A HK$500 deposit was taken against my credit card. I was told this would only be a pending transaction. But it actually charged to my credit card and I happened to have to pay for for it in my next bill. As of now, it is still a charge on my credit card and refund has not arrived, even after a week I checked out.

Front desk is helpful and what stands out gonna be the clean room and the whole environment. The fact they did up a free meaningful museum for the public which made this place more than a stay place. I particularly like there are places for u to hang out at common areas or pantry

Amazing hostel. The rooms were much nicer than I was expecting. A 4 bed female dorm had four separate beds (no bunk beds), in two rooms. Big lockers provided, bed side lights and enough plug sockets. The air con was great and easy enough to change yourself. The breakfast has 4 options to choose from. Cereal comes with salad, which is slightly random, but the chicken and rice option was really filling

I made a reservation for 90,000 won per night. There is no refrigerator in the accommodation. I paid for the hotel rate and booked it, but this is a real hostel. There is no fridge in the room and disposable slippers are not provided. No shampoo, conditioner or beauty tissue is provided. The necessary supplies are guided to purchase at a 24-hour kiosk. In the bathroom, there is a water bottle, body shampoo and towel. There is an old family photo posted in the room, but it does not fit with the interior and is scary at night. These three frames are on display for a long time. Dormitories are cheap and good, but if you use this, you absolutely recommend dormitory access.

This sure is an interesting place. Originally, it was a public housing estate converted to a hostel. What it has and many others do not is space. It has lots of open space. It was apparently very popular, with many guests. However, it doesn't really have much service, even if you stay in a twin or double room. Be prepared to bring your own toothbrush and slippers, because these are only for purchase. No fridge in the room to store your cold drinks, although it does have a kettle for you to boil some water, and no free bottled water, either. This is surprising, since these are the standard fair that budget hotels have. The twin room I had was very spacious, almost double what I usually get at a budget hotel. The rooms are not quite sound-proof. I could people talking, and worst still, they moved the furniture at 6am! It may be worth staying here for the experience, but I won't be back.

This place really has a lot going for it. There is a lot of nice space with the courtyards and Cafe. The neighborhood has a lot of good food and reasonable. There is a nice hill right in the back for a short hike. The free breakfast was good. I wasn't a huge fan of the bunk beds in the dorm. The top bunk is very low. If I was in the bottom, it was claustrophobic. And the top was very small with bars all around it, not good for a tall person

Overall I'm quite satisfied with our stay here. The rooms are nice and spacious. Downstairs is a laundromat, restaraunt, work room. Our room was cleaned daily , but for some reason we kept getting only one towel for two people. Some of the improvements the hostel could make is work on customer service experience. Our initial check in could have went a lot smoother, and FRIENDLIER.

Stayed there for a week due to urgent construction at home. it was a old and historial building being renovated and revamped. The room wasn't spacious but overall stay was pleasent. The newly decorated interior gives you a hint of simplicity yet cozy enough. Will recommend to my friends for sure.

a nice walk in there although it was pretty crowded with all the students and tourist, moreover, only a chained/masked pet could walk into the "supposed to be" pet friendly park, does that also counted as "pet friendly", no idea with the rooms/services as we didn't walk into the building this time. nice location with some affordable arcades and sight seeing spots around in the area, and some nice foods too.

As a hostel, itโ€™s definitely a high quality one. It has all basic amenities with a clean and comfortable environment. Donโ€™t mix up the concept of hotel and hostel. Nobody is gonna to serve you in a hostel. Itโ€™s a youth hostel that giving people a safe place to stay and make friends when they travel. Mei Ho house itself is also a story teller which tell the true story and history of hongkonger.

The canteen decided to serve all breakfast to a larger group people first (about 15-20 of their members were lining up behind us) when me and my friend spent 10 minutes to line up and reached the counter (it was about 9 a.m.). We explained to the lady in charged that we were rushing to catch a flight but she spoke to us loudly and said " the large group ordered last night. If you want to eat, you wait, if you can't wait, don't eat" and then she asked us to wait until they finish serving the larger group, which consist of 30-40 people!! It was more disappointed when I told the receptionist and all he did was just "I will see how I can help" and nothing changed after that. The stay was all good until the last day. Me and my friend were really upset with the service at the canteen, especially the canteen lady because we think every customer deserve to have an equal chance to have their breakfast ordered according to the queue. I don't agree for the allowance of ordering the night before too. This is really really unfair for us. Unless this problem is solved, or else, I don't think I will recommend my friends in my home country to stay here next time. Me and my friend were deeply offended by what they lady said to us. How could she said that to us when we paid for breakfast too?

