The food is delicious and the prices are even better! Love it when aware winning food is unpretentious and affordable for all. The noodles were cooked perfectly wherein it's not too soft not too hard. The soup itself is super delicate with nice umami taste. Only downside was the wait but then again, that's how you know it's great!

When this pandemic ends (hopefully won’t be too far from now!) I want to go Hong Kong to eat all the yummy food again!! & on my to-eat list, Mak’s Noodle is one of the must go place! Their famous thin yet springy noodle & plump wontons are really good! We ate more than one bowl each as it was so good that you won’t be able to resist 😋😋 My girl enjoyed their wonton noodles so much that she asked if can take a picture with the chef who was very kind and friendly 🥰 If you are in Hong Kong or plan to go Hong Kong in the near future, go try it! Do bear in mind is not quite near MTR station so be prepared to walk a bit but you can eat more when you are there :)

Went in for afternoon tea in October20. It was off peak hour, so they allow us to order one noodle to share! The environment was clean and service was good. Staffs were happy to serve us. We ordered and shrimp and pork dumpling noodle. The dumpling is put at the bottom while the noodles on top. This is to prevent the noodle from getting soggy and soft. The tv inside the restaurant shows how the noodles and dumplings were made. It also introduce the history of wonton noodles.

Famous & old Cantonese noodle shop in town which used to be amongst the top. Now competition much keener & their noodle quality not as good as before & not short of MSG. Noodle texture still good. Grossly overpriced.

Excellent hand made wonton noodle on wellington Street. The dumpling is great too! Portion is pretty small however.

No doubt wonton noodle is good. But the portion is quite small for the price you are paying. Won't walk out full if you're just eating that one dish. And by the time you order a few more dishes to fill up, suddenly it's the most expensive wanton noodle eat out you've ever had! Ok to try once, but not sure if it's worth coming back over and over again

This is another longstanding local eatery (noodle shop) in Central. The quality of the food has been consistently excellent. The signatures are their wonton, pork dumplings and beef tendon noodles. The homemade noodles are fine and chewy and the soup has no MSG so you won't feel thirsty afterwards. However, don't expect it to be a big portion. They have always been using those small Chinese bowls for soup noodles, so an adult person normally needs 2 portions of noodles to feel something in the tummy. Also maybe due to its longstanding name, the staff and owner really have some attitude. But if you ignore that, it's a good place to enjoy traditional Cantonese noodles.

A Michelin, long history, traditional Wonton Noodle can not be missed whenever my stomach has room in Central! There are many items on menu, but my favourite is simple Signature Wonton Noodle and broil green….. Hand picked tender green Guy Lan broil to perfection, drip of hot pork oil to glaze, just like french fries in duck fat, serve with good non overly salty oyster sauce, yum. Then my main attraction WTN, since it originally a snack therefore portion is small. 4 oz of fresh made egg noodle, exquisite simmered Earth Fish soup & 4 one mouthful wontons! I enjoy it in my own sequence, first finish the wontons, then drain all the soup with the spoon and finally noodle with red vinigar…. heavenly! Being a locally borned Chinese, knowing the difference of WTN, only a few shops stand out in a jungle, yum!

Awesome authentic local wanton noodle shop. Small and cosy shop to have some Wanton noodle. They also have beef brisket noodle. The food is delicious. Location is fantastic. Facing main road and bus stop. Must come to try it

One of the original Mak's Noodle located in Central, I always try to visit this restaurant when I'm in Hong Kong. The noodles are relatively thinner and bouncy compared to other noodle restaurants, the pastry of the wonton is also perfect. The soup is clear and brings out the flavour perfectly. I also took the opportunity to try the try the shrimp roe mixed noodle which was also satisfying. Food came out promptly and staff were friendly. Although it seemed to be slightly different to when I used to come here, the noodles were made well. Will recommend. 👍🍜😋

Portion-size is extremely underwhelming. i read reviews of this place before coming here and i saw that people complained about the portion-size here too. i didn’t plan to dine here but because family unfriendly tsim chai kee noodle next door didn’t let my family of 6 in, i had to opt for this place. the staff was fine. they were smiling at us when we came in but lowkey gave us a look after we ordered only 4 bowls for 6 people and the fact that we said no to their tea. tea in hong kong restaurant is served to you automatically but it’s not free - it’s usually around 15hkd per person which is quite wild. you have to tell them that you don’t want tea if you don’t want to be charged, also the tea isn’t even good lol. our bill totaled to around 300hkd and this place doesn’t accept credit cards. the pictures below are the shrimp wonton bowl (can’t see the wontons because they’re underneath lol) and shrimp+pork wonton bowl. a family member of mine ordered a dry shrimp wonton noodles (not stir-fry because it’s literally just egg noodles with some sauce on top) and it was 70hkd - crazy price btw. food was meh.

