No one explained the afternoon tea menu to us. Two savoury pumpkin cheese tarts were served on a tea saucer which was a bit surprising. The taste was subtle but the temperature could have been hotter. Then, the tea set arrived. Scones were in the bottom tier, sandwiches in the middle and sweets on top. Pretty standard but again there was no explanation. I was expecting some brief introduction of food items as part of the service but it didn’t happen. Scones were warm and jams were okay. The clotted cream amount was a bit stingy to my liking. Sandwiches and wraps were okay. I liked the chicken coronation filling. The ham and cheese sandwich was like supermarket sandwich. They could have used slightly better ham and cheese for this price. The sweets are quite disappointing. Only one out of those four was edible/presentable. Some garnish felt off from the mini cakes and some cracked. There was one dessert counter that served waffles, crepes, fresh fruit, macaroons, chocolate and gelato ice-cream. These are okay but again very underwhelming for the price. Staff members were helpful but not particularly welcoming. I couldn’t believe this was Grand Hyatt quality if I am really honest. It used to be better.

First of all, I love the fact that there’s no Chinese dishes or other non-western dishes at the dinner buffet. Those Asian dishes are the ones that I always avoid at any buffet. So I don’t I don’t feel like I missed out anything. Love the fresh oyster. Although they are really small, they are fair fresh. Love that their staff open the oysters on the spot and refills are pretty fast. The place is also not overly crowded, so there’s no need to fight for the food. There’s no limit on how many fish oysters you can take each time. The homemade smoked salmon are amazing. Not overly oily and definitely not dry. Their salads are fresh and the cheese are good. Their beef Wellington is a little bit salty for my taste. Love the foie gras. Not overly seared. Just cooked right. Very juicy and thick. I love how the Apple or pair that they paired with complement the foie gras. The toast it is on it’s very light and fluffy. Making it a sin to just eat the foie gras and not the bread. They also served the fight onion rings and fish. Both deep fried just right. The batter is not too thick. Didn’t like that desserts though. All the cakes in the fridge tasted the same. The texture was not good. They have a different exterior, but the taste is similar which is mixed berries and chocolate. They have quite a wide selection of ice cream, which is good. For the breakfast buffet, they serve the same items as a grande café. The food was good, service is great. A great way to start today. For the afternoon tea set, it comes in a really cute three layer box. The savory layer is the best. Just like the desserts at the buffet, not a fan of the sweet ones.

The Christmas buffet here was amazing 🤩 A great selection of fresh seafood, classic Christmas dishes, charcuterie style cuts, desserts, etc! Although the main dishes were great, my favourite were the selection of cakes, macarons, chocolates, and ice creams 🤤 The ambience was also great with a view of the beautiful Christmas tree and live music from the piano. Went here for the high tea, food presentation on the silver stand was excellent & they tasted good. They served unlimited homemade ice cream, 5 or 6 different flavors, crepes & waffle, (served from behind the counter) Macaroons & pralines also available. I tasted the vanilla ice cream with the crepes, it was good. The service was lacking attention, when we first sat down, there were a lot of staff around since they have to set up our table, but I noticed that after all the guests were seated & tables were set up all of a sudden they were only 2 or 3 staff around, very difficult to asked for extra utensils or hot water. Another thing, when I ordered my crepes from the counter, I noticed that there were a dessert item that I wasn't familiar with, when I ask about it to the staff serving behind the counter what it was, his answer was: "I don't know, why don't you just try it?"