Decent family room with necessary space and facilities. Daily room cleaning and new towels every 3 days. Reasonable standard for this price. Noise insulation was not perfect, fortunately the residents well behaved. Deserve a try.

Nice place. Basic amenities. Nice outdoor space. Great heritage site. The staff is fine, especially when you make an effort to be nice yourself. Good wifi. Limited menu in the restaurant but quality of the food really nice surprise. Just a few issues I had: the beds are very hard. The floor is possibly softer... I actually bought an extra mattress, staying for almost 3 weeks. It was worth it. No fridge in the room. Very loud old airconditioning system. Could do with extended TV signal reception.

Really like the view, they have hiking hills behind. Huge common space, also they have laundry machines, iron, hairdryer downstairs (unlucky they donโ€™t have in sharing room), kitchen with refrigerator and microwave. Very safe, and great neighborhood close with convenience store, bus stop and MTR station, the sharing room with 8 people divided into 2 space, with 2 sharing bathroom, and lockers, each bed has stop contact

Rooms are okay Service is not okay as they say and on the doors note that they change blankets pillow case and towels every 3 days. But they didnt change it at all , even when we told them to change and clean the room. We check in sunday so we expect them to cleanup the room on wed, But they didn't . We ask them again to clean up the room on Thursday and they said okay and we went outside but to our surprise when we comes back no changes at all. Then on friday we checkout in the morning. People are nice and accommodating Overall it was a nice stay, very spacious.

Puzzled for few weeks, why my room full of strong cigarette odor with strong peppermint/hot and spice smell serveral times a day, even after mid-night. Crystal today, around 1900pm when I choked by the strong cigarette smell, then I opened the room-door for fresher air, at that moment, stronger cigarette smoke blowed on to my face, simultaneously i saw a bareheaded man rushed few steps away then squatted-down, extinguished and squeezed his fuming cigarette through the ditch cover in the corridor. He also said in Mandarin that he do not know here is a no-smoking place. Please charge ($1000 or 1500 so-called cleaning fee?) each time for people who smoke in this place. Thank you.

Very to close all kinds of eateries. But yet a quiet location. The check in service is excellent. They offer free luggage storing for free if you check in before 3pm.

An excellent hostel in the city area. Also a place for travelers to meet and plan to explore together. As there are high demand for this type of hostel, travelers should book earlier (e.g. 10 days for the dorms) to make sure there are beds available. I hope YHA can run another hostel like this one in the city area. Do remind that this is a hostel and not a hotel. People who want to stay at a hotel should not choose this one. Tip: If the dorm beds of this hostel are fully or nearly fully booked, the price of dorm beds of other hostels will begin to surge.

Nice and clean place, and it's just a walking distance from Sam Shui Po MTR. They don't provide chiller or fridge though.

This hostel is very affordable and also very accessible to two different mtr stations, Shek Kip Mei and Sum Shui Po. There is also great service here with many helpful people who work here.

Booked for 3 person in a spacious room with 3 single beds. Cozy and clean. Really got the feel of a youth hostel with the shared self paying washing machine and dryer, board games to play, books to read, shared area for group gathering n food sharing, plus the shared fridge for all guests to use (label yr own food policy). During check out, guests are required to bring down own pillow case, blanket cover and bed sheets. Kind of enjoyed the above nostaglic feeling of hostel community living. Location is also nearby eateries and public transport. Located at the back is a hill with steps (good workout with nice scenery to enjoy at top). Recommended for anyone regardless what age or stage of their lives they are at. :)

Great family room, very comfy and spacious for family of 4. Double bed is huge and very comfortable. Close to bus stops and trains and markets. Late check-out for $100HK is well worth it, don't have to leave until 2pm

Clean, nice hostel in a metro friendly location. It included a nice sized breakfast with four options. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Just be aware that check-in is not until 4 pm. You can also pay an extra 100 HKD for a 2 pm checkout time.

It is very negative experience. The ground floor is currently renovating and it is super noisy from Monday to Saturday, 10am to 7pm. If you would like to stay here, better wait until the renovation is over. The wifi is terrible as well.