A tiny clean restaurant that serves excellent wonton noodles. The beef tendon was also very good.

Mak’s Noodles serves up the best Hong Kong wanton mee and sui gao (dumpling noodles). I had the sui gao and it was superb. Service is extremely prompt despite the crowds and the shop feels relatively clean though a tad cramped.

the soup feels like it is just water and msg, the wantan noodles itself tasteless. the wonton is very well done tho, so it gets 4/5 stars for the wonton, the rest 1/5 star lol. the uncles are friendly compared to other restaurants in HK, so 4/5 for service. environment is reasonably comfortable. ok ok la. try once, but hard to find a reason to come back again. really too light in flavour. in HK standard i think can give 4/5, compared to Msia wantan mee, i think nid to give this 1/5 star lol.

Less than 5 min wait at 7:50pm on a Thursday. Food came within 5 mins. We ordered four of the signature wonton noodles. Serving size is quite small and people do tend to get 2-3 dishes pp however we were saving our appetite for a second dinner. Wontons were delicious, and noodles were the perfect texture - not too soft and not too hard.

Mak’s noodle is famous and has a few outlets in hk. Noodles of course are great, ordered the wonton brisket and dumpling noodle However the forever complaint is the very small portions My neighbouring table ordered the signature wonton noodle and it looks the size of a rice bowl. Don’t know how people find that filling ?

The food are so good during the pandemic time at taste as good as before with the price almost unchanged

  • 5/5 Alon S. 1 year ago on Google
Still as good as always. Come for then wanton, but try the shrimp roe noodle, or oyster sauce and vegetable. There are cheaper places in hk, but this is my core memory, Central experience. Worth the visit.

Favourite wonton noodles. Tried TST shop but I think Central shop have the best taste. Staff are friendly and helpful

We ordered the wonton and dumpling. We loved the wonton and dumplings, the soup was really good too. So far this was the best wonton and dumplings and the price was reasonable.

Look at the size of the wonton noodle! I was actually a bit shocked that it was this snack-sized bowl that came to my table, considering it was $45! Needless to say, I was still hungry afterwards. The good thing about this place is that the seating and environment is better than your average noodle shop. they provide tea (free), napkins, and condiments in a nicely presented way. Are all these luxuries worth the markup in price? Probably not. If you’re actually looking for a decent portion of noodles for a meal, I’d opt for the one just across the street. The noodle portion is maybe 2-3x, and their wonton sizes are way bigger too. Mak’s, however, has definitely got a more delicate-ness in it’s noodle, soup, and wonton. So if it’s quality you’re looking for, this lil bowl would make quite a nice snack for a wonton noodle fix.

Great noodle with great soup! Very worth the price and time for queue!

Mak Noodles is a famous cha chaan teng (Hong Kong style cafe) that specialises in wonton noodles. They have several branches around the city including this eatery on Wellington Street in Central. Opening hours are 11am to 9pm, the restaurant is full most of the day but tables turn over quickly, usually around 20-25 minutes. Expect a short queue if eating at peak lunch or dinner hours. If you are ready to order upon being seated, you have food on the table in no more then 3-4 more minutes. There will be English speaking staff to take orders. Menus on on the table and are in Cantonese and English. Note that serving sizes are small. As such, Mak's feels rather pricey compared to your usual cha chaan teng. The wonton soup at Mak's has a heavy prawn presence - which can be a good thing if you like seafood flavoured broth and not such a great thing if not. Recently had pork & prawn wanton that tasted good. Bowl had four wontons. We also had the beef brisket noodles served in soup. This was better, the noodles are tiny but had a nice fragrance and taste. The beef was tender as well. Another dish tried recently was the stirred noodle with pork sauce. This was a bit spicy, a nice change from the wanton and broth soup bowls at Mak's Noodle. In the end, is the food good at Mak's Noodles? Yes! Is it really the best in Hong Kong? Probably not. But this is most likely the most famous wanton specialist in the city, which means loads of tourists will want to give it a try while seeking out popular historic eateries around Hong. Join the queue if you have time and interest.

Dumplings were the best so far, with juicy pork and crunchy prawn fillings. Soup was delicious as well, superior broth as they would like to be known. Be warned however that noodle portions were laughably small. Be prepared for a second helping unless you're really just there for taste testing.

Most incredible noodles place I've ever visited. The broth was simply delectable, the noodles full of shrimp wontons flavor that were part of the dish. The place is small, but good things come in small packages. The service was quick and very friendly. At one point they saw one of us struggling with long noodles and actually brought scissors to cut them in pieces! That was definitely a first. Funny, yet helpful. Apparently, they are also Michelin starred. You won't go wrong with this place.
