What i love most is the location which is about 3mins walking distance from the MongKok MTR (Take Exit D or E). But take note, you have to look for the Wing Wah building instead of the name of Fortune Hotel because this hostel is located inside this building. Also it is walkable to Ladies Market and Sneakers Street. As usual, rooms in HK are small but is quite ok for me being a solo traveler and most importantly it is clean. Rooms are not soundproof thus it can be quite noisy during the evening when the cleaners are talking while cleaning the rooms.

If you're looking for a place to stay I suggest not to book this hotel. Location-wise it's a great place to stay especially for the cheap price. However, at the time my family stayed here there was no flushing of water so you would have to prepare water just to flush the toilet. The bathroom was disgusting, there was sewer water gushing out the drainage every now and then and the bathroom overall was quite dirty. My family did not want to use the bathroom so we had to use the bathroom nearby in McDonald's or in malls. By the time we arrived at the hotel the elevators were broken so we had to carry our luggage up and down the stairs and had to climb 5 floors worth of stairs whenever we wanted to leave. The television was broken and did not want to turn on, the WiFi was really bad and most of the time very unstable. I had to go to the SASA across just to get good WiFi. The walls are paper thin so you could hear the neighbours talking. The staff were a bit rude but not something that makes the experience worse than It already is. It does its job as a place to stay but if you are thinking about staying here I suggest spending a bit more to get a more decent hotel.

The staff were friendly. They spoke no English but they called someone to translate. I used my translation app to help me communicate with them. The only negative thing about the place is that it's slightly hard to find and the doorknob to my room was half falling off. I came back to the room a few times every day expecting to see my room looted after breaking the knob off but it didn't happen. I had a valuable camera at risk.

I arrived at HK past midnight so the only transport available is either the premium buses or the cheap fare buses (N21 or N23). I took the N21 costing HK$23(fixed price) per pax. 27 stops from T1/T2 and alight at Bank Center. Thanks to Google map for all the info. While in the bus there's no need to worry about where you are coz the bus display every INFO "LIVE" including the no. of stops with both Chinese and English and with announcements in both languages too. Lots of rooms space for your luggages in the bus too. Upon arriving at the location, finding this hotel is challenging especially in the middle of the night and when you don't speak Cantonese. According to Google map it takes 1 min but I took more than 20. Read on and you will know why. Firstly, Google map is not showing me the exact location of my position. For example, I've reached Wing Wah Building but I'm shown a spot across the road on my hand phone. So when you are looking for Fortune hotel REMEMBER to look for Wing Wah Building instead. Hotel is located at 5th level of Wing Wah Building. Do note that there are many other hotels and the local residents in this building. Fortune is on 5th level. When out of the service lift its on your right. The impression of the hotel is not like those of 3 or 5 stars hotel so don't be shocked when you enter the small room. In it a super single bed (meant for 2 pax) which is uncomfortable for 2 persons. An attached toilet is squeezed into the room leaving little walking space and your luggage bags. Further, room is not sound proof. Voices and noises can be heard from outside the room. So you are also not spared from the noise coming from the room next to you. Room is clean but every fixtures from air conditioning unit to water heater looks old but functioning well except the noisy exhaust fan up the ceiling. Honestly, I can't bring myself to call it a hotel. It's actually a GUEST HOUSE. The building is big and service lifts are shared by local residents in this 10 storey building. Do not to use the stairs least you will be put off by the "slumps" thrown on every levels. So when out of your room, just walk within the perimeter between your room and the service lift and you will be fine. 3 good points about this hotel. It's within 5 minutes walk to Mongkok MTR, hotel is located in the heart of the popular "Ladies market" and the friendly staff who doesn't speak a single word of English. My 2 cents worth of advice, if you decide to stay in a fairly cheap hotel like Fortune, go for a room equipped with twin beds for comfort.

😠 Completely false advertising. Stayed in a double room that I could lie horizontally across and have my feet and head touching walls. Couldn't even sit on the toilet the bathroom was so small. Can't stand in the shower because the sink is in the way. The bed sheets were covered in stains. The TV does...
