Very good hotel for relaxing, especially for a stay cation. Stay for 2 will cost you between $800 to $1000 depending on season. It's a good location and the surroundings are cool and serene. It is kind of peaceful here without the hustle bustle of the city. There is a beach just below the hotel if you like to swim or sun bathe. Also there is a huge swimming pool in the hotel with some play activities for kids.

This was my second time visit this hotel. my last visit was 32 years ago . The hotel has been upgraded a lot. This time I only went there for a walk and have lunch at the restaurant . I didn't stay over night. The Dim Sum and lunch menu is good.

The theme rooms in gold coast are fantastic, creative and specious. The dinosaur room has a big Dino structure and there are some pillows on the floor resembling Dino eggs and rocks. The amenities are ample and neat. The room comes with a Dino themed afternoon tea. All the other activities also come free with the theme room. Overall, a lovely stay.

Stayed here for a week in January for a family visit. The seaview room was large and in good condition considering the age of the property. The housekeeping staff on my floor was friendly and efficient. We dined in the Singaporean restaurant (fair at best) and the Chinese restaurant (pretty decent).

Our visit to the hotel last year was good, the theme room large with well planned activities for kids. But the visit this week has been extremely dissaapointing. The rooms are in dire need of refurbishment. The 'Deluxe Sea View room' for 4000 hkd was two single beds with a car park view and a glimple of water. Their idea of Pokemon theme room is to add a half curtain and some stickers around the room. The interactive games included a broken VR headset and some bored staff throwing hoops around. Poor value for money, sadly we will not come back again.

Very nice it is fine in clean. The thing that I love the most is actually the beach and the swimming pool. It is just so fun to play in there. In the hallway it has a water filling machine. It saved a lot of bottles very nice. It has a few food shops which has a lot of good food in there and it is very taste, too.

Having not done a staycation before I was not expecting much. However I was.very impressed with the Gold Coast Hotel. The staff were excellent, rooms clean and lots to do for kids even in winter. Check in and check out was very quick. In particular I was impressed with the food, with good veggie options at breakfast. The Singaporean restaurant they have in the hotel is superb and very well priced. All in all pleasantly surprising and we shall be going again.

Always needed a comforting staycation to brighten up ourselves. Life’s too short to wake up in the morning without much satisfaction. 🔝 - ☞ 𝙃𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙆𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙃𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙡 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐞 - 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐮𝐱𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐲, 𝐒𝐞𝐚 𝐕𝐢𝐞𝐰, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 - 𝐇𝐊$𝟗𝟕𝟎 The room was overall clean and spacious, with a great window view overviewing the Gold Coast. Though it would be better if we weren’t assigned to a corner room, even though the balcony was slightly bigger than the others, the balcony was located behind the bed with a small wooden door, and it’s not even facing the Gold Coast, let alone the light on the balcony was broken and was a little too dusty outside. Apart from the balcony issues, the room was pretty neat and the staffs were pretty friendly. - sᴘ𝟿𝟽𝟶-sғsɢ-ʀᴘ-ᴡs-ᴡsᴄ

Probably a 4.5. Except for the crazy 2 hour wait to check-in (it was Easter weekend), I was reasonably impressed. Overall a better experience than the kingdom club at Disney. We got the dinosaur theme room and then the camping room. Breakfast was pretty good, but try to avoid getting seated in the first floor lounge area as the selection is limited. You can go downstairs to the main room, but it's a hassle. You get a free afternoon tea with the theme room. Didn't try the pool as it was a bit chilly. Activities for children seem plentiful.

Great theme hotel in HK, generous size. Walking distance to beach with public parking. Singaporean food is fantastic but coffee shop is just okay. Kids pool is 80cm deep with 2 slides. Kids playroom need to be 5 above so if too young will kill the fun.

Great hotel. Good restaurants, good buffet, good facilities, especially the swimming pool. Just don't wear yellow when you go out (no clue what the insects are called, but tiny insects will cling onto your shirt). Learnt this the hard way.

Wonderful experience, had a Christmas staycation, staff were efficient, room was clean, facilities were suitable for kids - they had a lot of fun

Fabulous way to end our HK holiday being away from the hussle and bussle for 3 beautiful days. Opulence. Superb for and service.. stunning gardens to meander through . On the marina and close to beach. Shuttle bus to and from the centre of the city 3 times a day. Hopefully when we return the swimming pool which is fabulous will be functioning. This was due to Covid. Thank you to the wonderful staff for a pleasant memory Leo Smans and Linda Masolini 💕💕

Thank you so much for a wonderful week in Hong Kong. The hotel is beautiful, rooms are clean and well maintained during our stay. The food was pricey but DELICIOUS . Honestly the best part was how incredibly kind and helpful the staff were. The young man at the valet helped us daily with our plans, front desk staff were kind and accommodating, restaurant staff were friendly and welcoming. I cannot say enough about the beautiful people working here!!! We will visit again from 🇨🇦 Canada very soon.

