think.

What stood out was the warmly engaging staff, the immaculately maintained facilities, the tastefully furnished suite with high-tech conveniences, the breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour, and the atmospheric colonial legacy that was palpable across the elegant hotel. The vaunted Afternoon Tea, the gleaming Rolls Royce airport transfers, or a helicopter ride are not mandatory but on-call should one turn indulgent or decadent. A stay at the Peninsula is the stuff long lingering treasured memories are made of.

Visited a few times but haven't stayed overnight. Came once for the arcade, once for tasty dim sum, and once just to see. The hotel and staff definitely feel top-notch, like 5++ stars. The arcade is cool to check out, and they even have live classical music to enjoy.

The room is a newly renovated high block of the hotel. Although it looks at the view of Kowloon, the place is also wide. There are all kinds of equipment in the room, especially the coffee machine in the room has hot water supply. The room is also equipped with a fax photocopier and all kinds of stationery. The most special thing is the room, even the hand-drying machine is also available, which is convenient for me to do nail polish. Because it is a celebration of anniversary the hotel will present desserts to celebrate, as well as fruit plates. The bathroom includes a large bathtub and shower, and there are two wash basins for our convenience. On the whole, the room is fully furnished after renovation, except the dinner included in the set meal is not as ideal, and the waiter service needs to be improved.

I have enjoy so much in the hotel, the establishment is very easy to access and near to all shopping place and many mode of transportation. The room is best and very clean. Breakfast is above and beyond my expectation. The service staff are great with smile and they are ready to help you with everything with a best service mind. The afternoon tea also the best so far from many place in have been. Over all 100/10.

At the lobby “restaurant” I was turned away at 6:02pm as I was not wearing long pants… ok, fair enough… I went back to my hotel and changed and came back to have a drink and some appetizers… all good.. but then I see a guy sitting next to me wearing a ball cap… I go up to the floor manager asking “what’s what?? Why is this guy allowed to wear a ball cap in a ‘classy’ establishment???? “ And he did not get it.. did not understand the irony of it… to me this is a sig of BAD service and no understanding of what a classy place really is. Don’t come here!!!!

The lobby is amazing for afternoon tea. If you're looking for some "luxurious experience", it's definitely a go-to.

Where do I even start? I am out of words to describe this hotel. This hotel is probably one of the greatest hotels in Hong Kong and may be the top 10 in the World! This hotel offers spectacular food and service as well as tidy, clean, and spacious rooms that can be concluded in just one word. Perfect. This hotel is almost flawless with one minor issue, the location is in a very crowded street and can get quite loud some times. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this to the people who can afford it.

3/5 Set brunch included from the room package. Thought the seafood will be bad but surprisingly was good. Love the pastry, blueberry muffins, pineapple puff, just the plain one abit dry. Then soup is too salty. Main courses salty as well, salmon and tuna both dry sand taste like fridge. Dessert set is nice.

The Peninsula Hong Kong is definitely the icon of Hong Kong. Many would think TPHK is only known for lodging for the rich and famous, its world-class afternoon tea in the lobby or it’s extravagant wedding banquets, it offers more than what other luxurious hotels do. From its wellness spa, cake shop, home-made meals to its helicopter ride and English-style tea on a ferry, they never fail to innovate. Among all the amenities I have used over the years, I particularly enjoy their wellness spa, decorated cakes available at their boutique shop and their home-made meals.

One of the best hotels in Hong Kong. Their customer service is top notch and empathetic. My partner had covid and they were willing to accommodate in rescheduling for no extra cost. We stayed there for a staycation to celebrate my partner's birthday and they upgraded us for free to a harbor view! They surprised us with a cake as well! Compliments to the staff who checked us in, she was so sweet and welcoming! I wish I had gotten her name so I could thank her for the warmest welcome. the pool and the spa/sauna were fantastic and it was perfect to swim in. Great facilities all around. The amenities in the room were modern and the lighting controls were high-tech. I really love the interior of the room, the aesthetic was so pleasing and warm that feels like Hong Kong with the gorgeous view of the harbor. It has this relaxing and cozy ambiance inside. We also tried felix and it is top notch with an impeccable view. What an unforgettable experience. Thank you so much Peninsula!

