Heartless staff unsympathetic to health needs of guests. I had a sensitive meeting with my psychologist that I needed a private, quiet room for, which this hostel had available. But the manager refused to let me use it for no justified reason other than arbitrary policy. She denied my appeal with the dogmatic obedience of an apparatchik blindly executing the orders of a ruthless superior with callous indifference to the situation. She is a walking illustration of the Communist Party who has clearly squeezed its iron fist around Hong Kong, turning even hostels hostile. As this hostel does not provide wi-fi support in the dorm rooms (too cheap to invest in a router), and as I didn't want to disturb the others in my room, I was forced to take the call in the corridor outside where the sweltering hot, humid air reeked of cigarette stench and cockroaches and rates ran around the floor. Don't subject yourself to this and stay elsewhere with more compassionate staff and few pests.

Fun but mismanaged. The hostel is operated by a group of young people. Sure it's a fun atmosphere at night, when the staffs gather around and chat among themselves. But the catch is, they only talk among themselves and never involve guests. As a guest you'll feel lonely when people're partying but you can't join. (They only talk about stuffs only they know, so even if you want to join, you cant'. Because you don't understand any of their topics.) Also staffs don't know how to do their work. I wanted to book a room on the same day I arrived, so I sent them an email. And they suddenly said 'we don't take same-day reservations' and deleted all available rooms from all websites. (Despite there were 3 available dorms MINITUES before my inquiry). I was confused and sent them emails again, never got replies, and all rooms on all websites were gone. If I booked a room without sending an email I'd have had a place to stay. Instead, just because I sent an email my entire trip was on verge of being jeopardised. And I never got an explation. The dorm room was very smelly, VERY VERY stinky. They had two air-cleaner on but it didn't help. The room was Very smelly. And there were people's stuffs everywhere on the floor. Except your bed, there was no place to do anything and the stinky air makes you want to vomit. I'll never stay in their dorms again (The toilets and showers though, were VERY clean). I think they just had too many long-term guests at the time and those guests never cleaned their dirty socks and stuff, because garbages were everywhere in the floor and it's so stinky, but staffs never did anything about it. It's one of the few hostels in HK and I really want it to survive in the future, if only to drive the HK's expensive hostel rates down. But truth is the truth, and I will not lie about. This place is so stinky, I never, ever want to risk my night again.

Very friendly, accommodating staff. Great English and easy booking. Very clean dorms, with privacy blinds and good WiFi. The other guests were pretty respectful and quiet in the rooms, but if you're a light sleeper, dorms are not for you as there are people exiting and entering the room at all hours. The entrance is a little tricky to find, look for a narrow entrance with a picture of a bird on the inside wall of the entrance

This is a female dorm attached to a bathroom with 2 showers & 2 toilets. We can use any toiletries in the green trolley and you don't have to pack any toiletries basically. Love their bed bunks coz its made of wood instead of steel springs... Hence you won't hear any squeaking sound when someone turns in their sleep. Mattress and pillow are firm, plus a comfy duvet... You'll find this place value for money.

Great hostel. It had great facilities such as a little storage locker and power plug by bedside. Curtains and free towel were an added bonus. Staff was lovely and provided great description on how to get to the hostel with photos which was a great help. Location is a bit further away from most tourist attractions but still had everything you needed around it. Would stay again!

Was a decent hostel. Staff were friendly. Close to all transport. Rooms were okay but the wifi didn’t work me for me in the rooms. The hostel was quite loud throughout the night, didn’t seem to have a curfew.

Beyond Expectations! Excellent stay! Pros: 1. Bus station is just down the stairs and have direct connection from the airport and all other major parts of hongkong. This makes it very easy for the tourists. 2. Bed size was also good - Linen and towel was very clean. The room was air conditioned with 2 ACs and an air purifier. 3. 2 toilets, 3 wash basins and 4 bathrooms : all of these were clean and equipped with good quality toiletries. Also had an air dryer. 4. Iron, charging station, adaptor were available on request. 5. Common area was also nice and had refrigerator, microwave, water dispenser and all the essential tableware. 6. Mini cafe was there where you could order drinks and coffee. Cons: 1. Just that you have to climb a floor to reach here - will have to carry your luggage through a narrow path. Overall, i loved my stay - couldn't have asked for anything better at this price. The staff was also very friendly and responded to all my queries.

