Bad experience!!! The house keeper who assumed all Asian speaks Mandarin pushed my door and let the male technician in to sanitize the drainage without my consent on Monday afternoon!!! she didn't explain clearly why the technician need to get in my room. The house keeper rude behavior scared me!!! Never come again!!!

I returned to Hong Kong 40 years after visiting this hotel to share the experience with my daughter. We arrived in Hong Kong at 4:30 am after an exhausting journey from the US. We were told to leave luggage and return at 3pm. I had to plead with the manager to check in at 2pm. The staff made us feel uncomfortable, scared to ask any questions because they were so patronizing and intimidating. The beds were painfully hard and uncomfortable. We had to keep asking for more toilet tissue. My daughter added more layers to the bed but it was still super uncomfortable. The housekeeping were incredibly friendly. They accidentally took my expensive Beats Earphones from my room, which I called and thankfully they found them. On a positive note, the view of the promenade was gorgeous and the location to the subway was awesome. We loved the complimentary toothbrushes and combs, which we seriously will keep using. The complimentary water was a nice touch. It was intimidating to use the gym and swimming pool because the staff was so unfriendly. The need to wear a swim cap seemed excessive. The only time the front desk associates were nice was when we checked out, as if they couldn’t get wait to get rid of us. I love Hong Kong because I lived there 40 years ago and my daughter saved her money to bring me back. We travel internationally extensively and we have never experienced such rude treatment from any other country. It was so disappointing. My daughter commented that she’s never felt like such prejudice against us before.

Good value for money. Hotel staffs are exceptional friendly and the swimming pool is well polished and very training friendly for regular swimmers!

We returned to the Salisbury last month, after a 5 year break. We have stayed here multiple times (10+) and even have the same room each time we return. Where we love the location, and the housekeeping staff are friendly and helpful, we were absolutely shocked this trip to find out at check-in, that our room would only be serviced every 4th day. I do have to mention that this point was mentioned in the "fine print" on our booking confirmation email, but we missed it. This apparently, is part of their new "green policy"... where I totally get this when it comes to changing linen too frequently and refreshing towels on a daily basis... how does this apply to not making the beds, emptying the dirt bins each day, washing the coffee cups and cleaning the bathroom on a daily basis? No cleaning products were supplied for us to do this ourselves either. I don't travel half way around the world, and pay money to stay in a hotel, where I have to service my own room. We were really disappointed and will probably not return unless this policy changes.

We just ended our overnight staycation and we had a good time. One of the main reason why to choose this hotel was the reopening of the pool. We were allocated and upgraded to a harbour view room with an extra welcome for our celebration which is much appreciated. The room is spotless clean, with all the amenities, including a decent bathtub. Unfortunately, the view is partial blocked because the room windows are dirty. Overall friendly and professional staff from the time of check in to check out. Great pool experience, but take into consideration you share the areas with YMCA paying sport club members. Another great part on the offer, one can stay in the room on the check out date till 6 PM. We booked including afternoon tea in the Mall Cafe and breakfast at The Haven on the 4th floor. Sadly when we ordered cappuccino we are told, only regular coffee is included. So one has to pay for a cappuccino, which is odd. Understandable, The Haven breakfast is served a la carte due to the pandemic, yet the food ordered is not of the quality and does not reflect the hotel image, neither the windows are cleaned obstructing the fantastic view. A pity. Overall we enjoyed our time and that counts.

The hotel is amazing, from it’s exterior to the inside of it, we’re booking the harbour view suite at the upper floor, we feel heart-fully welcomed especially the bedroom with “Happy Birthday” spotlight decoration! The best part is the view from the room is Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island. it really is a sight to behold a drink at the night while looking at the harbour is the best! 🥳🎉🎈😋 #staycation2020

We booked a suite with harbour view and absolutely loved it! The price point and location can't be beat. Staff were helpful. Didn't try the breakfast as we planned to eat out, there being so many food options nearby. Only problem is Hong Kong herself, an expensive city.

Bad customer service. Not helpful at all. Called to arrange changes regarding booking but they said they can't make the call because I booked with the agency once the agency contact them they said no to my request. So they could arrange it for me but just didn't want the trouble.