MOLDY MOON CAKE! We bought 12 boxes of moon cakes from Peninsula Spring Moon, at $450 each, which we have been buying in the past 8 years. We saw the news about people complaining the Michelin-star moon cake from Spring moon were moldy, so we opened the only box that we kept for ourselves (most of them were already delivered to the clients). One of the 4 moon cakes on the top were bit black, and when we cut opened, it was covered completely in mole (see photo).

Remind me of the good old times of British colonial. Very few places on Hong Kong retains British style architecture. Hopefully this hotel will not be taken over by communist in the future.

My brother went with In Laws, very exquisite 5 star hotel, they overbooked so they couldn't get their double rooms, so kind, sorry Mr. Kaul, we can only give all of you the Presidential Suite. Along with all hotel cars being from Rolls Royce only, must go if you get the chance, maybe they will overbook again, lol.

Wanted to get afternoon tea and listen to the carols. They said we had to agree to a minimum charge of 500HKD.....each! So we decided to forego the tea. Was pretty tired so I sat on the floor to listen to the carols (we had a friend in the choir) and was chased away by security who said they had a seat in reception - on the other side of the building. Absolutely everything a 5 star hotel should NOT be - snooty and unresponsive to client needs. (Yes, you guys, I stay in 5 star hotels like you and will know NOT to recommend you to my colleagues).

This hotel was nice, but really overhyped in my opinion. Location was good and venue is beautiful but the service was mediocre. For the 'best' five star hotel in HK I expected quality and received average. Maybe it's the covid restrictions but breakfast was average and extremely slow. Also if you're mask doesn't cover your nose be prepared for the security guard to come by. The city and hotel is not ready for tourism in my opinion.

It was a bad surprise for a 5 star hotel to have this accommodation. Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Lousy management & poor services.

Celebrated my partner’s D-day here. Everything they served us for brunch was so opulent and delicious. Servers were all hands on and 200% attentive. The silverware made me feel like King Charles II. Definitely one for the books.

Staycation for 1 night. Stayed in the old building. Rooms were smaller and more compact but still very beautiful and clean. Washroom wasn't too "open" but still had a decent tub and sep shower. Peninsula pool was always well known. But this time I went they closed off the big windows to the outdoors so it felt like an indoor pool. Service is always 5 star here and I had a lovely stay.

Definitely the top hotel in Hong Kong, narrowly beating the Ritz Carlton. The rooms are simply stunning with such high quality materials and attention to detail. The pool is magnificent although it is missing a hot water jacuzzi. Probably one of the top hotels worldwide. The price reflects this.

Excellent facilities with very fair service and over-enthusiastic male guests. I was celebrating my own birthday with friend in The Peninsula last week. Suite and facilities are excellent. We have deluxe harbour view suite. Seaview is gorgeous and bathtub is huge. Of course there's no problem of water flow. Gym room is nice that there are enough instruments for multiple guests to use. Swimming pool is okish, well-decorated but not wide and long enough if you really wanna Swim. CAUTION: Floor is very slippery. Wearing their slippers is a MUST. Breakfast is included and taste super nice. Although Lobby could be very noisy, at least I'm sure everyone can be very stuffed and satisfied from that. However, I have to say there are some issues on staffs. Maybe I don't look enthusiastic enough, I received no greetings from the moment of entering hotel. I had my first "Good Afternoon" after I arrived front desk by myself. At the same time, staff in front desk is actually very helpful and nice. Room tour also makes me feel warm. Then something unexpected happened. Originally my friend had requested that birthday cake and champagne would be sent by request in Whatsapp days before. But anyway they're being sent to room right after I checked in. And the male staff that send these looks not very helpful and willing to send back for us. It's also my bad that I forgot bringing my own eyemask for sleep so I called them to see if they provide it. The answer was they had no storage on that, which I'm a little bit concerned as a 5-star hotel. My friend also didn't find any hairbrush in bathroom, we called again and it's quickly sent to room. Unfortunately it broke after only one brush. Of course we asked for a new one and this time a "stronger" one was sent, which finally works with my friend's hair! At the same time, there are some enthusiastic-maybe unwanted-gaze in swimming pool and gym from JUST opinion from me and my friend. Please make sure that you smile and have a strong mind if you're visiting here as a woman. And I'm not trying to be critical here. The peninsula is overall a nice hotel if you have enough budget and wanna have a try of old-fashioned HK style. But it's not a good choice if you wanna relax as a woman and expecting 5-star service.

