3.5 stars for the food - Set your expectations low because the food is good but not great. For what they charge, the food shouldn’t be as good as any other Italian restaurant in Hong Kong - it should be better… much better. Sadly, the bread and the cheesecake are the only standouts. As for the other dishes, I’m betting, if you like and cook Italian at home, you can make better yourself. 4 stars because - the staff give excellent service and, the ambience transports you to New York.

A Guide to Carbone: To Avoid Traps. If you wanna enjoy the excellency of the food in Carbone, there are a few things you would need to be aware of, otherwise, an unpleasant experience might occurred during the dinning and the check :) 1. Order TAP WATER when you sit down (Fail to apply and listened to the overly ambitious waiter ordering the sparkling water.....68 HKD per person charge shall be appeared on your final tab 😈 Yep! Water for $68 PER PERSON!) 2. Avoid DESSERT (There is a reason why the dessert menu stays hidden 👻 as its price is like the bull market in the stock exchange. One slice of cake could easily changed from $188 on August to $218 on October in the same year....😈 please note: it’s One slice of cake!) Which explains the constant noise of birthday songs on almost every table, with a birthday, a slice of cake could go from $218 to $0.... 3. Bring your HEADPHONES! Your wish for an authentic quiet fine dining experience shall not be granted. Instead, an authentic nightclub experience would refresh your fine dinning memory :) With almost every table weirdly having a birthday, the music volume, the “joyful” waiters, the selfies and the screaming somewhat make it a perfect harmony as if experiencing a brand new Taylor Swift concert, only with the noise of the crazy fans, of course 🙃 4. Check your BILL! Otherwise, you shall not be able to spot yourself being charged on two extra cocktails which could worth around $400 + service charge. Follow the guide, you shall enjoy the food and easily avoid the water+dessert+cocktail traps. 5 star for the chef. 0 star for the sneaky business strategy.

Tried steak, pasta and dessert here for dinner. Honest comment: food quality is just average, portion is super small. CP value is very low. 8 of us got packed at sofa area, experience wasn't that good. Not recommended 👎🏻

I was alone and I was trying my luck so I walk-in here last night, they were so busy I ended up eating on the bar! Which was probably the best thing that happened. This is my second time here, first one was dinner with my colleagues. Their host was very welcoming, they me that they currently do not have a table but I can have some drinks at the bar while they figure out how long the next table will be. Their manager Charles approached me and had a quick chat with me and sent me some bread and salami to start with at the bar. I really didn’t mind at all as I was enjoying watching their bar tender made drinks theatrically. I think his name is Abe. I asked for a negroni to start and it was very good so i stuck to that. There’s another manager named Jack who spoke to me and has asked me if I want to start eating at the bar instead and he will keep me company. I ordered the Caesar salad and the famous Rigatoni. It is both LIT! It’s so good I was so full at the end of my dinner. I skipped dessert as I wanted more room for drinks. I will definitely come back! Especially for a late night dinner, my favourite spot is at the bar now! I don’t mind standing and eating with an amazing vibe and team to keep me company! Keep it up CARBONE. See you soon.

Such a fun time dining here! Cozy and lively atmosphere, and absolutely delicious dishes; I must say, the spicy rigatoni truly lives up to the hype. Just so good in every bite! Limoncellos were also nice to have with our meal, and our tummies immediately made room the minute the dessert trolley came by. Portions for the dessert were way bigger than expected, so it’s perfect for sharing. Staff were also super friendly and upbeat, taking care of us and made sure our experience was great (which it definitely was!). Definitely would love to come back when I can to try more stuff on the menu. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an elegant Italian-American style restaurant, this place is definitely worth stopping by.

Came to Carbone with my husband for a Saturday lunch. The set lunch for two people is to order one antipasti or macaroni, one secondi, and one dessert as this restaurant is “family style.” $488 per person. We got the rigatoni, which was my favorite part of the meal. The flavor was on point and I don’t think that’s always easy to do with pasta but this restaurant nailed it. The steak was delicious and flavorful and the tiramisu was decadent and exquisite. Lots of drink options as well. Food was good per other Black Sheep restaurants but I’m still not sure if it was worth the money especially given the family style option. I’m also not sure if a meatball for $108 was worth it though it was delicious. That’s just my opinion though. Service was great and it was an overall lovely experience for two parents that needed a little break and time for themselves. Go to Carbone for a good time in a restaurant with kind service and a homey but classy ambiance.

