I
know
Chungking
Mansions
is
supposed
to
be
a
backpacker's
place,
not
a
luxury
hotel
like
the
Sheraton,
but
I
was
still
shocked
that
the
room
was
so
small,
only
big
enough
for
one
person
to
stand
except
for
the
nightstand
and
bed.
I
guess
you
could
call
it
cozy.
Indeed,
you
get
what
you
pay
for.
But
certainly
I
didn't
pay
to
see
two
cockroaches.
I
killed
one
in
the
bathroom
and
the
other
hid
behind
the
nightstand.
The
floor
was
also
dirty
and
you
could
see
all
the
dirt
and
gunk
on
the
edge
between
the
floor
and
the
wall.
It
seems
that
for
them
cleaning
a
room
consists
of
just
a
light
sweep
with
a
broom.
The
service
was
also
very
slow.
We
specified
two
guests
in
advance
when
booking,
but
there
was
only
one
set
of
toiletries
and
one
pillow
in
the
room.
We
had
to
wait
an
hour
for
staff
to
bring
a
pillow.
Unbelievable.
Additionally,
I
would
like
to
report
their
dishonest
business
practices.
We
arrived
at
10:30pm
which
I
guess
was
pretty
late
so
we
were
assigned
a
room
in
another
hotel
next
door.
I
guess
they
were
overbooked
and
sold
our
reservation
to
another
hotel
on
the
same
floor.
I've
skipped
a
lot
of
Chungking
Mansions
hotels
with
bad
reviews
because
I
was
hoping
to
get
a
cleaner
room.
Therefore,
I
would
recommend
anyone
arriving
late
at
night
to
completely
avoid
all
Chungking
Mansions
hotels.