Great ambiance and an institution on afternoon teas... a must to try, at least! I enjoyed the sandwiches and sweets but went there for the authentic scones! Their tea selections are great also! Went with the family, and the servers were wonderful to my kids while I ran some errands around the area.

This hotel remains the benchmark for exclusivity worldwide. Imperious service in a building of architecture and design that cannot be improved upon. Until you've stayed here, you don't have a valid measuring stick for any other hotel.

I am Marriot member however since the Penisula was an iconic hotel in Hong Kong, I decided to spend the last 2 nights there. The room was stunning and a nice balance of elegance and technology. I had mixed feelings on the service as some areas were exceptional and others were not at par. The 'buffet' breakfast area was under staffed and serviced. We had a difficult time finding someone just to get coffee. The front desk check in staff as well as lounge (level one) service staff seemed untrained. For example, I have never experienced a cappucino without a small biscuit and the staff never checked in to see if I needed another one. The best service , where I expected the Penisula to have the same service through in through, were in the the two Michelin starred restaurants, Spring Room and Gaddi's and the concierge for the car service (which we booked the rolls royce option). In speaking with others who have been loyal guests to the Penisula for decades, the service has changed due to the competing 5 start hotels in the area where they have actively recruited some of their staff. In summary, a beautiful hotel and the manager of the concierge (where the Rolls Royce was booked) was exceptional, however with the inconsistent service, I would much rather return to the Marriott group.

The Peninsula Hong Kong: Breathtaking views, luxe vibes. A stay here is pure indulgence – from chic rooms to impeccable service, it's a slice of luxury in the heart of the city. Highly recommended for a memorable escape!

Service just soso to be honest, had tea there, the waiter keep asking me for more than 3 times to take away the high tea set, but we actually still haven't finished. Very annoying, i guess they do not have enough tea set rack, that's why the waitress keep asking if the food can put together and take away the rack from us.

Today I visit the newly opened boutique cafe, it is very elegant and stylish! The scones set is $120, including two pieces of signature scones and drink . The classic scone is really tasty, it is fluffy, and soft, together with the clotted cream and strawberry jam, simply delicious! The raisin scone is good too! It got similar taste as the classic, both of them are good. And service is good too, recommended!

Its very good overall, nevertheless it would have been better if the joining rooms are configured as they are confirmed during booking (king + twin). It happened on both occasion of our visit. But still a pleasant place for sure.

The check in queue was ridiculous. If you're expecting large quantity of people staying on that day. Maybe open a few more counters and actually be nice to the guests. The service was very subpar. They only put in effort when they gave us the wrong room. The receptionist reconfirmed we got a sea view. But still gave us a city view. Which is ridiculous. The manager was nice enough to help us change it but by the time it was all sorted out. It was already 4pm. Can't really enjoy the room at all. The breakfast was a set which is alright but the food was very mediocre. The room is quite nice, especially the sea view. The pillows are very soft and unable to sleep on. For that price. Definitely not worth it

Not patronized the restaurants there for 30 years. Gone are the days of the staff looking down upon ordinary looking visitors and no more snobbishness. So, you can go in and feel comfortable for a change with helpful staff.