The dining atmosphere was fantastic but the food was so-so. I expected the pork chop to be juicy and tender but it turned to be dry and tough. The pasta was the best dishes of all, al dente and the sauce was delicious. The service was good. It’s a nice place to go to for celebrations but if you aim for some really good food, it might not be the best choice.

Great service and atmosphere. Branzino, meatballs and rigatoni are the highlights of a very good menu of food served family style. Wines are not unreasonable but bar is overpriced so ask first!

Amazing food and amazing service. Price is on the high side but it was worth it! $98HKD for free flow still water, but cheese, bread, salami, etc were all on the house. The service is something to remember - was greeted the moment I stepped out of the lift, and by each staff (bartender, waiter, etc) all the way to my table. We ordered the burrata, vodka rigatoni and meatballs - all amazing. Take note that portions are fairly huge so order with caution! Shoutout to Saahil our waiter (i hope i got your name right) for his impeccable service and friendly conversation :) Music can get a tad loud sometimes but overall the experience was amazing. Cant wait to be back!

2 stars for food. 3 stars for service. 0 stars for value. $256 for one piece of cake 😂😂 and almost $300 for a bowl of pasta in cream and tomato sauce. Their burrata is also flavorless and not creamy. Had to ask for their their bread basket three times just to get it again. Full review on openrice @eatwai

Loved the carpaccio and the bread. Rigatoni and meatballs were a bit salty for my taste. Probably will visit again just for the ambience alone.

Carbone is a place to try for sure, go without hesitation. I recommend effortlessly this cool restaurant with a classy American Italian design, food is great and they can really listen to complains, and adjust. They rocks… feel free to go and enjoy their generosity and Italian dishes. Don’t forget the coffee! It’s a delight!

Excellent service but Food is average and overpriced Beautiful decoration in the restaurant with welcoming staff! All the staff from the lady at reception to bar tender and waiters were all friendly. They have good knowledge of the menu and were happy to explain the menu. It was my friend’s birthday so they were very nice to prepare a candle for the dessert and sang Happy Birthday! Service is definitely 5 🌟 However, quality food has to be improved given the price. Especially for dessert - one piece of normal tiramisu costing HKD200... probably the most expensive tiramisu I’ve ever had.

Horrible horrible place. So loud you cannot hear yourself think let alone engage in any sort of conversation. Why does a restaurant have to be so loud?? I love ‘50’s music but shouldn’t there be areas in the dining room where you can escape that kind of volume? The food took forever to arrive and it was all bland, with no seasoning, and served room temperature / cold. We had to ask for salt, pepper and olive oil to enhance some flavor and inject some life into the dishes. Mario’s “famous” meatballs were raw and cold (see pic). The service was incredibly slow as well and pretentious. The saving grace was the barman who acknowledged our having to wait forever to be seated and told us the cocktails were on him.

Exceptional experience, completely transported us back to Italian American fair. Food and taste was just as if we’re dining in nyc, the birthday singing all over made the experience extra special. Def value for money

(Translated by Google) The American restaurant is more crowded but has an atmosphere. The cooking is first-class and the price is reasonable. The corkage fee is $800, and the cake cutting fee is $58 per person, which is very expensive in Hong Kong and Kowloon. (Original) 美式餐厅,比较挤迫,但有气氛。厨艺一等一,价钱合理。开瓶费$800,切饼费$58每个人,贵绝港九。

Highly recommend, especially for special occasions! The service was excellent; the servers were knowledgable, polite, and warm. Ordered 1 starter, 1 salad, 2 mains, and 1 side dish, as advised by our server, Sapana, which was the perfect amount for 4 people. The food was great. Lobster ravioli wasn't massive but was so delicious. The ginger ice cream was also very unique and tasty. The complimentary bread, cheese, and salami made for much appreciated nibbles while we browsed the menus. My only issue was that the restaurant was a bit loud with the music and everyone talking - it's not the quietest restaurant if that's what you're looking for, but this reflects how popular Carbone is and does give the restaurant a lively atmosphere. Overall, our meal was delicious and everyone left with a smile on our face, Would definitely recommend for special occasions

