Last night, I indulged in an exquisite Shanghainese feast that struck a harmonious balance between traditional authenticity and innovative culinary artistry. The experience was nothing short of a gastronomic journey through Shanghai's rich and diverse food culture. The highlight of the evening was the Shark Fin Soup with Chicken and Chinese Ham. This dish was a symphony of flavors, with the delicate taste of shark fin wonderfully complemented by the robust, savory notes of chicken and Chinese ham. Each spoonful was a revelation, an intricate dance of flavors that left me yearning for more. The portion was also commendably generous, serving as a fitting tribute to the grandeur of the dish. Next in line was the Xiao Lung Bao with Crab Roes. Now, one expects a certain standard of excellence from this quintessential Shanghainese delicacy, and I'm pleased to report that it didn't disappoint. Each dumpling was a tiny package of delight, the delicate skin holding a treasure of succulent meat and rich, briny crab roes. It was a taste of the sea and land in one bite, a mélange of flavors that was both comforting and exciting. The Szechuan-style Duck was another high point of the evening. The duck was cooked to perfection, with the skin rendered to a tantalizing crispiness while the meat underneath remained tender and juicy. The Szechuan spices added a thrilling kick, their heat balanced by the duck's natural richness. Each bite was a testament to the chef's skill in combining these bold flavors. Finally, the Pan-fried Eel with Scallion in Shanghai Style was an absolute triumph. The eel was beautifully cooked, with a tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture that was simply divine. The scallions added a fresh, bright note that cut through the richness of the eel, while the pan-frying process brought a delightful hint of smokiness to the dish. This was a perfect example of how simple ingredients can be transformed into a dish of stunning complexity and depth. In conclusion, last night's dinner was a splendid showcase of Shanghainese cuisine at its finest. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, making for a dining experience I won't soon forget. From the lavish Shark Fin Soup to the humble Xiao Lung Bao, the fiery Szechuan Duck to the delicate Pan-fried Eel, every dish was a joy to savor. If you're seeking a taste of Shanghai's culinary heritage, look no further.

I think the Shanghainese food is good. Or the few dishes we had were good. Service by delivery personnel could improve as they act like they are in char chan teng. Not professional. They are more expensive which I can accept but service really needs improvement.

Visited with a large group. So many dishes shared and each that I had was amazing. The best was the egg coated chilli prawns which were amazing. Best I have ever tasted.

Really an old restaurant but it still keeps its standard after all those years. Our friends will remember this restaurant every time once we want to have Shanghai cuisine. Reasonable price and delicious food. Wines are brought by us.

A traditional Sheunghai restaurant with good price. Too fast food serving but overall quality is above average. A bit pricey.

One of the most authentic Shanghainese restaurant in town. The Shanghainese dim sum is great, and price is reasonable.

Just me and my husband eating at this restaurant. Food is very good. I’ll be back for sure. My only lament is that the portion is for a table of at least 4 diners and above. Not great for 2 pax. There’s only one size but food was yummy! Too hungry. Forgot to take some good photos. That shouldn’t stop couple from coming though. Just bring along your containers for takeaway!

Many choices of native shanghai cuisine and they say the main shop have a better cook than the shop in hong kong side .the price is a bite more expansive than you expected.

Very scammy people. Multiple errors on the bill. Then they say their card machine “broke down” and they force me to go get cash. It seems their machine is always broken and they just want to save a couple dollar on the fees.

Seasoned old style Chinese cuisine with top rated preserved eggs and shrimp as appetizers. Also braised shark fin with soup is of another top choice, but to me it is a bit salty. Overall dine-in ambience is old setting but comfort, and with unexpected good quality of washroom. But be reminded that spending per head is not low to HK$2,000

👍 Great fried rice with ham and vegetable Our favourite was the tasty smoked pigeon in sichuan Silky tofu was another favourite Tasty diced chicken in sauce Hot and sour soup was nice Fast service 👎 Itd be great if apple pay was accepted Cleaning the tables next to us and slamming the plates was unnecessarily loud while we’re eating.

This is my first visit to this restaurant ever since its move to the current address some 7 years ago. I am pleasantly surprised because the standard of food is much better than the old days. Besides food quality and presentation, the service is top class. My friends and I have thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful evening.

Extremely bad service here. We called for rice. Took them a good 20 mins to get two bowl of rice for us. The waitress attitude is extremely bad. Never waited so long for two bowls of rice. They think we do not have choices for dinner. Pls skip if you are in a rush for food.

Old style decorations. Food is ok, but not the best offer, maybe they are very busy at the moment when i visit. The shrimp are over salted and the sweet and sour fish is a bit overcooked

Quality and delicious food in an old style Shanghainese Restaurant. The restaurant ‘s trade mark is visible from a distance and it has many loyal customers. Our visiting old friends from UK chose it for our reunion on Jan 31, 2019!

Their service is the major contribution to the low rating. I would say they are rude, impolite and bizarre. The quality of food was just fair, we are not mean but wasn't able to give a good comment on our overall dining experience. They brought us the bill at 9:30pm, it's a Friday night in TST area, how can you believe they are ready to close at 10pm? They mean it seriously as they had someone standing next to us making sure we notice they want us to leave.

Excellent service from the friendly staff that have been here since I was a youngster. Very authentic, tasty Shanghai fare. The pink menu with the chef's recommendations is also worth looking at.