For the nostalgic and the seaview, day and night, the Peninsula is the place to go. Gaddis remains its elegance and excellent quality of food, particularly pastry, bread and dessert. It would be perfect if the service had been just a little more attentive. This may sound critical, yet, it's the Peninsula! Western breakfast was disappointing, not the bread though.

That waitress at the coffee place in peninsula hotel right after the main entrance was so discriminative. She told us there's no place for a coffee when her colleague showed us to our table barely 5 minutes later. The entire dining area was only 50% full with the other 50% of empty tables. Extremely Disappointed with peninsula hotel Hong Kong.

It was a terrific experience on our wedding anniversary. The staff was amicable and courteous—excellent service and cleanliness. Our experience with Felix peninsula restaurant was beautiful. Especially Ms. Lewis Chiu and Mr. Stanko Luicsic were amazing. Excellent service and gesture to accommodate our needs and make our day memorable. And we were making our day special.

I stayed here as a surprise from my partner for my birthday, and what a stay it was! The room had a fantastic view of Victoria Harbour and it was wonderfully cosy. The swimming pool and decking outside is a great highlight, we sat for two hours drinking the freeflow gin (which if I remember correctly was just a little over 100 dollars - fantastic value for money) and we enjoyed lazing by the pool. The hotel supplied me with a lovely cake for my birthday - complimentary, of course! Being a James Bond fan, I was enticed by the green Rolls Royces parked outside and the general setting of the hotel that featured in The Man With The Golden Gun. Dinner and drinks at the Felix was a great way to end the evening. We will definitely return - perhaps we will wait for post 6pm dining and general swimming pool restrictions to end before returning!

I've been to many five-star hotels in my life and the Peninsula Hong Kong is one of the best. The service is impeccable and the food is some of the best I've ever had. The hotel has a great location near to Ferry terminal and is close to everything you need. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a luxurious vacation in Hong Kong.

Changed a lot in comparison to the older days. Ver surprised with a 'no booking' system for tea at the lobby (not sure that it was true, but was told that on the phone). We went to check and was told to put our names down and to wait. There were other patrons stood around waiting. I found this very off putting. I don't believe that this is the way a prestige hotel and restaurant should operate. Very disappointing.

It was my best staycation ever. Over 5 stars experience from hotel accommodations to dining. The staffs were friendly and courteous. Special thanks the front desk manager Ms. Alice Lai to make our days so memorable. World's best hotel, The Peninsula Hong Kong truly lives up to the claim.

harbour view from the room is central and awesome, at day and night. service of staff is good. love the e-panel which is convenient and responsive. photo-taking at pool is allowed when asking staff, although the signage prohibits it. breakfast at the lobby is slow (in particular, waited for too long for the western style breakfast). check-in process is too long and complicated, comparing with other hotels. Disappointed that one of the savoury treats is missing in the takeaway afternoon tea set box.

I was having a coffee meeting with my client. The charm of Peninsula continues to captivate me. There were so many people there for the afternoon tea. We didn't make reservation and there simply was no table on the ground floor available for us. But we were glad that they had plenty of tables on the second floor.

  • 1/5 Albert C. 2 years ago on Google
Incredibly disappointing and amateurish service and check in process. Queue forms immediately at check in, horrendous attitude by staff taking down information at check in. Alex at check in arrogantly tells us to go explore the hotel, leaves multiple guests including us infuriated. Would give lower than a 1/5 if possible. If this supposed grand dame of hotels can’t even get its check in process running efficiently, it challenges the imagination on what it actually can do well.

One of the great historical building in Hong Kong since 1928. The lobby is breathtaking, staff always carry a smile and helpful. Room is in great design and historical, with some modern element. We ordered the room dining. The food was high quality and delicious, but not as good as I had in Four Season. Hope I can come back next time to celebrate my anniversary.