We had an enjoyable night at Carbone last night. ❤️ For some reason the host sat us at the same table we had on our last visit. 😁😁😁 I was pleasantly surprised the servers remembered us. ❤️ We first fell in loved with Carbone the first time we dined in Las Vegas. It was exceptional, from the finesse of the customer service to the culinary journey we were taken on by the chef. Glad that the HK branch was able to deliver the same. ❤️ Last night, we were offered complimentary canapés, cheese, desserts, port wine and lemoncello! Haha.. It reminds me of a restaurant that my ex colleagues and I always go to whenever we flew to Milan. Complimentary foods and drinks were generously delivered over and above what we had ordered. 😍😍😍❤️ Love it! ❤️ We ordered lobster ravioli to share, grilled snapper oreganata and lamb tomahawk as main, plus a side dish of broccoli. I requested for my fish dish to be well done. It was cooked to perfection to how I like it! We also asked if the broccoli to be slightly undercooked because we liked our vegetable crunchy. We were really happy when a restaurant is able to accommodate all the little customers requests when dining. It's a big plus for the F&B industry. Thank you for a great night! Excellent job to all the front line servers! Even bartenders were really friendly! They greeted the walk in guests and thank them when they were leaving!👍👍👍❤️

Love Carbone!! Food, service and ambience always on point. Worth every penny. Even before you order, they will serve you cheese, bread and cold cuts to the table. Make sure to get the spicy rigatoni and carapccio. You will leave the place satisfied. For sure will be back soon. Definitely will recommend!

A fantastic experience! Carbone offers a mix a great food, drinks, atmosphere and service to provide a fantastic evening experience overall. I would highly recommend for a BIG celebration - When it's someone's birthday they dim the lights completely and around 10 waiters sing Happy Birthday at the top of their voices. Thank you to our hosts for making it an extra special night.

I booked Carbone for my birthday dinner last year, as it was a last minute plan and knew they always deliver nothing but satisfaction. The ambiance was vibrant, loud and fun just like a classic Italian American restuarant in New York. Had a drink at the bar upfront where it was like a mini party, and then proceeded to our table, which was very nice and cozy with sofa seating. The bread basket, salami, and cheese provided at the table are all delicious and get your appetite started. My favourite is the garlic bread and focaccia. The cheese pairs really well with a red wine. For our starters and mains we ordered: Prosciutto Caprese (Buratta) Spicy Rigatoni Vodka Chicken Scarpariello The Caprese and Prosciutto are finished off table side. Both dishes were very good. The buratta was soft and creamy, and the tomatoes very refreshing. The Prosciutto ham was very thinly sliced and melted in your mouth. My favourite dish, and a one of Carbones' most popular - Spicy Rigatoni Vodka - was exceptional, and is a must order if you visit. Finally ended with some New York Cheescake and a Chocolate cake, which were brought out by their staff who are also talented singers, as they surprised me with a Birthday song. Want to also want to mention the wine sommelier (sorry don't remember his name), as he was very good in understanding our palette and suggesting a beautiful bottle of red to make our dinner even more amazing. Overall, Carbone is an all in one experience of great food, service, and an ambiance that always makes you feel welcome, and leaves you satisfied on every level.

Visiting here today for my husband’s birthday, have made this in the reservation remark earlier on website. Today we are pleased to be served by Mr. Punit and had lunch here. Lunch covering starter - cold cut salami and a big piece of Parmesan cheese. We have some signature dishes here and the freshly made Bananas alla Rhum gave a memorable experience for us! The sauce was made in front of us and served as a birthday “cake” for my hubby. Mr. Punit takes care things in details and shares us the stories about the plates we are interested in (they were from Italy and handcrafted!) and also some conversation about the restaurants and food. His attention to details and the vibe were add-Ons for the dining experience. Never mentioned the good quality food ;)

4.3 The service and atmosphere are top notch. Like being transported back to a 1950s Italian joint in Manhattan. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and fun. The music is a great mix of 50s crooners and jazz and the place has a great club feel. The food is fine, but for the price, it should blow you away. We had the caprese, the spicy vodka rigatoni and the meatball. All good, not great. I'll return due to the service and atmosphere. And the Brunello on the wine by the glass is perfect.

It was worth the hype!! I never expect it to be this good, but it is. The spicy rigatoni is amazing. The octopus starter was beyond my expectation. Steak was so so but the portion was big so I guess it’s worth the price. The lemon cheesecake was absolutely amazing, it’s the most expensive piece of cake in my life but it’s very good. It’s a little bit on the pricey side though. The location for the restaurant is amazing, right in downtown central.

My friends heard about the 6 mth waiting list to book the New York Cabone!!, so wanted to try Hk's version ( 1 week prior booklng or less), 3 of us ate starters and main dishes, and a 4th person joined us for the dessert. Upon arrival the staff greeted us with smiling faces which is a plus, The place looked cozy and plush, with comfortable seating for large gatherings for Birthdays etc. The ambiance was very New York style. The music selection I understand is Carbone's own mix which can be found on Spotify. My friend and I wanted to boogie! I think she was spotted dancing later on by a member of the staff. FOOD was excellent but try to abstain from eating the fabulous bread basket otherwise there is no room for the rest. Ordered the Beetroot Salad Entree, and Spicy Clams, and also had some salami and cauliflower appetisers. The mains I ordered the Pork Ragu with Fettucini, and the Signature dish Spicy Rigatoni with Vodka by my friend. All dishes excellent. Happy to see the staff singing to several tables "Happy Birthday". I loved the new plates that just arrived from Italy which are beautifully painted. Great experience and will return again.