Good: Room is fine. Location is good. Bad: Cleans your room once a week. Food quality at the buffet is very below par. Seafood is not fresh and too salty. Sashimi tastes like rubber. Mandatory to wear a cap while swimming. Mandatory to wear mask at gym.

My room was upgraded from twin to sweet! The room was clean unlike some reviews. (maybe it varies by room) Its location is best for tourists! I didn't really care about the view, but it was also great. Some things that wasn't good enough was that hair dry was very weak. Also, it's been 2weeks since I've checked-out but my deposit hasn't been returned yet.

Probably my favorite place to stay in HK. In the past, I could usually find a good deal, but prices seem to be going up. Rooms are basic, but comfortable. There is a decent fitness room (it is the Y gym also) and the staff have always been great. The location is great if you are staying in Kowloon

I recently stayed at The Salisbury YMCA in Hong Kong with my family and had a fantastic experience. The hotel's location is ideal for tourists, with easy access to many attractions. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, especially considering the limited space in Hong Kong, providing a comfortable stay. While the cost is on the higher side, it's definitely worth the money considering the location and room quality. Overall, I highly recommend The Salisbury YMCA for a memorable and convenient stay in Hong Kong.

Stay for the views and location, but be ready to go downstairs / elsewhere if the wifi speed or signal strength don't meet your needs. Otherwise definitely the more reasonable place to stay with a southward view of the harbour!!!

Excellent harbour view. Way cheaper than the Peninsula which shares the same view. However the staff misplaced us in the wrong room so they had to transport items from the original package to our room. Sofas seemed a bit dusty tho.

Let's be very clear here. Nothing can beat the YMCA for this price. The swimming pool is big, the gym is ok, squash court, badminton court, tennis table, climbing walls. In front of the sea next to peninsula, strategic location. It's cheaper than stupid small Airbnb and the staff is very nice too. Breakfast is also good. Ok you don't have an infinty pool to take picture for your Instagram but who cares, YMCA is my go to for long stay in HK.

We checked in at 3 pm, and the reception said the room was not ready yet. Ok, we understand summer is the peak season, sat and waited until 4 pm; no staff reached us. We don’t know what happened and asked the reception (a lady called Mei). She replied with a terrible attitude that the room would be “available while it is available.” At last, we successfully got to our room at 4:15 pm but not feeling any respect. And there was an unknown red object in the bed as well.

Here for a long stay of 28 days. The rooms are spacious, and being able to use the swimming pool and gym is great. Furnishings are a bit dated, but the price is unbeatable.

Had dinner at their restaurant. Everything was mediocre, the service was ok but not great. The food can taste better for the price they charge. The beef was a little overcooked and the chips were quite oily. The coffee had a good aroma, but was a bit bland. The seats were comfortable and the environment was relaxing though.

We stayed at the harbour front suite. View was good. Facilities were slightly dated.

Great place to stay if you book early & pay for a harbour view room. Same view as the Peninsula at a third of the price.😉

Trying to locate a couple. Couple who lived on a hill and can see pirates boats being chased Hong Kong 🇭🇰 coast guards. Husband is Australian engineer and wife name is Janet, chinese. We met right outside YMCA and had a good conversation. Of About 20 Chinese engineers watching an australian engineer work. Thank you for treating me to a buffet at YMCA on May 28th, 1995. It was my birthday and i had just graduated from NYU. I didn't tell you it was my birthday that day. Also 5/5 duan wu festival. I lost your contact information when going to Windows of the world at shenzhen, China. A group thieves used a scissor to cut open my pocket and stole my wallet, my NYU ID, and several hundreds of US dollars of cash. I was napping on a two hours plus bus trip to Windows of the world. Well Janet and retired Australian Engineer sir, i pray you have a good health 🙏 and see this message. This was 27 years ago. My name is Rich residing at New York. If faiths should have it, allow me to treat your family members somewhere somehow and presumably on his or her birthdays.

The hotel is located close to the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station (~5min walk). The location is filled with shops and restaurants plus the largest shopping mall in Hong Kong. The price is affordable when compared to other hotels around the area. Overall, highly recommend this hotel.
