This is an authentic local Hong Kong eatery. It’s inside an indoor wet market. I used to live just a few blocks down in the area, but this place didn’t exist then. It’s big and very crowded. Even after 11pm on a weekday, it was still packed. The food was good, very local HK style. Not the cleanest place, but as expected. I think the price could have been lower, since it’s so casual, but it’s not. Still, I had a good time, as I was meeting friends I hadn’t seen in years.

Stall owners dump fish on dry counters to slowly suffocate to death because this gives off the feeling of ‘freshness’. This is despite the fact that fish not only feel pain but can experience complex positive and negative emotions. It’s an awful practice that violates the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Ordinance, and has to end. When the buying stops, the killing can too.

1 of the stall here is serving halal food. Look for wai kee (if you could read chinese), stall no 5. To get to this food court you have to pass by the wet market. They are very famous with their mutton curry and duck rice. If you dont mind about the environment this is one of the place to try

Went there specifically to try out the mutton curry. Definitely worth the trip. Tried both the mutton with noodles and beef curry. Highly recommended

It's a place for locals. Foreigners may feel overwhelmed and have difficulty placing their orders.

Mutton curry is as always authentic taste similar to Indian/Pakistani food. Mild spicy, so it's also good for Chinese people. Chicken curry has a bit sweet flavour, but overall good. Roasted duck is as per Hong Kong standard. Overall good experience, must visit for better food and cheap price.

It is located in the mid way of Wanchai and CWB mtr, providing different kinds of lower price meals to their customers. You can take a lift to the 2nd floor in the street next to the wet market. Wai Kee, 九記牛什粉麵,波仔記車仔麵 and 海記燒臘 are the most popular restaurants here. The dinning environment is acceptable with plenty of tables and in air conditioning. For today's lunch, tried 海記燒臘. In their menu, they can provide steamed pork ribs, steamed fish, roasted goose/duck, BBQ pork and etc. with a bowl of rice and soup. A lunch set will cost about $50. Ordered steamed fish and curry mutton. The portion is big but the taste is just average.

If you like chinese rice roll, there is a very nice chinese congee, rice roll in. I would definately order pig liver rice roll with lots of soy sauce! Yummy!

I've eaten at the halal restaurant in this food center a few times now and it's always left me satisfied. Their curry is supposedly famous but personally I'm especially partial towards their roasted duck on rice. The dish comes with a generous serving of the juiciest most tasteful chunk of duck Ive ever had. If you don't mind the busy, seemingly chaotic, food court setting and like good food, this place is a must try. There are also many other varieties of food served by other restaurants that I've been meaning to try and judging by the satisfied looks on other diners I don't think you can go wrong with anything. 👍👍

Always busy local market with a variety of produce. You can also find southeast Asian food products here. But go somewhere else if you're looking for western fresh or dry herbs.