Awesome vibe and service! We ordered the octopus to start - unfortunately overdone. Couldn’t cut my piece with the knife. Then the signature Spicy rigatoni vodka- so good! Would just order this and the caprese next time. Steak (Ribeye Diana) was done well. Added mushroom and potatoes as side dishes, could’ve prob gone without as the steak had some mushrooms. Ordered the Tiramisu for dessert - wasn’t a classic style, quite heavy. Overall was good but with this price it should be out of this world! More like a ‘one off special occasion tick off your list’ kind of try, not a must try.

I just went to Carbone a second time and both me and my wife had an amazing lunch. The chef personally choose our menu for that day, which was full of delicious dishes. My personal favorites were the fresh ravioli, the crispy and flavorful chicken parmigiana and the delicate aged prosciutto appetizer. All the staff taking care of us were absolutely great, especially our very friendly main waiter Danny. I'd absolutely come back again!

[Not recommended in HK] If money grew in my backyard, I'd be okay with this. 🌳💸 In reality, I'm always happy to spend where worth it and sadly, Carbone HK did not make sense for me, though the atmosphere is fun and boisterous. Short review: By end of meal, I asked our service person if the staff got to eat the resto food recently to which he replied, "We have our own staff canteen with different menu, all fantastic". So I'd totally get it if he doesn't know where I'm coming from upon hearing my feedback. Cos I cannot imagine how he would have described the food the way he did if it tasted the way it did. Long review: Here for the pasta. Our service staff, Raj, highly-reco'd a few with great enthusiasm; I like the energy. We got 4 we thought we'd like most. 🍝The rigatoni - best one of the 4, but nothing special. The carbonara, arrabiata and vongole were between mediocre to below average with the vongole being my least fave. 🍅 For me, all sauces were under-seasoned. The taste was quite bland and flour-y. Texture-wise, Al-Dente should be firm not tough and chalky. 💲It was an edible meal; we finished everything. But for what we ordered (4 pastas + 2 side dishes of mushroom/broccoli + 2 glasses of wine + 2 cocktails) at the price of HK$2,800 or ฿12,000, I expected above average. Would you?

A great place for dinner. Good atmosphere, upscale casual with friendly service. Good food, love the truffle fettuccine, yummy dessert, nice wine. The restaurant can get a bit loud at times, and majority of the table seem to be coming here for birthdays, so you will hear birthday song over and over.

Lovely American Italian food. The only criticism was the vongole recipe has changed and a whole jalapeno pepper was put into the pasta. It was too spicy and they had to remake the dish. Also some guests were extremely rowdy and drunk and banging the tables and running around to other tables which ruined an otherwise pleasant evening.

Carbone has always been one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Hong Kong. Due to Black Series, I visited Carbone for lunch for the first time. We ordered the signature Spicy Rigatoni Vodka and Chicken Parmesan. Although Carbone's Spicy Rigatoni Vodka is always delicious, they were definitely not as good as before. My gut feeling was that they have been cooking them in bulk for Black Series; hence, the pasta we received this time was way less delicate and not even hot! Despite the slight disappointment of the pasta, the Chicken Parmesan was nice and the overall dining experience was as joyful as always.

Carbone is the best Italian Restaurant in Hong Kong hands down! They have a great team there that look after us so well every time. The service is impeccable and the hospitality is warm. Must try dishes are: Caesar Salad (sounds boring but it is truly very good), Meatballs, Spicy Vodka Rigatoni, Veal Parm, and more Spicy Vodka Rigatoni. A+ wine selection and A++++ Sommelier service here. This place simply never disappoints.

Carbone is a great event. The staff can't do enough, the restaurant is lavishly designed and great theatre is created. As you also get at New Punjab Club (Black Sheep) However, I couldn't reconcile the overall cost of the meal versus the quality. You will drop somewhere between $1,000-3,000 each. If you like theatre and expensive places, then Go and enjoy it. If you are really interested in quality food, then this is just good, basic Italian at a really high end price.