Enjoyed my time at Mahjong; good vibes and a comfy and cozy common room. Location is close to an MTR station. Good quality beds. Helpful and friendly staff.

Best hostel in Hong Kong, I highly recommend. The atmosphere is really nice and the staff is the greatest. Very good location with both a subway station and bus stops right next to it. I will return there next time I visit Hong Kong for sure.

This is the absolutely unfriendly host to disabled person ever, they are heartless people. I have informed the host 2 weeks in advance that my leg got injured and I cannot limb up to the upper bed but they still put me at the upper ned very next to street window, it was noisy all night I could not sleep the the whole night at all while 2 other lower beds were empty, no guest. it was really cold and noisy room, what the management team horrible I would not recommend this to anyone has got health problem to stay here I should have reported you to Airbnb instead and asked for a full refund back due to bad services

I have stayed in 3 hostels in HK and this is the best!! Rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious. Staff were really helpful and friendly as well! Octopus card and SIM card are available for purchase/rent if you need it. Room: There's blinds for privacy, personal bed light, plug for charging, hangers for clothes/towel, mini locker compartment. Bathroom: Towels are provided and there's shower amenities and hair dryers in the bathroom. The showers are equipped with heater and strong water pressure which are adjustable. Common area: 24hrs spacious lounging area with fridge and microwave! There's also an outdoor lounging area for smoking. I am not a smoker but I think smokers will appreciate this facility as other hostels have a no smoking policy. Overall a really clean and cosy hostel! I would definitely come back if I am ever visiting Hongkong again. ☺️

Stayed here for two days recently while I was in HK. The rooms are clean. Bathrooms are clean too. Staff is friendly. They also provide sleepers, towels and toiletries. The place has been designed meticulously. I liked the way they have depicted the Mahjong trivia through various posters, pictures and objects. It's by far one of the most popular hostels in Hong Kong which means you will always find other fellow backpackers to mingle and socialize. This may not happen so much in other hostels. ( At least I didn't feel the same vibe in a couple of other hostels i stayed in). Downside (not much of) is that location is not exactly in the heart of the HK, meaning there will be some travelling time. But that too is quite manageable. You have an mtr station and bus stop nearby offering amazing connectivity. I would give a big shoutout to these guys and rate 10/10.

An excellent hostel which was cheap, clean, had good security locks on little cupboards in the beds, and excellent toilet and shower facilities. There were friendly staff who were more than willing to help on any issues such as places to visit during rain, and generally a very friendly culture, particularly compared to some of the other hostels Hong Kong has to offer!

Nice atmosphere hostel. Well provided dorms with reasonable size beds equipped with full privacy shade, personal safe, light and outlet. Large open view on the neighboring high rises and busy street from the common area. Free coffee and tea. As most places in Hong Kong, the access stairway are scarily dirty but once inside it's all comfort.

Bus stops are super close. Beds all have a curtain and locker, showers and toilets are nice. Everything is clean. Aircon didn’t work as well in our room (shared F dorm) and the entry is very creepy. Overall a good place to stay!

This is by far the best place I've ever stayed, all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the entire place is kept unbelievably clean and the other people staying there were amazing to talk to in the common area (which is open 24 hours) there's plenty of nearby restaurants, corner shops, and a direct bus to HK airport (A22) right outside the hostel. The beds were comfy and the price was more than reasonable! Would completely recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in HK.

Absolutely the best hostel in Hong Kong. Lovely host. Incredibly clean. It seemed you could get a bus from outside the hostel to just about anywhere in Hong Kong. Supermarkets and food outlets very close by. And a very diverse set of guests seem to stay at this hostel with a lounge room conducive of meeting other guests.