The hotel looks dated from the outside. I was here 12 years ago and it looked dated then. The exterior could do with a fresh coat of “pink” paint. Didn’t go inside this time round so couldn’t comment on it. The beach is fine albeit quite crowded now. Water quality is ok but then again most beaches here are like this unless you go somewhere like Big Wave Beach

Great family friendly hotel - unique for HK due to its location by the beach and themed rooms. We booked 2 rooms, one was a theme room and other balcony room. Both rooms were of a decent size. Theme room is great for kids, but lacking any sort of closet / wardrobe / chair or tables. Pool is amazing, but disappointingly no food / drinks service nor is it allowed to being to pool side. For a family friendly hotel, this makes 0 sense, parents don't want to deal with hungry kids and I doubt hotel would want to deal with tired people arents of hungry kids. Overall stay was great except - the hotel needs to train their front desk staff better and reconsider their food delivery policies. Every other hotel I've stayed at in HK will allow food delivery staff deliver food to the concierge. Gold coast unfortunately will hassle the delivery person, and let them leave the food on the floor outside the main gate. Even though the operator called our room saying they have recieved the delivery, no one had picked it up and put it at the concierge. When I asked who's responsible for this I had to go through 3 different staff telling me "not my job" before the manager came out. Their policy is they can not accept outside food "due to safety issue". In that case, refuse the delivery - instead of hassling the guy to the point where he dropped it outside. Outside the main gate is still hotel property / private road. So again 0 logic. Obviously they'd like you to order room service instead of external delivery, but it's 2023 - so please improve your room service menu, AND learn to (literally) accept external food delivery.

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of May 2023. The hotel is old, trying to update. large room, beautiful sea view from the window. cleaning is good. The big minus is dirty ventilation. can't air the room. air conditioners are old, noisy, a lot of mold. Our child is allergic to mold, she was very sick. The whole experience was ruined. we won't go there again.

Rooms are clean and more spacious than normal rooms in Hong Kong. But the bathroom is kind of dated and can definitely do a facelift. Staff are courteous and helpful. If you are looking for a hotel that's in the heart of Hong Kong with easy access to shops and restaurants, stay away from this one. But if you are looking for a hotel that is quiet, offers seaview and close to the beach, this hotel is perfect!

Been here on a 3 week extended stay with work, the staff have been super helpful, the extended stay deal with laundry, room service etc is very well managed! Really have been made to feel welcome.

Located right next to the Gold Coast Piazza. Amazing service right when walking in. Staff was very helpful and courteous. The laundry service was amazing and quick. The room was spectacular and an amazing view of the docks and oceanfront. Only a 20 minute drive from the airport. I will be staying there again when I visit Hong Kong.

The best thing about this hotel is that the beach is on its doorstep - it's feels private enough and is a great asset to the hotel. (Beach gear hire is CASH only - no octo or contact less payment) The breakfast buffet is quite decent as well with good variety and quality dishes. It's not usually too crowded and the seating areas are comfortable. We had lunch on arrival which was mediocre. The rooms had a bit of black mould on the walls and the hotel food prices are unnecessarily expensive. We had food delivered on both evenings for dinner. The bed itself is big but the mattress is unusually hard - there are limited satellite channels on the room TV which does not support screen casting (can use a HDMI if you'd like). Bathroom was good and the shower was pretty great as well. The communal water refill machines were a nice touch and reflected the hotel's sustainable ethos. Also, the hotel's facilities pretty kid-friendly. A four star hotel with an old-school feel, I'm not convinced the price was worth the stay but good for a short weekend away.

Really nice place for a family getaway. An old hotel that has been tastefully refurbished, the rooms are not exceptional but the experience is. Try to get a room with a patio. Great buffet breakfast, wonderful location close to the beach and loads of restaurant options at the nearby plaza. Pool slides good fun for the kids!

This hotel is a beach front hotel located at suburb of Hong Kong with excellent sea view and step to the beach. Rooms are somewhat smaller but comfortable. The food in the hotel however is expensive.

Stayed here for my son's 5th birthday and booked the tram themed room. I LOVE the attention to detail in this hotel. They gave him a driver's hat when we checked in. The room was splendid, with lots of space and nice touches (complimentary train pop-it toy). As part of the birthday package we got a free workshop to build a model tram, a ride on a miniature train that chugs around the hotel grounds, and even a tram-themed afternoon tea experience! It was wonderful and we will definitely come back for another celebration! The pool & splash park were great fun and the nearby plaza has lots of restaurants to choose from. You can walk to the giant golden dolphin statues in about 15 minutes (but it's super hot in the daytime so it's better to go in the evening).