Best. Pasta. In Hong Kong. That spicy rigatoni is amazing and I keep coming back for more. Service very attentive, non invasive but there when you need it. Non pushy staff and desserts excellent. Lemon cheesecake and their carrot cake is better than the chocolate IMO. A tiny, tiny bit loud, but good atmosphere and certainly recommended.

Great place, quality comfy Italian-American food that leaves you with a smile, and wonderful selection of wine to pair. The staff are top notch and go the extra mile to make your meal a memorable experience. Highly recommend!

The food is great! The staff are keen to serve and entertain. The prices are a little much. Is it worth it? Maybe if you’re trying to impress someone.

One of the best meal of life!! I tried really hard to book a table here and finally got one. It was a late reservation, but didn’t matter. My friend and I had the most amazing experience and was genuinely one of the best meals of my life. Everything was absolutely insane. We ate like kings. All of the staff were warm and friendly and eager to make sure we had the best time. Can’t wait to go back again.!!!

Romantic setting with low ambient light, jazzy music background, lots of wooden decor and hanging chandeliers. Waiting staff are well trained. Attentive, polite and tries to present a beautiful experience to the customers. We came in probably the worst dressed customer, with faded jeans, unpressed khakis, 3 day old t-shirts, no makeup on the missus and badly groomed hair, and yet, treated with so much courtesy and care by the staff. We are very impress. Well, we were not expecting the classiness of the restaurant when we randomly chose it for dinner after a casual day in town. Food was pretty good. We recommend the anti-pasto octopus. A great starter. The pasta rigatoni that we had was nice. Roast chicken was good, but we think the recipe needs some tweaking. What was good about the chicken was the roasting method. In fact, the octopus was superb because of how the chef BBQ it. Great skills with the fire. It was an expensive dinner. Expect to pay HKD500 per person just for food. A worthy experience nevertheless.

We had our Father’s Day dinner here and it was such a lovely meal. Cozy ambience yet nothing too pretentious. Pastas were all lovely but their cheesecake was such a delight too.

Great Italian food What makes this restaurant is the incredible service staff and general experience. There's a special sauce when it comes to making the guests feel welcomed and warm - it's a genuine slice of a western dining experience. Granted, the meal itself is not cheap (circa HK$600 a head+ wine), but if you want a good night out - there are few places that are better. Also check out their sister restaurant Buenos Aires Polo Club - same group of restaurant, equally fantastic

The ambience here is quite nice in the ewrly evening: quite chill and spacious. Food are just good and staff here are very cheerful and helpful, you would just enjoy more on top of the good quality of food. Bread and cheese here are good, and with good varieties of wine to pair with food. However, I strongly recommend u bring ur own wine if u hv some knowledge of wine: paying corkage is better than buying their hiuse wines, u know. Later of the evening when more ppl arrived and it is jist a quite noisy esp the background music began to play. Lower its volumn would be great and ppl can enjoy more in the convo when they hv supper.

Once seated, the waiters will make you feel right at home by serving complimentary cheese (cut right in front of you), prosciutto and a huge basket of garlic bread, even before showing you the menu Let’s start off with desserts (although the trolley will only come at the end of the meal) because you absolutely need to save enough space in your stomach for them! Although all their desserts are amazing, the luscious lemon cheesecake is just on a whole other level, so it’s best to set it aside for last. With a perfectly balanced taste of creaminess and zestiness paired with a velvety smooth texture, it’s definitely worth every penny of the hefty price tag. The moist carrot cake came in a really interesting curved shape with ginger ice cream on the side. The highlight would definitely be the rich cream cheese frosting on top —making it better than all the other carrot cakes I've had before! The spicy rigatoni vodka is their most famous dish, but it was too spicy for me, so I can’t say if it lives up to its reputation. However, I can definitely vouch for their other must-try signature dish - the gigantic Mario’s meatballs paired with rustic tomato sauce, as the juicy and tender meatballs made of ground beef and veal just melted in our mouths. It was a good idea that we listened to the waiter’s suggestion to add an extra meatball, so that the 4 of us could each have an entire one to ourselves (side note: you can try recreating the meatballs at home by checking out the recipe on Major Food Group website) Highly recommend ordering the caprese salad for starters. The simple dish is made of high-quality ingredients (heirloom tomato, burrata cheese and salsa verde) that speak for themselves, and you can witness the waitress pouring the olive oil with your own eyes. For mains, we got the NY bone-in strip and the potatoes sergio as a side dish. While we enjoyed the charred steak, the crispy potato wedges really stole the show - it was perfectly flavored with herbs and rosemary sprigs that were just delightful to the palate!
