I recently had the opportunity to try the dinner buffet at Cafe Kool, but unfortunately, my experience was not very pleasant. The restaurant was very crowded and noisy, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. Additionally, I was disappointed with the limited variety of food available, which left me feeling unsatisfied. In terms of the quality of the food, it was only average, and nothing really stood out as particularly delicious or memorable. Overall, I was left feeling underwhelmed by the experience. While I appreciate the effort that the restaurant put into offering a buffet-style dinner, I would not recommend Cafe Kool to anyone looking for a high-quality dining experience.

This restaurant is inside Kowloon Shangri-la Hotel, where is near exit of Tsim Sha Tsui East station. It mainly focuses on buffet whenever lunch and dinner time. Seafood, Chinese food, grilled steaks, sushi, desert, salad are served here, especially Indian food, which is more choices and outstanding.

Seafood no good. Dessert is okay. I reserved a table for my 10th anniversary n requested a table with a good view. They mixed up my reservation with someone else. The waiter served us tea or coffee only upon our request n when he asked us to settle our bill.

I was disappointed with variety of choice at this lunch buffet, this restaurant's buffet was supposed to be about its seafood? The seafood selection had no oysters, no crab legs, no lobster, no scallops not even crayfish? Its main food stations offered local Chinese food and Indian curry? The salad station and dessert station were a disaster, the cakes were dry and tasteless, the salad was a poor assortment of vegetables, most people just kept on walking when they looked at the salad bar! Unfortunately, this buffet is a let down and it would be many years before I re-consider this place again.

Stayed at the hotel and we decided on buffet so that we can just try a little of each type of the food. So very disappointed. Still having a headache now. It was so NOISY, worse than the coffeeshop. Can't believe this is is 5 star hotel, I never face anything like this before in Hong Kong nor anywhere else. How can the hotel tolerate such rowdiness. I took the lobster and was shocked it stinks! Could not eat that and spoilt my appetite. The crab leg is salty and not fresh too. Luckily there was wrapped roasted duck. Took some salmon sashimi which is average. The prawns tempura was bad but brinjal ok. Dessert a failure. Hubby just took some Malay and Indian rice. My experience with the hotel was so awesome as you can see from posts. Can't believe this should spoil my last night here. The juice are not even fresh juice but sweetened drinks. Thank God they could give us hot chocolate. Unbelievable. The stay in the hotel has been excellent. The hotel room, amenities and service has been top notch and excellent. I have never given 1 star review before. This is my very first.

Excellent food and good service. At this price level it's expected though. You can't go wrong here with the food. They have something for everyone. It's not bargain prices but they don't claim to be a budget restaurant either. An excellent place for an occasional gathering!

Made reservation via the hotel app. Visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and it was not that crowded. It was Halloween season so the restaurant was nicely decorated, staff were dressed up in costumes and food items were Halloween theme. Service was good and there was a variety of food from Western, Japanese to local.

Had a weekend lunch buffet, and the selection at Kowloon is smaller than the Pacific Place (Admiralty) facility. I would rate the Pacific Place as a 4 star selection, since they have ten times the customers and much faster turnover in dishes. The Kowloon site is very nice and very similar in size, however as there are much fewer customers, the quality and freshness of the foods did not keep up with their sister location. Note: fresh raw oysters are available here, shucked when you order them from the counter.

I've been to so many 5-star hotel restaurants. But this time, i walked in for a meal with mate to this hotel. All I could say was that it was way too pricey for the type of food and selection we ate at this restaurant. I'm happy to pay more to eat in a nice hotel restaurant but didn't like the quality of food and selection. Service was very good by the waitress.

Variety may not be as much as at other buffets but sufficient (for me); a good mix of both western and eastern cuisine and an attractive dessert selection. I enjoyed the salad and cheese although they could’ve done with a bigger cheese selection (extra mature English Cheddar please!) and not enough crackers! I also enjoyed the curries and the beef bourguignon, fish fillet and fish fingers 😝 It’s a chill place to relax with family or friends😘! The decor is warm and inviting and the acoustics is good, meaning it never seems too noisy. Although I would prefer an unlimited self service supply of coffee, the coffee here (only one per person) is better than at most other places; and I like how they serve the milk, piping hot, on the side.

Food was good with quite a few varieties. Lunch buffet started at noon ended song 2:30.. beware you were only to get one drink. Juice or coffee/ tea.. for a suppose 5 star hotel. That's rather shocking to say the least..

I went for a buffet dinner. There were a lot of choices for food to suit the tastes of different people. Food quality was good but the services from the attendants could be better. They should have proactively asking for serving our drinks instead of having to ask them if drinks were included in the bill.

It's a buffet. You can expect many different cultural food. Most of them are enjoyable. Service are quite good for a buffet style restaurant. The restaurant is not cramped with customers like many others.

Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Not surprised that it was quite crowded, as HK people love their breakfast. Very good variety in the spread, from dimsum to laksa to a live omlette station. Staff were attentive.

Lobster serve one per person. Shocked. There are many better choice in this price range.

Many foods you would expect at such an expensive buffet are not there. Their food quality has deteriorated a lot since my last visit.

Nice selection of food. Whiles lobsters weren’t all you can eat, they had oysters which were. Favorite would be the roast beef which was middle rare as well as the chinese soup which was so flavorful. Service was friendly and seatings was spacious. Desserts options aren’t as much as the Cafe Too. More on the pricier side of buffet while the variety isn’t a lot and you don’t find expensive ingredients but the dishes you could tell they put some effort to it, worth a try.

I know buffet should provide all kinds of food for customer however their Siu Mei store serve Red Sausage which is bit cheap from my perspective. Some of the store provide custom order food such as cook noodle or Indian food or Italian pasta, the idea is very good however if you could provide a small table number token on the dinning table, the customer could order and give the token to the cook, then one of your server deliver the food to the table, which reduce the queue and more effective. Also, during pandemic precautions still live, if customer forgot to put on mask when they leave their table, please ask your staff be polite to the customer rather then THIS IS AN ORDER, as I heard at least two times your staff not using appropriate tones when requesting customer to put on mask. So far the experience is moderate.