Came for a staycation around Xmas time and it was full of people. The room is a bit old but there are plenty of facilities for kids (and it happened that kidztopia was having a pop-up at the hotel during the period). For adults, there’s a running trial and beach right next to the hotel for a relaxing walk. There’s a hidden park (free) within the hotel premises for kids to run around and drain their energy. Lots of choices for the buffet breakfast and the quality isn’t bad at all. Recommend for families with kids.

Just came for the day to visit friends. As always, great facilities for the kids. Sat outside in the restaurant area adjacent the pool. Ordered Al la carte, food very slow to arrive 1hr between first and last dish arriving. Food was OK, service needs work.

Nice hotel, totally worth the money. The staff was really understanding and kind. View from hotel room was amazing as well. There were many places to go around nearby the hotel such as the beach. The only thing I would have loved to see would be more vegetarian options since there was not a lot available for us.

The first thing to be shown: There are 453 rooms in total. (44+44+42+40+40+31+30+30+29+28+25+22+19+16+13) Reminder: If you like tranquility, do not choose 15/F ~ 17/F. I tried many times for getting into rooms there but actually, you won't be able to sleep well. 😵 The second thing to be shown: I know that this hotel has a history, improvements in cleanness are needed though: The floor is stained, etc. The third thing to be shown: Good service 😀 The biggest pool I've ever seen Delicious food Creative exterior design Accessible I give you four stars

Overall a very pleasant stay. A family friendly hotel, the room was decent and looks fairly new. The pool is big and it's a short walk to the beach. Breakfast buffet has many choices. The sharks and pirate adventure playroom was great for rainy days as well as workshops that they run for kids.

Great experience with this hotel. Kids will love it. I wish I could stay a bit longer maybe next time a weekend. Seaview is great but I think suite are even better with a balcony. Highly recommended 🌟🌟🌟🌟. Too bad about the swimming pool and beach banned.

It is a really good hotel for staycation or vacation. The swimming pool is the main attraction to my kid, which has 2 slides. But remember to book the timeslot as soon as possible.

The lobby as you pass the entrance looks massive and beautiful. Very simple but looks historical and well preserved. Love the idea of the hotel as focused on family trip as it has wonderful amenities for families and kids, great restaurant selection and beach just beside. However, the housekeepeing needs a lot of improvement. In fact it is very poor! As we arrived in our room, the room looks dirty, you could see the dust and insect inside the room, headboard of the bed accumulated of dust, the phone looks like it's been cleaned last month. You could see the dust everywhere! Under our bed , there were used tissues and the sink from the bathroom looks like an unfinished construction. Lastly, its a very very very humid place to stay. Outside beside the beach is even bearable compare to this one. I know its not a five star hotel and a very old one but that doesn't validate as a reason for delivering the room cleaned well. Im not even asking for spotless clean, atleast not have the dust and dirt present everywhere you look. Its very displeasing. Everything else is great, just really the housekeeping.

Staycation for 1 night at the gold coast hotel. friendly staff excellent facilities. Because of the Covid situation Gym was only allowed 8 people max. No bookings required. Swimming at the pool did required advanced reservations for hotel guests.

  • 5/5 Lilian L. 2 years ago on Google
Highlight of the stay was Wally Lo who helped us with everything from check-in to securing dinner and lunch reservations. He worked tirelessly during an extra packed full house to make sure all customers were happy. Kids had lots of fun. But make sure you book the dinner and lunch buffet ahead of time and a time slot at the pool right when you check-in. We left a phone charger in the room and they found it and couriered it back to us.

We went for one of these things that Covid created: a "staycation". This time on Hong Kong's Goldcoast, in its iconic hotel. One thing up front: the staff could not have been nicer, friendlier and more polite. They are fantastic. Of course, these being the times we are living in, the hotel was nearly deserted. The rooms with balconies are comfortable, the balcony is decently sized to be useful. The view of the Marina is great and there is a distinct "holiday feeling" about the place with its palm trees, Waterfront location and various restaurants. Breakfast was limited - given the few people staying that is understandable. But the food was fresh and tasty. The restaurant had a decent menu for late lunch. Only point was that the chips could have been a bit hotter. We cannot say anything about the activities, as these were all suspended. Overall, when we left, we left happy and with a good feeling of the place.

We have stayed here a number of times as a family of 4 and always have a lovely stay. It really feels like you get out of the city. The facilities are great, pool lovely, playroom great for a short play, the restaurants are generally good but sometimes booked up. They really put a lot of effort into their offer for kids and they are rarely bored. The location is great too. Beach nearby, plaza with other places to try and a great supermarket. I'm sure we will be back again.
